When I went by today for my emissions test, the technician informed me that my car had failed, when I was trying to ask him why it failed because the print was so small he cut me off and told me to stop interrupting him. One of the rudest, most passive aggressive encounters I've had in a long time. He then handed me the papers ignored me and told me to have a good day as he walked off. I'm going to have to retract my previous review. Just because you are having a bad day doesn't mean you can treat your customers bad. read more

When I pulled up the short lady just stared at me and didn't say a word until she directed me to pull up. Very snappy and told me to go wait inside. Paid $115 for an oil change which is definitely a rip off. Pretty sure they charged me extra for 2 additional OZ or quarts that I didn't need. There were three other people in the waiting room and they were charged the exact same amount for an oil change as me and they each had different cars...Everyone there looked like they were miserable. Took over an hour to get an oil change. Don't go here. read more

After driving to other nearby inspection locations (that I've used in the past), and seeing that they either didn't have an inspector on site, or had lines behind all their bays, I happened to see this building and made a quick turn. So easy! Friendly, got my info, and got me in and out pretty quickly. 10min max. Will be bringing my other car by that needs an inspection. read more

I arrived 15 min before closing time for a 5 min emissions test after driving 45 miles from out of town. Manager said I was too late (??). He told he cared more about getting home than he did about servicing a new client. With a comment like that you can judge for yourself what kind of quality workmanship and work ethic you'll get at this place. read more

Been here 4-5 times for inspections and or oil changes. Always fast and satisfied. Not typically a huge line when I have shown up.

Went to get my inspection sticker, I was there for less than 20 minutes ... I thought, for sure it would be a lot longer than it was. didn't even have time to finish my 2nd cup of coffee. read more

I came here for my car inspection. It is notoriously difficult to find people who are offering that service right now. A lot of places only have an inspector on sight for hours undisclosed on any website. Flashpoint auto had an inspector, and it only took 10 minutes to get my inspection. They have a few chairs and a fan set out on the side of the building so you can wait as well. Overall a good experience and I would recommend to anyone needing a state inspection. read more

I could not get out of this place fast enough. I did not get my car serviced. I only waited in my vehicle to speak to someone, No one ever approached me. I witnessed one of the employees throwing tools and screaming profanities because he was having a hard time changing oil on a different vehicle. Very unprofessional I would not take my vehicle here. read more

I am seething! I went to get my oil changed by this place a little over a week ago and the guy forgot to put the cap back on, so i now have oil all under my hood on everything. I wish i could give zero stars. I am so mad. Now I'm having to buy 2 more quarts of oil on top of the $80 i spent at this terrible place. They better make this right because for a place that advertises quick oil changes because you'd think they'd know how to screw a cap back on. The cap was just resting there under the hood. I'd strongly urge anyone thinking of going here to reconsider, and head to their nearest Jiffy Lube instead. On December 30th around 2:15pm, I went in for a routine inspection and oil change and three hours later ended up with my car dead, windows down, and abandoned outside the FlashPoint garage on Menchaca. I've been meaning to write this review for nearly a month, but thinking about how I was treated by this business fills me with an anger I wasn't ready to be reminded of until now. Here's the story: During my inspection which started probably around 3 pm after waiting in line, the FlashPoint employee somehow locked themselves out of my 4Runner with the key still inside, so they reached in through the open window to open the door and triggered the anti-theft alarm system. Now the car was honking continuously and they couldn't figure out how to stop the alarm. I haven't used a fob with my car for at least 4 years so I couldn't turn it off - but offered many suggestions as I was googling the issue trying to help them resolve it. After some time, the owner came to try and fix the issue so I walked to a coffee shop to let them deal with it and warm up a bit as I wasn't expecting to stand outside in the cold for so long. I came back around 4:30 and the owner was gone, and my car had been moved out of the garage, close to the sidewalk and the windows were still rolled down. I was told there wasn't anything they could do, and they couldn't jump my car - the battery had been depleted from all of the honking. So I started trying things on my own before the employees left promptly at 5pm, with my car still there and no way to start it. I had to call a tow truck to come and service my car ($125) - this man was able to jump my car and recharge the battery enough for me to drive it home, and he gave me advice on how to fix the alarm. Then a few days later I took my car to a Jiffy Lube to get a new battery and before that, a new inspection - which my car passed with no problem. I could have gone back to Flashpoint for the inspection but who in their right mind would trust those guys with their car after the situation I went through? I don't know if they even changed my oil - there was no new sticker inside my windshield. But alas these guys make you pay before anything is done. I had also asked them to put air in my tires and that certainly didn't happen. I understand that you may not know how to fix a problem, but if you create the problem, it's you responsibility to offer solutions, other than "look it up on youtube". And don't leave your customer in the cold with their car dead on the side of the road. At least jump it and roll the windows up so their car doesn't get broken into. I'd say to make up for what they did, they should at least refund the cost of their "services", and I think many others (including the tow truck driver) would agree the $125 shouldn't have fallen on me. Truly a terrible handling of a problem that had nothing to do with me. read more

Let me start this of by stating I'm from Florida. That being said I was in Austin for a month building and tearing down Austin City Limits. Love Austin, Not so much this place. I decided to get an oil change at this location a few days before my trip back home. That there was a 11k mistake. So, I leave on the morning of the 16th for Mr 20+ hour drive home. No problems in my mind so off I go. 3 hours into my trip a large cloud of white smoke from the back of my car and my car shuts down. After hours of waiting for the tow truck I finally get my car to the Bayview Hyundai and get the incredible news my oil stopper was missing and the treads to it stripped. I'm pretty heated at this moment and call this place. A friendly guy named David answers and I explain to him what had happen. He informs me that he'll let "owner" know and they'll get back to me. The next morning I receive this After reviewing the report, interviewing the techs, and going over our footage we have concluded that the vehicle was not leaking oil at the time of service. Our Policy and Procedures for oil service. Tech 1 hand rolls drain plug and proceeds to tighten with a hand ratchet and socket size. Tech 2 Comes in after Tech 1 and double checks the drain plug to insure that it is locked in place. We observed footage techs following our policy and procedures during the time of your vehicles service. Unfortunately going forward we can not cover any of the damages your vehicle has sustained. Flashpoint Auto Inspection So I guess they must have a go pro on all the techs foreheads. I asked for this "footage" and haven't heard a peep. My lawyer says I shouldn't worry because someone is going to pay. Thanks Flashpoint for being a stand up business.(Sarcasm) If you don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere don't go there. read more

This guy aggressively asked me if i knew anything about my car. when i didn't he made it seem like I was an idiot and he was the expert.. 2 weeks after the oil change there is a big ole oil spot in my driveway...When my friend offered to check and see what it was it turned out the the oil drain plug wasn't securely tightened and the oil was constantly dripping out of the car. Consequently I drove it for 2 weeks as the oil was slowly getting lower and lower. We had to replace almost 3 quarts of oil to bring it back to full. some expert. read more

I drove to 3 different inspection places before stopping here, and I'm so glad I did! David took care of me in literally less than 20 minutes. He even replaced my wipers so that my vehicle would pass inspection. Highly recommend! read more

The only thing I could possibly see why others would give less than 5 stars, is they do no have a waiting room, but they do provide outdoor seating, which may not be ideal for some. I was very excited that a service station opened up just down the street from me, that is, until I used them......I had a flat tire and needed to put some air in it to get to Costco where I purchased the tires. They charged me $5, which took them less than a minute. I've been to shops where they fix your flat for FREE, let alone ask for money for AIR!! They lost my business. read more
