What I scout out are restaurants that will take the time to create a tasty breakfast dish. Chorizo and eggs? I'll be the first one at your door if done right. If you create a corned beef hash dish from scratch? I will find you and I'll be a forever fan. Enter Relish. Newsday and Yelp have been raving about this place for a while now. I was waiting for the snow to melt before I ventured out to Kings Park. This area always feels like the "Superman Bizarro 25a". Its like the Chinese Wall, As Rodney says, we live on the good side! :P Walking in, it probably was a diner at one time. Inside is a cute and warm restaurant. My wife and I are seated in a booth and we order. I zero in on Corned Beef Hash with eggs. It's like I have blinders on, there's nothing else to talk about. My wife orders a Egg White thingy, boring. Is there anything better than starting off the day with a hearty, delicious brunch? I think not! We came here around 8:30 on Saturday and there was no wait since it was a bit early for most. By the time we were ready to leave, the place was definitely packed with a few people waiting by the door. So if you don't want to wait get there early... Anyway, we ordered promptly. Coffee, peach pancakes, corned beef hash platter, and Mexican omelet. My corned beef wasn't the mush from a can; it was the real deal. The home fries/potatoes were seasoned perfectly and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Definitely one of the better home fries out there. All topped with the perfectly cooked over and easy eggs. I had a taste of the pancakes and they were fluffy and the peach topping was fresh. This place was really great!!! We came here today 07/19/2016 after the beach. It is extremely clean in here and looks like a very upscale modern diner. The booth seating is huge!!! My Greek salad with salmon was delicious and the salmon was cooked well. I loved the Orange Honey dressing that I chose for it. The dressing tasted very fresh! Love that they put an ample amount of stuffed grape leaves in it! I'm a grape leaf fiend! Yes there was some parts of the lettuce that were brown on the edges a bit this is how they are purchased from the store a little bit of browning is inevitable. They give you what it seems like their homemade chips at the table in lieu of bread. Those chips are addictively delicious! My daughter ordered the jack cheese quesadilla and she said it tasted really good and fresh not oily like in fast food places. Her fries were so good and seasoned well. We were checked on during our meal and our drinks refilled without us having to ask. My husband was surprised that they just handed him another diet soda. Would love to stop by this place again! I saw this place written about in Edible Long Island don't remember where I picked it up even my fellow yelpers seemed to like this place we headed in about 8pm its attractive enough looks like a converted diner with a bit of country redecorating inside wainscot walls booths friendly looking waitress nice and friendly such high expectations such so so food squash soup was served lukewarm waitress returned too late to bother complaining cheese fries with their homemade cheese sauce was eh also the cheese sauce was good but dear me what happened to the fries nice uniform cut but limp greasy and lukewarm saving grace was my shake almond joy it was 5 bucks but hey even DD shakes are more $ lovely shake really maybe I missed the right time of day to come. Trash. This is my third poor experience at this place (I've only gone back because my family and friends are delusional and somehow think this place is good). Previously I got a Philly "cheesesteak" that was in reality wet cat food on a hoagie and an omelette that tasted like a paper towel. My latest visit started off with poor service where the waiter couldn't count how many people were at our table and half of us couldn't get water for the first 30 minutes. When we finally were given the opportunity to order, I decided to get a salad because I'm trying to shave off some of my obesity. Pretty bold for all of the salad options to be $17+ WITHOUT adding chicken (additional $9). I got the superfood salad, which included items like kale, quinoa and chickpeas. I told my girlfriend that I was willing to bet my soul that this simple meal would somehow get screwed up by the incompetent service. Unsurprisingly, I am handed my salad without any chicken. I send it back, and it is returned to me a few moments later. I now notice that the salad is not kale, but lettuce. I don't know what a superfood is, but I'm pretty sure romaine lettuce does not fall on that list. I am starving and regretfully eat my salad, which also includes strange tasting sweet potatoes and maybe 5 chickpeas and a tablespoon of quinoa. To sum it all up, I paid $27 for something you would feed your hamster. Place stinks. Save your self the time, money, and mental sanity and go anywhere else. Horrible service. Took our waitress 30 minutes to come to our table to ask for drinks. The next time she came back was to give us the check.

Went there with five ladies and we enjoyed we love the way it's redone. Portions were huge and food was delicious. Here's the Scoop: My honey and I went for breakfast here and it was lovely. The menu is very creative. They serve breakfast and lunch. When you walk in it gives you a diner feel but it's been remodeled to give like a old soda shop look. Full breakfast bar seating is the first thing you see. Above the bar are chalked menus and ads for what's available. I love the idea of the pocket book hooks under the bar counter. It makes that seating so much more comfortable. The restaurant is small and quaint Booth seating is the other option and it's also comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and have a baby changing table. Service was friendly and quick. Our waitress was well versed on the menu and specials. Our food was hot, fresh and yummylicious!! We will definitely come again to try some of their lunch items. read more

And the coffee bottomless! The Frisco Omelette was moist and yummy. The avocado was fresh. The potatoes crunchy and not seeping in oil! The cinnamon bun French toast was delish!!! Except hubs bit into what he thought was egg shells turns out a piece of the plastic packaging got into the French Toast. We told the hostess and she was apologetic. She offered to get us a new plate but we were okay. Now the ricotta pancake was fluffy and so good. I would forgo the healthy Frisco omelette to indulge in a full plate of ricotta pancakes! So this is a strange review to write. I really liked this place: I've been here a few times, the food is imaginative and good, there's a cool counter service area evoking the diner it once was, and the location is convenient. But... I arrived today to find a 40-inch TV right in front of the counter, impossible to avoid, blaring Fox News. Now, politics aside, who would want any sort of politically charged news program overwhelming what should be a calm breakfast experience? That shows a terrible sense of customer comfort, leading me to immediately question the quality of the other facets of their operation. Now let's add politics: while I certainly don't know the details, I suspect strongly, from the faces I saw and the accents I heard, that the kitchen staff are not, shall we say, ardent Trump supporters. Even if one accepts the rudeness of that, do I really want the people preparing my food to be reminded of how unwelcome they are? Too bad ... I'll miss those pancakes. read more

A huge rip off. They charge extra for everything and do not tell you. I ordered a 9.99 egg special that came with Two eggs, sausage and toast. I was charged for the following "upgrades": 1.50 for one egg white. 1.00 for whole grain bread. 2.00 for turkey sausage. 1.00 for tots. Not to mention $8.00 for a "large soup". When I questioned this to the staff, they just looked at me dumbfounded. I'll be sure to forewarn everyone about how much this place takes advantage. read more

After a very good experience at the Hauppauge location we decided to dine at Relish Kings Park. The contrast took us by surprise. We found Relish Hauppauge a bit pricey but the excellent quality of the food and service made it worthwhile. Not so in KP. While the same "priceyness" was true the food quality was surprisingly poor. Basically we were paying for high end food and service and both were very sub-par. To provide an example-The turkey burger & Greek salad at Hauppauge was large moist and the plentiful salad was gourmet prepared. In KP we were served a 4 oz dried out hockey puck that appeared freezer-burned and a thrown-together handful of sparse greens and condiments that they had the gall to up charge us for. If you're going to pose as gourmet in your pricing you should consider at least attempting to provide the same. read more

I wish I could do like 3.5 stars because 3 stars seems low but I wouldn't give it 4 stars. I came here for my birthday breakfast with a friend and my son for the first time. My friend had told me about how good it was and I looked at the menu, the menu seemed good, then I saw the sweet potato pancakes and I wanted to try it so bad! I couldn't wait and was looking forward to trying something different and it sounded delicious. Also they make their pancake batter from scratch which is nice to know. Unfortunately when we got there the potato pancake batter was all out. We got there around 10/1030am, so they either make the pancake batter in batches for a few days or it was just that popular that by 10am they ran out. Needless to say, I was really disappointed. I ended up getting the lemon poppy seed pancakes, they were ok.... I honestly didn't taste any lemon whatsoever. I decided to give this place 3 stars because the food I ordered didn't really impress me BUT I will be back to try the sweet potato pancakes and will reevaluate after that. I will just make sure to call ahead to make sure they have the batter so I don't go for no reason. Also it's worth saying that the place is cute inside. It wasn't too crowded when we went (Monday morning but veterans day so people had off from school and work). The staff was friendly. read more

Have been going there since opened. Today was a total different experience. Awful service -just not friendly- no coffee refills etc. and the bacon was first over cooked and I don't mean crispy. Looked burned in a microwave. and then just brought out three strips of another thin bacon all fat again looked like it was microwaved. Just poor quality. So disappointing. The eggs u can't screw that up. The omelette was fine very very oily and no better than at a dinner. So done with this place. Prices are s bit high for Kings Park but you are paying for great quality and generous portions, besides, these guys buy locally grown fruits and vegetables which means they are going the extra mile and puts them on my top list The Open Face Avocado sandwich was oh so so so good!!!! You start with a Whole Grain toast, a generous layer of Hass Avocado, I think they put a whole avocado on mine and I was very grateful for it then sliced tomatoes, onions(not for me) and two eggs your style equals perfection!!! In another occasion I tried the BLT sandwich and it was of course fresh and crunchy with a delicious mayo, the amount of bacon was so big I had to share half of it my sister inlaw had a gorgeous chef salad and she loved it. Love this local Kings Park spot! Soo happy we have a great dining option in town. Breakfast, lunch or dinner Relish has you covered. Previously I have had their ricotta pancakes, pastruben sandwich, and tonight I enjoyed the Southern fried chicken sandwich. Everyone was pleased with their meals and full! I've been wanting to try this spot for a while and finally have gotten around to going for brunch. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. The parking lot is on the smaller side so we parked across the street thankfully with no issue. We waited about 20 minutes. When we were seated it was very tight but not terrible. They had cold brew which I was happy about. We tried the breakfast quesadilla and the cinnamon bun French toast. The quesadilla was packed with eggs ,bacon ,sausage and cheese. We had hot sauce and sour cream with it and it was really really good. The French toast was cut into small circles which I actually really liked. It had a lot of flavor and the cream cheese icing was a great topping. We split it and still didn't eat everything ! My friend only likes almond milk and they surprisingly had it which she was very happy about. The woman helping us were sweet. I've been here a few times with my family and we've enjoyed the meals. Most nights the specials that they offer are very good, we've had chicken wings in a Parmesan sauce that were a complete knock out. Also, the beer cheese soup is absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are good, the pork sandwich with broccoli rabe is immense and filled me up and I can eat like a pig. They have a delicious fried chicken sandwich that just blows you away. They provide complimentary potato chips before the meal which are clearly home made and so tasty, though quite salty which leads to the disappointing point of my experience. The drinks do not have free refills any longer. They once did, then it stopped. The chips make you thirsty as they are quite salty (in a good way) but as you gulp your soda, expect to be charged a pretty chunky price for another one. The waiter had failed to mention this to us, then apologized after bringing the bill which was about $7 more than we'd anticipated, stating that he's been forgetting to mention it. Unfortunately, this came out of his tip as he has a responsibility to explain a change like that to customers. Overall, I'd suggest eating here, just don't get too thirsty. read more

I used to love it, but the sweet potato pancakes are really, really dense, dry, and unflavorful now; the home fries are just plainly deep-fried frozen potato squares, and the prices have gone up. The omelets are still good, but not particularly inventive. Sunflower seed toast is still good, salad is still good, and I like that they have sweet potato tots, but three years ago, this solid 4-star has dropped significantly since the original chef left. :( read more
