Went to celebrate Valentine's Day! The ambiance is very cozy and intimate for dinner time and they have some outdoor sittings as well as bar sittings. The food was phenomenal. The food and drinks here were pretty good. I was surprised since I ordered some foods I don't typically go for and ended up thoroughly enjoying them. Pastrami cured salmon: 8/10 It was pretty good and the beets and crème added to it. It was definitely more deconstructed than I liked but it was pretty refreshing and filling. Walk in the park cocktail: 10/10! Absolutely delicious! It's super refreshing and very similar to an apérol spritz with lots of complementary flavors such as jasmine and strawberry. Let's start with the ambiance...very romantic or intimate for larger groups. Went to the restaurant on a Thursday and sat inside. Most folks were seating outside. This restaurant is in the middle of a hotel that looks like apartments. It took a while for a first timer who's not familiar with the area to find. There's plenty of street parking around the property. I did also see signs for valet parking but unclear about pricing. The food was shared within our group. I don't take picture of everything but this Risotto with mushrooms pictured...whew I inhaled that food. So creamy, tasty, and the mushroom had a bit of a crunch. I also tasted the salmon pate appetizer with chips. So, so good! We had one server that greeted us and took our order. But we interacted with two others or what maybe the managers. My wife and I were really looking forward to celebrating our anniversary at Perseid since we have had several wonderful experiences at Bludorn. The location is very interesting, the Hotel St Augustine. This hotel is like no other in Houston. Absolutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was not good. Our server was very nice, but she was slow, forgot our orders at two different incidents, and had to continually ask her to refill our water. The food was a conundrum. One minute they are hitting a grand slam and other times they grounded out. The bread, squash blossoms, and the hanger/flank steak (come tender remember which one), and wild boar bolognese were so good. The tuna tartine and bib lettuce salad were okay. Regret not getting the Caesar salad. My wife was so excited to get the beignets. Wow they absolutely sucked. They were room temp on the outside and slightly cold on the inside. They had a rubbery consistency. So bad! If I'm spending $200 on a meal I expect more. Definitely will not be back, but may do a staycation at the Hotel St. Augustine. read more

Found this restaurant via HRW, but ended up not ordering off of the HRW menu as it didn't have notable entrees from the main menu AND the HRW menu was different than the website. Honestly, it's a pet peeve of mine when restaurants don't put their best foot forward on a HRW menu and even worse when you show up and the menu is different. FYI we were going to order the trout and it had been replaced by salmon. After some deliberation since we could not go with Plan A, our off menu picks were the salmon dip, wild boar bolognese, and the snapper. The salmon dip was very good (5/5), and I could taste the smokiness. The chips were crisp, but some were oversalted and overwhelmed the bite in some cases. Now, let me just tell you, this was a dainty portion and not meant to be shared. I was informed the HRW portion was even smaller, so I'm glad we ordered off the main menu, or else we would have each only gotten one bite a piece. The wild boar bolognese was indeed top notch (5/5) as the pasta was cooked perfectly and the ratio of pasta to bolognese was just right. Now, it did get to be too much for me by the end, but that's likely because I usually prefer a cream/white sauce. We did order the full order, and it's definitely a sharing plate. We ended up taking some home - maybe 2-3 bites worth. The snapper was done well (4/5), but I'd still take the bolognese over the snapper. We finished by splitting the chocolate entremet (5+/5), which comes with coffee ice cream, and I'd return just for this dish. I don't drink coffee, but I love coffee flavored desserts, and the ice cream is very coffee forward. Add the moist, rich, chocolate cake, and it was the perfect bite. There was something crispy in on the plate, and it added some nice texture. I am not a fan of caramel in general, but the salted caramel here was just enough to enhance the bite. As far as service (4.5/5), it was excellent as expected of a high-end restaurant, but I knocked it half a point because of a bizarre exchange with the waiter at the beginning of our meal. After noticing that the trout on the HRW had been replaced by a salmon, I asked "So how's the salmon?" I expected either a thumbs up or down, or some description of how it was prepared, but I got neither. Instead, I received a mansplaining of how salmon was a fish and just like trout. First of all, I think salmon is a very distinct fish and not like any other. The fact that he tried to tell me that trout was the same thing as salmon was concerning. And that he felt like he had to tell me that salmon was a fish was also a bit insulting. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn't understand my question. As others have said, street parking is abundant - I did not see any street signs prohibiting parking during certain hours. Also, this "hotel" is not like a typical Marriott or Hyatt - it's multiple buildings sprawled over a large area (no high rise) with a resort type feel. Walk in through any of the open gates and follow the signs to the restaurant. They don't have a dress code, but I did notice all the men wore pants and all the women wore dresses (mostly below the knee). They're tucked away inside this quite unique hotel San Augustine in Montrose, this is a pretty spot to visit if you can navigate to it. It's the onsite dining option for the hotel but certainly open to the public. Upscale bistro appearance on the inside and you get plenty of added visuals from the hotel courtyard. The service is professional and polite, ready to help you all along your meal. I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the appetizers, all of the hit the mark for me in interesting and different ways. The Duck terrine (loaf), was just something I was trying on a whim and somehow the bite that was put together with the jam, mustard, pickles, and greens was probably one of my favorite things I've tried in a while. Tuna tartine was executed at a high level, and just hits the notes you want for fresh fish. My Mahi Mahi was cooked and seasoned well but I think the sandwich just looks sad and the toppings don't add enough to make this necessary as a handheld item. The rest of the entrees looked great, if not familiar but still having something unexpected included. We came during Houston Restaurant Weeks and we are glad we made the trip. The restaurant has great decor and it's in the middle of a new hotel. Very cool vibes. The service was good and the waiter was attentive and friendly. We liked the ambiance of this place. A nice place to eat. The food was really good. I loved the salmon dip and the beignets were probably some of the best I've ever had. The chicken was nicely cooked and the dish was delicious, but maybe not what I would get on a non-HRW visit. The trout was awesome and perfectly cooked, but maybe a little small. But given that we're talking about the $25 HRW Brunch, I guess I understand. The gazpacho was good too. My wife thought it was a little acidic. Overall, I do recommend this place and think it's worth the visit. I may have had critiques, but by no means does that mean it was a great meal. Fairly interesting spot inside the revamped apartments which make up the new "hotel" in the St. Thomas area. Street parking is what's available for this area. The restaurant was quite hard to find as it's located inside the hotel complex. The interior is modern and full service. We ordered most of the limited appetizer menu; tuna tartine (4/5), duck terrine (4/5), smoked salmon dip (3.5/5), squash blossoms (3/5). The Caesar salad was solid (4.5/5) and done well. On the whole, the apps were good. The squash blossoms really didn't have much flavor and wasn't very recognizable. I got the red snapper for main, and it was solid (4/5). The sauce was delicious and the fish was cooked well as the skin had some texture and the filet was tender. Overall, a solid take. Hard to find! read more

Parking was confusing, so I called the restaurant for directions, but even then the instructions weren't clear and ended up having to valet. Thank goodness valet people had umbrella because it was pouring that day and the walk to the restaurant was quite long. Because of that, I ended up arriving about 5 minutes past the 15-minute grace period. Despite having called ahead, they didn't hold the table and told me it would now be an hour wait. I ended up sitting at the bar instead, which was frustrating. The food itself was good, but the poor handling of service and lack of flexibility really took away from the experience. My friend and I came with my daughter to celebrate our friendship anniversary. I thought the overall service was attentive but casual and relaxed. They even brought out extra plates for my daughter - muy cute. The most exciting part of the menu is the appetizers. The ratatouille and escargot are not to be missed. My friend was terrified of ordering it but we did anyway and loved every bite. Honestly, all you could taste was butter and mushrooms. The ratatouille was so cozy. It reminded me of a stew in terms of taste but was full of vegetables and a crusty Parmesan number on top. Of the two desserts we ordered - the chocolate was the full star. I would come back just to have another slice. We actually didn't order any mains as I've seen them on many restaurant menus although I'm sure they would be done well here. Like other reviewers have said Perseid is one of Aaron Bludorn's restaurants. I haven't been to Bludorn yet, but I have tried Navy Blue in Rice Village. My friend and I had the opportunity to try this restaurant on a Sunday evening. It is located a block down from 93' Til and is the restaurant for Saint Augustine hotel in Montrose. The area itself is beautiful. It feels like a retreat compared to the normal hustle and bustle of Montrose. It was quiet and serene. Valet is expensive, but luckily there were plenty of street parking for a reservation at 6:45 pm. If you valet and walk through the beautiful lobby and Augustine Lounge, the restaurant is located straight ahead with the beautiful planters and outdoor seating. We parked on the side, so if you walk in through the boardwalk, follow the signs. I will say that late at night (left around 9:30 pm), the side entrances are locked, and the only way out is through the front, possibly due to safety. After all, it is a hotel. I had a non alcoholic rosé which was lovely. Generous portion. You can get still or sparkling water. They had a 2-day special Côte de Boeuf which was a 32 oz bone in prime rib with 3 sauces and 3 sides. The chef and general manager came out to present it. The chef explained the dish, though he sounded a bit nervous and unsure of what he had to actually say other than describe the dish. Felt a little forced. Then they took it back for the chef to slice it for us. It took about 40 minutes or so before we got our full meal. We didn't mind too much because we were talking, and our amazing server Sam came to check on us often and update us. The sides were pretty good. The haricot vert almondine was green beans with butter/oil, almonds, and golden raisins. Great flavor but a little oily. The asparagus with gribiche sauce had thick asparagus and a generous portion of sauce. Ever since having gribiche sauce at Credence, it quickly became one of my favorites. The asparagus was a little watery but cooked thoroughly. The gribiche sauce was also great with the prime rib. The prime rib came with a horseradish cream, bernaise, and sauce au poivre. All were good, but I mostly used the gribiche and horseradish. Sadly, the pommes dauphinoise was undercooked. If you can't scoop scalloped potatoes and need a knife to cut through it, that's a problem. I barely ate that because the thin slices of potato were still firm/crispy. It needed longer in the oven. We ended the evening with a shared dessert - chocolate entremet. It was rich, but the chocolate cake was moist. The salted caramel added sweetness, and the quenelled coffee ice cream helped cut some of the richness. The coffee ice cream was like espresso. Definitely a stronger flavor compared to other coffee ice creams I've had. I thought this place was nice and quaint. Simple yet minimalist elegance. Loved all the fiddle leaf plants. Restrooms are unisex and large and clean. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet on a Sunday evening but maybe because it was game 7 of the Rockets vs Warriors. Sad about the outcome. Btw, there are no TVs at the restaurant or the Augustine Lounge across. I think the point is to live in the moment and have a conversation rather than watch TV. We had plenty of prime rib and a few sides left, so it was boxed and bagged for us. Like Le Jardinier and Credence, you're given a number key chain to pick up your leftovers as you leave. read more

This place is so cute.. and for a moment I forgot I was in Houston!! Beautiful hotel and restaurant. When you arrive, you're arriving at Hotel Saint Augustine. They have complimentary valet for guests checking in and the restaurant. If you follow the path, it leads you to the restaurant that has great vibes. We ordered the Cesar Salad and Duck Terrine as appetizers. I was full after eating just these two meals. The cesar salad had the best sourdough croutons!! Must get it. For the mains, I got the BLT Sandwich and my friend got the burger. She mentioned the burger was just okay, but the BLT had the biggest, thickest bacon slices. I really enjoyed it. Chips and french fries were also good. For dessert we got beignets and they were good, but we were so full, we couldn't finish it all. Service was top notch. Anyone who knows me can guarantee I will recommend the namesake restaurant of Chef Bludorn. It remains one of my favorites! When Perseid was first announced, I knew I'd have to pay a visit. This establishment focuses on french cuisine with a focus to Southern Cajun roots. For those that have visited other Bludorn establishments, you'll find many of the same themes. First, the decor is a perfect balance of minimalist, a mid-century modern vibe, and upscale without feeling pretentious. Perseid is no different. It's a great spot to take a date or celebrate. For those unfamiliar it's located inside St. Augustine hotel in the middle of the hotel budings. For parking, there is a valet at the hotel entrance and you can validate at the restaurant, but it will still cost you a little. Alternatively, there is plenty of street parking available around the area, if you're patient. Now let's get into it! Food and Drinks - 4* For drinks we went with a Dreamcatcher, which was very refreshing with a unique balance of flavors that will toy with your taste buds. The Vesperado #2 is served chilled up and is definitely a choice for anyone that likes to taste their booze. Both were good. The menu is laid out similar to other Bludorn establishments and you'll find some items that run consistent. Another item that runs consistent is the need to place the order for all appetizer and mains at the same time. So be prepared if you're not! On this visit we weren't overtly hungry so we kept it to one appetizer, the smoked salmon dip. It wasn't as tasty as some other smoked fish dips we've had, but it wasn't disappointing either. There just wasn't a heavy smoked taste to the salmon like with past fish dips such as redfish. I particularly wasn't a huge fan of the crisps/potatoe chips they were served with. They were a bit soft and mushy. As if there was too much oil used or not fried long enough. For the mains with elected for the chicken paillard and hanger steak. The chicken paillard was flavorful, but it wasn't anything that had us saying oh my goodness, I'd order this everyday. For the hanger steak, it was cook perfectly at rare-medium rare with a nice deep red center. The sauce that accompanied it was good though notably something we both noticed about each of our dishes was they just weren't that hot? Everything was just, warm bordering on, can this be heated it up. That was one of the turn-offs of both dishes. Service - 4* The service was about as expected. The waiters know the dishes well and they are attentive. On this visit there was only one occasion where we both ran out of water. One item we did noticed is how pushy the drive to sell more cocktails was. We were asked at least three times by three different people. Maybe because it was empty and they never cleared it? Cost - 5* Always subjective however it falls in line with other Bludorn establishments. Generally the pricing is worthy of the experience, the quality, and quantity. Overall - 4* This spot is definitely one to check out with friends, family, or a date. Personally, I'll probably stick to Bludorn as I just find the experience from start to finish to be a well-oiled machine that never disappoints! read more

We ended up at Perseid for a last-minute celebration, drawn in by Aaron Bludorn's newest concept (I'm a big fan of Bludorn, so expectations were high). I accidentally booked a 7:30 AM reservation, but the team caught it, called to confirm, and fixed it without a hitch. Already a great first impression. I also requested a patio table thinking it'd be nice to sit outside since Houston hasn't fully melted yet--but the staff gently overruled me and moved us inside. Smart call. The space is very much a vibe--70s-chic, relaxed, and stylish. It leaned a little loud for the laid-back atmosphere, but nothing that ruined the experience. Service was a touch slow, but nothing that bothered us since we were enjoying the company. I started with a Walk in the Park (jasmine tea vodka, strawberry, tarragon, lemon, Aperol). Our server gave me a heads up that it leaned sweet and offered to have the bartender tone it down, which I appreciated. The flavor was refreshing and oddly familiar in a way I couldn't quite place. We kicked off with the Caesar salad, which was good--perfectly dressed--but I'd been hoping for a bit more presentation. I thought I had seen it prepared table side online :/ The crawfish sausage was flavorful but the texture wasn't quite for me. For dinner, I had the roasted duck breast with rice pilaf, almond, apricot, and sauce Albufera. It was beautifully executed--rich, balanced, and the clear standout of the night. Duck is a typical go to for me and this did not disappoint. Dessert was the ice cream trio--coffee, malted chocolate, and pistachio. And listen... pistachio ice cream is the GOAT. If you know, you know. I topped dinner off with an Irish coffee, way too much baileys and 0 whisky. Not my preferred preparation. Overall, Perseid is a great new addition to the Montrose dining scene. Tucked away inside the Hotel Saint Augustine Im jealous of the guests, especially one guest we saw on their balcony with a big fluffy cat... Had a lovely dinner at Perseid! We had 7:45 reservations on a Friday night and were able to easily find street parking. Once we were seated and ordered cocktails it did take a little while for them to come out, but we really enjoyed them. I ordered the Noble Night Heron and would order again. We didn't get the complimentary bread and butter right away, maybe they intentionally wait until closer to your meal? Not sure. Throughout the evening the staff made sure our waters were full and plates were taken away quickly once we finished. I even had a nice chat with the manager, Michael, who was checking on tables! Our waiter Josh was great and was very patient with us when we kept accidentally blowing out the candle on our table lol. We decided to split a caesar salad to start and they so kindly brought it out already portioned into two servings for us! My friend had the Hanger Steak which was fine, but the star of the show was my Wild Boar Bolognese. You absolutely have to get it if you love a pasta dish! The dinner portion was huge and so, so good. Overall we had a wonderful evening and felt very welcomed by the personable staff. The ambiance is SO cute! Warm, cozy, and perfect for a girls' night or a romantic dinner. The boar bolognese was absolutely the star of the night. Rich, flavorful, perfectly balanced. Our host was so kind, answered all questions and was not too pushy about allowing us to dine with them. Our service Nancy was the best and so was the entire staff from the Som to other servers. I haven't had service this well in Houston in a long time. I had the Caesar salad ($16) and added chicken. Bringing my total to $31. Now that was shocking, considering a chicken breast shouldn't be $16. but since the service was so great I gladly paid it. I will ask more price questions in the future. read more

I couldn't get enough of it every plate I had, everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors were just amazing. The restaurant is beautiful and great for a special occasion or date night. The staff are friendly, kind and on top of it, they got a great team and everyone is always taking care you. Now to the food: - the tuna tartare is good, refreshing, flavorful and on toast - SQUASH BLOSSOMS ARE A MUST - a seasonal item, one wasn't enough, I wanted more, you have to try them - the boar bolognese is perfect, great flavor and the half portion is enough for one, go with the full if you want left overs - ratatouille, great flavor and would be a great dish to share - creme brûlée is a must! Ambiance: - beautiful and romantic. Perfect for a date night. Service: - the staff are incredibly hospitable and kind. They are very welcoming and always checking in. The appetizers came out quick. However, the main course (snapper and ratatouille) took a long time. We had reservations for 5:30 but at 7:00 we were still there. We really REALLY wanted dessert but because we were there for a while and had another event, we had to leave. The manager knew we were celebrating something and immediately came to our table as we were signing the check to say he wanted to pack a surprise for us. He sent us home with a perfectly packaged chocolate entremet which I will say--DIVINE. I would come back in a heartbeat. Delicious french (and I think cajun fusion) food with perfect desserts. Another great Bludorn restaurant. We had the escargot, the duck, and the gnocchi - all of which I would eat again! The escargot was delicious and buttery but not greasy with the light pastry around it. The duck was perfectly tender with a not too sweet mango sauce on a bed of black rice. The gnocchi was delicious and when the restaurant misplaced our leftovers, they quickly made us a new half order to replace it free of cost. ambience is intimate and chic and it fits well within its home at the Hotel St. Augustine. We stayed there for Valentine's weekend and enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Perseid on Valentine's Day. We went to the lounge across from the restaurant after and had a great cocktail. We came here for our anniversary brunch before spending our day in the museum dist. It was our first time and we were greeted upon entry. We didn't have a reservation and sat at the bar which was fine for us. The grounds and restaurant are great. The hostess was pleasant and the bartender, Asia, was fantastic and made great drinks. The vibe of the restaurant is so great. A mix of old school french(ish) and modern. The food was also amazing. We will definitely be back and can highly suggest with confidence. read more

I felt my meal was amazing but almost cried when the waitress took my food away without offering a box. I know, I know, it may not be classy to take food home but, my stomach is finite and I really wanted to eat more later. The flavor of the Beef Bourguignon was amazing - loved it so much. The Wild Boar Bolognese was just ok per Brent - pasta's not typically my thing so just have his comment to rely on. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice as well. The layout was perfect - enough people near to be lively but, enough space to have a good conversation at the table. The decor was upscale but not quite my style but, all in all a very lovely dinner - we will be back. read more

We had a fantastic birthday dinner here and can't wait to come back. They're located inside of the Hotel Saint Augustine, but I would def recommend making a reservation. They have valet available for a fee, but we opted for street parking. The interior of the restaurant was so cute! It's located right across from the hotel bar. To start, we got the escargot and their complementary bread and butter. The escargot is a must!!!! Not soaked in butter like so many of us are used to, but very tender and perfectly balanced with the puff pastry. Our entrees included the half order of gnocchi, the duck, and the coq au vin. The duck was our clear favorite!!! The other entrees were good as well, but the duck was the stand out entree. For dessert we got the creme brûlée and the strawberry eclair. Both a good way to end the meal. Hubby liked the eclair better but I liked the creme brûlée better so it really comes down to personal preference. Service was excellent! Will def be back! read more

Found this gem through the Bludorn group. There's street parking and valet available. We were greeted by a lovely hostess and seated at a cozy corner booth. The restaurant is stunning; tables are nicely spaced out, unlike many places that cram seating together to the point where you're practically exchanging elbow grease. Our server, Andy, was wonderful: warm, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Loretto and Walk in the Park cocktails; the Loretto was fantastic. For the apps, we shared the Escargot en Vol-au-Vent and a Caesar Salad. The escargot is a MUST get, it felt like being reintroduced to your first pâté chaud. The sauce and the pastry were perfect. The mains, the Roasted Duck Breast was very good. I loved the red quinoa it came with, and although I was worried the fig might overpower the dish, it ended up being perfectly balanced. The Bolognese, Caesar Salad, and dessert were all solid as well //hard to mess up. Oh, and they have bread service! Overall, a lovely experience. Was able to visit Perseid recently to celebrate my birthday. Really enjoyed the new restaurant and its surroundings! Perseid is the hotel restaurant, but it's not a lobby restaurant by any means. It sits on the ground floor of a separate block of hotel rooms. So you really get the best of both worlds - the leisurely, non-rushed feel of dining at a hotel but without the "where is my airport Uber!" "I want an upgrade!" noise of a big city hotel. Food and drink were really great. The whiskey-based Loretto was great as the different items came out. After the complementary bread and butter, I ordered the smoked salmon dip and the wild boar bolognese. My partner went with the cauliflower soup and hanger steak. While French inspired, the menu offers a lot of variety and great flavors all around. For dessert, the eclair is pretty much art. It was probably my least favorite item from a taste perspective (a little dry) but it sure was eyecatching. Service had a slow start but was really good once it kicked in. We thought there might have been a timing issue with the kitchen as our apps were somewhat rushed away to bring out the entrees seconds later. Still, the team contributes to creating a great experience. Despite minor hiccups, I'll absolutely be back. A great combo of a neighborhood spot with hotel dynamics. Came back for dinner with friends and to try the full breadth of the menu. The service was wonderful and super attentive throughout our meal and the ambiance of the restaurant is upscale and romantic. It was restaurant week but we opted to order off the regular menu. Everything we ate was really amazing but the standouts to me were the tomato risotto and the pork chop. The risotto was truly special and the tomatoes were really able to shine. The ambience here is lovely. With large windows to look into the courtyard of the hotel with all its concrete and greenery and water features, it sets the mood. We were here for an early Sunday dinner summertime, so the light outside carried through. We tried several appetizers and a few large plates. Highlights for me were the squash blossom and the salmon dip. The Caesar salad was solid. My least favourite was the crawfish sausage...felt it was a bit one note with acid being forward. For the mains- the wild boar bolognese was homey and luscious. I actually really enjoyed the Snapper as well. Least favourite here for me was the pork chop. Desserts- how could we not! The crème brûlée with its tropical bits was just right, and the chocolate entremet was moist and well balanced! Service was good and somewhat humerous - though I did notice we had to keep asking for water top ups. All in all- I think it's a great and pretty place with solid food. Brunch is typically a "nice to have" for me. I love the concept as a meal to enjoy with friends, but, tbh, my expectation of the food, itself, is usually meh. In fact, when I think of brunch, I always want to go with the lavish brunch buffet, so that I can try many things. Maybe that's the reason for the expectations of mid. And it's precisely why I was so surprised with brunch at Perseid. When sharing my thoughts with my chef sister, I enthusiastically reported that every single dish I tried, without exception, was outstanding. Not just good. OUTSTANDING. Here's how it all played out..: I tried a bite of the very thick bacon from my friend's husband's sandwich, and it was dream bacon. Steak, but bacon. The giant pancakes were placed in the center of the table to be shared by all, and we devoured them: fluffy, tender, kissed with citrus butter and perfected by maple syrup. My entree was the beef short rib and eggs. WOW. Was that Wagyu? I'm pretty sure it was Wagyu. Exquisitely marbled and flavorful. The sunny side up egg provided richness to the perfectly seasoned mushrooms, and the potato pave was a delicious work of art. Even amongst all that perfection, what truly blew my mind? The OTHER potatoes. Someone at the table ordered a side of potatoes, and they were, by and large, the very best restaurant potatoes I've ever eaten. They were miraculously perfect: garlicky, buttery, and oh so crispy! So, so crispy. Unbelievably crispy. But the inside is exactly what you hope for: a bit of tenderness to remind you you're not eating a potato chip but, rather, a hearty, throughly satisfying potato dish. Place all of this deliciousness inside a beautiful dining room (modern nature-inspired decor: shades of green and wood) with large windows welcoming natural light, and you have brunch perfection. Wasn't a thing that was less than perfect. Pick your favorite and enjoy! The drinks -- I had an equivalent to a Japanese old fashioned and it was awesome. drink up! Service -- knowledgeable, attentive without being overburdening. I love chill but good service! Parking -- the hotel offers valet which is discounted to I believe $10 for dinner guests. The staff experience at Perseid was much better than the food experience. I was joyfully greeted and sat at the bar which was gratefully upgraded from the intense patio heat. The bartenders were prompt and made tasty drinks. We ordered the fig blossoms and the duck terrine to start. The deep fried blossoms were faintly present mixed in with the shrimp & but the creole aioli was overly salty (which would be a constant theme of the night unfortunately). The duck terrine was a tasteless amalgam that reminded me of a grandmother's jelly mold. The accompanying fluffy biscuit & fig jam were the stars. We got the red snapper and wild boar bolognese for entrees. The snapper was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin but the dreaded over salt appears again in the pine nut gremolata. (Maybe the sauce guy was having a bad night). The wild boar bolognese was great! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the bolognese was full of flavor. The service was top notch but overall the food did not catch up. The Bludorn group needs to pop in this kitchen for quality control among the numerous restaurant offerings. read more
