Philip is great and is a fantastic option if you're looking for a local AC guy. He's experienced, knowledgeable, professional, honest. It's his business and you always interact with him directly. He gives you his cell phone number and patiently answers all your questions as needed. He does the scheduling and he's the one that comes to do the work. When working (I had a cooling check done), he made sure to explain everything about my particular cooling system to me and took the time to answer any questions I had. It's obvious that he just wants to do good work and leave the customer happy. He's not looking to make more money than he's reasonably owed. When looking for an AC tech to check my cooling system, I briefly chatted with a bigger company who gave me inflated pricing for simple maintenance (they were also oddly ambiguous about contingency pricing). Philip was straightforward when we first spoke and gave me all his pricing, including any potential add-ons (super dirty coils, etc.). It was an easy choice. His prices are very reasonable. It was $80 for a cooling check (incl. a light condenser coil cleaning) and $60-$70 for a heating check (in April of this year, obviously prices are subject to change based on economical considerations). The only problem is he's busy! Since it's just him, he's booked way out in advance for maintenance. He does always leave openings for emergencies so don't hesitate to reach out to him. Came home to a smoldering AC, the house was filled with a cloud of light smoke. Turns out the control board fried and melted some wires. Thank God smoldering electrical components put itself out. Once I cut the power to the HVAC, I started calling for HVAC recommendations, and eventually got in touch with Philip Rembert of Rembert's Heating & Air. Mr. Rembert was very responsive and professional. Mr. Rembert did not have the very specific part my unit would need in stock, and because it was after hours the supplier was closed. However, first thing in the morning, Mr. Rembert called me to say he had my part and was on the way. The repair went very smoothly. Mr. Rembert is the owner with over 20 years of HVAC experience. He is fully licensed with the State of Texas and got the job done efficiently and competently. On top of that, he was very professional, patient with questions, and reasonably priced. We know we will need to replace our unit soon but he has gotten us through the last two years. Our teenaged HVAC unit began to have spotty air and heat production. Living in Texas, the panic always sets in... Is my A/C going out?!?! Argh!!!!! I posted a note on our neighborhood Nextdoor and received multiple recommendations for Rembert's. Additionally, Philip's wife reached out to me immediately and said they were available for appointment scheduling on Saturday. We needed a second opinion on whether we needed to replace the unit. Philip was willing to come out the next Monday to look at it. However, due illness, we rescheduled a couple of times. Once he came out, he diagnosed the situation quickly and on par with the first opinion we'd received. The difference was Philip was of the mindset, if I can repair it, let's repair it verses spending thousands replacing it. He replaced a capacitor with no guarantee it would last forever but a viable option to chose first. Philip Rembert quoted me a fair price. He showed up right on time and was very nice. We went around the house and through the house and looked at all the different equipment. He advised me on some stuff (air filters, batteries, etc.) and then told me exactly what the initial cost would be. As he did the work, he showed me more things that he could do or that I could do. Things he could do now or later. A very nice feature, for the very simple things. Some of them I had him do and some I did myself. After opening the a/c units up, he showed me what he was going to do and he did it. Afterwards, he walked me through all that was done and why and how it would help going forward.
