So last year after moving into a new house, Remcon was first on our mind for a larger bedroom addition to convert an open two story living room into a second story bedroom with loft. My wife and I had a vision and a design for the room layout and loft which also included a custom stair railing. I hired Remcon to remodel my kitchen and den and add a wet bar. It was a large job (62 handles were required for all of the cabinetry) that replaced everything in those areas after 30 years. I have been planning this for a long time, but I'm far from an expert, so I appreciated the team's, guidance and advice as we moved through each step of the project. Even though it was extensive, the job moved along at a fast pace and was completed in nine weeks, which I appreciated since I did opt to live in the house during construction. Ronen and his team did an amazing job building our forever home. Even with supply chain issues and normal construction obstacles, they pushed through and made sure every detail was completed to our satisfaction. Ronen was great at communicating at each step of the project to make sure our initial plan was carried through to reality. We hired Remcon to build our poolhouse bathroom and from start to finish Simo the project manager for Remcon was fantastic. He came out to look at the project after I was referred to him from our designer. He understood the scope of work and the timeline and came back very quickly with a very detailed line by line proposal. The pricing was in line with another vendor who quoted our project, but Remcon's customer service and attention to detail is excellent. Simo communicated very clearly every step of the way! The subs were on time and did great work. Talking to the subs, you could tell they've worked with Remcon for a long time and they are treated right (not my experience with other contractors). I am pretty high maintenance and have a high attention to detail. Simo guided me through the whole process, showed me where I could save money, recommended vendors for fixtures, door, window etc. When shopping for a Quartzite counter as one example, I think he took me to four or five stone stores, until I was happy with the price and quality! (we had a yard installation 10 times the cost of this bathroom and that contractor was no where near as helpful, responsive, timely or considerate as Simo!!) My wife and I completed a top-to-bottom remodel of our 2,000 sq. foot home. I'm someone who fixates on research and details. After reviewing contractors from Houzz, BuildZoom, Yelp, and word of mouth recommendations, we narrowed our search to 5 firms. Remcon was part of this shortlist, and we were extremely satisfied with our decision to move forward with them. Some highlights from our experience: 1. Remcon understood our budget. We're penny pinchers at heart, and they were upfront and transparent about what our project would cost. They were not the cheapest bid, but also not the most expensive. Upon our initial interaction, they gave us a sense of trust and reassurance. We felt they gave us the best value for our scope of work. Now before I dive in, I should also say that Remcon's staff was courteous and polite for the most part. I don't have any complaints with the inter-personal aspect of our relationship with them. But that's cold comfort when you have to give your newborn baby SHOWERS for half of the first year of her life because Remcon just couldn't get their crap together. So yeah, they're kind, but incompetent. We used Remcon for a very basic remodel of two small bathrooms. All told this basic project took nearly 8 months... And it really would have taken twice that if we weren't constantly pinging them requesting that they make some more progress. Sometimes they would just fall off the radar for weeks at a time... I should also mention that we were traveling for about 1.5 months of those 8 months, but still took way longer than it should have. Massively blown schedule aside, their workmanship was just plain awful. The design process was beyond painful... My wife and I own and operate a software company, so our free time is basically non-existent. In our initial quote with the sales guy we were told that a designer would be assigned that would basically design the whole thing based on our tastes, which was key given our busy schedules. But instead, we ended up designing the whole thing ourselves and the designer just nodded her head and said "yep that'll look fine". Just one example: we picked out a shower with a huge shower head because we thought it looked cool, but I was concerned that our water pressure wouldn't be sufficient to actually run it. The designer reassured us that it would be totally fine. Well, it's not fine. It sucks. Some of the little spouts in the shower head don't even light up at all. Turns out that shower head does NOT work with low water pressure. Note that I'm not complaining about the fact that that particular shower head didn't work with our crappy water pressure, I'm complaining that Remcon (the supposed remodel and bathroom experts) said that it would be fine, even after I explicitly raised that specific concern. We had to send back a half dozen or so components that just plain didn't fit. I had assumed that they actually knew how to source components that would actually work for the job... I guess my expectations were too high. Again, their incompetence was time consuming and costly for us. And the list goes on and on... We had to call them back multiple times due to crappy workmanship. Massive cracks and openings where they shouldn't be, broken hardware on the shower door slide, tiles installed incorrectly, wrong backplate on a valve, wrong size of base board, missing components, etc. etc. etc. But the worst part about the whole experience is that towards the end they started complaining about the GAS MONEY it was costing them to send people back to finish the job. One of our bathrooms was completely torn apart and they're complaining about gas money?? Pro tip for Remcon: do your job right the first time and you won't have to keep sending people out... read more

I contracted Remcon to remodel the 2 1/2 bathrooms in my townhouse, as well as to do some other updates to the upstairs (new linen cabinets, replace carpet, upgrade bedrooms, etc.). It was a pretty large project, and I'm glad I made the decision to hire Remcon, and I'm especially grateful for working with Simo Pinto. Simo was my project manager, and he was fantastic. With all the horror stories you hear about contractors, I feel like I got extremely lucky. From the moment he came out to see the place and give me a quote (Simo made time on a holiday because that worked with our schedule!), he was a true pleasure to work with. He always tried to get me the best quality at the very lowest price possible. At every stage, he did everything humanly possible to make me happy and help make sure I got the results I wanted. The contract was very specific and laid out everything that would be done. They do quote the labor separately-- and then whatever materials and finishes you choose are purchased directly from the vendor. I think this makes a BIG difference in helping people save money. Unlike other designers and contractors, they don't take a "cut" or a "markup" on everything you purchase. They get a significant contractor's discount and pass on ALL of that savings. ISimo took me shopping! We went all around town looking for tile, plumbing fixtures, and everything else we needed and he was helpful in choosing things that would look good as well as making sure all the specs would work. At every point of the project, it was clear that Simo was doing whatever he could to help me save money and get what I wanted. But the best part was Simo's responsiveness and communication. We were in constant contact by phone, email, and text, and he came over almost daily to make sure the project was going smoothly and things were being done correctly. He always tried to work around my schedule for meetings and necessary appointments. Tony was the lead working on the project--he was a super nice guy who paid attention to detail and did a great job keeping things moving. All the guys on the crew were great, and that's important when you have people hanging out in your home. Remodeling is stressful, obviously. There were various issues and problems that came up, but Simo was always reassuring and would do whatever it took to find a solution. I was able to feel fully confident that everything was being done right and that no one was trying to take advantage of me, and that made a HUGE difference. Plus, Simo is just a super nice guy. His conscientiousness and sense of humor make him great fun to be with. I definitely missed seeing him once the project was over! Both had a lot of good ideas during the design stage and helped us hone in on a final solution quickly. Simo helped us with the material selection. The sink we picked up was the wrong kind for under mounting. Had they given us parameters that could have gone over more smoothly. The garage disposal we had picked up was defective and we were without a garbage disposal for 9 days. It's not Remcon's fault, but scheduling the plumber back twice more was tricky. When going over the final walk through, they did address our concerns. They even had the granite countertop expert educate me on how to take care of my new countertops. That was a pleasant surprise! We set up a time to meet through Jose Vega regarding our complete kitchen remodel. When it came to be far past the predesignated appointment time with no one at our door, we decided to give him a call. Jose stated that he was not coming due to an inability to confirm an appointment time (even though we previously made the appointment directly with him). A check of our voicemails and phone records showed no calls were received and no voice mails were left attempting any confirmation. Remcon was a no call/no show and a total waste of time. It might be motivating to keep top of mind that there are countless other companies in your field also looking for new business and a high dollar payday...and who will surely extend the courtesy of reaching out when trying to initiate that all important, impression making first interface with a new customer. During our conversation you did state that you tried to call and confirm. However, I will again maintain that neither our cell phones nor landline showed any missed calls. This is a review for the process of meeting with them and *trying* to get a quote. Scheduling a meeting: I called them to schedule an appointment to see the property. Bella was the person assigned to me. She seemed very busy and seemed to only want to schedule the appointment with me at her own convenience, i.e., when she would already be in the area. Meeting with Bella at the property: I told Bella what my approximate budget was for a whole house remodel. She let me know it wasn't enough and I told her that was fine, let's see what can be done with my number. Please note that my number was by no means small. After showing her the things I wanted to accomplish she let me know that she would call me and give me a ballpark figure. Yes I said ballpark. She said that she didn't have time to do a quote in writing. She would only do a quote in writing if I was committed to going with Remcon. Hmmm, business must be really good! My husband and I did a lot of research on home remodeling companies. We had 6 quotes and we chose Remcon because the owner, Roy, was the only contractor that had a very creative solution to our idea that ended up saving us thousands of dollars and was by far, the best idea. His idea made our home addition look like it was always there and part of the existing structure of the house. Recently I renovated my master and kid's bathroom. I met with 4 different contractors before hiring Remcon. Remcon was not the most expensive, but not the cheapest either. While we had a good feeling from our initial meeting with Ronen, what pushed us over the edge was the fact that we had mutual connections. For that reason, we immediately had trust in Ronen which was important to us. Moving on to the project...I can be very challenging to work with because I'm slightly (or maybe more than slightly) OCD when it comes to details. Trust me when I say that I notice everything...and I expect that every little detail be perfect, especially when paying so much for renovation. The Remcon team did a fantastic job on our remodel. They converted our 3 bedroom, 2 3/4 bath house into a 4 bedroom 3 bath with master en suite dream. The bathroom off of the Master was a small 3/4 bath with a shower and we really wanted an en suite. Ronen came to the house the same day we called, asked what we envisioned for the space, and had a bid for us the next day. Rene and is his team were extremely courteous and attentive to detail, providing guidance on potential improvements based on their years of experience, including going to the home improvement store with us and helping choose the best products for the projects. They arrived on time every day, even on the weekend, and always stayed until at least 5 o'clock, making sure to clean up before they left for the evening. We have small children and a dog and Rene's team took extra care to ensure the doors remain closed and locked while they worked, even when they had to go in and out for supplies. They did such a great job with the en suite, we asked them to convert part of the Master bedroom space back into a 4th guest bedroom. We asked if they could get it done within ten days as we had guests coming. Ronen had a quote within an hour and Rene's crew started the next day. I recently finished a kitchen and bath remodel with Remcon Design Build and had a great experience. I highly recommend Remcon for home remodel and construction services. The project: Kitchen and bath remodel including downstairs flooring. After years of procrastination I received bids from several general contractors to give the kitchen a much needed facelift replacing original cabinets, counters, and tile floor throughout. Some friends from the neighborhood referred me to Remcon who used them for a major home remodel. Remcon's bid wasn't the lowest nor highest of the bids we received. Of the general contractors I met with, I felt most confident with Remcon based on early impressions of not only their ability to provide quality work, but also good communication and connection with the Project Manager Simo Pinto. The project started quickly after an agreed on and executed contract. Work was steady and consistent with nearly no gaps between subs (demo, flooring, cabinets, etc) and at times, several subs working at the same time where possible. All workers were courteous, clean, and delivered great work. Takeaways: In my opinion, the project was a success and completely satisfactory for two key reasons. First, great communication and diligence from our PM Simo. Simo made it clear they would not start our project until everything was in place including all materials and appliances. This prevented scheduling gaps and rework. Simo does not forget a thing. Second, I was prepared to come up with material selections without the help of a designer. I had an idea of what I wanted but was able to lean on Remcon to stay in bounds. They have seen it all. In a few cases I would have picked material that would not have been good for scale (tile size) or durability (stain-prone marble counters). We hired Remcon Design Build for 3 bathroom remodels in our traditional 115 year old house. They were professional, detail oriented and great communicators. Going with a design build company minimized our headache dealing with contractors/subcontractors, and the subs were well vetted and did solid work. They ended up on the job for close to a year because of the complexity of the plumbing and construction of our old home, and quite a few additional projects we tacked on. But Sibella (sales) was always friendly and responsive, and Lia (project manager) was patient, creative and a problem solver on our job. Remcon has done a wonderful job adding a master suite onto our house. From the first meeting, Ronan and Simo told it like it was. They were honest about the cost, the limits of the design, the duration of build, the disruption in the house, the 11+ inspections by the city, and the steps necessary to make this a success. The were kind, polite, funny, knowledgeable and also (appropriately) demanding, guiding, and pushing us to get our part done so everything would fit in the agreed upon timeline. They did not lead us to believe they would do everything and a magical master suite would appear in a month. They were very clear about our role, what we needed to do, and what we would need to decide on (the decisions, so, so many dozens and dozens of decisions). They gave us the choice to have them purchase and install ancillary devices, the air conditioner for instance, but we could save 10 ~ 15% in professional services costs if we handled the HVAC company ourselves. Needless to say, they handled the teams who dug the footings, poured the cement, raised the walls, ran the electrical, etc. We let them handle some of the things we could have done ourselves, like the tub and bathroom fixtures pickup and delivery, while we acquired cabinetry, wood flooring, tile, and the air conditioner, to name a few. . It's the little things, right? Some examples: The city planning dept initially approved our design and then decided to deny the design by upholding some setback that they had let others in our neighborhood get away with in the past. Remcon took responsibility, helped us redesign, got the plans approved by the city, and did not increase the cost of the project that actually turned out better (and a little bit larger) than it otherwise would have been. Note: the build is still on so this will be one of several entries. So far, so good. read more

AWESOME experience! Everyone at REMCON is professional and courteous. We bought a new kitchen at Ikea and were referred to another installer, they were booked through February. Remcon was busy too but they worked with our schedule and installed our kitchen within days!!! They bent over backwards to accommodate our deadlines, work schedules and even my son's nap schedule. Their work is top notch and when Ikea shipped several wrong cabinets the guys came back at a later time to finish the job. Great communication with John, professional crew and attention to detail. Thank you Remcon! Our bathroom remodel was fantastic! We started off with a really small bathroom and no closet and ended up with a beautiful vintage looking bathroom with a walk in closet. Our budget was a bit tight and we for sure thought we'd end up going over however Ronen came over and discussed all kinds of options, we ended up under our budget! Ya that like never happens! The consultation was very visual since he was able to put the lay out on his Ipad and we could actually see what it would look like. Ronen also went with us to pick out the tile and paired it perfectly with the look I wanted. I'm glad I listened to his opinion. There weren't any surprise hidden fees and he was very upfront about how much everything would cost. Again something that rarely happens! When the workers came the first and foremost impression they gave was clean; there was butcher paper and plastic in all the right places and when they were done, everything was vacuumed and left very clean. The project took 3 weeks, but mainly due to the bathtub and tile that we wanted being late. The workers were respectful and worked hard. We have contacted Remcon for another project in our backyard and I'm sure we'll be pleased. read more

Highly Recommend Rimcon Design and Lia as the Project Manager! Originally estimated at 6weeks for the LR, Dinning Room, and Kitchen remodel but then adjusted to 5 weeks and then they finished in 4 weeks, which is unheard of! Lia was there every step of the way making sure the workers were doing everything that needed to get done and she didn't skip a beat. The workers did a great job and very respectful wearing masks as needed. We had a great experience with Remcon. Our Master bathroom was in major need of updates, and when our original contractor kept getting delayed right before Christmas we needed help and we needed it fast! Remcon came in and took over our demolished bathroom, and within 10 days we had a fully completed, functional, and beautiful bathroom! We first met with Sibella, who did everything in her power to get the project started quickly. Lia was our project manager who handled all of our questions and concerns, and made sure everything stayed on schedule. And Tony, our main contractor, showed up everyday right on time and did great work! He was always very professional and his work areas were always kept clean and tidy. First, I'm not much of a Yelp /Google user, and this recommendation is about Remcon, not the information management. We met with Sibella, who does the initial walkthrough and bid. I was most pleased that their business model encourages all the major purchases being done directly with the company who provides product. For us, these included the kitchen cabinet manufacturer, countertop slab and tile distributor, kitchen appliance distributors, etc. Our contract stated a certain number of weeks to complete the total demolition, installation, finishing and touch-up. They stuck fastidiously to the schedule and managed the few trades that were not employees, so that the install process was seamless. Most of their trades were employees, which was good to see. I like seeing a strong management team, especially when it involves other people in our home on a daily basis. As time went on, we became quite comfortable with their employees in our home and trusted them completely. Once the contractual arrangements are made, Sibella hands the project demolition and completion to Lia, who is best described as their GM/Superintendent. We found Lia quite knowledgeable about both product and processes of all the functions involved, more that competent in managing the work flow, and resolved any hiccups both quickly and professionally. We inquired about changes and additions, and she readily advised which were more affordable and why. These people hit all the high marks for affordability, timely completion, trustworthiness and professionalism. As a person who deals in sub-contractor trades in my career, it was clear to me that customer happiness was at the top of the Remcon company culture. I look forward to involving Remcon in future projects and whole-heartedly recommend them. read more

We had Remcon design and build our bathroom remodel, and I have only the highest praise for this company. First, and foremost, Simo Pinto is a joy to work with. We did not employ a separate designer for this projects, and Simo helped every step of the way, offering both aesthetic and practical advice as well as ensuring that we were given the best possible price on the various parts. He regularly met with my wife on shopping expeditions. The work itself was done by craftsmen who took a lot of pride in their work, and Simo's attention to detail was extraordinary. Plus, he made sure that the house was as clean as possible by wrapping every conceivable surface in plastic. All told, I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Before/after photos say it all (in a good way). I went with remcon to remodel my kitchen after a friend recommended them. I'm giving 4 stars because there were a few hiccups along the way and the project took longer to finish than expected, but everything turned out beautifully. Simo was very responsive and accommodating throughout the project and I felt he was a good representative of my interests when dealing with subcontractors. The only cost I feel was excessive was the canned lights. I have been told by a bunch of friends that the total price I paid was very good. Overall I now have a beautiful kitchen and am happy with the quality :) read more

This review is long overdue! I'm giving the 5 stars based on our interaction with Ronen. Although we didn't move forward with our project due to major life changes coming our way, I really appreciated his professionalism. I was impressed by his honesty and the fact that he took our budget seriously. He listened to our concerns and was very realistic about what to expect when it comes to taking on an addition project. He also provided us with out of the box ideas on additions to our home. I have full intentions on partnering with Remcon when the dust settles with our life changes because of our positive interactions. Highly recommend to chat with these folks if you decide to take on major projects for your home. Oh and the awesome bonus to this business??! They have a super adorable Boxer!
