Very disappointed! These so called hero's have a limit of how much money you have to spend to have them even quote your job. I explained I needed some work done in my garage and was told "your project is to small for us" as a business owner myself in "construction" we have never turned away work. Communication was rocky at first due to technical challenges. Somehow I fell through the cracks as a result of those challenges. Mo contacted me to let know what happened and we rescheduled our virtual consultation. After the consultation, I scheduled the job to install a fireplace mantel I purchased. A bit more of a communication delay when I requested what time window I was to expect. I didnt get an immediate reply. I did get a reminder email with the time frame. Luke did a fantastic job. Courteous, professional, friendly. I felt he wanted the job to be perfect. He thought the anchors he used were too small so he made a run to the hardware store to get the better anchors. He really took care as he installed the mantel. Cleaned as he went. Really loved the finished product! Check out my before and after pics! I'm big on communication and yes, there were some hiccups. Nothing major. What I really appreciated was the follow up explaining the "why". Not all businesses do that. I'll be contacting Handy Heroes for future home projects. read more

I love Luke and his team. We have a lovely midcenturn home with aluminum windows from 1964 and Luke and his team helped us put in 11 new windows with one completely new window. It took a while and there were some windows where the caulking was sloppy, but Luke and his team fixed it up as soon as I pointed it out. Luke is also just the nicest guy. Our neighbor had something wrong with his car and we were all outside staring at it, and Luke actually took the time and energy to help him out. Would definitely use them again. read more

Handy Heroes made my day! I appreciated the prompt communicating leading up to scheduling the visit and arranged to have Athos spend 3 hours at my house checking off all my todos. I would highly recommend using Handy Heroes, particularly if you have a long list of todos that just don't seem to get done. In three hours, Athos recaulked my tub, fixed my door knob, replaces three light switches, hung a light fixture, installed a smoke alarm, removed four odd devices that the previous owners had, fixed two sticky doors, removed a bunch of random screws and brackets. He also answered a bunch of my questions and was very respectful and courteous. This is a way overdue review. We hired HH to assemble and install a pair of sliding doors for us. They made sure to do a thorough job. When they said they're sending one guy to do the whole project I was surprised because the door opening is very large and it's definitely a two person job. The guy they sent was diligent and thorough but did get part of the door assembly backwards because he was working by himself so had no one to double check... he had to undo and redo quite a bit of work. It also resulted in holes in the wood door that needed to be patched with putty... not ideal but in our case we managed a work-around. All in all, we had a good experience and would hire HH again. The entire process was simple, efficient and Mo was able to get me scheduled within a week after we got the materials. Wish things had turned out differently, but I can't say my experience was more than two stars as defined by Yelp (ie 'Meh. I've experience better'). I hired Handy Heroes to repair/reglaze/repaint sun-damaged exterior windows on an old Craftsman house. First the positives: Their estimate seemed fair, meaning what I expected to pay for the work, and was half of what another company quoted me. The employees I interacted with on the phone and in person were polite and professional. My windows are now reglazed. The negatives: The job took 5+ days instead of the 2-3 expected. Attention to detail was lacking at times...like when a worker painted all the windows shut. And then, in the processes of correcting that mistake, broke a window. Replacement of the cracked glass pane took 2 days. Completed job looks sloppy in places from the inside, with thick and uneven slabs of glazing putty along many of the frames. Finally, I had to clean up tons of paint chips, dried glazing chunks and even some pieces of broken glass outside the house where the work was done. So there it is. I might consider giving them another chance but the project terms and expectations would have to be much more clearly defined. read more
