I bought a 3 treatment package. While they did fade, one more than the other. The other tattoo looks like it faded maybe 15 %. I then tried to but the full package and they wouldn't discount the money I had originally paid, which was 400. I don't have another 1300 to dish out. All in all, I wish I would have done more research. I guess if you have the time or money, best of luck. I did fail to mention, both tattoos are about less than an inch in height and width. read more

I've been going to Removery for years and up until the last year I've had a very positive experience. I have two tattoos I've removing and bought the full removal package. Not cheap, but I have stubborn tattoos. In the last year they significantly cut back on the hours they're open which makes it so hard to get an appointment. I haven't had consistent techs anymore and because I have stubborn tattoos every tech looks at my file and tells me they want to try something new. Within the last year I've even had a tech tell me while I was already at the appointment that she didn't want to treat me because she wasn't sure what to do with my tattoos. Mind you, I had already been years into my treatment journey so it was kind of unsettling she didn't know what the next step was in my treatment plan. She said she would bring it to "corporate" for review and get back to me. She never did. I went ahead and rescheduled and lo and behold, there still wasn't a solid treatment plan. Now, because of scheduling challenges, I've been bounced over from Lincoln Square to the Bucktown location. I'm really upset because I have no consistent treatment course with all the switching of techs and now switching locations. I have a tattoo I want to lighten up for a touch-up and I think I'm going to go elsewhere because the quality has really gone downhill at Removery. read more

Went for a free consultation today and it went smoothly. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Very very extremely clean. They take Covid measures seriously here and I appreciate that. The door is locked and you have to wait for the receptionist to physically open the door for you( I thought there was a buzzard and I kept pulling on the door like an a hole.) There is pay to park but you can also snag some free spots along the side streets if you're lucky! Sarah was friendly and knowledgeable. She cut right to the chase. Their base price is 79.00 (per quarter size) but that doesn't include how big it is, color, placement, etc. I got a pretty affordable quote and in doing research, this is definitely the most affordable I've yet to find. It's important to know that this process can take up to 2 years and have to go several sessions as the average is 8-18 sessions. It's insane but worth it if you have your mistakes written on you. read more

I have been a client at vamoose before it became recovery and was very happy with the service. A few things have changed since I last went in for a session in 2021. They no longer offer numbing cream (or perhaps I no longer need it since I am nearing the end of treatment). They no longer provide bandages for the area, which was also fine. They also have a kind of weird survey to assess your skin tone & melanin level, which notably only has skin color options up to "dark tan". And they seem to have more appointments scheduled at one time - when I would go in 2020/2021 I never saw another client in the space, this time I saw two! Despite these corporate shifts that I have mentioned and others in these Yelp & Google reviews, the staff is pretty great. Emma was really helpful, understanding, and chill when I came in, which i appreciate after avoiding Removery like the plague. The new pricing is kind of absurd but FWIW, I went to a Laseraway on my Removery hiatus, and the pricing was comparable, but they seemed less competent than the vamoose/Removery staff at the removal. read more

Unfortunately service has gone downhill fast since they were bought out. I started with them when they were Vamoose, and was much happier. Now to communicate with them in any way, the only option is to call a national hotline. You have to go through a menu of options then wait on hold, after which there's a 50/50 chance between actually talking to someone or getting hung up on. Scheduling appointments has become an excruciating and frustrating process that I wish I didn't have to deal with anymore, but I still have at least 4-5 treatments left. After trying to get through three times, I guess they will just find out I can't make my appointment this week when I don't show up, unless my last resort of posting online gets them to contact me. As usual when a great local place gets bought by a large national chain, everything that made it a great local place disappears. read more

Oh man! Okies so if you're like me, you're reading this comment because you're vetting places by experiences. This is my first time removing a tattoo, from the second I walked in, I was warmly greeted and felt at ease. I went to the Lincoln square location, Sarah was my tech. The consultation was lovely, quick and efficient. They were transparent in their costs, and open to any and all questions. The day of my appointment, Moony (I hope I spelled her name right) was so welcoming and it was like just hanging out with friends. However, the winning process is the cooling effect which makes ALL the difference. It helps. So much! I wanted to give an update on my removal process. It'll be a year soon since I started my journey (wow!), and the tattoo on my neck is barely noticeable. The red is gone and the black outline is like a pencil line that's been erased - just a suggestion of a line. The one below it has been stubborn, the tattooer jammed a ton of ink into it, and it was always raised. I think we're 5 or 6 sessions in and FINALLY, I can no longer "feel" my tattoo, it's completely flat and I can really see the changes now. My last session was in August, and the top tattoo required just a few seconds of laser, and the stubborn bottom one was maybe 30-45 seconds. I didn't have any residual pain or twinges, just a little itching. Again, the staff is amazing, Alexandra is always wonderful, and they have a bowl of Yum Earth organic lollipops on the front desk! Like others, I had thought the tattoo removal process would be painful & scarring. Vamoose changed that idea immediately. The whole process only took 15 mins, it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be, they use this cooling spray while ist being done even after it was done it just felt like a sunburn. Patti was phenomenal in explaining everything & even called the next day to check on my healing. The cost was not as expensive as I had thought either. 3 removal sittings would be the same as the 1 sitting to get the tattoo, so that's worth it my book. I've been to one other tattoo removal place, and there are some very distinct difference that make Vamoose stand out. For starters, the office is new, modern and comfortable. Booking appointments is an easy process and they send out email reminders a couple of days prior to the appointment. I like that they specialize in just tattoo removal. The place I went to before also did hair removal and plastic surgery. They did tattoo removal one day per week, during a very small time frame. At Vamoose I can schedule to come in when it's convenient for me. Pricing is exceptional. I am paying less than half what I was paying at the other place for the exact same tattoo. Although Vamoose does not offer numbing shots, they do have a cooling system that they apply at the same time that they laser, so it's really not that unpleasant. Patti is fantastic, she's friendly, professional and makes me feel at ease. It's been 3 weeks since my session and I can definitely see some impressive results. I highly recommend this place. I went in for an initial consultation last week and today I had my first treatment. At the consultation, I pretty much knew what they were gonna say since I've already been to a couple other places for a consultation. The moment I walked into Vamoose Nikki, the lovely young lady at the front desk, was incredibly friendly and polite. Alexandra, the lady who actually does the treatment, was just as nice and charming. She took her time explaining the whole process to me and answered all of my questions. My treatment today took under 10 minutes, then again my tattoo isn't that big. This place is really charming, nicely updated and very clean. Went here for eyebrow tattoo removal. I was researching on the different type of lasers and this one uses the nano laser which is what I am looking for. Only had 1 session but the tech answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Pain was not too bad, I only had ice pack to the area. If you wanted pain numbing cream you will have to ask for it. If you come for eyebrows tattoo, your eyebrows will be shaved off. Well you have a choice to not shave it off but the laser will burn it off anyways so you might as well shave it off and get the full benefit of the laser light beam. The redness and recovery took about a few days. It was easy to book for the appointment and the pricing is reasonable. I would go back again. read more

I have been going to Vamoose for a year. It is the second place I've been to for tattoo removal. My removal job is extensive. I'm removing all of my 10 tattoos including a partial sleeve and a chest piece. They gave us a fair price for the work and their staff and technicians are very nice and respectful. Although I am aware of tattoo removal and the process (from another facility) Patti was very helpful in explaining how THEIR laser works- as compared to others out on the market. I was given realistic expectations... like even though it's an old tattoo... I'm trying to remove something permanent!! So it was made clear to me that tattoo removal is a process that takes patience! Laser settings are chosen according to skin type, density or color of ink. So she treats me on settings that are SAFE and produce results that won't permanently damage my body. They offer emla for numbing as well but I opted for the cooling machine they have. The office is very clean, modern, and even has a cool vibe. They have water and candy in the waiting area, along with free beer cozies! Or is it coozies? I've been to Vamoose twice now. I had had a number of treatments at another place before it went out of business. On my first visit, I had a consultation, then they were able to do my first treatment right away. The ladies are so nice, treatments are quick and efficient, scheduling is convenient (with calendar invites and text / email reminders), the office is lovely, and the price is reasonable. While I can't yet comment on my removal progress at this location, I can thank both Alexandra and the receptionist for being incredibly friendly and extremely professional! I would not waste my time with them. The staff is great, really nice and professional. But their machine sucks and they don't know how to use it. After about 11 sessions my tattoo is barely faded. I'm fed up, they keep telling me that it's my "body" "my immune system" "the ink of the tattoo". I get it everybody's body is different. But my tattoo doesn't have 6 different colors. It's Roman numerals date on my shoulder. It's a small tattoo, this should have been gone at least 4 sessions ago. I'm trying hinsight tatto removal at the moment. I had my first session today. They even said they've had 15 people come with the same problem like mine, coming from places that use the same machine as Vamoose. Let's see how it goes. read more
