Some comments on Renato's 1. The vibe is really cool - if its cool enough outside I'd recommend sitting out in their courtyard but otherwise inside is very nice too! Reminds me of a fancy rail car in the main dining area and then there is the courtyard and a wine room or something on the other side 2. Service is great! Everyone is so friendly and there are plenty of people walking around offering refills and clearing plates. Food came out very quick 3. Food - eh... really surprised that they don't offer any homemade pasta other than what's on special. Guess we should have looked at that before going but its priced as if its homemade food. There isn't a noodle you can order or swap to thats home made. We got the chicken parm and rigatoni a la vodka. The chicken cutlet for the parm was over cooked, you could taste that it was a little burnt / too well done. Came with spaghetti that again was not homemade and no homemade noodle to swap in. Valentine's Day at Renato's and wow... this place is something special. It genuinely felt like we stepped into a romantic little escape in Italy. The ambiance alone is enough to bring me back, sooo gorgeous and intimate in the best way! We started with a hugo spritz, probably the best one I've had in Florida. Super refreshing and perfectly balanced. The oysters were also really good, fresh and enjoyable. I'm sad I didn't grab a photo of the Fiori di Zucca (tempura stuffed zucchini blossoms) because they were a standout for me. Light, crispy, and well done. The Polpo Arrostito (roasted octopus) unfortunately missed the mark for me. The texture was pretty rubbery which made it hard to enjoy. We also had the Pappardelle Vitello e Funghi (pappardelle with veal and wild mushroom ragu), which was good, but not something I'd rush to order again with so many other options on the menu. Service was excellent from start to finish. Super attentive without being overbearing, and they even noticed my purse slipping off my chair and brought over a little stand for it, which was such a thoughtful touch. Dined here on a Saturday evening and this place was busy. Reservations are a must. I love that this restaurant gives off two vibes - old school New York on the inside and Italy on the outside. Service was great - our wine glasses were always full and the servers made great recommendations. We ordered a seafood app with shrimp and crab to start - fish was fresh and good portion. We also ordered the zucchini app stuffed with cheese which was also very good. My bf ordered the risotto with lobster and I ordered the spaghetti fra diavolo- the sauce was good but my bf's lobster was more tender. This place has a very good vibe. It is expensive but priced like any other upscale restaurant. It was our anniversary. Nice place to go. We ordered one of the cheaper bottles of wine and we liked it. I had the rigatoni vodka and it was good. The Caesar salad was okay. My wife had the lobster spaghetti and she liked it. Everything was good but being in Italy just recently the sauces weren't nearly as good. The service here is top notch. It felt like 10 different people came to our table. What a treat to lunch on the garden patio of Renatos. Wonderful service with extremely attentive wait staff. The fresh bread and salads were delicious although a bit overpriced for what you received. This is Palm Beach however and the setting is exquisite. What we didn't love were the ladies from the surrounding shops who approach your table and model clothes to entice you to come visit. Consistently excellent. I was excited to bring one of my daughters to Renatos. It has been a required stop every year when we come to the area. A beautiful night the day after Christmas and we sat in the courtyard. With the trees trimmed in lights it feels a little magical. Opted for trio of shellfish for an appetizer and was not disappointed. Two jumbo shrimp, two crab claws, and lump crab meat. All were delicious! My daughter agreed. Phew!, so far so good. I ordered the spaghetti with lobster fra diablo sauce. On point as usual. Wife got the bolognese and hers was excellent. Daughter got rigatoni in a vodka sauce which she said was very good and gave it a 4.5. It might have been a hair al dente for her. My friend and I were craving Italian for dinner and found this spot to try. We waited at the bar in the meantime for a drink. Bartender was not the friendliest, kind of snobby. She did not acknowledge us even tho we were the only ones at the bar. Finally we got a table to sit down. It took forever for someone to notice us. We had to stop a waiter for a menu before someone brought bread out. Food wise, the warm olive bread with butter and fettuccine al salmone were delicious. I could not have been more disappointed in our food at Renato's in Palm Beach. The atmosphere is beautiful and elegant w/outdoor seating. We started with oyster appetizer, 6 for $40. The were fresh & tasty. Then we tried the Fois Gras. A tiny piece, smothered in cherry & port wine reduction. It was over cooked with charred edges. I've always had it as smooth & creamy, so I may have missed something here. Next, we tried Octopus. Very rubbery, overdone. finally, my husband ordered Veal Scallopini. Again, very chewy, not terribly tasty and came with side of Broccoli Rabe. The one thing I can say is the wait staff is EXCEPTIONAL. I feel bad for them as they really work hard to please. We had a great time here and the wait staff were very attentive. We loved the pasta as it was a great meat sauce and al dente, however the chicken wrapped with prosciutto was terribly overcooked. They split the dishes for us which was very kind but the size of the chicken was ridiculously small and I think it was "less noticeable" next to the pasta. If that chicken came out alone, we would've returned it, it was that small. The app was ricotta stuffed zucchini blossoms and only came w 2 pieces. It was good but I wouldn't necessarily spend $25 for it again. I ordered the Sauvignon Blanc and that was crisp light and delicious My husband ordered the Malbec and it was too light with no body for his liking. Had a work lunch here today and it was a great atmosphere inside. It is a formal establishment without a doubt and great to sit in the courtyard. There were some cute dogs hanging around as well. Visited on 4th of July with my mom while perusing the courtyard area and while staff and service is exceptional, it seems the view this spot has to the courtyard was obstructed by construction. Food wise this was very reminiscent to little Italy in NYC, which isn't exactly a compliment. The food didn't match the atmosphere or service, everything gave upscale but the food lacked flavor richness, was also surprised how al dente our pasta was. We ordered the rigatoni vodka and penne caprese. Overall, I'd probably try the pizza spot nearby next time as for price and taste this just didn't hit the spot. read more

Here we are in Royal Palm Beach, and on the main drag, where all the shops and high-end restaurants are, down the alley,is probably one of the one of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten at. We made a reservation and we decided to sit inside due to the humidity. They have a small inside Restaurant and a courtyard area. Our server was very attentive, including the bus/Waterboy that was assisting him. Let's get to the food, it was outstanding! I would highly recommend coming here. The wife, had a real dish with. With Gorgonzola cheese that she loved I also had a real dish that was completely outstanding. I apologize for not having any pictures as this place it's not the type of place that you start to pull out your cell phone and take pictures of your food. As you can imagine the course were not cheap but relatively were not that expensive. The quality of the food overcame a little more expensive. If you're in Palm Beach, I would recommend this highly. read more

Adorable spot in Palm Beach with a quant inside and a lovely courtyard. It has a distinct European feel. It's very old school (your grandparents and parents would love it)! They have a great wine menu and a great food menu too. Lots of options to choose from and some very unique dishes you won't see anywhere else. They also had a fair amount of delicious nightly specials. Service was great when we arrived (we were the only people there). We started with a bottle of French white wine and their fiori di zucca (zucchini blossoms) and confit d' Anatra (duck confit). Both were great. Loved the duck. It was delicious and cooked very well. For dinner we had two pasta dishes - the ravioli con funghi which came highly recommended (outstanding dish) and a summer pasta special. They did rush us a bit, which flustered me, hence the 4 out of 5, and not 5 rating. The food came out super fast, not sure why, but I would 100% come back. Five star service, both at the bar and at the table, the smartly dressed wait staff is diligent, competent and friendly. Attention to detail is paramount in this restaurant, and you pay for it. The menu is Italian authentic and I have never had a bad dish (the duck!!). The price is high - four stars. Dining at Renato's for the first time is truly an experience. There is complimentary valet parking once you arrive and it was such a delight walking through Mizner Square to arrive upon the restaurant. It's dark and romantic inside and the outdoor area is completely lit up & adorned with flowers. Breathtaking! Even though the restaurant was full, the tables weren't so closely packed together that I could overhear anyone's conversation. The little details made Renato's memorable for me: -Hot Bread & Soft Butter -Rack to hold leftovers bag -Attentive staff (noticed immediately when my husband dropped his knife & brought a new one) -Bowl to discard clam shells -Live music -Fresh blocks of Parmesan -Packed our leftovers for us On to the food, The soft shell crab dish I did not love. My partner did though. The linguini allá vongole was so delicious. The flavor was so robust. I will be having this again. The spaghettini fra diavola was good. The vongole was so amazing, I couldn't enjoy anything else without comparing it. The servings were filling. Stepping into this amazing courtyard with bougainvillea everywhere on our way to Renato's for brunch took me back to Italy!! I fell in love with this beautiful, romantic place. We sat outside in the courtyard because it was a beautiful day, but it was also very charming inside with all the red leather chairs and beautiful wood furniture. The bar was so inviting and exquisitely made. I was in a daze walking through there! I ordered Eggs Benedict, which were delicious and perfectly cooked. I had an Iced Tea with that. My daughter ordered the Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine dish, which she said was very good. Complimentary Italian bread was also given with our meals. For our dessert, we shared the lava cake, which was amazingly good! The best that I have ever tasted. The service was exceptional. There were three servers who catered to our wishes and checked on us at all times while also checking on the other guests. They are an amazing team. Renato's used to be in our regular rotation, however, the last year or two we had some mediocre meals and lackluster service. I'm happy to report that when we went last week with a large group, the food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their dinner. We had a table in the courtyard on a beautiful night, which was nice. A great deal of up-selling going on in terms of drinks and desserts. The veal scallopini was OK - not great. The clams linguini was awful. The baby clams sat in the bottom of the bowl mixed with olive oil and a few shreds of garlic. The pasta, which wasn't even a traditional linguini noodle, was cold and just stacked on top. It had not been tossed and had virtually no flavor. Go to Renato's for the attentive service and the ambience, but don't expect 5 star level of food.
