American My buddy and I get together monthly to catch up and have dinner and drinks and we typically look for something that is memorable - until it isn't then we move on again. We were looking for that "new" location and cam across Del Mar over in West Palm and decided to check it out. Part of an entirely new development risen from the ashes of a somewhat down-trodden area, there are restaurants, shops and apartments and I want to say a hotel as well nearby. We popped in and the first thing that caught our attention was the nicely appointed courtyard - as it was overly hot and humid, we passed on that and headed in... maybe we will revisit in the cooler months. Inside the place we found the fairly large bar and as that is our typical spot, we grabbed two seats and got some drinks going. They have a somewhat limited happy hour with a few specific drinks and apps at HH prices so we tried drinks from the signature specials that were on offer. Not bad but I tend to stick with my usual. In any case, we ordered some apps and the food is very good. We've been there three times now and bartenders range from decent to meh - but they get the job done and make decent drinks.. just not much in the way of personality. On the other hand, all three times we have met and conversed with new and interesting patrons - which is always fun in my opinion. The restauarant itself is quite beautifulyl decorated and as I like to say, you can't eat the decorations - but the food certinaly shines here. There is an open kitchen as well if that is your thing but again, we tend to just stay at the bar area. Bathrooms are fabulous... you get your own little room with a locking door... nice- especially when you need to adjust the boys or want 5 minutes of quiet time. Definitely looking forward to the cooler months and that outdoor patio and bar... Parking is paid lots of there is a valet service for the entire complex a well- or I suppose you could park further out and hoof it in if you don't like to spend for parking. Overall a fine spot and a great addition to my usual haunts. read more

Beautiful new restaurant located in NORA in West Palm Beach. Valet parking right out front. The restaurant has a beautiful deisgn inside with deep wood and a zen garden-like greenery throughout. Elevated and upscale design. There is a large square bar in the middle with comfortable chairs around it - many people were dining there. Cozy tables and booths make up the other rooms of the restaurant. There is also a patio area outside that is very lush with another bar. We tried all of the dips - hummus, tzatziki, roasted red pepper and another. All were great and served with fresh warm pita. Turkish flatbread was good, almost a breadstick/pretzel-like crust. The branzino was delicious as well. Great addition to the area. Our server was kind and attentive with good knowledge of the menu. read more

It was my sons 45 th birthday his 3 boys and wife, my wife and I my oldest daughter and her 2 girls have never been here before. Beautiful laid back interior. For appetizers we shared grilled Octopus, hummus. And a Greek yogurt. As well as a large seafood stack to share. I had the 16 oz Ribeye I have eaten at a lot of good and great Steak places. I have never had anything that was so flavorful and tender the sauce no idea unbelievable My wife had salmon the portions were very large and delicious Branzino for my Daughter. Cooked to perfection. Firstly, the food is solid here. Nothing was amazing IMO, but it's fairly good and the atmosphere is very nice. One can tell they're still going through some growing pains and the staff seemed frazzled and rushed at times. Other parties weren't getting their food in a timely fashion and we saw some customer service type table visits (although personally we had zero issues - everything came as planned and relatively quickly). I like this new area will plan to come back. I get the feeling things will smooth out and improve with time. As I said before, the food was good and worth trying again. read more

The food here was divine so that's the reason for the five stars when we dined here with friends on a recent Saturday night; The food outweighed a few minor glitches in service -- not from our server, Tatiana, who was good -- but from the support staff. There is valet parking right out front of the restaurant for $5. And also, a paid parking lot across the street. The restaurant was packed at 6 pm. I was surprised as it is May, it was early, and they haven't been open for very long. The decor is lovely. The loud techno music, with a repetitive drum beat over and over, did not go with the ambiance. They have a large bar, seating on an outside patio and seating inside. Everything to order for the main meal is listed on their menu, that is, there were no additional specials. We were seated near the kitchen, so we heard all the orders and directions of the staff and also got to see many of the dishes made or pass us by. We started off by sharing a gem salad. It was quite good with added anchovies, although I've always thought of gem lettuce as being more tender than romaine and this was crisper. Our friends shared the caramelized onion bread. It was a dish of tear apart rolls with added cheeses and an herby yogurt dip. For the main entrees, my husband had the scallops. He was happy with his meal. She had the snapper and remarked on the lightness of the fish. She also liked her meal. I shared the small roasted shellfish platter with her husband. This was fantastic. It contained lobster, clams, mussels, scallops, and shrimp. They were all "fire roasted" cooked through and served with a large piece of lemon and a whole head of garlic. The sauce beneath the shellfish was delicious and perfect for dipping in the accompanying bread toasts. A few of the glitches were having to ask for cocktail sauce and butter several times; being served our food but not given plates or silverware; wanting to open the covered shellfish platter before we had anyway to eat it; staff trying to remove the onion bread before our friends were done with it; arguing with our friend over the type of plate he wanted to keep -- it was the right size and unused -- as it "had the wrong design"(!); trying to serve us a salad we hadn't ordered and not taking no for an answer when we said so. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse espresso cake. We each had a bite. It was rich, dense and oh so chocolatey. I'm sure they will iron out the training of the support staff as they go along. And I wouldn't hesitate to come back for another superb meal. In fact, I'd recommend you come here soon in the "off season" as it will be impossible to get in once season returns. read more

An evening dining with friends here at Del Mar. 3 weeks open and they are boomin'. Ambiance is very nice and the menu has something for everyone. A couple of rough spots in service; having to ask for butter 4 times and cocktail sauce 5 times. Staff wanted to clear specialty bread before it was finished, entrees delivered and had to wait for utensils to eat with ... other than that, the quality of the food nullified the service faux pas. I had the Scallops which were very good. My wife and I shared the Gem salad with anchovies. Another hit from the kitchen! read more

All I can say is WOW! This might be some of the best food in town! We ordered many dishes and we couldn't stop eating! The loaded hummus is what savory girl dreams are made of! We had a wonderful experience at Del Mar last night. Definitely a 5/5. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. It's a large space, but it feels very thoughtfully designed, with different indoor sections as well as a gorgeous outdoor area. The whole restaurant feels upscale, lively, and inviting. The service was also excellent. The staff seemed polished and attentive, and our waitress, Alley, was especially great. She was knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly, and she really made our experience even better. Food-wise, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The hummus, roasted cauliflower app, and side of spiced carrots were all delicious, and both the sea bass and veal chop were excellent. Apparently their fish is brought in fresh everyday -- you can tell! We also really appreciated the wine list, which felt extensive and thoughtfully curated. Overall, Del Mar is such a great addition to the Nora district, and we'll definitely be back! read more

What a lovely experience. Authentic. I joked: You need a fireplace so I can break dishes after having Ouzo. Staff is so sincere. Tatiana and Nate could not have been more accommodating. We went to the soft opening over the weekend and were so excited to check out the new location in WPB! The area is very new, Del Mar is one of the few businesses open so far. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Mediterranean vibes in a new and modern setting. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the loaded hummus, which has pomegranate braised lamb on top- it was the star of the night. For dinner, branzino and the truffle agnolotti. The fish was perfection, the pasta was good, just could have been served a little hotter. For dessert, we had the baklava. We did have an espresso martini that lacked real flavor, but the rest of the cocktails were fantastic. Del Mar is a must try in West Palm Beach! read more

Started my daughter's birthday month the best way last night with a beautiful late dinner at Del Mar in West Palm Beach Since we love trying new restaurants, we ordered several dishes so we could find our favorites -- and every bite was an experience. The Mushroom Turkish Flatbread was absolutely fabulous -- soft bread topped with caramelized onions, havarti, and garlic... such a perfect combination. The Golden Beet Salad was fresh and delicious with avocado, apple, spiced pistachios, and herb yogurt, though smaller bites of the apples and beets would have made it even better. For the appetizer I couldn't resist the Open Fire Roasted Shellfish Platter The small portion was perfect for sharing, and the presentation was stunning. The South African lobster tail was tender and flavorful, the scallops and prawns were incredibly juicy, and the clams and mussels were so tender. That garlic lemon sauce was EVERYTHING. We each ordered pasta -- my daughter loved the Lobster Spaghetti with its sweet garlic tomato sauce, Calabrian chili, and just the right touch of flavor. I had the Truffle Agnolotti with ricotta, parmigiano, and truffles. It was good, but I was honestly expecting a little more. And of course, dessert was the perfect ending The Olive Oil Cake was definitely the favorite, served with seasonal fruit, strawberries, pine nuts, and whipped mascarpone. This is a very cool new restaurant but I was a little disappointed. My wife and I sat at the bar and the bartender was really nice. My wife ordered a Paper Plane and I had a Martini. The glasses were small and not even a full pour. We ordered jumbo shrimp cocktail ($7 each) and oysters ($5 each) and they were both small. What happened was the kitchen had to soak the bread in egg but the French toast became too mushy and because it was cut so thick it could not be cooked through. Bacon was very good but should be a 12-1cut. It was too thin. Probably 18-1 cut. Since H&H Bagels is in the same complex they should use their bagels for the smoked salmon and better quality cream cheese. Possibly throw on some capers a very thinly sliced onion. For a restaurant opening only three weeks ago, it is unbelievable. We had Adam and Zoe as a server and they were absolutely phenomenal. Adam has such a great fun personality. The ambience is organic and beautiful. Just could stay in that atmosphere all night. The food was absolutely phenomenal. There was not one bad dish. We had lots of appetizers, including the loaded, hummus, the lamb meatballs, etc. everybody had an amazing meal, but the best thing I tasted on the table were the lamb chops. oh my goodness I've had rack of Lamb before, but this was the best I've ever tasted in my life. This past Saturday my wife and I returned to Del Mar Restaurant with 2 other couples. This was our second time and brought our friends here because we so enjoyed it the first time. Unfortunately, the second time was nothing like that. Our service was sketchy with drinks and appetizers coming individually rather than together - and those were the appetizers that came. One appetizer did not come at all. Dinner (which took some time to come out - due to "a back up in the kitchen" - not the diners' problem) was similar, especially when the restaurant was busy, but not THAT busy . Also, in a restaurant of this caliber and price, the servers should know where each plate should be placed rather than guessing or asking. My wife ordered the snapper as did her friend and the fish was lukewarm and overdone (my wife could not eat hers). Although there was someone who tired to "make things right" by bringing drinks and recook the meals, the whole fiasco definitely imparted a negative vibe on our evening with close friends. We will need to seriously consider coming back to this establishment as there are many upcoming new and older restaurants in WPB that have their act more together. read more

My husband and I went for dinner on Mothers Day. Decor is beautiful and very inviting except our table was at room that is probably a private room for events so is absolutely plain with 2 huge TV screens that had lights on. We couldn't tell, that we were in the same restaurant. I ordered an appetizers: ceviche and tuna crudo. Dishes were pretty good but came with stale cracker. So disappointing. Husband ordered for main dish Lobster Spaghetti. Dish was pretty good but lobster was very toug. My snapper was nicely done maybe too much tomato flavor. Honestly whole experience was pretty disappointing. Will have to wait for some time before we decide to go back a take a chance for meal at Del Mar. read more

This is a very pretty new restaurant that we were excited to try. Unfortunately, some of the food was disappointing. We had to send the calamari back as it was dry and over fried. The 2nd try was only marginally better. There was a fair amount of just fried batter on the plate. The zucchini was just ok, you really couldn't taste anything beyond the spices on it. There is a heavy middle eastern influence in the flavors in many of the dishes. The swordfish was very good. The truffle agnolotti was just ok. The cocktails were original and had great flavor.
