Extremely low yields, Long-horn 30% of live weight, the last one was a really nice black Angus and that yield was only 20% of live weight, less than 50% of the hanging weight. If THAT YIELD IS acceptable to you, then go ahead brother. As for me, I will go elsewhere. I called them and gave Ms. Ortega an opportunity to make it right, all sort of excuses, 3 year old was too old for a good yield, puny cow, they lost all of their butchers, new ones are training. Excuses are good maybe one time, but 3 times in a row. Yea, I am the sucker here! As I understand, (research yourself) 30-42 month old is the prime age for butcher. read more

Some of the worst Jerky I have had along with their Summer Sausage. The Jerky was very tough and the Summer Sausage had a cheap bologna taste to it. When we first walked in the place had a spoiled smell inside which was a clue that I ignored. The Sausage Sticks were really good though. I threw the Summer Sausage out. Dropped off a Stag for processing on 12-17-22. It took a week to get a cut instructions call. Received a call on 1-12-13 that it was ready for pickup. I picked it up on 1-13-23. my friend picked up his processed meat on 1-14-23. that's when the manager Jen showed him a picture of my animal that showed it has turned green. she told him our Stags ended up buried under other animals dropped off. That they cut the bad meat off and proceeded it. Jen said it has a smell but ok to eat. I should have received a call as soon as they picture was taken. it should have never been processed. I paid $166 to process rotting meat. I called and asked to have Jen call me and she never did. the owner Mark Pagel also is aware of the situation and has not reached out to me. read more

They had some people being extremely rude because of they have to limit people from buying everything..... they handled everyone with a smile. I've been shopping here for years. I always call ahead to place my order so it's ready when I arrive. I especially love their lean ground round beef. It's fresh, and not filled with the "red dye" that store bought has. Has great flavor and very little grease, if any. They have a pretty nice selection of frozen vegetables, sausage links, bacon, and chicken as well. read more

No. Very rude staff. "Fresh" ground meat had browned on inside prior to selling. Summer sausage is decent. Bacon isn't anything special. Prices were a little expensive for the quality and ALSO the website pricing does not reflect actual pricing. Overall not the best experience. Do not recommend, find another place. read more

It' a small place and easy to miss. There is nothing fancy about it, but that is why the prices are so great!! We got the steak lovers special and all the meat was great. We are going back for more!! We mostly eat steaks, but the have many more specials and packages for any size family with a lot of variety. The people there are friendly and the service is wonderful. We will always go there for all our meat needs from now on. If you don't have a freezer, get one and pack it full of meat from Rendon Meats. I don't know what their Jerky or summer sausage is like, but we go there for fresh meat, and you can't beat what they have to offer. I tell everyone I know about this place. Please support them!! Glad to have a place where bulk beef can be purchased year round. I bought a front quarter for a fair and reasonable price that included the cutting and wrapping, and received all of my meat. The meat could have aged a bit longer, and next time that will be a request. Aging makes taste and tenderness the best it can be. The steaks, roasts, and hamburger were all cut to my specifications and packaged in weights requested. The transaction was honest and straightforward. No bait and switch sales. After years of disappointment with Cooks, Smithfield and other national brands who now only sell pre-cooked hams we have FINALLY found a source for delicious ham. We are used to buying hams that are cured but not cooked and I dropped by Rendon Meats to see what they had to offer. When I explained what I was looking for I was told immediately that I could order a ham that day and pick it up at the end of the week. We cooked the ham for Christmas dinner (all day in a low oven) and it was the best we have had yet. read more
