Let's start this meat-ing by saying... 5 STARS all around! Service: A Bunch of Southern Gentlemen! Ambiance: Clean with lots of seating inside and out. Food: Quality, quality, QUALITY! I'd like to try the whole menu, but I've only been twice. The first time, we grabbed their famous Double Standard Burger. Meaty & marvelous! The second time, I grabbed the House Salad with Chicken. Healthy! The third time, I grabbed TMB French Dip. FAVORITE ITEM thus far. (: All times, fries were had. They are crispy, well seasoned and pair to perfection with Heinz ketchup. Update: My first review- My beef sandwich was delicious; the meat was so tender. My friend liked hers as well. I can't wait to go back. Second experience did not live up to my first experience. I came back with my husband. I tried the burger and he had the blt. The beef sandwich is better. I got the single patty. If you get the burger, get the double. The patty was thin. I think the Hawaiian roll made it sweet. If you like sweet burgers, you may enjoy it more than I did. I also bought the "world famous" Swiss pastry shop Black Forest cake. Evidently I've never had their Black Forest cake because it was horrible. Black forest cake is supposed to be chocolate with cherries. The cake was white with cool whip. But here's the big issue - it was dried out and hard. The guy behind the counter told me it was frozen. This cake was not hard from being frozen. I asked several questions about the type and quality. I'm surprised he didn't offer a refund. Not worth $6.50. Not sure I'll go back again. read more

We enjoyed our lunch here very much recently. I had the smoked turkey wrap (large portion so I took 1/2 of mine home). It was delicious! My husband had the steak sandwich, and he said it was very good. Both the owner and the manager stopped by for conversations (not just the "how are you" ones), and that goes a long way for me. Delicious! Beyond the food, the employees appear to have a standard above the rest, going out of their way to make genuine conversation and connection that did not appear forced. I used to work in a cafe as my first job that served molasses bread and I have not come across it many times in the last 20 years, but the quality of the ingredients here stands out. Ordered the BLT and the French dip, with the fries and chips, and both were delicious. The meats and the breads stand alone, but even the tomato and lettuce were of high quality. 4.5 for sandwich shop with an added bonus of butcher shop. The fresh cuts meat case looks amazing. Service was very good. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table. Atmosphere is a step up, or maybe several steps up, from what you would expect for a butcher shop. "The Board Room" was nice and had the local game on. We were offered menses and the counter person offered his suggestions and best sellers. My husband went with the signature grilled tenderloin sandwich. The kolache bun was fresh and soft. The meat was seasoned and cooked well. The blue cheese was a perfect match. I had the salad with tenderloin. The salad was a nice size. The mixed greens were fresh and crisp, the feta cheese was a nice quality. The cranberry were plump and added a nice sweet contrast. The pecans came in the side. I believe they are house made sweet pecans, very good. There was an ample amount of tender, juicy, well seasoned steak. House made vinaigrette on the side was also very good. But I actually enjoyed my salad with no dressing. The steak was so juicy and well seasoned I didn't need it. Over all one of the better steak salad and sandwiches we have had in the DFW area. Will certainly return for our next special occasion meat purchase or if in the area for lunch. Ice tea and water with fresh lemon was complimentary and they had a cooler of canned soda and beer. I finally stopped in for burger week and I'm very disappointed. The parking was difficult. I didn't see a menu on the wall so I stood on line not knowing what my options were. I got to the counter and asked what the burger week special was and he said pimento and cheese burger. I love pimento and cheese so I went with that and chips. The patty was VERY thin and VERY hard. It was not at all what I expected from a butcher shop. The pimento and cheese was fine. I was terribly underwhelmed by the burger all around. The chips were crispy and well seasoned...somehow more filling and enjoyable than the burger at a place called meat board. Friendly service gets two stars but a very disappointing lunch! read more

Found this as a close suggestion for lunch that my husband and I were hungry for. It's a good lunch spot with good food but also sells meats. There's not much seating, but even when it's full, it's not really loud. And the guys are very helpful. We brought our baby in the car seat and there wasn't really a place to put her so one of the guys pulled out a rolling chair to put her in. I loved my sandwich more than I thought I would. And my husband took 1 bite of his and raved about it the whole meal. (He got the brisket melt) read more

SO disappointed. You would think a real butcher shop would offer a decent hamburger. We shop there for meat all the time and decided to try lunch. The burger was so bad. It reminded me of an old stale burger from elementary school. Basically, nothing to it. No taste, no flavor. Just some old frozen patty slapped on a small lifeless bun. You can get that at any gas station. We actually threw it away. Doesn't exactly make me want to try any other items on the menu. read more

I can't say enough about this place. It is an upscale butcher shop with in-store and outdoor dining. The owner was so nice and helpful, and the staff really made sure you had a great experience. Oh, and the food...OMG it was SOOOOO good. I'm not a big fan of vinegar style BBQ sauce, but this was so good that I wanted to buy a bottle to take home. The brisket is the moistest and most flavorful I've ever had, and you can't go wrong with the steak and blue cheese sandwich. The homemade chips and shoestring fries were delicious too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this lunch spot! They have limited hours from 11-2pm for lunch so plan ahead. They are super friendly and I have often times seen the owners greeting customers and making sure everyone is happy. It's a small spot, but they have outside seating or you can always grab your meal to go. They also have sides, meats and sometimes they have local charcuterie boards and cheesecakes featured in their coolers to purchase as well. My favorites for lunch are usually the BLT and I add an egg or the double standard burger. If you like ranch as for side of ranch! It is DELICIOUS! I also get the fries instead of the chips. The fries are the skinny fries and I'm a fan. I truly don't have a negative word to say about this establishment. Seems like the business really supports local law enforcement and firefighters (or maybe they just really appreciate good meats haha) because they are there on a regular basis which I think is really neat! read more

My family has always raved about Meat-Board. While visiting them in Ft. Worth I treated them to lunch from Meat Board. I went in and placed a carry-out order, by the time I got the food home (4 mins away) and severed it, I realized I was never asked what I wanted on the sandwiches or how I wanted the burger cooked. The worst part was everything was cold, and the burger was overcooked. I definitely felt I did not get what for what I paid $$$, and we threw out the food. First visit today and it happened to be in "the boardroom" which is what they call the private meeting room. We had a retirement celebration for a co-worker. Don and his team were great from the get-go starting us off with homemade chips, salsa, Guacamole and queso. Also a tray lf melt in your mouth steak, sausage and stuffed jalapenos. All excellent. I had a double standard burger for my meal which is easily one of my top 5. Made with 2 chuck & tenderloin blend beef patties, white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, mustard and/or mayo on a sweet kolache roll. (Shout out to pearl snap kolaches!) The burger was off the chain as were the homemade potato chips which I usually don't care for - too greasy - not these babies. They were perfect. We finished lunch off with cookies made in house and they were still warm. Yum! Other hits at the table were the BLT, the doggone good hot dog, the steak sandwich and grilled chicken salad. I suggest dropping by for lunch and purchasing a spectacular cut of beef for dinner as the Meat Board is proud of their butcher shop as they well should be. Took the drive out to ft worth to pick up some steaks after seeing them in an add. We decided to try their sandwiches because we were hungry. Glad we did. I highly recommend their steak sandwich. Loads of meat and came with chips. After eating we ordered our steaks. I told the clerk we were not cooking for 2 days so he air packed them. Nice touch! The steaks were outstanding good. My husband cooked them to perfection but boy ol boy was that flavor damn good. If you're looking for some fresh angus beef then give them a try. read more

WONDERFUL we were in Ft Worth after going to Cars & Coffee in Southlake this morning and then driving over to a dealership to see a truck on a car lot in person. Pulled up YELP to find a place to eat lunch that had outdoor seating and it led us here. It did not disappoint. My husband wants to come back all the way from Las Colinas just to eat here again lol. I ordered the Doggone Good Hotdog and Fries and My hubbie got the Brisket Cheese Melt with chips. Everything was perfect. Fries are skinny and crisp with the perfect amount of pepper they had this little petit four sweet cake that was so delicious. We will definitely tell everyone about this little joint. Came here for the first time today and ordered the brisket cheese melt. It was flavorful, juicy, and tender. My dad got the yard bird and said it was really good as well.
