I can't say enough good things about the care I receive here. Carol and Noel are very skilled nurses that are sensitive to concerns and knowledgable about all things skin related. The whole office is very trustworthy. I moved to the peninsula years ago and still make the 1 1/2 drive to see them. They don't only handle aesthetics. I have brought my husband in for mole removal and my 4 year old son for wart removal on his foot. The quality of care provided here is rare. I can't recommend this place more. The price I discussed with the dermatologist for laser treatment was different from the amount I was later given in writing, which left me confused about what the actual cost would be. I was also unexpectedly charged a higher copay for what I understood to be a basic office visit. What disappointed me most is that I had enough confidence in this practice to recommend it to people close to me. I had planned on doing laser treatments alongside my mom and my partner, but after this experience, I think we'll be looking elsewhere. The service itself felt pretty basic, and the communication around pricing and billing wasn't what I expected. Transparency and consistency are important when patients are making decisions about treatments, and unfortunately that wasn't my experience here. She listened intently to my concerns (it was my first time for all treatments), provided fantastic treatment and then followed up me afterwards to make sure all was well. My husband was a patient of Dr. Kane earlier this year. We had gone to other doctor's to try to figure out what was going on and we finally found Dr. Kane to be so knowledgable and thorough. Within days of seeing her, his issue was almost resolved. And while she was treating him, her approach was wholistic and empathetic- helping him come up with a plan to relieve his other dermatological issues.

I didn't realize they had a little parking lot so I parked on the street and walked around until it was time to go inside. Please keep in mind to get to the entrance it is a fair amount of stairs, I am unsure if there is there an elevator or not. The office doesn't open until 9 but I was booked for 9 am and knew I had to come in a little early to sign the medical documents. The very kind receptionist was happy to see me at 8:50 am and helped me to sign the documents. She kindly brought me water while I waited for the esthetician to be ready. My consultation with the esthetician made me feel cared about as she took in my skin concerns and products I use. Sometimes during this process at other spas, one can feel judgement for their personal routine but she was so kind and genuinely wanted to make sure I had a good routine. She had excellent techniques and my skin was so clean and hydrated. She did give me extractions that I was nervous about but I know I needed it, she had the perfect touch to my skin as she was trying to make it as painless as possible for me. At the end she gave me some recommendations for my future skincare and I hope to see her again soon so she can reassess my skin again. Overall I had a great experience and would love to book again.

She inspired confidence in me, which is not easy to do! I consider myself a "high maintenance patient" who reads up on the Internet, (something doctors in general are not fond of) openly express feelings such as fear about my medical concerns, and prepare written questions before appointments. Dr. Reinke was undaunted! I think she is a true asset to our medical community. I should also add that she has well-established professional relationships with UCSF Dermatology, and can refer to additional specialists there when needed.

When I called to have the issue resolved, I was told I would need to schedule--and pay for--another full office visit with a different physician just to receive the prescription. My previous appointment cost $429, with $224 out of pocket, so this would have meant spending over $400 for a tube of tretinoin because of an administrative mistake. What disappointed me most was the response from the front desk. When I explained my concerns, the lead staff member dismissively said, "This is healthcare," with no empathy and no attempt to help find a reasonable solution. Mistakes happen, but how a practice responds to them matters. Patients should not have to pay for a second visit to correct an error that wasn't their fault. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to take my business elsewhere.
