The price I discussed with the dermatologist for laser treatment was different from the amount I was later given in writing, which left me confused about what the actual cost would be. I was also unexpectedly charged a higher copay for what I understood to be a basic office visit. What disappointed me most is that I had enough confidence in this practice to recommend it to people close to me. I had planned on doing laser treatments alongside my mom and my partner, but after this experience, I think we'll be looking elsewhere. The service itself felt pretty basic, and the communication around pricing and billing wasn't what I expected. Transparency and consistency are important when patients are making decisions about treatments, and unfortunately that wasn't my experience here. When I called to have the issue resolved, I was told I would need to schedule--and pay for--another full office visit with a different physician just to receive the prescription. My previous appointment cost $429, with $224 out of pocket, so this would have meant spending over $400 for a tube of tretinoin because of an administrative mistake. What disappointed me most was the response from the front desk. When I explained my concerns, the lead staff member dismissively said, "This is healthcare," with no empathy and no attempt to help find a reasonable solution. Mistakes happen, but how a practice responds to them matters. Patients should not have to pay for a second visit to correct an error that wasn't their fault. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to take my business elsewhere.

Dr. Reinke was undaunted! I think she is a true asset to our medical community. She spoke to me for 30 mins over the phone to review photos of my mole, and after the phone consultation met with me to do a biopsy.
