Maybe I caught her on a bad day but wow. What a rude doctor. The practice operates like a cattle call as well. She rushed me through, didn't listen, had negative comments about anything I mentioned I had done before. She also never asked me about sun exposure and when I asked her a few pointed questions about it, she dismissively said "We have to get moving along here," as if I was taking up too much time "discussing" an issue. What a wasted 3 months waiting to get in to see her. Hard pass. read more

As a Kaiser member (and nurse practitioner), I am very IMPRESSED with the EXPERT care I received from DR. KIM FREDERICKSON earlier this week. I came to her office with three skin problems but she identified a fourth! She readily diagnosed and treated each problem to my satisfaction. Additionally, she performed a METICULOUS body exam of my skin. She knew I was paying out of pocket and was very considerate, my total bill came to $145.00, thank you! My only criticism is of the employees who service the front desk and "greet" patients as they come in. I found them to be rather cold and disinterested, the opposite of welcoming. Customer service skills could use improvement because first impressions do count in this world. I do, however, RECOMMEND Dr. Frederickson without reservation and will return to her in the future! read more

Dr Frederickson has been very curt with my husband and me the past few times we've been in, rushing us along and telling us she doesn't have time for us to search for our areas of concern on our skin. I'm not sure what's going on, but we both felt like she was impatient and we were not being slow or purposefully delaying the process. As I said, it wasn't an isolated incident and I just don't know if I can go back, which is disappointing because we used to feel good about her care. read more

I was so lucky to have been referred to Dr. Kim Fredrickson. Usually, when you finally get to a doctor you have had something wrong for a while. Dr. Kim was able to instantly identify each little thing on my face, used liquid nitrogen to zap all the old lady patches on my face and actually took a biopsy of the wart looking lump on my thigh. It took her only seconds. I felt nothing. Nothing short of wizardry, compared to other doctors. Dr. Kim knows what women want and gives it easily and effortlessly. Within three days, her office called with the Lab results. Not only did she actually do something upon my first visit, but she also produced nearly instant results. This place is the best in the Bay Area and maybe Northern California. read more

I absolutely LOVE Dr Frederickson! She is incredibly patient, skilled, and genuinely concerned with her patients' wellbeing! I have seen her for about five years now and I am very grateful for her assistance with my health. I feel as though I cannot emphasize enough how caring and truly invested in her patients wellbeing she is. I have mostly seen her for acne related concerns, scarring, and skin infection as well as the occasional other odd skin concern. For most common skin issues she is a sure bet, though if your concerns exceed her expertise she will be happy to send a tissue sample and call upon the expertise of others for your benefit. I have had multiple procedures in her office and she has always been very gentle with/considerate of me which I greatly appreciate as I do not handle incisions or injections very well. I truly trust Dr. Frederickson and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for dermatological care. read more

Dr.Kim Frederickson is a Treasure! She has skillfully helped me with long standing skin problems in the most gentle, kind and caring manner. She is very patient, listens carefully, explains procedures and then very professionally treats the problem. Kim is great, all of my family goes to her and has been doing so for years. Even though I've moved out of Marin I still go back to her when I need something checked. She is great about making sure to specify what procedures are covered by my insurance before she suggests or offers them. I went in not too long ago just to have a little mole looked at that had grown rapidly in the last few months. It took her less than 10 minutes to look at it, give me information on what she believed it was and what should be done about it, walk me through the removal process, remove it, and send it off to make sure it was benign.Two days later I couldn't even see the scar from where my mole used to be. She's great about stopping problems before they occur. If she sees a spot or a problem area she lets you know, freezes it or biopsies it if necessary. We think she's taken good care of our family over the years. Definitely recommend her. read more

I visited Dr. Frederickson because my Esthetician, Tara Voight of Always Pampered in Novato was concerned with a few moles on my face. In my youth I spent way too much time in the sun. Dr. Frederickson examined my face and discovered that one of my moles did indeed have a suspicious spot. She cut it off and had it checked out. She also removed several more benign spots. After it was checked, it was indeed a Basil Cell Carsnoma (a cancer that is easily dealt with if caught early). I go into detail because Dr. Fredrickson asked me to come back to check and maybe remove more. However, when I returned, the spot had healed quickly and she had done such an expert job I did not have to have more removed. She had done such a thorough job the first time. She will keep an eye on this in the future. Dr. Frederickson has done such a professional job and carefully explained everything she was doing and instilled such patience and trust. I highly recommend her and will definitely see her again, as will my entire family. People in Novato will recognize her new office on Diablo Ave. and Novato Blvd that is a bright turquiose, and beautiful landscaping. read more

Dr. Kim Frederickson is one of the best dermatologists in the entire state of California. That's her review in a nutshell. Her awards, accomplishments, and contributions to medicine speak for themselves. I had a skin condition that I was quite concerned about. She immediately and correctly diagnosed it, and I received all necessary treatment and medications that same day. Her staff are great as well. Her assistant talked to me before the doctor came in and ensured that all of my medical concerns were on the list for the doctor to review. Her front desk staff were great also, and will give you top-notch service even when I told them 2 or 3 times that I could wait while they answer the phone. The phones do ring constantly, and to ease the burden on the staff, I'm going to try to make my future appointments via fax (online, free fax, of course)--although I assume that new patients must schedule via telephone to get and give all pertinent information. (And I'd be shocked if any of the staff ever suggested you schedule via fax, but it's something to consider doing, after you see how wonderful everyone at their office is.) I don't care how busy Dr. Frederickson gets, her office is the only place I want to go to. If need be, I'll be happy to schedule 2 months in advance so that I can be seen by her or any of her associates. She is, without a doubt, one of the best doctors you'll ever get to see. I have complete trust and confidence in her, and in anyone she works with. read more

dr. fredrickson may be a perfectly good dermatologist in many respects. however, in my case, I went to her a very serious and well documented disease, systemic in nature but manifesting primarily on the skin. It turns out she had very little if any understanding of the condition so she tried to prescribe psych meds. fortunately i had the good sense to decline but good forbid others in a similar situation follow blindly whatever the doctor says. all i can say is approach with caution. read more

While I agree with others that Dr. Kim is great... she is SO booked up, it's easily 2-3 months to get an appointment with her so we have often gone with her sidekick (Dr. Dalton) who is definitely not worth it. I have just spent over three weeks trying to get a prescription renewed - an incredibly frustrating experience (phone calls not returned, messages incorrect) staff seems too busy to really be able to manage their workload. We are switching away from this office and don't plan to return... very sad. read more

Kim has been my families dermatologist for over 18 years now and I love her. My father had melanoma 25 years ago and so did my sister just last year, so naturally I try to stay on top of my skin health. Kim always takes the time to hear my concerns and my family history. She is very proactive in freezing off "funny or irregular" spots before they become a problem. She's also helped me deal with the signs of becoming older. (OH NO!) She helped with my sons acne and takes good care of my whole family. I can't recommend her highly enough! read more
