I tried a new coffee shop today in McKinney called Ugly Mug Coffee, and I'm really glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the energy felt kind and welcoming. I told them it was my first time, asked a few questions, and the girls working there were genuinely helpful and patient while I figured out what I wanted. As I was leaving, I noticed a handwritten note on my cup that simply said, "So proud of you." It was small, but it meant more than they'll ever know. If you're local and looking for a place with good coffee and even better people, this spot is worth checking out. I've been really enjoying this newer coffee shop in the area. My current addiction is their iced tiramisu latte, so good! I feel like consistency-wise they do a good job, this is very important to me because I hate going to places that will give me the same drink but it'll taste different depending on the barista. They have a lot of different menu items to choose from and the staff is always friendly. Also, I love that there is a drive thru. I'll continue to be a weekly customer! :) read more

This place is so cute. Pick your own mug for in shop coffee drinking is the funnest thing ever. Menu has many options and every drink I've tried has been amazing. I always get the seasonal drinks so I can't recall all the names but the banana bread coffee I had recently is delish!! Service is prompt and they are so sweet there. Stopped by this coffee shop on the way home from a doctors appointment solely drawn in by the name (i love a good pun)! Picked up a vanilla latte and a couple kolaches for my husband and I. The coffee was delicious with little too no bitterness and not overly milky or sweet! My husband loved his jalapeño sausage kolache! he said had a little bit of spice with the perfect snap of the sausage. The bacon and egg and cheese kolache seemed a little dry but the flavors were good! Service was quick and the drive thru was efficient! Stopped into this coffee shop on a whim for the first time, and I'm so glad I did. The girl at the counter - who turned out to be one of the owners - was incredibly sweet and offered great recommendations. I immediately went for the banana bread latte, and it was absolutely delicious. The subtle banana flavor and touch of sweetness added the perfect depth to the espresso, which was smooth and full of rich coffee flavor. The ambiance inside was welcoming and had some great insta-worthy photo ops on the wall. I may have just found my new favorite local coffee spot! I can't wait to be back. read more

I had been wanting to check this spot out for a while. After church one day I went in with my kids and thank goodness they had coffee and soda so my daughter was so excited. The inside of the shop was so cute, the ugly mug decor and mug wall to choose your cup. The staff was very sweet and the store was clean. I ordered a sugar cookie latte and unfortunately the coffee was not good... it tasted nothing like sugar cookie and quite watered down. I really wanted to like it but it was just okay.... read more

An awesome coffee shop near El Dorado and Stonebridge in McKinney!You can choose a ceramic mug or, of course, get a throwaway cup. They also have a drive thru. There are lots of choices for both the coffee drinks and the tea, soda or lemonade drinks. I chose a lavender latte which was wonderful, and my husband got a peach flavored lemonade, which was also great. The blonde brownie was also quite yummy. I like to refer to myself as a coffee connoisseur... most places I go to their coffee looks great but the actual espresso they use is not great. I was very pleased with this coffee. I got a latte and the espresso was awesome. Love that they use Cultivar Coffee beans, which is what I also use at home! Really nice coffee shop, comfortable atmosphere, very clean, friendly staff and a nice selection of drinks and pastries. They even have card and board games available to use, if you want to hang out with friends and family. Power outlets that include usb are everywhere if you want to charge your devices. Amazing family-owned/run coffee shop! The staff are friendly and welcoming. They are brand new and are working out kinks of a new business but working hard to provide what the community is looking for. They coffee is great and pastries fresh. What sets them apart is the variety of offerings. They don't just serve coffee (which is very good BTW), but have offerings to satisfy everyone in your family/friend group/business group.
