PLEASE READ PART 1 THIS IS PART 2: By this time I had found online the installation instructions for the lock and printed those for my husband. He went to the local hardware store that is less than a mile from our house and picked up several size screws. DJ at first told me he could give me the installers phone number. HELLO!?! Are you serious? Once he understood that was not an option DJ asked me to send him a picture of the door area in question and maybe he could find a spec sheet. So I sent pictures via text. He then replies and I quote "try pulling the handle up on the inside specifically while someone tries to open from the outside afterwards. The inside handle when lifted up while shut, should lock the other two deadbolts up high and down low. And shouldn't allow those to be opened from the outside. I sent him a video via text showing him that the door would latch but not lock. Matter of fact it latched so loosely that you could push the door open with a gentle push of your hand. We went back and forth via text several more times including a text saying he had contacted the installer and he was already back to his home and couldn't come back. A few more texts and he finally sends me the instructions to install the lock but still no specs. Actually it was the same thing I had found an hour earlier and my husband was using to install the lock. Still more going back and forth via text and finally my husband was able to get the lock installed and we were able to secure our home. A very stressful afternoon indeed. On Monday, October 13th I received a call from a lady in Charlotte office concerning my voicemail I left on Saturday. I do commend her, she had done her homework and knew that my husband had been able to install the lock, She scheduled another tech to come to our home on Thursday, October 16th to check the install of the lock. We were very glad he did as the main lock would engage but the installer failed to install the extra top and bottom locks to work. It took him all of 5 minutes. As I vented to the tech I advised him that we needed some type of compensation for what we were put through. A day or so later the lady from the Charlotte office calls me again and asked if I was satisfied and if everything was good. I vented to her again, and I also told her that we needed to be reimbursed for the stress that their installer had put us under. I also told her that I have supervised many individuals in my career and if that installer worked for me he would be fired on the spot for: 1. Sucking the time clock while he sat on his phone the majority of time that he was here. 2. For not going to the hardware store less than a mile away, which he had to pass coming and going from our house. 3. For leaving us with our home insecure. Making us wonder if this was a planned set up for an opportunity to come back to our home with bad intentions, if you catch my drift. The lady in the Charlotte office said they had talked about sending us a $100 gift card for our trouble. WOW! REALLY? I just purchased an $8,000+ door and you are going to give me a $100? Shame on you Renewal by Anderson!! As of today we still haven't received any gift card, nor heard from the sales rep DJ or anyone else from the Charlotte office/door division. Yet they keep sending me auto generated emails to take survey about my experience which I have completed multiple times. So, upon receipt of yet another auto generated survey I felt it was time I shared our story with any of you looking to make a purchase from Renewal by Anderson. Be forewarned! If you're looking for new windows, don't waste your time. These people are relentless, call them once for a quote and they will never leave you alone again. They came out 2 years ago, to pitch their windows...claiming they were top of the line, and when we told the salesman we needed to sleep on it, and get some other quotes. Apparently that was unacceptable, he became very pushy, aggressive, and rude. Since that first visit we have received endless junk mail from them, never ending. I have called multiple times and asked them to remove us from their mailing list. I have retuned mail to sender many times asking them to remove us...but it keeps coming. And now they send them without a return address, so I can even send the back I wish I had read their reviews and check BBB before contacting them. Needless to say all interactions them have left a very bad impression on us. In the end we picked another company and had great success. AVOID ANDERSON AT ALL COSTS "GARBAGE" 1. sales team told me that the new windows would open up the view. in fact, the new frames closed the opening by 3+ inches. Narrowing the view. 2. Installation team installed 3 different colors of trim on the exterior. they had to come out 2 additional times to get it right. 3. They installed 2 awning windows and within a short period of time one of the locks just snapped off and the corner of the sash broke. I made a warranty claim and the damage was verified by the tech that came out to inspect the damage said that there was no sign of abuse to any part of the window and it should definitely be a warranty repair. However, corporate denied the claim and the location that did the install wanted me to pay to repair. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. The product no doubt is essentially good but the company is terrible. They installed a window that could not be opened. Seriously. there was no handle or lip to grab it by and open it with --side to side. They also installed a FULL SIZE SCREEN. it covered the entire window opening. When I contacted them about these 2 issues, they were of no help at all. I paid TOP DOLLAR for this window, I mean a ridiculous amount of money. They care nothing about their customers. I have been wanting to write a review about this company for awhile now so here it goes.... I purchased 5 windows 15k shame on me first off for that stupid decision. I was just wanting "nice and reliable windows and work". shame on me for that as well. I am a single woman and have lived in my home for 20+ yrs and wanted to reward myself for my making it this far as a single mom that bought a home and still here and making it happen the best way I can. Given that I made the wrong decision I have regretted it for some time now. After the windows were installed I was very disappointed in the "inserts" I got, btw I had no idea they were going to be inserts. I was not told that I was getting inserts I was led to believe I was getting new windows at the sale of the windows by the salesperson. I was under the impression I was getting what I already had but much better. After the installation crew left, I was unable to hang the blinds I currently had already had hung prior to the new window INSERTS. I called and complained about not being able to hang the previous blinds in my windows because there were no space given to hang blinds. This led to even more disappointment and letdown by Renewal By Anderson for the lack of ownership for what happened, the sale and installation at this point. I spoke to one of the construction management members by the way that would have been the third one I spoke to he tried to give me ways to makeshift a way to fix the problem he had someone come out and try to search for blinds that would fit, he was not able to find any. we sat down together and searched for blinds and couldn't come up with any months maybe six months later we came up with a way to hang some blinds that had to be special cut to fit my window. Again another future expense for me. Also, I had to result in hanging plastic 1 inch blinds, which I did not want. I also didn't want white blinds, but that was all the company offered. needless to say I'm here to express how dissatisfied I am with Renewal By Anderson and how and when I say it took six months or longer to handle this situation I spoke to five different individuals, three different construction management members and two other members which I cannot recall what their title was. It was extremely long process and frustrating process $15,000 later I am totally dissatisfied with the entire situation one how I was misled at the point of sale to the finish product in which I had to clean up after for days and they guaranteed that it would be completely returned back to normal. Back up a little bit to the installation where when the two guys that came out to install my five I had to call them back in to to caulk areas that they totally completely failed to do also when one of the team members came out to install the blinds that they purchased my add kudos to them not he then had to clean up after crew. I have a long story and it's way too much type. I have already typed enough, but if this doesn't show how terrible of a company this can be at the price you pay for their product. It may seem like nothing to some, but I guarantee you had it been their wife that was in this situation and that is what I asked them they would have been totally dissatisfied and would have taken a different action their self. read more

back in April of 2021, we wanted to have the best windows installed...Renewal by Anderson are the worst! Nobody spoke English and they used this caulking around our windows that yellowed and is very sticky! They installed our front door wrong and had to come out 3 times to try and get it right! when they replaced the windows they dropped the old ones down and let them break all over! my husband yelled to stop and they acted like they didn't understand Englis! Our recommendation to any potential Renewal by Andersen (RbA) customer is to be a skeptic when collaborating with this company. We met with the RbA salesperson who was genuinely nice and thoroughly understood our vision. The products offered were not adequate to meet our desires, however, the sales representative assured us that the RbA installation team had installation packages which would make our vision a reality. Motivated by a letter from RbA of the Carolinas Owners, we signed a contract and eagerly awaited the delivery of the products and our installation start. Shortly thereafter a RbA installation team manager visited and with amplifying recommendations also concluded that the installation team could make our vision real. Thirty days after the contract was signed, we received a call from the RbA sales person and later the RbA sales manager advising that they had incorrectly priced the effort and we were given three options (1) pay an additional $6500+, (2) cancel the contract, (3) hire a third-party contractor do the portion of the effort that RbA would now not perform. Our decision was not to agree to the cost escalation and our desire was not to be "in the middle" of RbA and a third-party contractor. We suggested that RbA subcontract with the third party and the RbA Sales manager advised that arrangement was not possible as RbA, a premium company, would not work with a third party. As the homeowner, it would be our responsibility to engage with the third party. During our discussions with the RbA sales supervisor he stated that RbA would not honor the contract and indeed within 48 hours RbA did cancel the contract. In ongoing television advertisements RbA emphasizes that if there is ever an issue, RbA would resolve the issue. This is obviously not the case in our situation. Buyer beware. read more

I got new Windows and a Door from them, the product is wonderful, I don't know why people had a bad experience but my experience was great, very professional installers, they cleaned everything g when they were done, the windows and the door work perfect, no issues, in and out in less than a day, and the thing I like is their product warranty is for life. AAA to them good job, price is a little bit higher but with the service we received, it is worth it, my hubby is also really impressed. read more

Have Andersen windows in the home now and wanted to replace with Andersen. I requested a quote online then got a call back for the date and time selected. On day of scheduled home visit rep called and said he would be later than scheduled (almost 2 hours late) rep showed up without a tape measure. after going over the windows I wanted replaced. he started punching the numbers on his ipad. the original quote was 80k for 17 windows (supposed to be 18) he left off one. after the "buy one get one half off special" the quote was "knocked" down to 60k. if I pay 60k for windows they best be made out of gold and have a lifetime warranty for all parts. No break down on what each window costs, how much installation cost, permits etc. just a flat number. Also according to the rep this price was only good for that day. (This was 9pm so I had 3 hours to decide) I told him I must have missed that part when I requested the in home quote on the website. His response "yeah I guess you did". If you are going to charge that much for windows and schedule appointment times I suggest to be on time or reschedule. Maybe stop spending so much money on tv adds and mailers and give that discount to the customers. read more

Somehow I constantly get Miller's from these people as well as emails when I have never inquired I have no idea how these people got my information. DO NOT buy a door from this company! We purchased 3 replacement doors. 2 of the doors with the 3 prong lock system will randomly lock you out of your house. Our doors were installed 2/16/24. Right out of the box the locking mechanisms slipped when you closed the door and locked you out. The installers worked on the door for over 2 hours. Told us if it happened again then call service. On 3/11/24 (less than one month!), I called for service because it locked us out of our house when we closed the door. 3/14/24 service tech came out to check it out. He tried to tell me that our brand new house settled in less than one month and that was the problem. 4/16/24 service came out to "fix" the door. After watching a video (because this is new locking system to them) they took video of the locking mechanisms slipping and locking them out. Door still isn't fixed. I wouldn't have this company put a door on a doghouse. the. ost incompetent contractor I have ever dealt with. the salesman doesn't know a left-hand door from Hobbitt hole. The cost was exorbitant, response was very untimely, also to the pint of being nonexistence. it took 9 months from our first meeting with the salesman to actually get the correct doors installed. If I could give zero stars I would. We had 3 doors replaced and it was a terrible experience. First of all, don't be fooled by the name. Only the slider was actually an Andersen product. The front and back doors are NOT Andersen products. Second, we were told that the install would take 2 1/2 days. The workers were friendly, but they removed both the front and back door on a morning when it was in the 90s. They did manage to get those 2 doors installed by the end of the day. When they took the slider out, they said they had to go to Home Depot to pick up a couple things. They were gone for 2 hours and came back and had lunch. They weren't able to get the slider installed and again, it was 90 degrees out. My husband had to help them put up a temporary frame so they could put the old slider in place for the night and he was helping them until almost 9:00pm. Then they didn't come back for 2 days, arrived late on Friday with their "manager". They STILL didn't finish on Friday and had to come back on Saturday, which was inconvenient since we had plans. Besides the inconvenience and time it took, they did a terrible job. They dropped a tool on the threshold of our brand new front door and left a dent. Then they dropped a tool that was running and damaged our front porch. Furthermore, they did a terrible job on the trim around the slider, drilled through our siding on our back porch and left holes, and didn't bring the supplies needed to put our house back together, like mud, etc. They left huge marks in the kitchen ceiling and our ceiling is continuous down a hallway. My husband reached out to the sales rep and told him how disappointed we were. A couple of district managers came by one day and made all kinds of promises about fixing the trim and other areas were were upset about. We told them we had company coming in 3 weeks and they said no problem, they would get someone here. When they finally called the week our company was to arrive, they said they had an appointment available in 2 weeks. My husband was so angry he said he would do the work himself. They did end up sending someone the next day, but he didn't bring the right supplies either. We were supposed to hear from the "owner" of the company, but now they have blocked my husband's email and he was never rude or combative with any of the people at "Andersen". I met a Renewal rep at Ace Hardware in Weaverville (Asheville area) because I need a new front and back door. He said he was in from Charlotte to set up accounts here. They are based there and the serve the region. The rep was informative and friendly so I scheduled an appointment. Another rep called on a Sunday, my phone said spam caller, during family dinner to inform me via message I must call them for more info. I waited until Monday morning. I was just about to call when a Spam call came in three in a row. When I had time to hear the message, a new rep came on with an attitude like I put him out and he scolded me and said that I had better call a toll-free number. The message was just rude. I called the main number to confirm my appointment but that rep just said he was sorry to hear about the message. I tried to explain why it was upsetting to be treated poorly before they had even pitched me their product. The rep simply asked if I wanted to make the appointment and I said not if I am going to be treated poorly. He said have a good day and hung up. I would not get involved with this company. Read up on reviews and you decided. A friend told me I was lucky not to deal with Renewal. For me, I will go elsewhere. read more
