I've had my Harley for a little under 5 months and I've had some unfortunate issues with it mechanically. Reno Harley is somewhat poor on the sales side of things except for Edwin. Edwin helped me look at some new bikes when I was considering trading in my old one and was extremely helpful and insightful and caring when it came to my person opinions of all the bikes we looked at. The sales managers didn't really give me the time of day but Edwin was fantastic so overall a great experience for me at this location. But the reason I'm writing this review is because of Paul the service manager. Paul has stopped at no cost to help me with my bike in a timely and professional manner. The only reason I come back so often to get work done is because of Paul! If you have a Harley and need service or an upgrade, Paul is the man to go to! I cannot express my gratitude enough to him for his help. I will always come back to this Harley for service because of his customer service and professionalism. read more

I bought my first Harley here. The sales people tried to get me into a higher interest loan like they are trained to do but were open to disclosing the better rate available to me. I'm glad I made the purchase and see it as the Best Buy I've ever made. This place is great afterwords when buying accessories. The parts guys are awesome. They know their stuff. Justin at the parts counter is awesome. Overall this dealership is more knowledgeable than other dealers I've came across. They are in tune with the newest technology. I purchased a 2018 Ultra Limited Low from this dealership in Nov. 2017. Tony, the salesman that helped me was very confident and knowledgeable. He was very helpful and extremely patient with me. I test road a 2016 and 2017 Ultra Limited low. 2016 just about rattled my teeth off. (lol) the 2017 was way smoother, but, I just couldn't deal with the gold color. Looked at the 115th Anniversary model, tried to make a deal. on my trade in. Had to come back the next day, as it got late. Got to think it over, overnight. ( vertically challenged) So, bought the 2018 Ultra Limited Low the following day. I purchased a few parts from their parts dept. The staff are good folks there. The service dept., are also good people. They did the work in a timely fast and courteous manner. Came out to pick up my bike and returned it to me. In my personal opinion this is a place where you can go to and get a fair shake. All in all, I had a great buying experience from start to finish. She proceeded to go back to the cash register and talk with another employee for the rest of the time I was there. We were the only customers in the store at that time. Just bought my first Harley. I was a bit skeptical coming to Chesters Reno because I've heard some bad things from people, But I decided to stop in anyway. I was greeted by, Dan, one of the salesman. I was expecting to be rushed as if I were at a car dealership, but I experienced the exact opposite. The patients I experienced was remarkable. Dan stood by as I checked out bikes and asked the occasional question to get an idea what I was looking for, gave his occasional opinion on what I might like. And the staff made me feel like family. They even stayed late for all the paperwork and phone calls when I decided to purchase. Today i went into the dealer for an issue with my battery tender. So they replaced it at no charge! I Must say this is the best Harley dealership hands down. WARNING- Take your bike for service here at your own peril! They do not care about your safety and will send you out with an improperly repaired bike that breaks down again within ten minutes with the same problem you took there to get repaired in the first place. Then when you call them for help on the side of the road they will say too bad, they can't help and disconnect the line. I'm ashamed that this is our local Reno Harley Davidson. read more

I have to say, I just recently purchased my first Harley Davidson from this dealership and it was also the first time I've ever purchased a brand new vehicle. I dealt with Walt and he made sure the experience exceeded my expectations. I have dealt with some other dealerships in the local area (specifically Battle Born Harley in Carson) that really gave me a bad taste in my mouth for Harley dealers but these guys changed that opinion. Their sales department and service department were phenomenal and I foresee it continuing to be a great experience. This is for the Customer Experience... Chester's Harley in Reno is a really nice Dealership and when passing always like to pop in. Our experience however is always sub par. Right when you walk in you will notice a sales counter what I believe is a host station... 4 sales people are huddled around all in proximity of my girl and I ... We walk passed this section on our way looking around... Not one person acknowledges us. In fact, the very young man which was obviously a sales person stared at me as I walked by, no smile, no hello, nothing but this irritated look on his face. As a GM in a dealership myself, its hard to have this experience and not get upset at the lack of concern for the customer. We walk around the motorclothes area and end up walking out... once again for the 10 -15 minutes inside the only one to even say hello was the woman at the apparel counter. We stroll out of the building once again passing the sales group unobserved, no thank you .. nothing. We started looking at the V-rod that caught my girl's eye. We then go back in the show room looking at bikes.. We walked across the showroom to the other V-Rod in the there, once again unobserved and look at that bike. Apparently we get noticed looking at this bike. As we walk through the bikes towards the entrance we get asked by an older salesman whether we need help. I say nope. The next bike was right by the entrance where my girl gets on a bike and feels the riding position. It is at this point the same salesman approaches us again and asks if we have any questions. I tell him we already came in and left without anyone seeing us we didnt need any help now. he walks away. He builds his courage and approaches again and says I would like to apologize that no one said anything when you were in before. I tell him that if he was the owner I would accept his apology but not if he was an employee .. because there wasnt an excuse that would suffice. I believe now my girl decided on a V-Rod... oh well, I am sure when we pass through again.. we will probably stop by.. but we wont ever buy anything here... I hope your conversation at the counter was worth the lost sale. read more

Nice big store. A lot of choices and even had 'small' sizes for women. Staff was friendly.

Consistently awful service in their service department. Their parts department consistently lacks knowledge. Stripped a shift shaft on my 15 rg they tightened the shift paddle onto the shift shaft and completed it, told me they replaced the shift shaft and paddle. Then left my bike outside in a dust storm. They gave it back to me covered in shift and jerry rigged. When it stripped again less than a day later, they fixed it with new parts, apologized and offered no compensation. I then used them for a cam job. I dropped the bike off on a Thursday night for a Friday appointment for a four hour job. I had all the parts in hand they went through them and said I was good to go. They called me Friday at 3:30 pm to tell me they needed to replace my pushrod covers, I gave them the okay and asked if I could pick up my bike Saturday morning. They said no problem. Went there at 10 am and my bike was never even touched. A mechanic looked at my parts. Said he needed covers and never touched it all day Friday. They then told me it would be ready Saturday after noon. So I came back at one and they had just pulled my bike out and were starting on it. They didn't finish till 5 o'clock after having my bike for two and a half days with a Friday appointment. They still charged me full price, and left oil smudges all over my chrome heat shields, timing cover, and clutch cover. Didn't wipe down before test riding it. Worst service department I've ever dealt with. read more

this place sucks. every time I go in there the parts guy says this is all you need and every time I have to come back to get what is needed to finish the job.each time this costs me additionally hundreds of dollars I was not expecting and told I would not have to pay buy the guy at the counter. the same goes with the girls at the parts counter and the service dept. read more

Retail Sales (clothing, parts, etc.): Always had a good experience in part finding, and they have a good amount of parts in stock. Always assistance there to help if you need to compare Jackets/Helmets/Etc. Staff seems to be fairly knowledgeable. Note: Harley Screaming Eagle tuners will NOT be likely to be accepted at any other shops (Found none in Reno which will use the Screaming Eagle Tuner). Training: Very willing to set you up with a class, but they lack in rescheduling, retaking course portions, etc. Did not give hints and tips to my girlfriend to help her prepare for the class (i.e. Do grip exercises, illustrating glove types and importance of fit, etc.). I normally rave about the class for first time riders (I took the course in Las Cruces and benefitted greatly even though I've ridden most of my life), but with these snafu's I'm not certain I will continue recommending them. The training quality is still above par from what I've heard from my friends that I've sent to the course. Overall, Good Training during the course, Bad preparation and course scheduling. Service: I would ONLY recommend allowing the service department to do minor maintenance or Harley branded installations. I had a multitude of parts I had installed and I had to go into the shop and show the technicians how to install them. My exhaust pipes flanges were only finger-tight after they installed them, this caused play which damaged the aluminum of the heads. Nothing terrible being I caught it quickly enough and fixed it myself. This in my opinion is entirely UNSAT. I had scheduled my bike to be dyno-tuned with all my new parts in July. It is now November and they have finally successfully tuned it. Dyno issues were stated on the 3 times I had brought in the bike and tuner. My father had his oil changed and they over-filled the reservoir which ended up spitting oil out once the bike was heated up. No damage to the bike, although he required new pants at this point. Overall, I would say the technicians are in general pretty inept and easily overlook things. Definitely suggest double checking ALL work done by the Service Department when you get home. Overall: The store and staff are always willing to help, pretty knowledgeable and don't ignore you. The service department screwing up so badly is why I gave only 2 stars. The business as a whole should get 3.5-4.0 stars if the service department sank into a sinkhole. read more

Your shop refused to help my daughter and her husband to fix a flat and they offered to pay overtime. They had no where to go because all the rooms in Reno were full because of Labor Day. Your manager sucks he could have stayed open twenty more minutes to help!!! read more

Just purchased a 2016 Road Glide Special. Great buying experience, no BS and didn't try and sell me something I didn't want or need. Sean and Brett were awesome, really worked hard to make sure I got the bike I wanted with the terms I needed. I had called Sean several times with questions and different buying scenarios and he was always quick to get me the answers I needed and walked me through the various options. will never do business with this store again. I bought my bike on June 7th ordered a stage 4 kit tuner, new pipes, new air intake, sissy bar and a cruise control. I was told that all parts & labor would total 7500 at max that is with dyno tuning & all paid for all the parts and never received a receipt for it. I dropped my bike off a the third week of July after all the parts should have been there. After like the 3rd time I was told that it was not there i decided that i was not going to wait anymore because i was nervous about the warranty on it being void after the 2 month period of buying the bike. It was getting close and the very next day they called & said the stage 4 kit was in, which is weird because it was not even supposed to ship for another 4 to 5 days! This was at about 11am on a tuesday morning that they called and i said yes put it on. I then asked Daniel the silver tongued service manager what the price was going to be just to double check and he said he was not sure because all the hours had not been billed yet meaning they charge for hours worked, and he had to wait for the job to get done. Sounds odd right. Fast forward to thurs around noon of the same week. I get a call that the bike is done. Okay sweet whats the remainder of the bill that I owe 4500 (I had already paid for all the parts 4300) of a bill that is going to be 7500 dollars! How did it go up that much? Daniel tells me that is how much that job costs & you never paid for the tuner $700. As far as i knew i did why would i buy all the parts except the tuner. Makes no sense and Im not paying that much & so i asked where is the other cost coming from to make it that much. Well you had a lot of parts like the sissy bar ,the foot peg that we changed out (I DID NOT ORDER A FOOT PEG) and everything else. Now i did get exhaust & such so i asked don't you all take all that off anyway when you do the stage 4. There should not be any extra cost to put new parts on when you are taking the motor apart anyways. Daniel tells me oh no we don't CHARGE for that but HARLEY says that 33.4 hours is how long that job takes so why couldn't he give me a def price when i asked. To install the stage 4 & map it to the tuner. Weird because it only took about 20 hours to install all parts according to the time they asked me if I still wanted the install to the time on Thursday to when they said it was done. Okay sounds fishy but ill pay the price of 3800 just so its done & over with & i would talk to Daniel in person. Meanwhile i call every HD DEALER IN THE STATE and got quotes from them. Not one of them was over 2200 dollars for the install with dyno & all they tell me that Harley says that the booked hours on that job are no more than 22 hour. Good job Daniel you just lost a customer for life in Reno HD. Its already done & i know that since I already paid I'm not getting any kinds of refunds from them but i do explain to Daniel that i had called every HD in NV & what they quoted me he told me they were fishing to get me in there almost like what you all did huh Daniel. i picked up my bike got it home & found that the right rear peg was down i go to put it up & it falls back down again, wont lock in place how does this happen its brand new i look closer & what do i find the arm that hold the peg is beat all to hell so i call Reno & let the know whats going on I take pictures I could email them in case they want to see it for them selves. Daniel calls the next morning so i tell him whats going on he says to bring the bike in I tell him I live 4 hours away can send him a pic if he will send the part ill put it on myself he tells me they arn't going to do that. looks to me like they at least new about the peg & mount being jacked up Why else would he have brought changing out my peg in a prior convo at the worst took mine off to replace someone else. management there is shady don"t GO there I now its under new management now from when I was told that they were good to deal with save yourselves money & being lied to go somewhere else. read more

During the 7 months I spent test riding bikes and saving the money to buy, these guys were GREAT. They were patient with me and I enjoyed going down there just to browse. They always encouraged me to get out and take a test ride, even when they knew I wasn't ready to buy. They eventually found me a bike that was perfect for me and made me a great deal on it! Made a deal on a used bike. going on week number five for them to deliver it to me. Of course they already have my trade. Communication is terrible. First it was a switch they were waiting on, now the speedometer is not working. They brag about the big award they recently got and promise the world during sales process. Once deal is done the sales team could care less. The guy in service has been nice enough but really, 5 weeks to install a stereo, pipes and bars????? Apparently this Harley Dealership doesn't understand women actually ride. Not just sit on a bike for a photo. I went into the rental portion of Harley to rent a bike while I was visiting Reno. There was a woman behind the counter. She looked up at me while she was typing and said nothing to me. I waited patiently. A man walked in behind me and as soon as he got close to me she said "Can I help you guys?" AS IF WE WERE A COUPLE!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! She did not speak to me or acknowledge me until a man walked up. WTF!!! I am still mad about this and it was weeks ago. I leaned in and explained to her we are not a couple and I do not know him. Still, she could care less. I was so bummed that a fellow female treated me like that. At a Harley Dealer no less. If you take note Harley use's women in so many of their ads. Clearly, they do not mean it and they are using women to look cool. I am just so disappointed in this dealership. read more

5 stars is not nearly enough for this phenomenal Harley Davidsor dealership. We are over the top impressed with our experience in purchasing our new CVO Road Glide. We are longtime yearly visitors of Chesters and when we made the decision to buy, they were our first choice. Sean was so very accommodating as our sales person and was wonderful in arranging the transportation of 2 of our trade-in bikes from Santa Rosa to a Reno. He was so very professional and friendly and worked with us to get us into the bike of our dreams. Brett and Daniel handled our financing and they were both extremely helpful in working with our budget and terms to get us the best financing ever. This dealership accommodated our needs to the extreme ~ working with our distance and time issues, they provided exceptional customer service. When we arrived to pickup our new bike and turn in our Street Glide, we were greeted with smiles and everything was ready to go. We can't wait to visit them in September when we go back to Reno.
