Like many here, I came to Reno's Roofing because of the 5 star reviews. I hope you have a more honest experience than I had. If you're not diligent in learning about roofing and materials, and then supervising every step of their work, it's possible that you could be in for a "switcharoo" with cheaper materials and/or sloppy work. Of the many roofing companies that quoted me, all the legitimate* roofing companies' quotes hovered mid-$20,000 for my roof. (*valid licenses and insurances, materials from top companies like GAF, Owens Corning, Malarkey, etc.) Reno's Roofing estimate was $6,000-$10,000 less than all of them. Reno's also described premium materials and techniques that were meticulous, like the legitimate roofers similarly explained to me. I asked Gerry and Reno to see the materials and over months, there was great difficulty in getting to see the materials. In everything, Reno and the office was kept in the loop so Reno was aware of what was going on. As I got to see materials from Gerry finally, what Gerry delivered detracted from what they described in the contract. The materials they brought to my house were unbranded; it was not the high quality name brand stuff they wrote in my contract. I thanked him and asked if I may see the exact materials which would be installed on my roof. More back and forth communication occurred because they said they didn't have any sample materials to show me. (The materials were very standard, not special order materials.) Weeks later, Gerry delivered materials but what he delivered, while it was now the correct brand, was of a cheaper model within the brand. Without any ambiguity, I asked Gerry pointedly if this was the correct model of materials; in asking, I pointed out the name of the upper tier materials which my Reno's Roofing contract said I would get. This time, with complete confidence and no ambiguity, and after weeks of me specifying this model, Gerry confirmed that this was the correct model. It was not. The materials which they intended to install on my roof was the cheapest, bottom tier materials of that brand, not the upper tier stuff in our contract. These are professional roofers. They recognize these materials. This bald-faced lie to me was the last straw that allowed me to conclude what I had already suspected about these weeks of charades. They tried to get away with quoting me at upper tier materials and then installing cheaper materials, some of the same brand but of a more economic tier. Also, as the above was happening, I asked to see their proof of insurance; the insurance proof they showed me was expired. The workers' comp. insurance form I asked to see was also expired. When I pointed this out, they showed me an insurance proof form which looked like it was edited with editing software with the date changed to be valid, and most of the insurance legal language was missing from this form; this was shown to me without explanation. This was pretty weird to see. All together, I witnessed a lot of questionable stuff with Reno's Roofing which all came out from my asking simple questions. So, I do not trust Reno's Roofing, especially with a large, important investment such as this. I'm sure Reno's Roofing knows how to actually do every step correctly; unfortunately, I doubt they do so for all of their customers. I suspect the one star experiences here, with their reviews updated years after Reno's work, are customers who perhaps are experiencing the results of the above lies. From my experience, this is likely a part of how they are able to give you a surprisingly lower quote compared to other companies. Reno's Roofing might not do this to everyone but they certainly did to me and I caught it red handed over a number of interactions. Perhaps Reno's Roofing is used to explaining away any *one* of these oddities but to my thorough way of vetting, it is the totality of circumstances here that tells me the story in addition to Gerry and Reno just lying to my face when the proof, contrary to what they were trying to convince me of, was printed directly on the materials they delivered. If I were you, I would save up until you could afford a serious and consistently more honest roofing company. If Reno's Roofing's proposal is too good to be true, it just might be. If you decide to go with Reno's Roofing, consider not signing the contract until you get verifiable answers to these basic questions, consider seriously doing your homework on roofing materials and labor, and consider closely double checking the materials inventory and every step they take. read more

They are licensed employer with all compensation package for workers. They covered all broken tiles as they committed so I didn't need to pay extra. I had Reno's replace my roof about 2 months ago, and overall I'm very happy with the work they did. John was my main point of contact and was always good about answering my phone calls and questions. Reno's gave a competitive quote, which did grow with a few surprises after they removed the old roofing materials. Not surprising given the age of my home and previous roof. I will say, I've been picking up debris from the project for the last two months, not a lot, but every now and again I find a nail or scrap of wood in the yard. Worst of all, was a bunch of debris that had fallen down and jammed my kitchen exhaust fan. These minor gripes aside, I was happy with the quote, communication, materials and speed with which the job was completed. Would recommend you give Reno's a call. read more

Great experience! The detail in the estimate was far beyond what we experienced with two roofing businesses we elected not to go with. The level of detail provided a sense of transparency in pricing that we were very comfortable with. The work though! Three torch down sections, and two gable sections. They all look fantastic. I didn't think roofs could be so pretty! Value wise, they came in where we expected. We knew we would need new wood in a couple of sections and they sent before and after photos to ease our minds. Look no further, these are the guys. From original estimate through the entire process, these guys are dedicated professionals. Costs very reasonable. Some other company estimators we had liked to instill fear in their estimate process, and that showed up in their estimate price. Roger, our Reno estimator, showed nothing but confidence and could pretty much tell what was going to be needed by walking on the roof. His estimate was pretty much spot on in our case. The only negative was an attempt to upsell on the day of tear off by the owner. Install was delayed by doing it in the rainy season, but the office worked hard to accommodate us. Install day was during the horrendous winds LA had in mid March, so probably a bit messier than normal. Cleanup was adequate given those conditions. I highly recommend them. read more

Remo roofing is great in one thing. Creating repeat business. They claim higher standard but don't deliver. They knowingly leave leaks behind due to their poor workmanship. They wite up fancy meaningless contact with multiple loopholes so they cam come back with higher cost to fix the poor workmanship behind. They suppose to inspect the roof and look for possible leak areas in addition to the 9bvuiis broken tiles. But in reality they replace the broken tiles, do a wishy washy caulking instead of replacement of papers and proper repairs. This way a follow up call for next leak is guaranteed. They cone they claim all there is to get out of poor quality workmanship. You are told that now you need a whole new roof. This pictures alone will tell you the agony we are dealing with. We used Reno Roofing in 2020 for our home in Burbank when we had a leak in the flat part of the roof. They came and were fast and efficient. Recently, we needed to replace the pitch of the house roof and garage. We received several quotes from Reno and other roofing companies, but Reno came in at the best quote. They showed up when they said they would and completed the job from start to finish within 5 days. We are very happy with the quality of materials and workmanship. Leaky roof is no fun! I had a few companies to look at the situation and I decided to fix only the section where I was having an issue. Crossing my fingers for the remaining of the roof. The price I was quoted was in the lower or matching of what others have told me. The other ones were offering the black roof cover which is guarantee for 15 years. They used the peel and stick which is guarantee for 30. they also have guarantee on their work for 2 years. Of the other companies I had over, one had 1 year and the other NONE. Yikes! Not comforting! I had some tiles that the previous owner replaced (I guess) because they were of a different shade of grey. Along with the cracked one they found and replaced, they did those as well. I have a flat roof. I maintained my previous flat roof for nearly 25 years. I have construction experience. I have roofed flat and pitched roofs. I have framed, performed plumbing and electrical, drywalled, etc. in renovations and new construction. I let Reno's know about my experience. There was poor communication on site. Different people showed up each day, so things did not get communicated from one day to the next. The Crew Lead never introduced himself, so I didn't know who to talk with when I saw an issue. He was not on site all the time either, so I couldn't communicate with him freely. I had to call the office to get word to the crew lead. The crew called the office when they had questions for me, when they only had to knock on my door and ask me directly. They called for the wood inspection prematurely. The inspector returned the next day, but they still weren't ready. The inspector was annoyed. I walked with the Inspector for each inspection. For the final inspection, workmanship was passable from an LA County perspective, but not from my perspective. The Inspector confirmed that workmanship issues were between me and the contractor. The Inspector (and LA County) could only get involved if they failed to meet code. They put patches on my brand-new roof! The scupper was not centered and was crooked. They put seams at a critical spot on the roof even after I talked with several of the crew about my concerns for that area. Their solution was to cover that area with a silicone coating. They unrolled the roofing material cold, which left "waves" in the material. When I pointed this out to the crew lead in front of the Inspector, the crew lead said the waves were caused by the wood not being flat. I explained that if the wood was not flat, it would not have passed inspection. The Inspector agreed. Later, when I pointed this out to the person who bid the job, he also claimed that the wood was cupped/warped/bowed. Again, I explained that that was not possible because the surface wouldn't have passed the wood inspection. They offered no fix, and just continued to gaslight me. Even if these "waves" don't cause leaks, I will need to be extra careful not to step on them when I am on the roof for maintenance. They unrolled one layer crooked (not parallel). Instead of fixing it, they left it. The Inspector explained that if they added coating to the portion that had less than the proper overlap, it would be acceptable to LA County. Reno's slapped some paint on that stretch and passed inspection. A worker dropped a tool down the wall, onto my shower pipes. I told the crew twice and the office once that they needed to remove it before putting the roof on. In spite of that, the crew was going to put the roof on without retrieving their tool. I stopped them and said they could not proceed until they got it out. They finally removed it. Workers blocked my driveway. They did not knock on the door to let me know they were there and starting to work. They didn't check to see if I needed to get my car out of the driveway before they blocked me in. After I pointed out all these issues (and more) and my concerns with workmanship, the person who bid the job and the crew lead downplayed my concerns and gaslit me. I was also told to just put a silicone coating on it in about 10 years, and it will last another 10 years. Do they think I'm going to pay them for that? Workmanship is guaranteed for five years, and roofing material is guaranteed for 12 years. Of course, Reno's will be dealing with any workmanship issues within 5 years, but I fully expect that I'll be dealing with workmanship-related problems at year 6. I got a NEW roof, so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I paid professionals, because A) it's a bigger job than I wanted to tackle, B) I assumed they'd do a better job than I would do. I don't think the people doing the actual work are certified roofers. They aren't being properly supervised by an experienced roofer. They also did a bait and switch with materials. They bid a roofing material with SRI 96. They gave me material with SRI 91. I had a silicone coating added to another roof. They used a different brand for that as well. From the spec sheets, those materials were equivalent, so that is less concerning. They did not ask me about the silicone, but they did ask about switching the roof material. I said it was OK as long as the replacement material was equivalent, but it is clearly not equivalent. I mentioned the problems I had to coworkers. They said they had similar experiences with Reno's: Good communication with the office and with the person who bid the job, poor communication flow to the crew, who made ill-advised decisions and rookie workmanship mistakes. In their case, Reno's worked leaked and caused problems inside for the home owners. Reno had to come back out and fix the job in the way that the homeowners initially discussed with Reno's. Highly Recommend Reno's Roofing - We recently had the roof on our 1930's Spanish home replaced after the rains were particularly cruel this past winter to our property and we had lots of leaking. We received a handful of bids from other roofers who were predominately flaky and never followed through. We were very lucky to find Reno's Roofing after an exhaustive process. They were extremely communicative and professional through the whole process. Their bid was in the range of other roofers but their customer service and follow through were heads and tails above the rest. Reno's Roofing did a great job on our house in Westlake Village. We bought the house in 2020 and it looked like the clay tile roof had not been properly maintained in the 30 years since it was built. We decided to do a complete reset of the roof and add solar panels at the same time. Over 6 months we got bids from 7 contractors(!) before we found one we liked and trusted (Reno's) and who quoted us a reasonable price. This was a pretty complicated project because of the solar factor, but Roger and Tina were a pleasure to work with -- knowledgeable, trustworthy, straight up, and very efficient. They always responded to my many questions quickly, respectfully, and thoroughly. Marvin and the installation crew did an excellent job repairing and resetting the roof. I've never seen anyone work so hard in my life. They were even up there knocking it out on 100º days. They were polite, efficient, and cleaned up well. Unfortunately the project got delayed by the solar contractor, but Reno's team kept cool-headed about it all and got the job done without hassle. Reno did a teardown of my roof, and a silicone coating on another building. They gave me informative advice on what should and maybe shouldn't be done. They broke zero tiles, were able to get around me building a platform for my furnace/ac. Their price included the permit, dealt with the HPOZ people, and it was among the lowest bids. Then it rained like crazy. Because it was not a huge job, Tina scheduled me in after the rain passed, and they knocked it off in one day, insted of the projected two. Plus their cleanup was clean! I got 4 different quotes to reroof my house; One company gave me a quote on the phone with out looking at the roof- just based it on square footage. The second company came out, and the owner kept telling me how busy he was, and when I had a follow up question to the quote, I never got a call back. The third company didn't even listen to what I wanted done, just told me how THEY did roofs-a lot of upsell I didn't need, and thier quote was twice as high as the others. We used Reno's roofing to replace our 25 year old roof. They did their job quickly, efficiently, and were very friendly and professional. They use top of the line shingles (CertainTeed Landmark Solaris, we chose the energy efficient silver birch color) and also replaced part of our damaged fascia board in about 4 days. Gabriel was the main roofer in charge of our job and we found him very easy to communicate with, very nice, and responsive to any questions we had. He gave us some tips about maintenance and even came back after the job was done to remove a satellite dish that we no longer needed from the roof. He told me he uses software and had no need to visually inspect my roof. Then he asked, "Do you have any questions for me?" "Yes", I responded, with questions as below: 1. How long of a warranty do you provide? 2. What kind of underlayment do you use? To my shock he replied he only provides a five year warranty for his labor (when industry standard is ten years). He also told me there is no warranty on the paper. He at first mentioned he uses one called 'Titanium'. Then when he saw my dismay, he said he prefers two layers of paper. Seriously? There are not enough positive things I can say about Reno and his team. We recently bought a home with a the tile roof and the underlayment needed to be replaced. While this is a scary prospect for a first time home owner, Reno and his team were absolutely incredible and made the process painless. The team was incredibly friendly, prompt, and patient with all of our questions. We really enjoyed having Gabriel and team at the house- they are the nicest and a pleasure to work with! I also found them to be extremely knowledgeable. They ended up saving us tile because the previous roofer had put them too close together, which does not allow for optimal water flow.
