This place is an absolute scam. First of all, it is NOT part of the Houston Airport Rental Car Center and is NOT located in the terminal as advertised on their website. That alone is very misleading. The company appears to be based in London and uses virtual agents for customer service, which resulted in extremely slow and frustrating communication. Even though I had already paid the full amount online, including additional insurance, the agent still asked for my credit card and insisted I needed to purchase yet another insurance policy. This made absolutely no sense. I also didn't like the virtual assistant setup- and it feels intentional because of the hidden fees you're slapped with when picking up the vehicle. Never rent from this place and if you do- don't accept the price they give you. I demanded they cut the cost way down for the inconvenience and dishonest booking experience. The virtual assistant brought the additional costs down to under 200$ which I shouldn't have had to do in the first place if they just were transparent upon booking. Best to go with the main car rental services who have actual shuttles that come regularly to pick up and drop off at the airport. read more

This rental car company is NOT at IAH. It is NOT at the google location, and if you call the 800 number they do not have the correct address either. The shuttle, is a white small transport marked "hotels", nothing else. SO many hidden fees! once your they you just pay so you can leave. You rent talking to a TV screen with a virtual agent, if you get a monitor that works. This was by far one of the worst car rental experiences I've ever had. These guys are complete scammers. They charged us a huge extra fee for insurance that they never mentioned anywhere upfront. There was absolutely no shuttle service from the airport to the rental location or back to the airport, even though they told us "it'll be there in 10 minutes." We ended up waiting 45 minutes to an hour and no shuttle ever arrived, so we had to pay for an Uber out of pocket. On top of that, the original rental price was supposed to be about 286 Canadian dollars, and after all these hidden fees, insurance they forced on us, and the Uber costs, we ended up paying around 700 dollars total. There's zero customer service--you can't reach a real person, just chatbots or some virtual agents who barely respond. Everyone at the location was frustrated and saying they'd been scammed too. Virtual agent, I paid $50 a day for the FULL COVERAGE of the vehicle for 1 week, took the photos they require before/after and my own personal photos too, after drop off, they emailed me an Incident report saying there was windshield damage and gas tank not full. I have photo proof it was and that there was no windshield damage. I declined the toll transponder at $25 a day. I really wish there was a zero star rating because this company deserves it. I have a list of complaints and I'm sure anyone who has rented a car from them also has a list. Here are my complaints: 1. The check-in policy to pick up the vehicle was clunky and not timely. They have "virtual" agents on a computer screen and there seemed to be a problem with their internet connection. From the time airpot shuttle dropped me off at the facility location to the time I actually received the keys to the vehicle, approximately 90 mins had elapsed. 2. I made an online reservation and was quoted a 4-day rental for $51. When it came time to pick up the vehicle outside they airport, after the various "admin fee waivers" and the sort, the price tripled to $133. This was even after I used my personal car insurance to cover the liability and collision damage. This was EVEN after they kept trying to upsell me on the EZ Pass for tolls because "Houston roads can be tricky and there are tolls everywhere" as the virtual agent told me--I declined. 3. There was a family medical emergency and I returned the car two days early to fly back home. I notified the company of my plans to ensure the process went as smoothly as possible. They said to call when I was about 15 mins away so they could make sure the shuttle was there to transport back to the airport. I stopped at a gas station about 5 mins away from the rental return, began filling the car and then gave them a call. I dropped the car off with no issues and received my final invoice three days later...they charged me an extra $25 "gas fee" for returning the car "less than full." I highly discourage anyone from using RENT A CAR 4 LESS as the company is not worth your time or hard earned money. Never again! read more

Booked through Priceline. I thought I got a pretty good deal. Had hard time finding shuttle at airport. Took almost an hour to get to rental place. Then another hour to get through process online. Gentleman on other end of line was charming and helpful. Very expensive fees of 25 dollars a day for toll. Also pretty much required insurance since I had not brought my insurance card. No in person interaction making process more of a hassle. Felt like COVID all over again. On way back took 45 minutes for shuttle to arrive. Drivers on shuttles were both very nice and very helpful. There are so many hidden cost that the deposit is $860.00 and the rental for 10 days started at $280.00 then $570.00 plus $260.00 which came to $820.00 without taxes and other charges. This service seems new, and unfortunately, my experience was terrible. The shuttle ride was awful. I had to call customer service to request a shuttle to the airport and ended up waiting an hour for it to arrive. When it did, the van was dirty and smelled bad. I had to load my own suitcase, and the sliding door didn't work, so I had to close it halfway myself and jump in. When it was time to return the car I called customer service an hour before to confirm the shuttle would be there, but they informed me that the rental car place was closed. I was told I had to leave the car at the park-and-ride, only to be told by the attendant that they don't allow that. After more calls to customer service, I was directed back to the rental car place and the lot attendant would take me to the airport. The lot attendant there refused to take me to the airport. Eventually, the shuttle arrived, but it was cramped with people and luggage, and we had to make an extra stop at a motel to pick up more customers. All this chaos nearly made me miss my flight. I will never use this service again; it was the worst experience I've ever had. read more

I declined to pay extra charges and they will not refund the initial charge. Waited for shuttle 1 hour after being told it comes every 20 minutes. No in person just video chat with a person who knows were they are at. Returned the car waited another hour for the shuttle which nver showed up. I called the 1-800 number multiple times it was never answered. I rented a car from Rent a Car 4 Less on 5/29/2025 and returned it in the same condition I received it. After returning the vehicle, the company falsely claimed there were scratches and attempted to file a claim with my personal insurance (which I only have liability coverage for). My insurance denied the claim. What makes this worse is that they required me to purchase their own insurance coverage during the rental--yet they refused to use it and instead charged my credit card $3,055.40 for supposed damages that I did not cause. They provided no clear evidence, no repair invoice, and no justification for bypassing the coverage I paid for. This is unacceptable and feels like a scam. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company and reported this issue to the Better Business Bureau. My advice: Avoid this company. Their practices are predatory, and they do not honor the insurance coverage they force customers to buy. read more

I will never rent from this company again. Two stars, because it's on me for not reading the fine print. Plan on paying double the base price that you pay up front. They don't reveal this until you are on-site. If you provide your own insurance, they will charge $20/day for this. It's another $17/day for toll passes; 'only' $10/day to use their toll pass and have the tolls deducted from your hefty deposit later on. I would've walked after learning this, but their rental facility is miles from IAH at a long-term parking lot in the middle of nowhere. So, I sucked it up, and make sure that I'll broadcast my dissatisfaction, so hopefully at least one person avoids the unpleasant surprise I had last night. Rent A Car 4 Less winds up being signifacantly more expensive, and much less convenient than renting from one of the big companies with an office at the airport. Avoid this place - it's a shack in a long term parking lot, and the employees are virtual. You'll have to leave a hefty deposit - noted nowhere when I placed my rental through Priceline - of $1,000 unless you leave them a positive Google review while on w/ the virtual employees, then they'll lower it to $500. You have to take pics of the cars to note the condition at pickup and drop off, so if you miss something on pickup you're likely screwed. Pay a few bucks more and rent from a normal company with actual employees at the lot. read more

I was upgraded just for being a first time customer. He did not try and make me write a review for it, like I have heard. Which is why I made sure to write this review after drop off. Now the deposit is high $500. They did charge me to use my own insurance. The car was a Kia Soul. All the cars are Kia souls. Didn't see any other type of car.
