Dear Rerun, I would like to say thanks for the abso-fabsolutely perfect white dresser that you sold me. I think you must have known I've been searching for that very piece of furniture at Goodwill and on craigslist for weeks. The morning of the purchase, I had a feeling that I needed to come by to see if you had my dresser, even though I'd never been to the store before. Did you send me that message somehow, communicating with my brain even though you are a mere secondhand store? Anyway, it is perfect. I brought it home to my farmhouse and squealed with delight as I noticed how the roughened edges and antique white paint fit in so perfectly, as though it was made for my house. Thanks for rescuing me from futile hours of scanning the craigslist furniture section. Next time I visit, I'll check out your other pieces of furniture and clothes and jewelry, but this time, I was just too distracted by the thrill of actually finding my lil' white dresser. As someone who owns my own vintage store in portland, I need a place to shop on my days off. I didn't get into the business to sell things, I got into the business because I needed a place to put all of my collections. ;) The selling part is a bonus, because than you can make room in your house for more treasure. cycle? yes. vicious? duh, of course not. Rerun has become my place of choice to go treasure hunting for my newly cleaned shelves. Things are priced to move, and they have a great eye for what to bring in the shop. Consistently good quality, and consistently cool. Cool enough to go at least once a week, I'd say! Check em out, they are the bench mark for what a great vintage consignment shop should be. Oh, I almost don't want to tell you this, because I fear you'll get there before me and pick all the great things before I can. But I have to, I have to share how wonderful this place is. With minimal hesitation, I can say that this is the best thrift store I've found in Portland. What they have is good. Like, really good. I walked out the other day with a beautifully striped dress, a like-new Charlie Chaplin box movie set, earrings made out of monopoly pieces, and a locket ring. I wanted so much more. There were beautiful scarves, hats, furniture, decorations- I mean, really, you name it and it was there. And it was dazzling. Also, some thrift stores have really sketchy changing rooms. Not Rerun! Re-run is one of my favorite thrift stores in Portland. You can always find something fun or useful. My two favorite purchases: leather bracelet with the word "joy" on a brass plate--$6 awesome-o Dania bed--$60. I frequently come home with exactly what I've been looking for. I agree that sometimes I leave with nothing, it isn't for lack of merchandise. They have a very quick turnover for their small store so if you see it and don't get it, you probably won't find it again.... and someone else will get your perfect table. :) Portland favorite. ... Having moved not to far away from this store last summer, it came in SUPER handy for all the random odds-n-ends my housemates and I needed to furnish our house. The variety of items is pretty stellar. A classic you-never-know-what-you-are-gonna-find-store. Just today I found some great vintage cookbooks and gardening books, which I'll use to turn into some handmade gifts and cards. They also have a huge amount of vintage postcards, and the layout of the store is super shopable. Unlike other vintage/thrift/consignment shops, this place has a solid variety for men's clothing - especially a variety in sizes. Not all male portlanders are skinny tiny elfin hipsters, and this is a great place to find that awesome shirt I wear four days a week. If you live in the neighborhood, you're lucky. If you don't, its definitely worth the drive up MLK. read more

Love their stuff! I think their prices are amazing. Can not get over the attitude of the staff. Try to smile at your customers, make them glad they are choosing to spend their hard earned money at your place of business. Not carry an attitude like you've already judged everyone & you're put out that they're wanting to buy stuff & asking questions. One of the other places in portland that takes my brand of clothes (urban). This is the only co-signment place I've been that is diverse and even treats their customers with respect and not racist. I think because the neighbor is changing everyone is hippie like they are more down to earth, which I like. Always friendly and usually can find some steals in there. Their furniture selection is usually the thing I shop there for...happy its in the area. My only compliant is that sometimes one buyer will (not buy) your items and then I'll go 2-3 weeks later and get someone else to accept it! I just wish they all followed the same guidelines. read more

Aww yeah! This is what consignment store shopping should be. Nice and helpful folks working behind the counter and always an interesting parade of goods coming in. We have been consignors there with great results. They may reject a few pieces that you want to sell, but the stuff that they do select does sell. It's nice to make $40 every few months from cleaning out the closet. Another item about Rerun that needs to be mentioned is their electronics/ records section. If you are a vinyl lover, it's worth the occasional drop in. If you are in need of a new tuner for less than $50, you will most certainly find it. read more

Wow, this place is doing a great job rekindling my passion for thrift stores! I love to shop resale if I can. Why pay full price if you can find it for half the price just slightly used? The problem usually is finding it. Rerun doesn't throw all the crap they get on the shelves. They have to be choosy because of their smaller space, and the result is a lot of quality used goods! Anything from clothes to cameras, fabric to kitchen appliances. You don't have the selection of a large box thrift store (ie value village, goodwill) but this is a good thing! I can't stress enough that quality is better than quantity. Their prices were always shockingly low, and everyone working was fun and friendly. It's a great place to Christmas shop or to just refresh your wardrobe. A true Portland gem. read more

When times get tough I use rerun to supplement my income. I have very rarely purchased items from here, as that would defeat the purpose of me selling all my old crap. That said... I love this place!!! I'm kind of an impulse buyer, so I end up looking around my house and am all "why did I get that?". Rerun is the pack rats savior. Selling at Rerun is a most pleasant experience. They buy almost all the stuff I bring in, and are super friendly the entire time. Each time I go in there I check out the inventory to see what they're buying, and I rarely see the same thing twice. The prices on the stuff is low enough that stock must rotate pretty quickly. I highly recommend this place to either spend money or make money. read more

I'll call it the little consignment thrift vintage knick knack store that could! Be careful when pulling into the parking lot - one might run over a dresser or a hat rack you might be coveting. I scored a disco 45, and they do have some CD's for sale, i almost bought an Au Pairs CD, but i digress. Lots of chotzches (sp?) and gift ideas to be had. I like this place a lot. It's well-organized and and the building/decor is really attractive. They have a great selection of shoes, bags, coats, and casual but dressy clothes. If I were going out and wanted to find something attractive to wear, I'd go both here and to Village Merchants. They have sections for kitchen ware, sheets/blankets, books, dvds, and children's movies. They have interesting knick-nacs. They have a restroom (hooray!) The only problem for me with this place is remembering that it is here, because I have to make a special trip to go there--it's not near anything else that I do. I do make a special trip about once a month and I always find something good. read more

Lots of great finds in a pretty teeny store. I was super impressed with how many fun things this store had. Although i'm not sure what they do with the wealth of furniture, and clothing, they had on display outside when it's pouring rain, but there was tons and tons of stuff. They had a few nice old school cameras behind their glass case, as well as some fun jewelry and watches. Unfortunately i'm on a pretty tight budget so i'm only allowed to browse, but i will definitely be back! read more

If I could just buy all the furnitures and send it back to Indiana.... *sigh* It was my last day in Portland when I decided to visit this store, so then I was wary about buying too many things that wouldn't fit into my suitcase. And you know what? I've made a huge mistake. Their clothes selection is nice, their media collection, other miscellanies. Kind of like a quirkier Goodwill Rerun is great not only in its uniqueness, but also their price. The closest shops I can think of that kind of feels like Rerun are the antique shops in Austin's South Congress, but of course it's way pricier. Danger, you are now entering a money suction device. I don't like "thrift stores or vintage boutiques," but this place is great. It's like having a mini version of craigslist a few blocks away. Quality furniture, random home decor, clothes, and a spastic collection of items you wouldn't think of buying but one day you walk in to buy the hedge trimmers you've strangely coveted and somebody's beat you to it. Remember closed on Tuesday and if you buy a lot of things organize it buy seller so the line moves faster. read more

This is a great re-sale shop to check out. They seem to choose to sell only pretty decent stuff, and a great find at a great price is not unusual. I recently scored a Chemex CM-2 manual coffee maker, original from 1976, complete, never used in box with original price tag (from Kitchen Kaboodle) and instructions for $8. Staff is fun, atmosphere is festive, and you don't have to deal with all the junk you find at Goodwill. read more

Being a consignment shop I was thinking the prices would be middle to high considering they have awesome taste in furniture and unique items, but i was pleasantly surprised on how reasonable the prices were! Find Cool, hand selected, gently used items. The staff was quirky and cool. Very nice and helpful. The store was small, but packed with really great finds, from housewares, furniture, to clothes, jewelry, and kitchy nic knacks. I found some really cool Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec art tumbler glasses, didn't buy them, but they rocked. I was looking for some wall art, they had a bunch, just nothing up my alley. I did end up finding a practically brand new tunic from Forever 21, in great shape, and only $6. Everything in the shop was priced to sell fast. Next time I'm in Portland, I'll definitely stop here again. read more

Just passing through town on my way down the west coast on foot so it was a great stop to get some cheap, yet great quality, T-shirt's to change in to. If I lived locally I would definitely stop in for some knick-knacks and home decor items. Seriously the best vintage store in Portland, and I am the kinda gal who is afraid that mall clothes steal your soul. I have been a vintager/ thrifter since I could shop for myself. Here is why Rerun rocks- 1) great stuff, always. 2) VERY reasonable prices. I mean very. I never see that thing I really want to buy and say "if only it were less." Freakin' Goodwill could take a lesson on pricing for affordability from the folks at Rerun. 3) The staff is super nice. Because the prices are so good, they turn inventory over very quickly, which makes each shopping experience new, even if you stop buy fairly often. But- that also means you can't assume that something will be there waiting for you if you dont buy when you first see it. Its my fave. read more

Fantastic. I took my mom here because she was in town & loves thrift stores and I couldn't have found better (Thanks Yelp!). I'm not into vintage clothes (even if I could fit into them) but Rerun has an amazing selection of fun housewares, kids stuff, collectables and funky craft stuff. I found a vintage dress form, a potholder weaver, and some awesome dishes. If you thrift you should definitely visit this store. The staff is super friendly, there's good parking, the prices are reasonable and you never know what you will find! read more

This place is no Crate and Barrel, but I'm not complaining! This is the place to go for special finds, screamin deals and high quality stuff. They don't really have a focus, they have a little bit of furniture, clothes, shoes, old records, classic playboys and jewelry. They often do a deal where certain tag colors are 25% or 50% off. I just scored a Chrome laptop bag for $12 and a Lacoste Laptop bag for $13. Both in primo condition! They also have a HUGE selection of snowboarding gear (brand new), i.e. jackets, suits and other items that are super cute and average around $60 a piece. Clean, fun staff and overall, a great place to go hunt for deals! read more

I will never go any place else. They always take at least 50% of my items, they sell all of it! This last batch I made 300$! I love that it's a combo of vintage and new. The employees are sweet and helpful. I just wish I didn't have to always wait so long to get an appointment. They really should do a frequent buyers(/sellers?) This place was so much fun to visit. Though, I was expecting it to be much bigger inside. I thought it had a lot of furniture, and was very surprised to see that it was actually quite small. This place is totally awesome and is so great if you are a super crafter! especially one dealing with fabric and sewing. There was beautiful vintage patterned fabric for very cheap. You got a great deal of it too. Along with plenty of tops to blankets that people never finished. Those are always great, if you are looking to have a cheap blanket, and know how to put one together. There were patterns galore as well. The crafting area took up a whole wall, a small wall, and from a distance, you may think that there isn't a whole lot there, but I think you would be highly surprised by just how much was actually there. Make sure you have plenty of time to go through everything as there seemed to be no end to all of the possibilities of everything there. I wish their kitchen supply area was bigger, along with the children's section. I loved the vintage kitchen tins, and appreciated the low prices on everything. They had a lot of clothes there, but since I am so use to not finding anything in my size, I chose not to look thoroughly. I did however enjoy looking through the vintage hats and the awesome bags that would make you say, "American Apparel, who?" Very nice. Because of the time of year, there were plenty, and I mean PLENTY of costumes. I was in search of a super Mario costume for my son, sadly they didn't have anything. But they had just about everything else, and everything was of quality. Not the plastic toys and plastic clothes from K-mart that you pay an arm and a leg for; they had legitimate cub scout outfits, navy seal, gypsy, military uniforms-- with accessories to match! Will go back definitely when I need to restock my craft supplies, and am ready for an awesome project. Thank you so much everyone! I cannot step foot here without purchasing something. It's right down the street from my house so sometimes I have to intentionally turn my head away as I drive by so I don't end up spending money. The place to go if you love random unique finds that are totally reasonably priced. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it's so cramped and there's always a ton of people working and shopping there. If you go inside you're bound to be practically tripping over someone. Oh and don't go too late as the last 10 minutes or so they start dragging in all the stuff from outside and it's totally impossible to look around. Update: oh Rerun, how I love thee. I had to change my review to 5 stars this year because I am willing to overlook your space restrictions if you will just keep providing me with things I adore! I should give you 1 star just so I don't have to share with others but I want you to be open for ever and ever.... read more

Even in a bad mood I can't avoid buying something in this store. It has such a mix of everything that it is kind of a Tardis. It is bigger than it looks on the outside. Last time I walked out with the weirdest selection of things. Billiard balls, a top, photos from the 1920's, yarn, art and fantasy books, an old typewriter, ceramic salt and pepper shakers. I am tempted to say bad about Rerun because I don't want the place to become popular. It deserves attention though. So, hoping that no one notices, I give the place 5 stars. The prices are generally great (as it is consignment, value varies), the selection is wonderful and always changing and I have had nothing but positive dealings with the people who work there. Looking over reviews, the place hasn't changed much in years (not broke, don't fix it) and bad reviews are personal rather than general. It is one of my favorite places to buy things I don't necessarily need and to find things I do. read more

To each their own! This isn't exactly my "type" of thrift store, but that doesn't mean it deserves a skip-over. This trip, I happened to be looking for furniture which they have some, but not a lot. All the furniture was outside the storefront which was nice as it made it easy to see and get a 360 degree view. Inside is a different story... If you are looking for clothes or just "stuff" than by all means, go inside! The clothes racks were packed tight. They do have fitting rooms, which is nice. Other than that, there are also tons of nick-nacks -- I could see myself going back in if I needed things for art/craft projects, or was a collector. The last thing worth mentioning was that their sales associates (of which there were quite a few!) had a huge pile they were sorting through right in the entry-way. While they were still available to help (awesome) they were taking up extra space in an already crowded store! It would be great if they could do this during closed hours or bring things out of a back room. In the end, would I go back? Sure! If I was looking for clothes or in the mood to browse around. read more

This is one of my favorite vintage spots! I love the way they have their parking lot set up with goods, as it catches my eye every day on my way home. I can't count the times I've seen something while at the stop light, and then driven around the block to go check it out. They have a fun array of goods, from collectibles to halloween costumes. They're usually really fairly priced, and the quality is always great. The staff is nice, and probably work harder than regular retail stores, because of the intricacy of consignment. I've felt completely welcomed all but maybe once or twice, when I could tell the staff had had a busy day. It wasn't that they were rude, but they were just tired. Happy to see they opened another location in NE as well. Good for them! read more

Looking onto ReRun's front stoop, one asks if it's a yard sale put on by some really cool people with keen sense of taste. And you'd be almost right, 'cept for the yard sale bit. They've got a great selection of dresses, shirts and pants, for both guys and dolls. There are old school cameras on display with the jewelry case and the dressing room has a picture of a buffalo in it, so you always have a second opinion as to whether or not that makes you look fat. Chances are it doesn't. Chances are that it's awesome... since it's coming from this joint. read more
