Thanks Volt! I highly recommend this roofing and solar company. Buck and his team are great: very…read moreknowledgable, hard-working, and have amazing attention to detail. On top of that, they're just good down-to-earth people. We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. All in all, if you need a new roof or solar system or home battery, or all of the above, call Volt. They are a competent and professional group of local people who are really f**king good at what they do.

When Buck arrived, he stayed until we were satisfied with our understanding, and I learned so much more from his explanations than from all other companies. Considering they were also roofers and understood the difficulty with our high-pitched roof, we placed more confidence in them than the others. Hence, we chose them after a month of research and estimates. Kristen, their assistant manager, was very communicative throughout the entire project, keeping us informed about what was happening behind the scenes with permits, PG&E approvals, and the team's schedule. That helped us understand the project's time frames. Bucks crew -- Jared, Sean, and the others -- were friendly and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently to finish the job, paying close attention to detail. They went above and beyond, including sharing additional insights about our gutters and attic. I could tell they understood the bigger picture, and I am grateful for their effort. After researching many companies, we are happy we chose Volt Modern and will definitely recommend them to others looking for solar installation and roofing services.

I've had numerous questions after the installation and Jose remains responsive and wants to make sure my system functions at peak performance. Outstanding Service & Professionalism - Highly Recommend Sunwave Energy!…read more Working with Jose and the team at Sunwave Energy has been an incredible experience from start to finish. From our very first meeting, Jose was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping us find the right solar solution for our home. He took the time to walk us through every step of the process and made sure we understood all of our options. The installation of our brand new solar system and backup batteries went smoothly and was completed on time. The crew was respectful, efficient, and clearly experienced--they treated our home with care and kept the worksite clean throughout the project. What really stood out was the level of communication. Jose kept us updated every step of the way and was always available to answer any questions, even after the system was up and running. We feel confident knowing we have a reliable and responsive team behind our energy system. Now that everything is up and running, our energy bills have dropped significantly, and we have the peace of mind that comes with backup power during outages. It's a great feeling to be more energy independent and to know we worked with a company that truly cares about their customers. If you're considering solar, do yourself a favor and call Jose at Sunwave Energy. You won't regret it!

I had sunworks install my 20 solar panels in Oct. of 2013. I was told it came with 24/7 monitoring…read moreand a 25 year warrantee on Parts and Labor. I assumed the 24/7 Monitoring meant they would be alerted if a problem came up. But after a few down years I checked and saw a panel out (bad Micro inverter) so I called them. I had to cal them about 20 times at different times of the day and left messages before I got an answer. When you leave a message it says they are sorry they can not answer you during their business hours of 8-5pm but to leave a message and they will get back to you within 2 business days. It took me about a week to talk to someone. When I asked about the 24/7 monitoring they said that I had to look for problems and tell them, they did not monitor it. Seem like a bait and switch to me. They told me that I had to pay for the labor to get the new Micro inverter that my warrantee only covered parts. I asked them to show me that in my contract. They said they lost some contract and mine was one of them and this is their current policy. Lucky, I had a printed copy of the contract so I had to scan that and send it to them to have for their records. So, at this point I feel like I'm an untrained, unpaid employee of Sunworks. I have to monitor my system 24/7, spend about a week making phone calls to get a hold of them to tell them a panel is out, then I have to scan the warrantee and send it to them to prove that I don't have to pay for parts and labor. They told me it would take 2-4 week to get someone out to fix it, luckily it only took a about a week. So my panel was out just a few years and a couple weeks after I noticed it out. I currently have another panel acting strangely, reporting 1/10th production one day then 200% the next. I call them about 40 times, leave multiple message and finally get some one and they say my system is working perfectly. I point out the strange readings and they say that happens some times, it loses communication then catches up the next day. I wish I was taught this when I wasn't trained for the unpaid 24/7 monitoring job I didn't apply for. The person I got to talk to about this latest issue said the best time to call them is between 8:30am and 4:30pm because they do not answer the phone until 8:30am and leave most days at 4:30pm (but their recording says they are open form 8am to 5pm). I asked her about this and she said, "Yea we talked about changing that..."). So, don't go with Sun-You-Do-The-Work unless you want to be an unpaid employee who has to monitor your system 24/7 looking for errors then when you find one the real work starts trying to track them down, prove your warrantee they conveniently lost and schedule a repair. I have attached a photo of the first panels low production over it's life time (which includes the time after it was repaired).

From the start, the process was confusing and did not inspire confidence. We were initially told the HVAC system would be replaced, but later informed that the space would not accommodate it as planned. The scope of work seemed unclear and ultimately was not completed as originally explained. Since installation, we have continued to experience significant temperature imbalance throughout the home. The living room becomes very cold, while the bedroom remains warm and uncomfortable--especially at night. This has been a consistent issue for the past year. Additionally, the system appears to be oversized for a home of this size. Installing a three-ton unit in a 972 sq ft space raises concerns about improper system sizing, which can lead to short cycling, poor airflow distribution, and uneven temperatures--exactly what we are experiencing. Communication has also been extremely frustrating. We have struggled to get clear answers or meaningful follow-up regarding these ongoing issues, despite raising concerns multiple times. We were recently informed that the project passed inspection, but passing inspection does not reflect real-world performance. A properly installed HVAC system should provide consistent comfort throughout the home, and that is not happening here. After a full year of unresolved issues, incomplete work, and lack of communication, we cannot recommend this company.

These rebates were promised to be sent to me within 60 days after installation. I have still not received them and today is February 2026. This company installed my HVAC units in December 2024 (total $17,000+ ) and also promised rebates totaling $10,000 to be processed and sent to me within 60 days. I accepted a 12 months no interest loan. My plan was to put the $10,000 towards the loan and payoff the remaining balance in its entirety. I have reached out and communicated with the owner Jesse on a monthly and sometimes weekly basis to no avail. I've only received excuses as for the reasons rebates hasn't been processed. Also, I must mention I referred 2 customers to Clear Efficiency and their installs were completed in approx February and March; they BOTH have received their rebate checks. It is now February 2026 and the loan is no longer no interest a the monthly payment is astronomical and not in my financial budget. This long process has stressed me out, caused emotional harm, and the inability to pay the huge monthly payment. ~signed a very frustrated customer !
