We stayed here for the F1 race at COTA this past October. An easy Uber ride from the airport and downtown. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was reasonably priced during race week compared to the hotels downtown. We will certainly stay here for another visit to COTA read more

This hotel is 5 star!! EXCEPT the walls are very thin! We will definitely still stay here; but just know you will be able to hear and smell everything your above and side neighbors are doing and cooking/eating. It's an unfortunate oversight in the design of the building; because everything else about this hotel is 5 stars! Wow. What a nightmare this has been. We arrived a night early at the residence inn sw Austin and they could not accommodate us for the early arrival and sent us to ac Marriott up the hill. We were surprisingly given a room for the hearing impaired right by an ice machine. Grateful for the bed to sleep I did not complain about the constant noise of ice dumping throughout the night but I brought it up at check out. I then drove to check in early at the residence inn sw Austin for my three night stay.They let me know the room is not ready yet but asked if I had a preference. I asked for a room far from the ice machine and away from the hwy. They asked me to come back in an hour. No problem. When I finally got to the room it saw that it is located on the second floor directly above the pool equipment. I went downstairs exhausted, and asked what time the equip turns on, the receptionist had zero clue. I asked if I could have another room just in case it turned on in an unholy hour, she replied that the ONLY other room available is by the ice machine. I have just completed traveling through 5 states and stayed in at least 15 different hotels. I have only experienced the nicer I am to the staff the more accommodating they are, Except here in Austin. I do not have it in me to be rude to them as they are with me ( with their side eyes and attitude). I am truly exhausted from last nights minimal sleep. read more

My husband and I stayed at this Marriott while our home was being repaired. I have to say that staying at a hotel that has outstanding employees really makes all the difference. Every day Kaitlyn, Jackie and Lanesha along with other front desk employees were more than happy to assist us with our every need. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well stocked and everything is kept clean. Ronald in their maintenance department was always busy cleaning and mopping. All of the employees that we met are definitely an asset to this Hotel . If you're in the area, this Marriott will suit your every need with plenty of shopping and Resturants nearby. read more

I had never been to Austin and always wanted to check it out as I heard it is very diverse & "weird" (didn't find it to be BTW). Booked this trip in March for Labor Day weekend so I didn't know the area/location. Turns out we were pretty much in a rural area right off the freeway, not too far from places but not too close either. Staff that greeted us (2 gents) were super friendly and helpful. As a matter of fact, all the staff was. Place is 4 years old from what I am told, very quiet and comfortable. Gym was very clean and all equipment worked. Didn't get into the pool but it was very modern overlooking a country setting with lots of greenery. Laundry facilities available and everything worked except one washer but signage was posted. I ran out to Dollar Tree to get some detergent and softener to do laundry before leaving and I wished I would've checked the laundry room 1st as they provide both detergent and fabric softener sheets. Very thoughtful and considerate! Breakfast was very good with lots of choices and filled aplenty! M-W is "social hour" which lasts for about 3 hours or so. Stopped in for wine and chatted with one of the employees whom was very personable. They also have food available as well. If there were any cons, it would be the location in the proximity to the city as there is nothing within walking distance and also the breakfast hours as I feel they should extend it at least by an hour on the weekends for late sleepers. read more

This is a fairly new, clean, Residence Inn. The "suites" are compact but efficient. Reasonably comfortable king bed. Big TV with some streaming options, and easy to disconnect the HDMI input to use Google Chromecast if you'd like. Lots of plugs around the room. Nice walk in shower. Otherwise a small but functional bathroom. Seating area for TV watching is ok, L-shaped, no arm rests but the pillows can be used for that, and a small table for your drink or whatever. The desk area is quite functional. TV right beside you, lots of plugs and lighting, and a decent amount of room to spread out. Full kitchen, with full sized fridge, small 2 electric burner range, and a few pieces of silverware, glasses/mugs, pots/pans for basic heating meals. One of the windows had a serious crack, and the desk chair looked like a dog had taken a bite out of one of the arms. Neither a big deal, just a sign if you're reading this a few years out, to expect some overall wear. Breakfast was decent, not a big selection, but eggs and sausage/bacon every morning get you on your way. Not a great area, nothing nearby in shops or restaurants, but there are options just a short drive away. What would keep me from ever considering staying here again, and the fundamental reason for the low rating, was the overdone water softening. Unaware, I lathered up with soap the first evening, and the water was so soft that soap does not rinse off. Every shower for the next few days was just water and scrubbing with the hopes of getting more of the soap off. So I spent the trip feeling a bit gross, and was thrilled to get home to a real shower. read more

We stayed here during the recent nasty winter storm. Staff was pleasant and did all they could to keep guests comfortable despite losing running water. Many of us guests were just thrilled to be in a warm cozy place. They still managed to provide daily breakfast and bottled water to guests. The rooms are cozy and tidy. Location is just a few minutes from downtown Austin. A huge thanks to the staff for helping us (guests) get by the first few days after the storm - I do recommend! read more

Quick over night to Austin and stayed at the Residence Inn. Nice accommodations and felt very comfortable with the level of cleanliness and protocol with keeping things safe. Rooms were spacious and kitchen area had everything you needed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A number of stores near for a quick shopping excursion is needed. I will definitely stay there when I return back to Austin. read more

The only reason I took one star away is because, although the staff was very nice when I approached them, I just didn't get the warm welcoming feeling that I usually get in Marriott. Our room was extremely clean (with the exception of the area between the counter in the fridge) Very clean hotel. Water pressure in the shower was great but when I took a bath, I did not like the feel on the bottom. It's felt bumpy and slimy so I ended up putting a hand towel under me. read more

Great hotel! It's newer, which is a plus. Not much close by - you have to drive for food and such, but the hotel itself is great. The bed had a foam mattress cover on it for added comfort which was great. They provide a free breakfast and the typical Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday happy hours that residence inn does. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Next time I work in south Austin this will be my go to place. read more

Was promised housekeeping every other day and that never happened. I had a call for a towels and the hotel is very noisy on the pool side where air condition units are located below the rooms on the pool deck. Not what I expect when staying at a Marriott hotel. read more

OK WOW! This place did a great deal of making sure we're happy the whole time through this pandemic. First off we had about 7-10 people in are group and they made sure we towels and clean spaces. One of the best value hotels I've ever stayed in. Everything was clean and up-to-date. The breakfast is fresh with several options. They even offered cold brew coffee in the morning. The room itself is nice and spacious with everything you need. The microwave was broken but that was not a big deal. It was too cold to use the pool and outdoor area but they looked very nice. I stayed here in 2021 my room was broken into and I was robbed for my own personal safe including my credit cards and my drivers license as well as jewelry and cash. The hotel did absolutely nothing but send an email 3 weeks later which told me what time the room was accessed by the person who stole from me. I had a lot of money on my credit card as well as cash. I was staying there while the insurance company was fixing my house after the pipes burst when it froze. The hotel did a great job at covering the tracks of whoever accessed my room. Perhaps it was an inside job. A hotel that provides shelter for a high price has security cameras facing the doors and parking lot for security. The security is not in the customer's best interest. If you have nothing to lose and don't mind getting robbed enjoy your stay at the south west Marriot. The breakfast is alright but it's not worth losing $15,]]0 Thanks Marriot. You owe me. read more

Upon arriving in my room I examined the room and found it hadn't been appropriately cleaned. The pill would have easily been cleaned with a vacuum and the playing cards would have been noticed with cleaning the nightstand and moving the curtains. I checked in on Friday and today is Tuesday, the cards are still there and I picked up the pill. Although the hotel is cute, based on these two things, I might find a different place to stay next time I'm down here. read more

Terrible experience. Rooms were nice and well-appointed, service was friendly and professional, but I had two major negative experiences. Firstly, I realized our toilet didn't have enough pressure to properly flush shortly after we checked in. I attempted two times to ask someone to fix it- I chatted through the mobile app, and I also asked a front desk agent to send someone to our room. Nobody at any point attempted to fix the issue, and my guest and I then had to use the public area restrooms for the duration of our stay. There was also a shelf/drawer in my room (room 318) that fell off when I attempted to open it (I was looking for a plunger to fix the toilet myself). Secondly, and most egregiously, I woke up in the morning to find that the sheets were stained with what appeared to be blood. The blood was not there when I went to sleep. This property exposed both my guest and myself to bedbugs that I am now spending a fair amount of money to ensure did not travel home with me. The employees I interacted with were all professional and courteous, but under no circumstances would I ever stay at this location again. I believe that all hotel guests are entitled to working, in-room bathrooms and a night's sleep devoid of bedbugs. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights while we were in Austin for a friend's wedding and even though our stay was pleasant and we had no issues with our room, I did have one complaint that's worth mentioning. Their fire alarm was set off and it was blaring at 6AM, waking us up very abruptly, and it rang real loud and clear for at least 15 minutes. We initially thought that someone might've pulled the alarm on accident, so we were trying to decide if we should evacuate, but it kept going and going and we realized that it might actually be a fire... So we woke up, threw on our jackets, and began walking towards the elevator to exit the building. There were other guests walking out as well so I was a bit worried and scared that there might actually be a fire, but a staff member came and told us that someone had burned a piece of bread on the toaster, hence setting off the alarm. We were glad that it was nothing serious, but I don't think this is acceptable... A burnt piece of toast should not have set off the fire alarm for the entire building, causing panic in the wee hours of the morning and waking up every single guest that's trying to get some sleep. Besides the fire alarm being set off, we enjoyed our stay here. This location is brand new, very conveniently located right next to the freeway, and offers a delicious complimentary hot breakfast in the morning. Their parking lot is also large with ample parking, right in front of the main entrance. read more

The staff, accommodations and breakfast are wonderful. This is a great place to get work done or just relax by the gorgeous pool and wonderful lobby. The lobby has several alcove areas to meet and gather, each with it's own TV and table. They do a fun happy hour a few times a week with friendly staff. The rooms have everything you need for a perfect extended stay. I would have given five stars, but housekeeping doesn't change out the sheets very often, and usually forget to restock the coffee. They just straighten up but don't really scrub sinks and showers on a daily basis. Perhaps that's a thing of the past, but I still expect it in a finer hotel. Still the best place in this area of town, and I will absolutely stay there again. read more

Beautiful place! Our room was very clean! The beds and pillows are confortable. They have a good selection for breakfast. Kitchen is very clean which is a plus if you wanna cook. They have pots and pans. it's pretty equipped. The pool is open till 10pm which is a bummer but other than that I would stay here again. read more

This hotel is new and beautiful. The location is great. I like Residence Inn as a chain or the perks they offer. But the service here was less than great. I discovered a cockroach in my room, and when I reported it, they were very, very apologetic and promised it would be dealt with. But the next day, my room hadn't even been cleaned as I requested. I assume they treated the outside of the hotel in response, but felt like addressing my room wasn't that big of a concern until I asked a second time. The workout room was always way too hot, had no cups for water, and was out of towels one day. The coffee at breakfast one morning was weaker than tea. I hope they'll step up their game because I want to like this hotel. read more

I stayed at this hotel and someone entered my room without consent. My identity, credit cards, medications, cash jewelry, everything of value was stolen. I kept a do not disturb sign on the door. When I tried to talk to staff nobody helped me. They don't offer an in-room safe so I kept my own safe and even that was stolen. The losses to personal property exceeded the sum of thousands. I was staying there while my home was being worked on due to damages from the winter storm. This specific Marriot did not even provide any footage so that I could identify the thief. It could have been the staff. I thought the Marriott ensured security solutions. Tell me why there are cameras placed in entrances and exits so you can get a clear picture of each visitor, correct? I sent several emails to the manager and requested a preservation of evidence letter. I would think that the Marriott would consider disclosing footage in response to illegal activity that occurs on their premises especial when their customers are victims. I would not recommend this place. I believe they are thieves. read more

This was a fantastic stay. Just needed a nice relaxing Thursday prior to staying downtown for the weekend for the UT game. Boy am I glad we did. We wondered down the road and discovered a lovely little neighborhood bar named Boomerz! They were hosting a Thursday night karaoke night. Really fun place just steps away where it seems that good friends go to meet! Other than the convenient location, the hotel itself was extremely well run! The attention to detail was fabulous! Delicious hot breakfast! An infinity pool! C'mon! I did some yoga and channeled my drishti out by the pool. Very zen like quality to the space. We came in for a quick shower after a late check out (I was having such a good time I asked the staff if we could extend a little longer and they were so accommodating), and BOOM! Craft beer on tap for what they called "Free Beer Friday." They just treated us like we were old friends invited in for a drink! Can't explain how much their hospitality meant to me. Wow! We came to Austin just to check out the city to see if it was a place my daughter might want to live after graduating from college. It happened to be the SXSW festival and it was too expensive to stay downtown. That is what lead us to this Residence Inn. We very much enjoyed our stay. Rooms were spacious with a kitchen, living room area with pull out couch and large bathroom. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was one of the cleanest I've ever seen at a hotel. Great food selection also!! Downtown Austin was only about 15 min away and was easy to get to. We would for sure stay here again if we return!! read more
