I called Rocklin Heating & Air who immediately responded to schedule an appointment. Mark deployed to my home and went straight to work, quickly absorbing the situation and what I had learned thus far. Mark was followed by some of his teammates, when it was determined this would require troubleshooting from multiple points in the home simultaneously. I was fearing the worst, running through expensive possibilities in my mind. Throughout the entire troubleshooting process, the team was highly communicative and never tried to upsell me on anything that was not short of necessary. As the team diligently narrowed it down to unusual behavior from a culprit wire and elegantly solved the problem, I was certain I picked the right HVAC company. I believe they found a problem other techs may have missed, had I picked the wrong vendor. I thank Brandon and his professional team and highly recommend them.

When I phoned them they mentioned they don't come down as far as the East Bay, but told me they would find out who did service the Bay Area from the manufacturers rep who was on leave at the time. True to their word they phoned me a week later with the information. I'm impressed that they took the time to phone me (thankyou Wade for your call) and made the effort to find the information I needed, when they had nothing to gain. This is service at its best, and I'll make sure I'll always recommend them to friends who live in their area.

When I first called the quote was $89 diagnostic and they told me if a repair was needed the $89 would go to my repair if a repair was needed. After telling them what type of heater/AC unit I had, they said my heater unit was complex, and that the diagnostic would be $250 and if any repair were needed the $250 would not contribute to the cost of the repair. $250 is quite expensive to have a guy come out and diagnose a problem. Especially in the beginning of the phone call I was quoted with $89 and it went all the way up to $250. I asked them what if it was a simple problem, would they still charge me $250? The guy on the phone told me if it is simple why are you calling us? Very rude. Instead of giving this greedy company my money, I took the time and actually was able to fix the error code on my heater on my own, so in fact if Kendrick, it would have been a huge waste of money. There are a lot of repair companies out there, Kendrick customer service is quite rude, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

They…read moredelivered poor quality, un-permitted work, taking much longer than planned and there's no accountability to properly finish this install. We'll need to spend more time and money to get another contractor to properly complete this job and permitted. I do not recommend this company. I'm confused by the 5 star reviews and I hate to write a bad one, but I hope it can save others from wasting their time and money like us. The communication started off strong, but poor execution when it comes to the actual work. I went with them because they claimed taking pride in making their installs look good with high quality work, enhancing the value of the home. The pictures show this is far from that promise and they don't care to resolve this. Quoted a 1-2 day install dragged on for 1.5 months before the system was even functional. The install started during a snowstorm which I understand brought challenges. I checked if they wanted to reschedule due to the storm, but they insisted they work in the snow all the time. They ran into multiple issues, and had to order replacement parts several times. It was very poorly managed throughout, I would hardly get updates and had to reach out each week to check on the status. Technicians would work on something and no communication if they were done or if the system was ready to use. They eventually got a replacement unit and the system was finally functioning over a month later. I don't mind the delays as long as the final work is properly done, but that's not the case here. They basically called the install done since it's functioning but the rest of the install is already falling apart and poor workmanship. Every part of the install you can see is of very poor quality. Line set covers falling apart, mis-aligned covers, roughly cut edges, paint over-sprayed onto the siding, lines messily laid out under the house already falling down, exterior unit is haphazardly shimmed with rubber blocks, lines covered with a rubber sheet zip tied as a cover, interior unit has the line coming out the side with a tacky wood cover vs hidden out the back, a plastic piece near the line exit is broken and sticking out. This is amateur DIY quality, nothing close to professional. These are only the places I can see which doesn't give me confidence in the mechanical work I can't see. I'm especially worried about the line through the roof. They punched through existing flashing for the skylight and did it in a spot where there's no room to properly flash around the hole to make sure it's water tight. I will need to get a professional roofing contractor to inspect and fix this work. I thought I was overly critical since they have positive reviews, so I reached out to a local contractor for a second opinion. He was even more critical and said it's one of the worst installs he's ever seen. I sent Folsom Lake photos of the issues nearly 2 months ago and there hasn't been much effort to resolve them. It is supposedly in the process of permitting, but again it's been radio silence for 7 weeks. I reached out directly to the permitting company multiple times and they have stopped providing updates. Other notes: The carpet was muddy despite asking several times to remove boots. After the last visit, there was even a boot print on our dining table. They drilled holes in the wrong location on the wall and did a poor job "patching" them up. I could go on but have spent too much time managing this job and I'm really disappointed in the quality and lack of accountability from Folsom Lake Heating. I'm sure they'll respond with excuses, but I have been patient and given them plenty of opportunities to make things right with no results. Unfortunately I will have to take a different route, and it looks like I'll have to spend more time finding a proper contractor to clean up this botched install. Save your hard-earned money, time and headache and hire a professional contractor with more experience and pride than this company.

The tech, Brad, arrived and began inspecting the unit on the roof. I was right over his shoulder watching him. He noticed that the furnace control computer board looked slightly discolored. He grabbed a black piece on this computer board with his pliers and attempted to pull it off, breaking this piece and permanently damaging the board itself. He wasn't called there to look at the heater, but it seemed like he was looking for any potential thing he could find. He eventually made it around to checking out the air conditioning system. He found that one of the capacitors had failed. He had a replacement capacitor in his van that he was able to wire in to get the air conditioner going again. He was in and out in well under 30 minutes. When it came time to pay the bill, I was offered a discount on the capacitor if I agreed to sign up for their maintenance/inspection program. It came out to $455, and this was cheaper than if I had not signed up for their inspection/maintenance program. I like to be a DIY person, so I couldn't help but look up what capacitors actually cost. There are many comparable capacitors to the one I was sold that cost under $50. I don't feel like I got very good value for what I received, not including the broken computer board. Upon receiving this invoice, I also received an estimate for nearly $900 to replace the newly broken computer board. I was able to purchase this same board on Amazon for under $300, and installed it myself in about 15 minutes. Since this visit, I have received several calls from this company from what seems to be a remote telemarketing service trying to schedule my routine plumbing and HVAC inspection. Given the first experience I had with the tech breaking my furnace control board, I am not interested in having this company inspect anything on my house. The way this situation played out makes me wonder whether the techs receive a percentage of the repairs they do, thus incentivizing them to find things to fix even if there's nothing broken yet.

During a hot summer in 2024, I went over a month without A/C while Lee's fixed it temporarily, only to have to break again. And again. Eventually, they pulled the new heat pump out and installed a NEW new heat pump. Again, the actual people coming to my house were great. The communication between the office, the techs, and the customer was shaky, however. It took repeated calls to get someone to come out to do repairs once they'd gotten paid for the system and were now just covering the warranty. It is now April 2026. In March, I came home to find water dripping from my ceiling vents and the heat pump malfunctioning. When I called Lee's, the rep on the phone tried to tell me "that is normal when the A/C is turned back on." Nope. I have been waiting over a month for the right part Lee's says is needed to fix it. Today, I canceled a class I teach to be here for the long-awaited installation (after a month without heat or A/C). An hour after the tech was scheduled to arrive, after texting he would be here in 30 minutes, I got a text rescheduling the service call for tomorrow. I am forced to deal with this company because of the warranty. The moment it is up I'll never use them again, and I will warn everyone I know not to call Lee's. I'm not sure if they're just too big, or bad at communicating, or what, but my patience has run out.
