In trying to find a solution to an ongoing, big problem, I spoke with many foundation/drainage contractors. I also spoke with a home inspector, who recommended that I contact Steve Bodine. Steve promptly came out to look at my job, and had brilliant and knowledgeable suggestions that other contractors had never even mentioned. My building is 50 years old and needed new drains and a place to direct the water run-off during heavy rains. Steve pulled drawings from the City of Seattle to show where, with the proper permits, my drains could be connected to the City's storm drain. I checked out Steve and Bodine Construction Services' reviews out, and saw the excellent reviews they consistently receive. I hired Steve and his team to do my job. They installed new French drains and water-proofing for our 50 year old home. Steve told me exactly what it would cost, and when he could start my job. Throughout the duration of the job, Bodine Construction Services provided detailed, explanatory job progress photos. Steve and every member of his wonderful crew did all their amazing work professionally, with a smile, and always with great communication. When the job was finished, Steve and his crew left my job site and yard immaculate. During the heavy rains this last winter, not one drop of water came into my home. Highly recommend Bodine Construction Previous Visit 2019: Bodine Construction came out and helped resolve a sewer/drainage issue that another sewer/drainage company had caused, and essentially went to bat for us to get us some of our money back from the previous company. On top of that their prices were fair and their work was great. We had a couple other companies out to look at the issue, but it felt like they just wanted to sell something. With Bodine, it felt like they were there to help and solve the problem, not just make a sale. And they did! Great help, great work, great people. The project was to replace a doorbell from a late 60s/early 70s intercom system with a wired Google Nest doorbell and to replace our old floodlight with a Nest floodlight. I spoke with two electricians who were either mystified by the situation or gave me bad abduct. Will came up with a plan to use the power supply from the intercom system for the transformer. He also installed a chime box and custom built a wood plate for the camera (the electricians told me that I would have to do that on my own and would just install the camera hanging by its wires). Moreover, the fee he charged was a fraction of what several other companies wanted. Will was punctual, professional, and he replied promptly to my messages.

I used Double K/7 Hills Plumbing to install a ductless HVAC system at my primary residence. For several winters my Great Room split/head seemed to run constantly during the winter and failed to properly heat the room. Upon some routine cleaning I took a look and found out 7 Hills had installed a 12" head for the room instead of the 15" head that was invoiced (and paid for). Supposed to be: CTXS15LVJU (Daiken) Was installed: FTXX12LVJU (Daiken) Upon discovering this issue I reached out to Double K/7 Hills Plumbing, including the owner (Derek) who was the one who designed, invoiced, and accepted payment on the system. Three weeks of voicemails and e-mails yielded not only no resolution, but no response (queue song "No Reply At All" by Genesis). Level of service/support has been so atrocious a BBB claim has been filed: ID 14265371. This is a step, despite using dozens of contractors/suppliers for my primary residence and rentals, I have never once had to previously take given that I'm pretty understanding/flexible in coming to arrangements on these kinds of situations. Bottom line, use this business at your own risk. Problems/accidents happen. I hired them with full confidence in their work. In every interaction I found this company to be very courteous and professional! The worst customer service. The technician arrived a full 2 hours and 19 minutes after saying they…read morewere on their way to my address. They arrived with 3 minutes left in the scheduled 2 hour repair window. And the worst part is that they truly do not care how their incompetence impacts and inconveniences their customers and their customers' neighbors. I have read some of the negative comments about this company, and am amazed at how the same, obviously thin-skinned, guy who chastises his own customers for not picking up the phone, reaching out and trying to resolve situations chose not to even try to call, reach out or try to resolve this situation. Hypocrisy much? Anyway, Danika plumbing had been recommended by an HOA member and I had previously used the company for a plumbing issue in 2019, with which I had been satisfied, so I decided to reach out to them for a current plumbing issue in my condo in Capitol Hill, Seattle. Travis, who was punctual and professional, was the first technician to be dispatched. He diagnosed the issue, but since I live in a condo building, notice of a water shut-off would need to be sent to all residents prior to the repair. He had mentioned the difficulty of finding parking in the area, so the company was well aware of the average drive time and time to find parking. The next day, Thursday, I called to schedule the repair for Thursday of the following week, which gave them plenty of time to schedule their resources and for me to coordinate with the HOA to send a notice of water shut off to the other residents in the building. I was advised that the repair appointment would be from 10.00am to 12.00pm, at which time I advised that there was no full-time building maintenance/manager and that the technician would need to shut the water off and drain the building (a process that would take approximately 20 minutes.) At 9.38am on the day of the appointment I received a text that the technician was on the way to my address for the 10am appointment. At 10.30am, when nobody had arrived or called with an update, I decided to call to ask why nobody had arrived yet. They seemed surprised or unaware but said they would reach out to the technician. At 10.42am I received a call from the technician, saying that he had to stop at Home Depot for a tool, that the traffic was bad and that he was still about 40 to 50 minutes out. The average drive time from Everett to Seattle is 40 to 50 minutes!!! One hour after being 'dispatched' he clearly had not even left, or had only just left, Everett. He said that he would be there at 11.30am, but assured me he could get the water drained and the repair completed in time to get the water back on by 12.00pm. He said it would save time if I would be willing to turn the water off and drain the building. Since I am neither qualified nor insured to do so, I declined. At 11.57am, with 3 minutes left in the 2 hour repair window, 3 minutes to when the water needed to be back on for the other residents and a full 2 hours and 19 minutes after Danika said he was dispatched, I received a call to let me know he had arrived at the property. He apologized and made numerous excuses about traffic, difficulty finding parking and having to get a tool at home depot (all of which, any company with a modicum of understanding of good customer service, let alone common sense, would have built into their scheduling beforehand) but had difficulty explaining why, even considering those factors, how it could have taken 2 hours and 19 minutes from time of dispatch to arrive at his job site. He told me to reach out to the office to reschedule, seemingly unbothered that I had taken time off from work for this appointment and that my neighbors had gone without using water for 2 hours for no reason at all, or that we would have to do it all over again for a second time. I advised him that the text saying that he was dispatched at 9.38am and on his way to my address was clearly untrue and dishonest, that it was an awful way to treat customers, and that I was not sure that I was either comfortable or confident in rescheduling with a company that had such low regard for its customers. Nonetheless, he said he would talk to his manager and have them reach out. Nobody from Danika ever reached out for the rest of the day. This morning at 11.15am, with no attempt being made to salvage the situation, or at the very least an apology, I called and requested that they reimburse the payment I had made for the repair that was never done. At that time I was told that accounting, the previous evening, had noted that they had issued a refund check. It is unbelievable that this company, obviously aware of the issues and inconvenience it had caused myself and my neighbors, made a conscious decision that they did not even need to reach out and apologize. Do better!!! Honesty is a good place to start!!! 2 hours 19 minutes to get from Everett to Seattle. On a bicycle maybe!
