There is just so much to do from talking a stroll to the beach to bar hopping at the local bars. Another plus was the Starbucks just literally down the street! Second time around I rented the Royal Beach House, which was in September 2014 for my boyfriend's birthday again. It was an amazing 3-story house with tons of space. This time around it was a bit further from main street, but we were willing to sacrifice that for a larger place. We were blown away yet again the second time around. Cast members were friendly, but the concierge goes above and beyond. I really appreciated them helping us with a scooter rental on the spot for my mom, who has a torn meniscus. During our stay, we stayed on the club level and took full advantage of The Veranda Lounge. The lounge offered food at 4 times through the day: continental breakfast, afternoon tea, "happy hour," and desserts. The snacks and unlimited beverages were worth it, and you could take them with you to the pool and to the parks. One one of the days, we spent some time at the pool around 4pm. The place seemed pack, but we quickly learned that many chairs didn't have returning occupants despite seeming to be reserved. We were able to snag 4 chairs with umbrellas. Not all chairs had umbrellas, which was unfortunate. My only complaint was that service felt very slow. Lastly, the rooms were great. Our room had 4 adults, and the space didn't feel cramped at all. The bed and pillows were comfortable to me, and I felt like I had restful nights of sleep.

BLACK MOLD - Serious Health and Safety Hazard Do not stay…read morehere. Our room had black mold all over the shower and you can tell by the photos, management is aware the black mold exists and has tried to cover it up with paint. Creating a serious health and safety concern. When we reported the issue to business manager Robert Farzam, he responded with a shocking lack of professionalism and concern. Rather than addressing the problem, he claimed that black mold is "common" and suggested that we should not expect better because this is not a five-star hotel along with stating that because the property is not part of a hotel chain, that he can not AFFORD to refund us for our one night stay. Most concerning, my six month old baby was exposed to these conditions. Despite being informed of the health risks, and provided evidence of the black mold, management showed no urgency, accountability, or concern for guest safety whatsoever. Robert made it evidently clear he does not care about the conditions of this hotel, rather only the money he receives from guest stays. This property disregarded basic health and safety regulations. The response from Robert Farzam demonstrated a troubling level of negligence toward the wellbeing of any hotel guests. I was genuinely shocked by the lack of professionalism and customer service displayed throughout this entire situation. Do not stay here!

Quite frankly, the response I received was lazy, pointless, and missed the mark by a mile. I don't actually know if this response is from someone associated with the hotel directly or with Marriott's customer service, either way, it's a sad excuse of customer service. I stayed for two nights and immediately upon check in, the front desk attendant (a slightly taller, slim brunette with glasses) was cold, rude, and rushing me out without explaining all the details of the amenities, hotel options, credits, and so on. I took off to a local event and received a text around noon stating that my room was ready which was a better sign than the response I received earlier. Returning to the front desk, the next attendant was all alone serving one party, with 2 more behind them, myself, and 3 more after me. The hotel really needs to up the staffing, especially at the front desk. First impressions of the hotel are mixed. The exterior and even interior spaces are beautiful but the "lobby" is actually up two sets of escalators and the bottom/ground floor is pretty cold and lifeless. There is also a big leak in the valet/drop off area and of course, when I requested my car, valet attendant parks it right underneath the leak. Parking is also $68/day and no self-park option. That's just absurd. My room had a "theme park view" but that view is pretty much the backside of Cars and the building for Guardians of the Galaxy. Not much of a "view". Getting up to the rooftop bar is pretty annoying, since there is no direct elevator from the interior you are forced to walk through the garden with poor signage until you figure out which door to go through. The rooftop bar is also directly in sunlight so unless you go after sundown, expect to get a tan or even burned. The food is nothing special and pretty overpriced even for hotel standards. What also annoyed me is the Wi-Fi doesn't reach the rooftop bar. I tried both guest and public Wi-Fi, neither connected. The room itself is nice, fancy accents, and I was treated to macarons upon returning. But cleanliness and upkeep is an issue. Hairs left on the soap bottles, stains on the walls/ceilings, AC kept turning on even after I turned it off, dusty surfaces, and so on. The hair dryer was also filled with dirt/dust I ordered room service both nights and overall I enjoyed the food. The pizza was great, the gelato was creamy and tasty, the burger was really good although overcooked patty, the turkey sandwich was tasty, the regular fries were super crispy but the sweet potato fries were super soggy and cold. Not very consistent with the food. And the issues with the dining continued with breakfast. The only two staff members that were a delight were Christian and an Asian girl I forgot to get her name, They were so friendly, attentive, and kind. The rest of the staff? Horrible. The blonde hostess was the rudest and coldest of the bunch, and each morning I saw 3-5 workers just standing around chit chatting. Another shorter girl with brownish hair and highlights was also rude. I observed these issues not just with myself but towards different guests as well. Half the foods in the buffet were not labeled or mislabeled, foods that should be crispy like bacon or hash browns were kept in a covered dish which created a circulation of steam and turned everything soggy; there was a big tub of whipped cream I thought was cream cheese since it didn't make sense to have whipped cream out like that but since it was not labeled I had no clue. The floors and couch cushions were dirty with crumbs and food as well. I submitted these issues through the customer response email I received after my stay and the response meant nothing, reading: "Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay at the JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort. We are delighted to hear that you found the hotel beautiful and appreciated the friendliness of our room service team. We regret to learn that certain aspects of your experience fell below expectations. Please know that your feedback is important to us, and we are committed to using it to better understand and address areas where we can improve. Thank you again for your valuable insights and for being a Marriott Bonvoy Member. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future." As if I would stay here again when an apology wasn't even issued. As someone who has been a timeshare holder and Marriott loyalist for almost 20 years, this is not the Marriott experience I or anyone should expect to receive.

First the positive, the hotel itself has such a fun feel to it. The staff is really welcoming and you see little details of Pixar through every turn. The coffee shop was perfect for my mornings as I tend to get up before the rest of the family and love a nice coffee to warm me up. The convenience of walking to Downtown Disney was great! We loved spending our spare moments wondering around and I found so many more food options in this area. Food at hotel restaurant was kind of "meh" so having DD so close really helped. We also loved the monorail stop being so close but it seemed to often be closed which kind of made that perk not as accessible. Also loved how we could cut through the California Grand Hotel to get to California Adventure Park. -Now let's talk about the elevators which, in my opinion, weren't that bad at all! I had read so many reviews that I was legitimately scared! If used correctly the system works great. You simply push the button of the floor you want and wait by the elevator it tells you. Then hop on and enjoy the ride. The issue comes when people get tired of waiting so the continuously push their floor. This cause other elevators to also be programmed to that floor which can cause a lot of unwanted and pointless stops. I can see another flaw being if you have a wheelchair or stroller and are trying to go down to the lobby. If the elevator has too many people on it you will not be able to fit and would then have to wait and try your like again. -Ok, on your the small annoyances. The first one is the pool. While the side was great and the splash pad is nice for younger kids, the actual pool is just so small! Very surprising in sure a large and higher end hotel. Another thing is they don't offer poolside service. Not a big deal but would be a nice touch. Second is the rooms only have a shower so no bath tubs. For me this wasn't a big deal but I can see this being hard for families with young kids. Lastly, there is no room service at this hotel. After a long day at Disney we were enjoying a relaxing time I. The hotel and room service would have been really amazing. Again, I was surprised with a hotel that is a bit more higher end not offering any room service. -Overall I'd say this was a good place to stay. I would book again when they have a good deal going (we were able to stay for $1600 after tax and fees for 4 nights). I don't think I'd pay their normal rates as the small annoyances just don't make things worth that high price tag. Bonus Pro Tip- The small balconies over by the stairwells are a great place to catch the Disneyland fire show. So if you don't want to o go down to the pool deck just walk down your hallway and enjoy the show.

We enjoyed the hotel pool and my young daughter had fun on the water slide. Breakfast at Great Maple was delicious and by far one of the best meals at the hotel our entire trip. The parts that I didn't love and took away from a 4 or 5-star experience: 1. There is no room service. This surprised me as the other two Disney hotels both include this service. As a parent to a young child, early morning room service before park shenanigans has been so supportive and easeful. Given the prices, I'd expect more. I did expect more. This was disappointing. This alone is why I wouldn't come back. 2. The cafe in the hotel does open at 6AM for those who are early birds and get to park at opening. It was nice to be able to get hot water for tea or grab a latte. They have some pre-made food selections and snacks and of course, glutinous pastries. For families like ours who have food restrictions such as gluten, there wasn't much option. The pre-made frittatas were pretty awful. Would not recommend. And besides that, there aren't any protein forward/warm food options. Again, super disappointing. It's 2026. It's LA. Cmon. 3. They don't offer any drinking water/bottles in the room. Minor detail, I know. But I recall the other hotels do. So if you wanted drinking water, you had to go down to the fitness room to fill up or pay $3.80 for a small Dasani via the vending machine. Mind you, in order to use the in-room coffee/tea machine... you need drinking water to fill it up. Multi-billionaire dollar company. Complimentary water shouldn't break the bank. I feel salty about this one. 4. The elevators. Great concept. Friendly staff. Slow AF during busier hours. Literally allot extra time to get to the lobby. I personally won't go back. But it's the cheaper hotel of the three and now I get why. If you live on pastries and tap water, you Gucci.
