We had the loft and another party had the side room. We have no issues sharing the common space and it was fun to experience. This April, I scored a 2 night in cottage 4B on the only rainy/gloomy weekend we've had here. Of all the luck. Within 6days of reservation date, you lose 1 night stay so it was sunk cost so I went ahead and did both nights. Easy to check in and checkout. If you are down the hill, you can get a ride on the golf carts which are very nice. 2 cars overnight as well per cabin. Rooms were clean. There is no AC so be prepared depending on your weather. I wanted to leave windows open but most don't have a screen so you get bugs and I was afraid of critters coming in. Currently there are full cottages (like an Airbnb), dorms (private rooms with shared living space),and three ADA cottages. The prices range from $53 -$338 per space, per night, all year. Reservations for the cottages open up 6 months in advance at 8am, and the dorms open up 1 month in advance at 8am. The max time length is 7 days, per reservation. They are located right on the beach in Crystal cove, with full kitchens, bedding, towels, and toilet paper. The views are GORGEOUS!!! Lots of windows, and there is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing. We stayed in 29B which is the loft inside building 29 (4 twin beds and private bath downstairs) so cute, so comfortable, and just a lovely stay! The Beachcomber restaurant is located right on the beach as well, serving breakfast lunch and dinner. SUPER packed in summer, not such much in winter. There is a snack bar area, a couple historical building, and a souvenir shop adjacent to the restaurant. The Shake Shack is up at the top of the cliff, up a huge flight of stairs, on PCH. There is also a private meeting room located next to the reg office if you wanted to host a meeting overlooking the ocean. PLEASE NOTE FOR PARKING: the reg office is located past the ranger station, and you have to drive up there to get your keys and unload your car. Then you are given a parking permit, and have to drive your car across the street (PCH) and walk back to the cottage area, about a 10 min walk with minor hills. For the ADA cottages, you can park very close to the cottage. PRO-TIP: bring your own coffee cups, plates, silverware. Very limited in the cabin

Each experience was unique and provided a ton of family memories. This rental property provides a first-class view of the ocean and is two steps from the boardwalk and beach. Our family and friends have never experienced a more convenient location- in terms of closeness to the beach and within a short walk to the grocery store, bar and grills, local shopping and surf school. We will probably vacation here forever because of the prime location and the owner and her assistant. They are always pleasant and willing to go the extra mile to assure the comfort of our family. Recently, each unit was updated with fresh paint, new tile, and new furniture. There is also a grill provided for summer family BBQs. NEW OWNER ALERT! Cockroaches, raw sewage, broken toilets, syringes. Booked 2 bdrm 2 bath beachfront…read more8/24-8/31 for a family reunion at a neighboring hotel. Have been a customer for 17 years as have many family members and friends. Checked in, paid my balance by check and they cashed within an hour. Arrived in room to 2 dead cockroaches and a toilet which wouldn't flush. A live roach runs into bathroom and under sink. Told mgr Lily she called maintenance man who should arrive in hour or two. In the mean time, chased 2-3 other cockroaches killed one. Wife flushed other toilet to see if it worked and it overflowed on to floor and shower backed up spewing sewage. The smell was unbearable. Put down towels called manager she said she'd call plumber now. Went to get a glass in the cupboard and found a glass full of syringes. Obviously this place has not been cleaned. BROKEN TOILETS, LIVE AND DEAD COCKROACHES, RAW SEWAGE,SYRINGES were the issues within the first two hours of our family vacation. Plumber arrived and fixed plumbing. Still nobody cleaned bathroom floor or shower. And it reeked of sewage. We asked if anyone was going to clean up the roaches and the manager finally did. Manager tried to get us to stay with discounts and other rooms but they had nothing comparable and we were disgusted and really couldn't see ourselves staying anywhere in this place. We chased a roach and moved a chest of drawers and found RODENT AND COCKROACH FECES (see photo)Final straw was my son finding roaches climbing up from the drain in the shower into the pan. That's it. We never unpacked so we put everything in the truck and drove 2 hours home. Vacation week ruined. Family reunion ruined. I called the next morning and spoke to Lily and said I was driving down to pick up my refund. She confirmed that I would be getting 100% refund and that the owner was there and valued us as a customer and wanted a second chance. All I wanted was my money back I said. Drove 2 1/2 hours to be greeted by a check for half my total. So they kept $2400. Unbelievable. I will never give uLIARS on top of it Enjoy the photos. I have more and video to be posted. UPDATE. Owner called 9/12 and said he would be sending the balance of the refund. STILL NOTHING. After a month, I received a full refund. Not pleased with what I had to do, and was prepared to do in order to effectuate the full refund. They could have tried to make it right but failed. Sorry to say we won't be customers again.

Second time around I rented the Royal Beach House, which was in September 2014 for my boyfriend's birthday again. It was an amazing 3-story house with tons of space. This time around it was a bit further from main street, but we were willing to sacrifice that for a larger place. We were blown away yet again the second time around.
