Perfect little spot to stop and stay while in town for a conference. Front desk was helpful and went out of their way to assist me upon arrival, and again with a quickly resolved technical issue. Absolutely will stay again at this hidden gem. Thank you!

Great mom and pop hotel for a quick stay!! My bf and I needed a quick place to stay while my parents were in an Airbnb nearby, we book this place last minute and it was affordable, clean, and comfortable! King sized bed with a tv. You can tell that the bedding is new! I forgot to take pictures of the room but the other ones represent. Nice bathroom and pretty spacious.

Had a nice experience at the Crescent Bay Inn! Was greeted and helped out with checking in early. So close to the beach! The place has character and it feels homey :)

The bottom on all of the furniture was like this. Not a good choice for a beachside interior.

Icky and uncomfortable. I stayed here years ago when it was very old but it was still clean and in good repair. The place has an unsettling odor as if the only cleaning product being used is ammonia. This does not remove the soap scum from the shower floor or clean the shower curtain which has probably never been changed out since they installed it. The towels are child- sized and not exactly new. There was no hair conditioner, no hangers and there was no housekeeping. One of the things about any beach property is that it's necessary to replace anything that gets oxidized from the salt air. Additionally there is the risk of roaches so the place should be able to be sealed well, not have a large gap at the front door. We were very dissatisfied with the PCH sidewalk location with heavy traffic. There is basically no difference between sleeping on the street or in the room in terms of noise. Horrible!

First time staying here, but won't be our last. Not a fancy hotel, no pool or jacuzzi, but rooms are comfortable, with mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and air conditioning. We paid to upgrade to ocean view rooms, and glad we did; these are in Building 3, which are furthest from street, closest to beach (Building 1 is on the street, and I imagine would be loud). We had two 2-Queen rooms: 309 - which had the nicest ocean view, and 306 - semi-blocked by a huge Torrey Pine, but ocean view through the Torrey Pine was lovely, too. No balcony, but outside the door is a walkway, which you could stand on and enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. They also have a nice sitting area downstairs, with a table, chairs a couple loungers and a fire pit, plus beach shower, and some chairs and beach towels to borrow. Easy walk to beautiful Crescent Bay Beach and park. Manager Sal was very friendly and helpful, too. Look forward to our next trip!

We love staying at Crescent Bay Inn. The clerk was incredibly helpful and friendly. He helped us find a better parking spot for our bigger vehicle. The parking is a little challenging so be careful. They room was clean, the air conditioning worked great and we loved that the offer beach towels to use. The beach shower is very helpful when you return from the short walk to the beautiful cove. We look forward to staying there again, affordable and fantastic location.

Great place to stay! We had room facing ocean view, beautiful and quiet. Short walk to beach, hotel has chairs, towels. Trolley in Laguna Beach is great, up and down main streets to get to restaurants and pageant of the masters! Trolley is close to hotel. Outdoor patio is nice as well.

We, I was there to celebrate my sister's birthday!

I was a little worried when we saw the facility, but the rooms were nice and clean! The management are very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the area! My family and I needed to understand that coastal beachfront properties have been around for many many years and that the buildings are older!

    walk to beach

This place was pretty great! I paid 140$ for four nights. It was really close to the beach, walking distance. The location was great as well. Everything was nearby about 10pm items away. I would come here again. You get what you pay for. I have no complaints.

Ocean "view" off to the left. Building in front of this one.

The Booking.com ad says beachfront. It is NOT. there are buildings between here and the beach. It may be a short walk but there's no water. I prepaid but when I got here they wanted to put me in a room next to the highway. I asked if there were any other rooms. Manager said he could put me in an ocean view room but only if I handed him $30 cash. I didn't have it and said I'd pay it later. I had not seen the room yet. From the pics you can see there is no ocean view and there buildings between here and the ocean. I don't care if the beach is a 5minute walk, it's not beachfront! False advertising. Room smells bad too. I prepaid so I cannot get refunded.

The service was excellent and can see that staff takes great care and attention to making sure everything is taken care of. We very much appreciated all the amenities this inn had to offer such as the welcome drink, evening cookies (delicious!), sauna, sunblock at the pool, towels, lovely breakfast.. all complimentary (breakfast with resort fee). We also appreciated the 10% military discount. We stayed in room 23 which was a standard queen bed with garden view and liked that spot because it felt central, private, and quiet. The room is on the smaller side but it was fine. It does not have a fridge but they provide an ice bucket. We ended up putting our bottled waters on top of the AC box and that kept it cool. Being that the inn is beautifully historic, there weren't many outlets inside the room. The bath robes were very plush. Both lamp shade knobs didn't seem to turn properly but we made it work somehow. Otherwise, we felt well taken care of throughout our stay and so glad we came. Aside from the inn, there is a walk to get to Victoria Beach. We walked south along Coast Highway to Victoria Place and found the underpass from there. We also took the free trolley outside of the hotel to get around town. It could be quite a wait for the trolley as we waited 30 mins. There is a QR code on the sign to track the trolley locations.

One of my favorite parts of the hotel that was unexpected was the free breakfast. The breakfast was seated with a server where we had many options from a delicious, light, and healthy menu. Definitely recommend Casa Laguna for a celebration, staycation, or a relaxing weekend getaway. :)

My room appeared to be next to what sounded like a utility or service room, and there was loud equipment noise running throughout the entire night. Sleeping was nearly impossible. I reached out to the hotel by both text and email after my stay and was told the matter would be looked into. It has now been over a week with no follow-up or resolution whatsoever. For the rates Surf & Sand charges, guests should not be placed in rooms with constant overnight noise issues, and concerns should certainly not be ignored afterward. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing in several areas. The room was not very clean when we arrived. We found leftover drinks and cups that had been squeezed and stuffed inside the safe, and the air vents were noticeably dirty, which caused us to sneeze throughout our stay. Pool service was also difficult to find, and it seemed like the hotel could really benefit from having more staff. The housekeeper is excellent. My room was extremely clean for the duration of my stay. The gentleman who checked me out at the end of my stay was very pleasant. However, I am only giving three stars because first impressions are lasting and the woman who was working the Office check-in desk when I arrived made me feel like an annoyance who was interrupting her work. She was efficient but less than welcoming during the check-in process. Unfortunately, I had to interact with this woman two more times during my stay and each interaction was equally unpleasant. My goal in staying at The Tides was to destress but she made me feel like "Bad Dog". Soon after checking in, I had to return to the Office to ask for assistance with accessing the WiFi and a day later, I had to ask for assistance with accessing the pool. I assumed that I needed to use my hotel key to open the gate to the pool. The Office woman made me feel like a fool when she rolled her eyes and said in a tone that I interpreted as exasperated, "There's a latch at the upper top corner of the gate." She was right. There was a latch but it was painted the same color as the gate and I didn't notice it. I only noticed the key hole. My bad. As I floated in the pool, I said to myself, "You are Bad Dog." Someone needs to explain to this Office woman that without these pesky visitors, her business will have no customers and she will have no job.
