Great mom and pop hotel for a quick stay!! My bf and I needed a quick place to stay while my parents were in an Airbnb nearby, we book this place last minute and it was affordable, clean, and comfortable! King sized bed with a tv. You can tell that the bedding is new! I forgot to take pictures of the room but the other ones represent. Nice bathroom and pretty spacious.

Perfect little spot to stop and stay while in town for a conference. Front desk was helpful and went out of their way to assist me upon arrival, and again with a quickly resolved technical issue. Absolutely will stay again at this hidden gem. Thank you!

Had a nice experience at the Crescent Bay Inn! Was greeted and helped out with checking in early. So close to the beach! The place has character and it feels homey :)

The bottom on all of the furniture was like this. Not a good choice for a beachside interior.

Icky and uncomfortable. I stayed here years ago when it was very old but it was still clean and in good repair. The place has an unsettling odor as if the only cleaning product being used is ammonia. This does not remove the soap scum from the shower floor or clean the shower curtain which has probably never been changed out since they installed it. The towels are child- sized and not exactly new. There was no hair conditioner, no hangers and there was no housekeeping. One of the things about any beach property is that it's necessary to replace anything that gets oxidized from the salt air. Additionally there is the risk of roaches so the place should be able to be sealed well, not have a large gap at the front door. We were very dissatisfied with the PCH sidewalk location with heavy traffic. There is basically no difference between sleeping on the street or in the room in terms of noise. Horrible!

First time staying here, but won't be our last. Not a fancy hotel, no pool or jacuzzi, but rooms are comfortable, with mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and air conditioning. We paid to upgrade to ocean view rooms, and glad we did; these are in Building 3, which are furthest from street, closest to beach (Building 1 is on the street, and I imagine would be loud). We had two 2-Queen rooms: 309 - which had the nicest ocean view, and 306 - semi-blocked by a huge Torrey Pine, but ocean view through the Torrey Pine was lovely, too. No balcony, but outside the door is a walkway, which you could stand on and enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. They also have a nice sitting area downstairs, with a table, chairs a couple loungers and a fire pit, plus beach shower, and some chairs and beach towels to borrow. Easy walk to beautiful Crescent Bay Beach and park. Manager Sal was very friendly and helpful, too. Look forward to our next trip!

We love staying at Crescent Bay Inn. The clerk was incredibly helpful and friendly. He helped us find a better parking spot for our bigger vehicle. The parking is a little challenging so be careful. They room was clean, the air conditioning worked great and we loved that the offer beach towels to use. The beach shower is very helpful when you return from the short walk to the beautiful cove. We look forward to staying there again, affordable and fantastic location.

Great place to stay! We had room facing ocean view, beautiful and quiet. Short walk to beach, hotel has chairs, towels. Trolley in Laguna Beach is great, up and down main streets to get to restaurants and pageant of the masters! Trolley is close to hotel. Outdoor patio is nice as well.

We, I was there to celebrate my sister's birthday!

I was a little worried when we saw the facility, but the rooms were nice and clean! The management are very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the area! My family and I needed to understand that coastal beachfront properties have been around for many many years and that the buildings are older!

This place was pretty great! I paid 140$ for four nights. It was really close to the beach, walking distance. The location was great as well. Everything was nearby about 10pm items away. I would come here again. You get what you pay for. I have no complaints.

They are so kind and made sure our stay was a pleasant one. The hotel itself is right on the sand. There's beautiful views all throughout the hotel and from the rooms. The location is perfect and close walking distance from many great dining spots. You want to walk whenever possible because parking is a bit stressful and walking allows you to enjoy all that Laguna Beach has to offer. One of my favorite things about the room was being able to open the windows and sliding door to the beautiful ocean breeze. It's the best! (We couldn't do that for a portion of our stay because a couple of the neighbors continued to smoke. Not the hotel's fault because it is non-smoking but we were bummed that we kept smelling it in our room.) The room was nice, quaint and clean in general. For the price per night, I would say it might be due for some up keep just from normal wear and tear, such as new pillows and things like that. It wasn't super fancy or anything but the location of it offered beautiful views! The hotel and staff are lovely overall. We would genuinely stay here again.

She explained all the hotel's amenities. In addition to the room charge, a $40 resort fee got us: 1. On-site parking; 2. Welcome sangrias; 3. Chocolate chip cookies each night; 4. A European styled breakfast each morning from 7am to 10am; 5. Wi-fi; 6. Beach chairs and umbrellas. Parking in Laguna Beach is a premium, so parking at the resort was great. The city of Laguna offers a free shuttle with a bus stop almost in front of the hotel. So we parked our car and took the shuttle all over town. The property is a well maintained, quant renovated 26 room Italian style resort. It's clean, charming, and has lots of character. It felt nice being at a small property and not at a large commercial hotel. We felt like we were back in Italy on vacation again! Just walking past the front of the hotel, you would not know that there is a luxury resort inside. They have a heated swimming pool (83 degrees), a sauna, and a secluded sun bathing lounge area and several other amenities. We opted for the heated wellness treatment which is a jacuzzi hot tub for two with mineral water. But they also offer single and couples messages and other message therapies. They have a quant internal courtyard for dining as well. We enjoyed a great European breakfast each day which was well prepared, fresh, healthy, and served by great hostesses. We especially liked the frittatas, fresh squeezed orange juice, hot coffee, and iced cold lemon water. The property is a historic landmark, so it doesn't offer handicap accessibility. So if you or someone in your group is in a wheel chair or uses a walker then this property won't work for you. Overall we really enjoyed staying here and would definitely go back again.

The service was excellent and can see that staff takes great care and attention to making sure everything is taken care of. We very much appreciated all the amenities this inn had to offer such as the welcome drink, evening cookies (delicious!), sauna, sunblock at the pool, towels, lovely breakfast.. all complimentary (breakfast with resort fee). We also appreciated the 10% military discount. We stayed in room 23 which was a standard queen bed with garden view and liked that spot because it felt central, private, and quiet. The room is on the smaller side but it was fine. It does not have a fridge but they provide an ice bucket. We ended up putting our bottled waters on top of the AC box and that kept it cool. Being that the inn is beautifully historic, there weren't many outlets inside the room. The bath robes were very plush. Both lamp shade knobs didn't seem to turn properly but we made it work somehow. Otherwise, we felt well taken care of throughout our stay and so glad we came. Aside from the inn, there is a walk to get to Victoria Beach. We walked south along Coast Highway to Victoria Place and found the underpass from there. We also took the free trolley outside of the hotel to get around town. It could be quite a wait for the trolley as we waited 30 mins. There is a QR code on the sign to track the trolley locations.

I researched every hotel I could find that was within walking distance to the beach in Laguna. I was not sure what to expect since reviews were a little inconsistent. I was very impressed by the ambiance of this hotel! It's gorgeous! It's warm, tropical and beachy. Very unlike a chain hotel. There were a lot of beautiful details that made the hotel unique. The bed was very comfortable too. Our room had direct access to the pool and that was a nice feature. Other reviews mention the high cost, I agree, it was costly with additional fees. However it's not an economy hotel. It's directly on the beach and I expected to pay a premium rate because of that. A welcome note and fruit were left in the room upon arrival. The staff were great, Sam checked us in and he was very sweet. There was another young man with long hair that was also very kind (I didn't get his name, he gave great direction on some local shopping). Cons - Our room was not serviced for our 2 night stay. We removed our dnd sign from 11-3 and no one came. For $600 a night this is wild to me that our mats were still wet and no coffee refilled, I didn't see the cleaning staff once throughout our stay. - There is no true restaurant at this hotel. Bites and drinks but no substantial meals. Wasn't surprising to see takeout bags all throughout the halls. - As others stated $75 a night parking fee is wild but you can take your car out as much as you like since there is no Valet - zero amenities in the room -- you have to pay for toothbrush, no water bottles or even carafes of water. Overall the staff, outside of the lovely check in woman were essentially non existent. No cleaners, and even in the morning there were 2 men but they didn't greet or acknowledge anyone. Again for $300 it would be fine and expected but for $600 and on some days even $1K a night on the 4th of July this is wildly overpriced for what you get.

She was efficient but less than welcoming during the check-in process. Unfortunately, I had to interact with this woman two more times during my stay and each interaction was equally unpleasant. My goal in staying at The Tides was to destress but she made me feel like "Bad Dog". Soon after checking in, I had to return to the Office to ask for assistance with accessing the WiFi and a day later, I had to ask for assistance with accessing the pool. I assumed that I needed to use my hotel key to open the gate to the pool. The Office woman made me feel like a fool when she rolled her eyes and said in a tone that I interpreted as exasperated, "There's a latch at the upper top corner of the gate." She was right. Someone needs to explain to this Office woman that without these pesky visitors, her business will have no customers and she will have no job.
