Great Christmas decoration at Resource Building Materials; gotta love the Bartell Global plate compactor sleigh.

They only stock the best materials, yet the prices are really good too. But mostly the staff; they obviously care about their customers.

I wouldn't consider myself anything close to an expert when it comes to building supplies, but that didn't stop me from enjoying my visit to Resources Building. After deciding I'd rather find a wholesaler to buy rocks from instead of loading up bags from a big box store, I headed here early in the morning to check out their options. After looking at the rock and gravel samples outside, I went inside to ask if they had a price list. They didn't, but since I didn't know exactly what I wanted, the employee assisting me walked outside with me and provided the information and estimated prices off the top of his head. I probably don't look like their average customer, yet I was treated well and received personal attention. We went back inside and he gave me a more precise quote, which was a little less than his estimate, which was nice. He even gave me delivery options and gave me suggestions about transporting it in a truck, like making sure to cover it so debris did not fly out during transport. I'll be honest, I don't usually buy rocks by the "scoop", so I really had no idea what the cost would be. They sell the gravel I was looking at by the scoop, which is half a cubic yard, which weighs a bit more than half a ton. Now that I had some idea of what I wanted, I called another place to get a price as a point of comparison to make sure I was paying a fair price. The price here was about $23 per scoop, compared to about $30 at another place I called, so I was happy to have gone here. In addition to making gravel and selling rocks, they have a whole variety of building supplies, from stucco and tile and tools to sponges. I would suggest checking out their website and making a trip to this place. They have multiple locations and because they are the kind of place contractors shop, they open early in the morning. What really impressed me about this place is the kind and friendly service I received. I'll be back and wish I had found this place sooner!

Me and my mom had been looking for these stones for a long time. We could not find them even on Google search until I decided to give it a try on Yelp. Surprisingly, Resource Building Materials has every type of stones with an ideal price that we are interested in. Highly recommended!

Shocked this is only the second review. Came in looking for some stones for my new garden. The displays and samples they have set up left me feeling so inspired. Much better selection than the big guys. I can't wait to pick up my flagstones.

Wish that when we did our whole home remodel we knew about the YARD - would have been awesome to have them in our corner. ALSO, they have relationships with phenomenally talented and professional artisan/fabricators. They connected us with Enrique Ramirez, and WOW! What a guy - gave us results that exceeded our expectations by an order of magnitude, delivered with adroit and sensitive focus on our needs and schedule. Quality of Enrique's work was superb, and price was mind-blowing terrific. Wish I could give six (6) stars. Use the YARD and ask for Enrique on your project!

Him & I previously started at a different place and had really unwelcoming experience; so walking into The Yard we were apprehensive. But from the start walking in we were so happy to be greeted by Wayne. He was welcoming from the start. He walked us through the different slabs, explained the pieces and we never felt any pressure. I ended up falling in love with a granite slab that I wasn't even the color I was looking for- LOL. It was a great deal, I couldn't pass up. Lastly, two days after purchase, I called to inform Wayne that our contractor was going to pick it up the slab. Well our contractor forgot the A-frame and it was caught by the employee and I was immediately given a follow up text. Needless to say my contractor returned the following day with the A-frame and I was given a follow up text when it left. WOW! Talk about great service!! 5 Stars!! Don't hesitate to come here.

"Well, if we're going to replace the toilet in here, we might as well rip this cheap flooring out that came with the condo and put in new tile..." This lead to a new mirror, sink, fixtures, a new countertop, a new tub, etc So he again puts me to work on a weekend and said use your Yelp elite skills and find us a place to go. I said well, we live by the mile of tile... but I do my research anyways. TBH - the first time we walked in, I didn't get the warm and fuzzies. I mean I don't want to be stalked while shopping but, I do want to be acknowledged esp since we had questions. Anyways, we ended getting help from Ana and it's been great since. My husband is in charge of this project so he mostly deals with the contractor, our vendors, etc There's plenty of variety to choose from and besides Ana, we had been helped by others when she's not there. Everyone is helpful and gives you options based on what you tell them you're looking for. I'm sure we will be back for more projects in the future!

They were one of the few places I found that carried prefabricated quartz countertops within my budget. That's where the positive experience ended though. The countertops that came in looked like a watered down version of the floor sample, much more plain and washed out. I understand these are manufactured items and won't be identical, but they should still be in the same range as what is displayed. We even reordered with a different style, thinking that might solve the issue, but the second set had the same problem. After two failed attempts, I tried to cancel the order altogether. The items never left the facility, but Bodega would not allow a return. My contractor even tried to convert the order into store credit to use for another client, and that request was also refused. Customer service only added to the frustration. I came in right at opening one day because I needed to get in and out quickly before work. Despite that, I was passed over while staff handled a large tile delivery, which could have easily been done before opening or at a less busy time. I understand waiting my turn, but this felt poorly managed and inconsiderate, and it nearly made me late. Overall, this was a disappointing experience on multiple levels. Between the product issues, lack of flexibility, and poor service, I would not recommend coming here.

With its eye-catching exterior, this large hardware store is reminiscent of the old west...& for some reason reminded me of a giant log-ride themed attraction at an old west themed amusement park. Pretty cool! Established in 1884, Ganahl Lumber began selling cement & lumber in the L.A. area. They eventually expanded to various locations (including the Anaheim location opening in 1904), & now offer lumber, paint, cement, doors & windows, hardware, moulding, novelty nostalgic candies & snacks, & much more. I'd been curious about the Anaheim location for years, so when the need arose & I was in the area, I had to check them out. Upon entry, there are interesting historic facts about Ganahl & cool artifacts on display. The store is huge, & they have a large selection of stock that you may not find at some of the larger chain big-box store. It's a gigantic version of an old-fashioned neighborhood hardware store! With the exception of the helpful reps in the paint department (where they carry Benjamin Moore), the only downside I experienced with this location has been the disappointing level of customer service. After being practically ignored during in-person visit & also encountering condescending/rude reps on the telephone, unfortunately, I do not plan to return to this location. As much as I like the store itself, the level of customer service I've experienced has been so bad that unfortunately I do not plan to return. With that said, however, everyone's experiences may vary (some good...some bad). One thing for sure: If you're a history buff looking for a hard-to-find item, Ganahl Lumber in Anaheim just may be worth a visit.
