Hispanic guy was half ass trying to help but didn't seem to have patience to stay around. White guy was a bit better but wasn't much better. I wouldn't consider myself anything close to an expert when it comes to building supplies, but that didn't stop me from enjoying my visit to Resources Building. After deciding I'd rather find a wholesaler to buy rocks from instead of loading up bags from a big box store, I headed here early in the morning to check out their options. After looking at the rock and gravel samples outside, I went inside to ask if they had a price list. They didn't, but since I didn't know exactly what I wanted, the employee assisting me walked outside with me and provided the information and estimated prices off the top of his head. I probably don't look like their average customer, yet I was treated well and received personal attention. We went back inside and he gave me a more precise quote, which was a little less than his estimate, which was nice. He even gave me delivery options and gave me suggestions about transporting it in a truck, like making sure to cover it so debris did not fly out during transport. I'll be honest, I don't usually buy rocks by the "scoop", so I really had no idea what the cost would be. They sell the gravel I was looking at by the scoop, which is half a cubic yard, which weighs a bit more than half a ton. Now that I had some idea of what I wanted, I called another place to get a price as a point of comparison to make sure I was paying a fair price. The price here was about $23 per scoop, compared to about $30 at another place I called, so I was happy to have gone here. In addition to making gravel and selling rocks, they have a whole variety of building supplies, from stucco and tile and tools to sponges. I would suggest checking out their website and making a trip to this place. They have multiple locations and because they are the kind of place contractors shop, they open early in the morning. What really impressed me about this place is the kind and friendly service I received. I'll be back and wish I had found this place sooner! read more

All the guys are super helpful. Been in there a few times to purchase things for an exterior remodel. We even order some specific materials and before completing the sale the guy went out and located some samples and inspected them. He explained the samples were not up to standard and would be ordering new materials from the manufacture being completing the sale. Great place, huge selection of products and great prices. Totally bait and switched me. Picked out the boulders I wanted and was told they were 18 cents a pound (around $700), but they were super busy and couldn't give me exact pricing for an hour. I asked whether they could just call with a price later that day and I'd come pay the next day; they agreed, but never called. I called them two days later to ask for the price and they said they would weigh it an call me back. Since I was near the area I just drove in ready to buy the boulders with a long list of other things I needed. Magically, the price nearly doubled and is now 30 cents per pound ($1300). Guy claims he misidentified the stone. I'm beyond annoyed, especially because the first guy I spoke to told me he would drop the price from 21 to 18 cents, right off the bat. Not sure if gender bias has anything to do with it, but I'll be looking elsewhere. Beyond disappointed. read more

I had been to three other places and asked about getting base gravel for my driveway. All of those places luckily were out of base gravel and didn't make any sort of recommendations for me. When I went to resource right away they said you don't want base gravel for a driveway and recommended a different type of gravel. Little did I know base gravel was just rocks and dirt. Everything was quick and easy, was able to phone in my order the next day after I calculated how much I needed. Delivery and payment was smooth. One word of advice, make sure you ship from the location you viewed the materials from as there is a slight variation between store locations - especially if you're picky like me. We recently completed a project to replace our driveway, walkway, and porch with concrete pavers. When we started, our preferred contractor suggested we go to Resource Building Materials to see samples so we could decide what we wanted. They were very accommodating when we arrived and showed us our choices. Our contractor ordered almost everything we required from them. The day after the pallets of material were delivered, a Resource Building Materials representative came by and asked if everything was delivered properly. He was helpful and personable, making the vision of the project come to reality. The delivery truck driver was courteous accommodating when placing the material in the small driveway. He even arrived a little earlier than estimated, allowing me to start earlier and get more done! The materials were superior to competition at equivalent and lower prices. Been coming to this resource for a long time. I own a construction company and when I'm close by I always use this location to get my materials. Can't say enough good things about the yard hands. Always prompt to load you up and friendly. No waiting around here. They grab your slip and load your truck. The desk people inside can be hit or miss. Usually everyone is friendly. Juan is my homie. He used to work in the yard, but now works inside. Always good to see him. The young Asian girl is hit or miss. She's messed up a few times on orders, but is usually friendly. I just wanted to write about my experience with Resource Building Materials and Alliance Gator. I had gone to Resource earlier this week to pick up Alliance's new Gator formula for their Gator Maxx. I picked some bags up but afterwards found it was their old formula. Now normally you go back and exchange and the story ends there... Except this isn't normally this is where it's amazing. I called up Alliance to find where I could get the new formula and they directed me to the regional rep Westley. I reached out to him and he went so above and beyond I'm still in shock and very thankful. He was able to get me the right formula Gator Maxx and then came over to my house and spend -THREE HOURS- helping prep and install the product. Here he is in work attire getting down and dirty taking the lead and installing the product and making it look absolutely amazing. Not only did I have a great experience getting my flagstone from Resource but one of their vendors somehow managed to give me an even better experience from a simple mixup. read more
