I can't recall when I couldn't wait to write a review, even rarer, a kitchen's inspiration/creation exceeding my expectations, but such is what Chef Megan Potts accomplished during my experience last night! This month's menu included three choices among each of the 'Appetizers', 'Entrees' and 'Desserts', allowing our party of four to share almost all of the available options.  I had never had kangaroo, but the tenderloin presented to me was cooked to perfection and as flavorful and tender as any meat I have ever had.  The more familiar bacon wrapped quail and lemon sole were EXQUISITE and the appetizers of braised veal wontons and chilled corn-hatch chile chowder were so outstanding, my wife not only shared them with us as our starters, but doubled-down by ordering them again as her main course.  The dessert options of chilled chocolate fondant with brown butter ice cream and olive oil cake, were the perfect ending to a perfect meal! Service was impeccable (it's so refreshing to witness folks with a smile and genuine desire of caring, obviously enjoying what they are doing) and the setting and ambiance is intimate, refined and relaxed.  Wine and beer selections are adequate. To best summarize, just read 'OUR STORY" on the Anise homepage and be prepared for Chef Megan to personally visit your table to ensure your experience was up to those expectations! read more

A local gem. Very unique monthly menu and definitely a foodie spot. The only down side is the lack of intimate dining.

This is the best food I have ever had I ate there with my mommy and daddy and I loved it.

It's a set menu with two choices of main course. Lamb or Mahi Mahi. I understand this changes daily. The stuffed mushrooms were cold the meatballs were ok the roasted chicken was ok. The Mahi Mahi was cold and dry and tough as leather. The bread pudding was ok. I did not eat anything but one mushroom and my chicken strip the orzo and broccolini. I explained to the server however I got a bill for $86. No offer of "let us make it right" or a comped check or a gift card to come back Nothing but a check and I'm sorry I hope you come back and try again. No. Not this girl. I had another lady at the table say the same thing. When the mushrooms came out cold we should have said something and had them take it back. But we were part of the "Murder Mystery" so we played good sport. So if they ask me to participate again I will have to decline. I do not recommend this place. I can get better food at Randy's Oyster Bar and for a third the price. I actually love that place. This gets a 1 out of 10 The 1 is because the girl that booked the event was sweet. read more

We stopped in Granbury for the night during the holidays and were so glad to have the option to try the chef box to go. The gumbo was heaven - rich and nuanced. The pasta dish was fun and flavorful too, but the soup was the clear winner. I love that they use a wider range of proteins than usual. Also saw that they were doing a canned food/toy drive to benefit the community - how sweet is that? Highly recommend and can't wait to be back! read more

Congratulations to Chef Megan and her staff for opening a fabulous restaurant in Granbury! It is a more upscale/fine dining location with a French flair. Our party enjoyed appetizers and all three entrees, and they did not disappoint. The menu changes monthly, and I cannot imagine anything that wouldn't be incredible based on our experience. read more

From a sublime roasted garlic soup to amazing lamb shanks and finishing with a cardamom ice cream topped chocolate date cake, the meal was made even more perfect by being served by Chef Meagan Potts! Dined at Anise with friends on 9/11/2020. It is difficult to describe how good the meal was. I have read the other reviews and I agree with every one of them. It is not just the food however. Megan came in the dining area and chatted with us like she had nothing more important to do. She did that at every table. Interesting people and delicious food. Our waitress told us the table was ours for 2 hours. No rush, just an enjoyable experience. read more

We were in town for a concert on Friday night and decided to make a weekend of it. Restaurant Anise popped up as highly recommended on several searches so we made a reservation. So glad we did! It is definitely an intimate setting and that was nice. The wait staff - Kaylyn (sp?) and Taylor were very attentive, friendly and charming. We shared the lobster soufflé appetizer and it was heavenly! Large chunks of lobster on top of a creamy and flavorful soufflé! I think my husband and I would have happily enjoyed our own, but we've realized we just can't eat as much at one sitting anymore, so we shared. We both ordered the petite buffalo filet for our main course and it was excellent! The filet had 2 jumbo grilled prawns atop it, with charred onion grits, broccolini and a pickled cherry relish. Heavenly! We were barely able to eat all our main course, so as much as we had considered dessert because each one we saw come out of the kitchen looked incredible, we ended up ordering limoncellos that we learned were made by the chef and they were really great! We had the good fortune to go to Italy a couple of years ago and there was limoncello pretty much every place we visited and we can say, in our opinion, this was some of the finest limoncello we have ever tasted. All in all, we live a little under 2 hours from Granbury, yet we would consider spending a weekend here regularly and will always make Restaurant Anise a special part of those weekends! read more
