This place is seriously a Godsend.... Where else can you get a 40 lb box of boneless skinless chicken thighs for what essentially came down to about about $1.30/lb? Need a bag of mixed green salad that is enough for about 25-30 people for under $5? Need a box of 1000 styrofoam cups for under $20? Restaurant Depot is your answer. Fortunately, RD is not open to the public, unlike Costco, which means there is NO crowds and NO lines. But I do have the say the parking lot is set up kind of funky. The set up is similar to Costco where you have long aisles of products with palettes and palettes of extra stuff piled high almost to the ceiling. What's not similar to Costco is that, of course it's obvious with the name, that RD sells ONLY food and restaurant equipment. There were a lot of items that were available for purchase by the case, or individually, such as the canned items. I think that's great they do that because that accommodates both small and large restaurants. The prices were very reasonable too. I think in some cases, it was cheaper than what you would see at Costco. The dairy, meats and poultry, and produce sections are actually all connected, essentially making it one big room. (I seriously wonder how much their electricity bill is the keep that thing running 24/7. Seriously, if you saw how big of a space it was, you would too). Again, because it's RD is only open to those with a business/restaurant license, there are only a couple handful of people in here, so you're not battling through the aisles and crowds like you are at Costco. I actually still have my friend's card in my possession. I just haven't had a chance to get it back to him, and I wish I could keep it. read more

I love Restaurant Depot. So due to the pandemic Restaurant Depot is open to the public (they usually only cater to restaurants). It was very nice of them to open their doors to the public. The parking lot is ample make sure to get a cart before walking in as you'll definitely be needing it. The girl at the entrance was super sweet. She explained everything and gave me a temporary ID on a piece of paper. Do not lose that piece of paper as you need that ID # at checkout. They have huge freezers and literally anything and everything you need (in bulk obviously). The aisles are wide and everything is easy to find. Staff is also very helpful in case you need help finding anything. The checkout line goes by pretty fast. Definitely worth it if you like to buy in bulk. This is like the Costco of restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place. Check it out, especially now that they allow the public to purchase/enter. read more

I love, love, love Restaurant Depot! As a Chef, I can get food delivered to me anytime I want, but I sometimes like to just come in and browse and buy new things to cook with. The prices are also much cheaper than my purveyor, so that's another reason why I come here so often. The meats and poultry are high quality, and there's a great selection. The one thing missing is a fresh seafood department, which many of the RD stores now have. The produce is always in great shape and is also well priced. Great selection of dairy and eggs too. Make sure to bring your jacket, as the huge walk in refrigerators are cold inside! I travel all around the country and shop at many Restaurant Depot's and Jetro locations, but this is my favorite store in their chain. read more

I shop here twice a week for work, they have everything a restaurant needs, keep an eye on the beef when they have specials, you can find really good deals. Friendly staff from the cashier to the guy outside that helps you load your stuff into your car. read more

I shop here all the time for my restaurant. It is OK. Two reasons why I am not in love with the place: 1) the prices are generally NOT very good, and neither is the quality. I saw pans of similar (or better?) quality at Cost Plus for a dollar less...not on sale. The pans I paid more for at the Depot had their rubber handles slip off a week later. Irritating. 2) They cater to only the most basic low quality restaurants around. This is great if you own a breakfast diner, a casual Mexican joint, or some other uninspired establishment. Sort of sucks when you are trying to do something of specialty. Good for basics...bulk basics. read more

This particularly RD is not my favorite, but the closest to me. They were out of an item I use a lot of my shop, so I asked the front desk if they were going to restock. She told me to talk to the manager, which I did. I told him I go through about 6-7 cases per week. I told him if he can up his order by 10 cases per week because every time I go, they are mostly out. And I would have to go to the walnut store for one item. Then, I came across the fountain valley location. Talked to marvin, the manager, and he agreed to order what I need just for me. So for the few months, I've been making the trip out there and picking up 35 cases (most my car can fit) thanks marvin!! read more

I heart Restaurant Depot! A perk of having a culinary school ID is being able to get a temporary pass to this food heaven. I recently got into juicing and let me tell you, fresh fruit and produce ain't cheap! Thank goodness for RD!! I got a case of 100 oranges, case of 100 apples, 6 zucchini, 6 cucumbers, 3 stalks of celery, a huge bag of parsley, 5lbs of baby carrots, 3lbs of spinach, & 12 cases of strawberries for 80 bucks! This could easily have cost me over $300 at Vons or Ralphs. If you're lucky to be in the food industry, take advantage and visit Restaurant Depot! This is the place I go whenever I have parties and I can buy beverages at bulk for cheap! love it! read more

THIS PLACE IS DOPE SON!!! Better than Costco if you are shopping strictly for wholesale food or restaurant supplies. Easy to find things and so much selection. All you need is a business license and a business relating to restaurants or food catering and membership is free! You'll need an alcohol license to purchase alcohol though. Price is about the same as Costco, but in my opinion food quality and variety is much better. Only downside is entering/exiting the parking lot, the entrance is located right on San Gabriel blvd. read more

Because of the Pandemic I was in search of toilet paper. It is currently open to the public. I bought several items. My friend who owns a restaurant went with me to check prices neither of us were members, but we thought about getting him a membership. Except we found out the hard way we could not return an item we had purchased less than an hour before we had returned. The girl at the counter said only members can return item, she said let me check maybe you can exchange them, we said fine. She said no, sales are final! I said what? I asked where is it posted, she said everywhere. Which is a lie! They write it at the top of the receipts, but do not inform you visually on signs or verbally at the register! How disgusting that during this difficult time they would treat those of us doing business for the first time with them in this way. We left the item he was returning, gave the unfilled application back, and decided to take our business elsewhere! Remember how businesses treated you during this difficult period in time! There are too many other warehouses to accept this type of treatment. read more
