I would highly recommend this establishment even if you just wanted to come for a beverage and enjoy the glorious views outside. We had the crab cake which was amazing. Crispy coating but soft inside no fillers and mostly meat. Came with a small side salad with a vinaigrette. The butter lobster roll was good not great but I am from New England where you can't beat the local lobster. Full of meat. I would of preferred it to be warmer. The view was amazing that I could of stayed all day. Our waiter was fantastic. I'm finding in this area that you get waited on quickly and served quickly but waiting for the check has been painful everywhere I go. First time here as we're staying at a cottage on the Ile d'Orleans right outside Quebec City. Fantastic food. Fantastic ambience and service. They've done a great job with a building that's been there for over 100 years right on the shores of the Saint Lawrence Lake. We ordered the fish and chips as well as the creamy mussels. Great location right on the water. Pretty and modern interior. Interesting menu with something for everyone from three kinds of poutine to pizza to fish tacos, also mussels, and fresh oysters. Attentive service. We enjoyed the smoked fish appetizer and the fresh veg appetizer served with fresh soft cheese. The glass of local white wine was crisp and not too sweet. Only off note was that the bread was cold as if it was kept in the fridge and the butter was rock hard lumps. When i mentioned to the server that cold, hard butter was not appealing and could not be spread on the bread, she responded with some nonsense about the butter needing to be cold because of the flavoring added to it ?!?! A local cheese maker recommend this place and it did not disappoint. Located right on the shore with beautiful views of the St. Lawrence River, the ambience is clean crisp coastal cool. That's all well and good, but the food is the star! We shared a cup of clam chowder that was insanely good and then I got the lobster poutine, because, when in Rome. It was amazing. My hubby and I stopped here as it was on the water and the parking lot was full. We noticed the bad reviews after we were fully invested in getting our lunch there. Honestly the food we had was delicious!! We have no complaints. My hubby had the clam chowder which he proclaimed as excellent as well and shrimp penne which I tried and thought was really good as well. I had the turkey leg with mashed potatoes and veggies. All very tasty! The view of the water was also a bonus. They gave us a menu in English and so it was easy to figure out what we wanted. The only downfalls are they aren't super prompt in filling your glasses and they're pricey for what you get. We had 2 lunch entrees and a soup and only drank water and it was $60 total. I'm surprised by the bad reviews. My husband and I stopped here and had a lovely lunch. Granted, the view while sitting on the patio definitely adds to the experience. We both loved the crab cake app, which had think pieces of crab. I can only complain that it was too small. The lobster roll was fine, with celery mixed in and a giant heap of fries. My husband loved his shrimp dish. My only real complaint is that the women's bathroom was gross. One stall out of order and another had a soaking wet floor. read more

Yes, wow, score! What an amazing spot! Really don't understand the bad reviews - sounds like people had attitude issues - this is Quebec, so bringing an attitude with you is a bad call :) My mussel dish was shocking in its size - 68 mussels! For a very low price, I must add. We've had 4 different dishes, and all were freshly cooked and tasted great. There is a rather large dessert selection, however I can't say I've enjoyed any of it - could be my own preferences. Will definitely repeat, many times. read more

We were apprehensive to come in here because of the ratings and because of the prices, but we stopped in anyway to get some quick snacks before taking the turn back to exit the island. We were immediately greeted by a very sweet host who ended up being our server, as well. We ordered clam chowder, poutine with chicken, and duck rilletes. I am totally perplexed by the poor reviews others have given this restaurant! It was recommended to us by the clerk at a ciderie we visited on the Ile d' Orleans. He said it was on the beach. We sat outside and had a great view. They offered many local wines from the island which was a plus. I had the mussels with local cider and mustard cream. Huge serving! There were probably at least 30 mussels served with fries. My husband and son had a bowl of clam chowder which had huge clams in it and was some of the best we have ever had. My husband also got a shrimp ceviche which was made from local shrimps. Delish! Our server was super friendly and food came fairly quickly. It's really a 2 - 2.5 stars but I wanted to offset the negative review that didn't correspond at all to our experience. The service was friendly, not quick, but this isn't a fast food outlet. When my wife admitted that her French wasn't great, the server slowed down her delivery to the point where she could understand everything. Our server did speak English, but we wanted to try it all in French. We shared a delicious crispy shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. My wife had a decent rainbow trout, accompanied by a limp salad that seemed to have been made yesterday. I had the moules et frites. OK, but not fantastic for either the moules or the frites. So really, the eating experience was "meh, I've had better". But the view out on the St. Lawrence, watching the tide go out and admiring the villages on the south side and the passing marine traffic was great. Final comment re the price. I am here in Quebec on vacation. My friends and I decided to stop here for lunch, as it one of the only restaurants on D'Orleans. The service was very poor, and the food took about an hour to come out. When I ordered I asked for no mayo or cheese on my burger because I'm lactose intolerant and the manager said that that request would cause chaos in the kitchen. That comment really didn't make any sense! She was un accommodating and made me feel guilty about not wanting cheese!! We sat at our table with our drinks empty and no waiter even acknowledged us. We started to wonder why our food was taking so long, so we looked in the kitchen and the cooks weren't even working. After a waitress finally noticed our drinks were empty she brought more over and spilled one all over the table. When the food finally arrived it wasn't good. The pizza my friend ordered looked and tasted like an uncooked microwave pizza. Not to mention the bill was unreasonably high. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. After about 10 min., Still with no acknowledgement of our presence, the couple in front of is was seated. After another 5 min., at least 6 more patrons had arrived. Still no greeting, although several waiters dropped off menus at the hostess stand. They wouldn't even meet our eyes. I called to one, asking how long for a table. About a minute was the response. Around three minutes later, we gave up and left. Still no greeting or explanation for delay. By the way, the couple seated just before us were still waiting to order.
