The perfect spot for a date night or brunch, the ambiance is beautiful and quite vibey! We were sat immediately, the hostess and our waitress were both so kind and our waitress was very attentive. We started out with the crab cakes, which the presentation alone is so beautiful and the flavor is also amazing!! I got the chicken parmesan with sauce on the side and it was super good, my bf got the ultimate grilled cheese and although we wished the bread was crispier, the flavor was very good. Great ambience beautifully decorated in an old historic building. The staff was super friendly and kind. Great menu options and delicious wine. I do wish they were open a little later in the week days. Parking is hard at the moment due to construction in downtown Lufkin. But I think they should be done in early Oct 2024. I'll be back in the fall to try and enjoy the outside patio with a glass of wine. read more

Wine anyone... I chanced it and ordered tge Fiesta Winery, Happy Trails (Pinot Gris, Peach Bliss), Lometa, TX! It was awesome! The waiter was nice and knew the menu. Ordered the cheesy flatbread with balsalmic for appetizer. It was just okay... although it was an odd pairing. I must compliment the cheese... You can tell it was made with milk and not oil. It would have been better with a bit of arugela and sliced barrett pears with a balsalmic drizzel. That screams winner. Fast forward to dinner... I got the Strawberry Field Salad with Chicken. The salad was unique because it didnt contain the standard spinach and strawberry salad. Instead of dry walnuts, the salad had spicy peanuts, which was odd, but tasted great! Everything else was pretty standard. However, the chicken was a bit tastless. A plus rating for the dessert. I ordered the Tuxedo Cake and it was a huncking size cake. It was good, not the best, but definitely still yummy!!! Restoration is nestled into the quaint cityscape of downtown Lufkin! Plenty of nightime parking on a weekday and cute lights. We had such a lovely experience here! The shrimp and grits was one of the best I've ever had...perfectly prepared, perfectly seasoned, appropriately portioned, unbelievably delicious! The fried green tomatoes were also amazing. My boyfriend who doesn't even like tomatoes enjoyed them. The service was stellar even though they were very short staffed. We didn't wait long at all for our food and everything was exactly as ordered. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and helpful and didn't miss a thing. I love this restaurant and visit it as often as I can. It's the only wine bar around and their selection is excellent. The servers are knowledgeable and provide an awesome atmosphere. Cody is fantastic!! The tomato flatbread is awesome (add spinach), the veggie pizza is delicious and fresh, and their create your own cheese plates are amazing too with excellent pairings and presentation. I always get the fried pickles and sometimes I order two!! My pregnant sister was obsessed with them!! They have a happy hour from 3-6pm with apps and drink specials. This place is very good. It's located in downtown Lufkin in an old building. Although not highly decorated, the place was comfortable and nice. It's seat yourself and they have a variety of booths and tables. Happy hour ends at 6, but I per used the happy hour menu and it looked extensive and worthwhile. The menu was also fairly extensive. Neither of us ordered wine, but the menu looked extensive and the prices were extremely reasonable. As for food, there was a variety of meat and cheese plates, salads, sandwiches, and flatbreads. My coworker and I each got the half flatbread salad combo for $8. It came out quickly and was a fairly large plate. I ordered balsamic vinegarette for my salad and it came on the side. My coworker, on the other hand, ordered a Caesar salad and the dressing came on it. The flatbread was delicious. We each ordered the Greek flatbread, and it came out with 6 slices each. All in all, I was very pleased with this place and would go there again. My ONLY complaint was that the service was a little slow. read more

We visit this place frequently and hopes it will survive. The atmosphere is great but for the price much is missing! For us the menu is very limiting. Too many Pizzas! If I want a pizza in Lufkin there are many MUCH better pizza places. Hamburgers are good BUT WHAT ABOUT A COUPLE OF GOOD steaks or chops? My mother-in-law had salmon that was too small of a portion and poor quality. They would do better with Fish N Chips and Fried shrimp. I had crispy chicken sliders that were good but for a main course choice, I got only two, I expected 4 ? Not a mean for the price. The wine prices are too high for Lufkin. I would have some great bottles on hand but I would also have some 18 dollar bottles. Their lowest price bottle is 24 dollars. I ordered a Zinfandel and the waitress made a mistake and gave me a cab. The meat and cheese plates are way to expensive for what you get. My wife is French and for 16 dollars you don't get much. Bottom line, they want to be up scale but their menu and quality is mid scale. We were their on a Friday night and the place was dead! read more

It seems like many of the folks reviewing this place are passing through Lufkin, as we were. There are plenty of places to eat in Lufkin, but most are chains and the rest serve theme food....Southern....Cajun etc. From what we saw most are located towards the Interstate. Restoration is in old downtown Lufkin, an area the City is trying to revitalize. Restoration is in an old hotel building. Many of the fixtures are early twentieth century. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The two wines we had, a Cab and a Zin were very good....Compliments to the person selecting the wines for the restaurant. We had a pizza and a specialty salad. Both were very tasty. So....why not five stars you ask....Having spent a lot of time in wine bars all over the country it seems the norm is to be a bit upscale...not snobby....ok maybe a bit snobby....Anyway, my point.....paper napkins, big soda glasses with straws for water sort of pull the place down. I can here people saying, "This is Lufkin for Pete's sake". My point is...if you are going to do it, do it right. You are trying to give the fine folks of Lufkin a different experience than the local chain. If this place was around when I was a young man in Texas, I would have definitely brought a girl I was trying to impress. Restoration is classy. My point, upgrade the tableware just a bit. The other thing negative....We asked for two different wines of the menu. We were told they did not have them but had substitutes. In today's computer age it is easy to change menus. My point, if something changes pull up the menu PDF on the computer, update it, print it out and change the page on the table menus. As I mentioned before, both substitute wines were very good. I definitely would recommend this place. People of Lufkin...dare to try something different. People passing through....fear not, you don't have to eat at one of the "usual suspects" or at places where the meal is going to be 2000 calories. I hope this place (and downtown Lufkin) survive. It will be tough. A guy walked in while we were there...ponied up to the bar and asked for a glass of wine. The guy behind the bar asked, "Red or White?" The customer said, "I don't know. I have never tried any." The brave manager picked one out, the guy guzzled it down and as the entertainment started (16 year old kid with a guitar....VERY GOOD), the guy walked out shaking his head in disgust. Did not like the wine.....the music? Probably not. More like...Bud Lite or Shiner Bock costs quite a bit less than a decent glass of wine. That said, Restoration's wine prices are cheap compared to every other place like this we have gone....Did I mention our wine was very good? Good luck Restoration Wine Bar! I visited this place with my SO recently when taking a road trip through Texas. It was very empty on a Friday evening, though, to be fair, the rodeo was in town. The strange part about this wine bar, however, was the total and complete lack of wines. Every wine I asked for was unavailable. The server knew nothing about wines, could not even offer me suggestions for substitutions, and had to keep running back to the kitchen to ask people for advice. Eventually I got sangria because it was sitting there and I knew it was available. Very watered down. There was live music because it was Friday night but the act was not particularly good - he used canned accompaniment and played the guitar with it. Don't get me wrong - we had a great time here. However, that was probably because we were feeling upbeat about being on vacation and were happy to be together. The whole situation just seemed really hilarious and we still laugh about it often - the wine bar with no wine. Ah well, we'll always remember the experience anyway! read more

What a wonderful discovery. Stopped by for a late lunch. It was not very busy. About three tables occupied and two at the bar. Service was excellent, as was my order. The Strawberry Fields side salad and 1/2 a Greek Flatbread was both tasty and nourishing. With a soft drink and tip, my total came to $15, so the prices for what you get are excellent. The free wifi access added to the service ethic of the place and I will return with SO (significant other) in tow the next time I get through. Normally, we have enjoyed our visits to this place. Today was just short of a Greek tragedy. We sat down and were ignored by passing waitresses for about 15min. We finally ordered and 45 min later we received our food. What we received was completely different from what we ordered and had to send it back. I spoke to the manager who did address the issue but blamed it on the new crew and being busy. When we got the meals back mine was still wrong. The point of addressing it was not to place blame. Feedback from customers is supposed to help a manager improve. This guy though he comped us the meal and apologized did so, oozing with attitude. A apology means squat when you are doing it to shut a customer up and not fix the issue. On the plus side the food was decent. The chicken and dumplings were good and the chicken salad was a delight. The greek flat bread was very tastey. Too bad attitudes ruined the experience. We won't be returning. I can handle mistakes in food and service, but I can't handle the bad attitude of management. read more

Upscale yet cozy and approachable. Very hospitable staff. I will eat there again. I have enjoyed its salads, and gluten-free half Hawaiian, half vegetarian pizza. The first time I had the pizza, I paired it with an Angry Orchard apple cider (gluten free) ... and discovered an unknown food allergy. Sneezed 100 times from the table to my car, and then quickly to the Kmart pharmacy. Anaphylaxis. Red face. Eyes spouting (not dripping). Pharmacist called an ambulance. EMS administered breathing treatments for 15 minutes, then I drove myself to a private 24-hour Emergency Room. 3 hours later I was able to breathe. Tested the pizza alone 3 days later. No problem. Allergist back in Houston performed skin tests and a forced trial on wine and the same Angry Orchard. Anaphylaxis triggered again by apple cider. Had to give up alcohol forever, and start carrying an EpiPen. Joys of aging. Should add years to my life, and dollars to my savings. read more

So stopped in at the only place with more than 2 stars around Lufkin TX and results are pure gold. Buffalo Bacon Bleu Cheese loaded potato chips are nothing less than ah-maz-ing. Wine list was awesome. Short staffed (on purpose, maybe) and things were slow- BUT ITS A WINE BAR. So people should be somewhat expected to hang out and drink, not rush through a meal. If you want to rush Water was gross- please invest in a filtration system cause I shouldn't have to pay $1 for Dasani because your water filter isn't good (ps, I know a guy). Overall, another great local gem! Would have gotten 5 stars with better service and water. Smh read more
