They have a $6 10x18 pan grate that fits snugly secured to the handles of the pan so you can roast meats as drippings fall 2" into the Pyrex. Also, the same "Winco" brand has a grate which fits inside the same glass Pyrex pan. If you want to elevate a small roast inside the 9x13, this $4 grate fits perfectly too. I stopped in shortly after opening and purchased two 9/16" rubber washers for approximately $1. Since I didn't have cash, I used my debit card. The cashier informed me there was a $3 minimum purchase requirement. When I said I did not need anything else, a man I assume was the owner told the cashier to simply add $2 as "labor" to reach the minimum. I found it strange that I was charged an additional $2 for no product or service. Although it was only $2, it was still money taken from my pocket for nothing. After leaving, I recalled that businesses are generally prohibited from imposing minimum purchase requirements on debit card transactions. I called the store to discuss the issue, but the person who answered, whom I believe was the same individual, abruptly hung up. I then returned to the store, where he was waiting near the entrance. When I showed him information regarding the law as it relates to debit card minimums, specifically 15 U.S.C. § 1693o-2 (Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act) he responded, "I was the one who hung up on you. I don't care. Have a nice day. Go tell your President." Regardless of the amount involved, what disappointed me most was the attitude and lack of professionalism displayed by the owner. I have always tried to support local businesses, but after this experience, I will not be returning. The $2 isn't the issue. The issue is an owner who apparently believes the rules don't apply to him and treats customers with contempt when they're brought to his attention. I hope the appropriate agencies and card networks share his confidence.

It's impressive at first, but if you are shopping for furniture or typical RH items I have bought in the past (linens) - it's very difficult to deal with this store. They don't seem to have as much of the old inventory on display, ironically...being 10x the size. Almost nothing is sold to customers to carry with them due to a stipulation by the neighborhood, unfortunately - so why RH insisted on this building is beyond me. Shipping furniture from RH is $199 - even if the chair itself is only $200 (if you buy it in store or online - it doesn't matter). Shipping towels is not as expensive ($30 for $200 in towels) but bed/bath items were free to carry-out from the North Ave store before it closed. Anyway, I gave up here. I couldn't find the items, and I couldn't find where you are supposed to check out - after being there for an hour. I see other reviews agree. I guess signs and check-out counters are out of style? Well, revenue will be going the same way. The other problem is that the rooms are very drab. It's like going clothes shopping when the only clothing they have on display is in muslin fabric (standard weave cream color)...and you have to visualize the color from a tiny swatch and hope it comes out ok - because you can't return custom items to my knowledge. Most of the store is beige and cream. The other fabric and color swatches are available on floor 2 (though if you're lucky, they will have swatches on your floor so you don't have to climb 20-60 stairs to get from the fabrics to your item like I did - cardio!). I know RH is mostly Earth tones, but they didn't add enough. There is so much empty / wasted space (especially on the modern floor) that I was actually mildly bored (and I love the RH style). I am not a huge fan of swatches because the full effect is easier seen in an actual piece of furniture. I know they can't put out 1000 separate furniture pieces, but maybe more variety than "everything in sand" would be nice. The artwork prices are insane. $3000 for a simple canvas piece that I can get at HomeGoods for $50? Also, I ordered something that was basically a copy off of framedart.com for $200 (with delivery and tax), and mine was 2x the size of what RH had (thanks RH for the inspiration, but I was not paying $650 for it + their crazy delivery prices). Plus, their glass is not anti-reflective, even at those prices. The chandeliers are incredible, but they are not for any normal place in the city. They are enormous - so unless you have a 2 story room, it wouldn't make any sense. So, this place is sort of a museum in some ways. Online, you can get normal sized lighting. I didn't think any of the salespeople were rude - but they weren't really available. They're still stuck with the ipads that barely worked on North Ave...but it seems like they're better at using them now. I can browse the website at home, so giving them ipads that just browse the same website seems a little bizarre. You have to find salespeople anyway (who are not identifiable by their clothes or any name tag - just look for the ipads!) because most of the time, I could not find prices on items I wanted. I really wonder if this store is going to be able to stay open because it's seriously the most challenging furniture store to shop in that I've ever been to. I know they don't want a cluttered space with 100s of pieces / colors everywhere, but that's how furniture sells...at least for me for the last 20 years that I have been furniture shopping. I've never been to a 5 story high furniture store before with a sparse array colorless items, and swatches only on 1 floor. I love RH style, though they're not selling me on the concept here. The North Ave store was fine. In sum: I know retailers need to change their ways in the online era, but this is not the right way to satisfy customers or be profitable. It's a museum, but they are not selling admission tickets to stay in business for very long. I say this as someone who loved RH and is genuinely concerned that they will lose a ton of money with this model. It seems like this was created for them by some horrible retail / customer experience consulting firm who has no concern for the brand beyond getting their check. What is the point of going to the store to see the salesperson scroll through their ipad of the same stuff I can see at home? Why are only 2% of the fabrics on actual furniture? I can't touch or see anything that I might consider (aside from light beige or medium beige)...so why did I bother coming in here? So, this is their 2015-16 attempt to be innovative...but maybe they should've looked at their neighbor on North Ave (Apple) to realize customers like to see & touch things (and interact with knowledgeable salespeople) - not be ignored & confronted with a limited selection of beige linen on 5% of the merchandise online. First department store review, ever. This permutation of RH is replete with beautiful decor, a very pretty food and beverage amenity and a cadre of unexpected and very frustrating challenges- the most topical being IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANYONE OR ANYWHERE TO ACTUALLY BUY ANYTHING HERE. Seriously, I have never questioned my own intelligence more than during the two consecutive visits to this store. Literally walking around looking for someone to pay- and no one asking if they can take my money. Neat store that I usually love, but lots to improve. Lots and lots of logistics to flesh out. Let's be clear, this is not a furniture store. This is a place for the pretentious to wander with wine and discuss what design style they like. Any attempt to get a salesperson off their Macs and helping is met with eye rolls. I was there yesterday and was told that only 15% of the collection is in the store, so the rest is just a guess that you should buy to see how it feels. Staff is rude, customers are laughable (perched on ottomans sipping wine and draped in designer labels for their fabulous selfies), and the merchandise might be decent we will never know about 85% of it. read more

I recently visited RH Restoration in Chicago and was really impressed by the beautiful atmosphere and amazing staff. The space alone makes it worth the visit. I ordered a mocktail, which was a little overpriced but still pretty good. For food, I tried the crispy artichoke and potatoes and the kale salad, both were fresh and flavorful. It had also rained the night before so a lot of the outside people had put tarps over their merch but items still got wet. Caveat emptor. Overall, it was worth checking out but we only bought one small item. Maybe next time!
