This has to be my favorite furniture store on this side of town. RH is famous for its sturdy, luxurious and timeless pieces, and the collection is classic yet modern and looks extremely sophisticated . As you walk in - high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers and opulent mirrors greet you in every corner . Its spanned across multiple floors and has sections for every kind of furniture, fixtures and decoration needs that you might have . One thing that they are missing is a rooftop restaurant. I can't recall if they originally had one or not but the rooftop looks gorgeous in the summer and I would love to sit down and chill out there if they ever want to open one (like some other states ) .The staff is helpful without breathing down your neck . The membership can be a good deal considering it brings down prices by a lot . read more

This store is OPEN! As they morphed from Restoration Hardware to RH, they upped the focus on design and interior decorating and eliminated the majority of small home decor items for which the previous version of this store was known. The new location on the north side of NW 23rd, right next to Pottery Barn, is quite the showplace! It's absolutely stunning! With four floors of show rooms, including the rooftop terrace with gorgeous all weather furniture pieces, fountains and planters, it's worth a visit just to check out the spectacular view! RH has a style - industrial modern - and their showroom floors showcase their large pieces of streamlined furniture, textiles, and exquisite lighting beautifully. This is not furniture for an 1800 square foot house! Their sectional couches are huge! As are their chandeliers, coffee tables and wall cabinets. For me, the decor would work best in a high end hotel lobby or very large, spacious house. While visiting yesterday, it was refreshing to see rooms done in cappuccino colors after seeing nothing but gray for so long. I'm not knocking gray, my own house has lots of gray and creams, but it's nice to have options in the neutral range. In addition to selling furniture, they are a design house and will work with you to design a new home, remodel or just refresh a room or two. Or if you are like me, and wondered in just to check out the new digs, they encourage you to browse. Price point is very high, but for the clientele they target, it's not a problem. While I don't have any of their furniture, my bathrooms are stocked in their Egyptian towels and robes, a splurge when I bought my new condo. That purchase put me on their distribution list for their 5 pound catalog that comes out twice a year. Make it stop! What a waste of trees and the poor postal service workers! It's literally as heavy as the old Yellow Pages Phone Book, for those of you old enough to remember. RH really needs to eliminate this unnecessary piece of marketing that immediately gets tossed into the recycle bin. We are RH veterans. We have been to stores throughout the US. We enjoy window shopping as much as purchasing. Our styles match most of the design concepts within the stores, not all but most. This store is unique as it's in a small market compared to Chicago, San Francisco and New York. For the area this store is very nice. The layout is good and the design follows most of the large market stores. It's a great place to walk through and take in the layouts. The shipping is standard RH. I saw several complaints and I too have had problems with delivery. Over the last year, deliveries have been up and down. Information on delivery has been a challenge. We are used to the wait for custom furniture, we are not used to the black hole of information on the shipping. BEWARE OF PREDATORY AUTORENEW ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE. I was charged for 7 years for a $200 annual fee. I did not realize I was being charged annually. Planned to buy furniture for my living room and asked that I be given the membership rate subsequent to it being closed after 7 years (my credit card was probably closed and RH no longer able to charge). Rohana the manager at the Portland store refused this very simple request after being charged $200 for 7 years. She obviously is being told by corporate to be very strict and said always believes in "doing the right thing". I asked if she believes doing the right thing is charging a consumer for 7 years a $200 membership fee ($1400) they never used and then not making an exception to allow them to get that rate after paying for 7 years. This review is purely for the rooftop garden, not their furniture. I love visiting RH in the cities that I travel. Their stores are ornate yet industrial, which I love. This rooftop is absolutely stunning! They have an indoor area that is heated with heated ceiling lamps and a completely outdoor area. If only they had coffee or a bar up there!! It already is the perfect place to hang out, but would be better if I had a tea in my hand! read more

This location is fantastic and the customer service is top-notch. Over the years I've collected a lot of pieces from this company (2 couches, a sectional, bed-frame, and outdoor set). They've all been so great and lasted exceptionally well over the years. The one piece I had an issue with was the sectional I ordered about 1.5 years ago. I decided to walk into the store to talk about it. Right away my questions were answered by Scott, and I was set up with an appointment with Rene, one of their top experts. She was incredibly prompt with dates and even came out to have a look at the piece! It turns out the sectional did have some issues so I was welcomed into the store for a meeting with Erin, who is one of their amazing designers. I was over the moon, and had such a great time working with Erin on the best solutions for a new sectional. Her attention to detail was exquisite. I'm so happy I chose Restoration Hardware as the foundation for my home design, and am excited to work with them in the future! These pieces will last and last and last, and if you happen to get a lemon, the design team is just incredible. I don't leave reviews that often, but this is one I had to do. read more

I get now why it's called a "gallery" and not a store. The web site shows products for sale such as beautiful blankets, but tacks on an additional $35 for shipping. I assumed I could save the shipping fee by visiting the brick and mortar store location) oh pardon me of course I mean the "gallery," la de daaah).. but I learned that 1) they don't carry the blanket I want in stock, and 2) they'll happily charge me the same $35 shipping fee as posted on their web site to ship the blanket to my home (and they simply don't ship items from their catalog to their store for customer pickup). Good to know. $35 seems like a super steep price for shipping a blanket; especially a $230 blanket (on sale at that price).. blankets aren't exactly heavy or fragile. This curious shipping policy is inconsistent with my experiences shopping at other businesses, which will generally offer free shipping for items advertised on the web site but not in stock in the brick and mortar location. Unfortunately, I am not surprised that you will take a month and a half to furnish a replacement part that failed. And I don't accept your apology. This experience so far, mirrors my original purchase, when RH couldn't deliver the correct size medicine cabinet that was ordered and did not have an available supply of the correct size, forcing me in the middle of my project to choose a second style that was and is not what I had wanted. Given the premium character and price of what you sell, I would have expected better performance from the finish of the faucet fixtures and the durability of the hinges on the aforementioned medicine cabinet (which I have not made an issue) but which are also clearly not holding up to use. read more

While I love the aesthetic of Restoration Hardware pieces, I'm extremely disappointed in the customer service especially given: - the fact that I spend $100 on a "membership" program - the amount of money my husband and I have invested in furniture/home improvement over the past few years through this store I recently stopped in as we are remodeling our bathroom, and I had a few items picked out online, that I wanted to see if they stocked in their showroom. It took a good 10 minutes for someone to give us the time of day, and after confirming they didn't have the items we were looking for onsite, the associate was extremely rude when I inquired about their expensive shipping in comparison to Pottery Barn, West Elm and was given a snarky remark to the tune of maybe you should shop elsewhere. Although I love their products, their in-store and over-the-phone customer service needs to drastically improve, or they're going to continue to lose customers. read more

Customer service here is an afterthought. Ordered my items and you gotta wait months for them to arrive. My couch has been in their local warehouse since last Friday. Soonest they can deliver is tomorrow Tuesday. I had an event at my home on Saturday and offered to come pick up myself, or pay an extra $1,000 to get it for event. Store manager said can't take care of customers like that. High priced merchandise, with bad service is not a good look. In New York, this place would get closed. Now their "delivery partner" called and gave me a 10 hour delivery window. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

This used to be a four star kind of place, maybe five if they could have got their act together when I ordered a sofa. That was a long time ago. They had all kinds of cool stuff for your home. I loved the lighting and the hardware, all kinds of cool things...sigh. Now it is mostly a furniture store, a few decorations, Don't get me wrong not all the furniture is bad, some is good. But there is a lot of furniture stores out there. Many of them better. Really, the only thing here that has really interesting for me for a while now, is the paint. Really appreciated Katie Lynn-AMAZING! To begin, I have old paper gift certificates and this can be so frustrating the process to use these if you call the 1-800# (this is more RH corporate issue not this store issue). I called in today and spoke with Katie Lynn and let her know I spoke to someone before who said you can enter these now as a paper certificate. She helped me with all of my questions on colors for towels and designs etc. While my purchase may not have been a large one compared to so many others who shop here the care I was given was top notch! She was patient, sweet and so on top of it. She took the time to ensure I was getting what I wanted. More importantly she confirmed all of my order to ensure we had everything and even better they will arrive just in time for a party I am having. Thank you RH and Katie Lynn. read more

I recently had a LOT of difficulty returning something here with a receipt. Even the manager would not correct this, although they easily found the transaction. At the end of it, I could not get money back, but a credit. Great, that's just what I want- to HAVE to buy something else or be forced to come back in the future to a store I view as very unfriendly. A look at the other reviews here show others experiencing similar difficulty with their return policy. Maybe someday they will learn from this. read more

The negative national reviews are unfortunately pretty accurate. The sales staff at this location are a little rude and customer service certainly is not paramount. Another issue I have with the company is that when purchasing a $350-450 table lamp, you need to pay another $30 or $40 to have the item shipped to the store. I spoke with the national call center and they say that it is up to each individual store to wave the shipping cost. It is just out of principle that I will not pay the fee. I think the price of their items are often a little on the high side. If someone is willing to purchase their product, the least they could do is ship it to the store for you to pick it up. I've bought a few pieces here recently, and while the quality and style is exactly what I'm looking for, their inventory management and availability stinks! My most recent purchase was a very unique and classy floor lamp, and after going through the whole ordering process and getting excited about the lamp, it wasn't until the order was placed that I learned the lamp would arrive a week later (Yea!) and the lamp shade is on back order for 3 months (huh?!?). I just paid that much for a lamp that is going to sit without a shade for 3 months? So, naturally, I reached out to customer service to see what the deal is, but they only accept emails through their site and don't actually respond. I can't tell if its intentional pretentiousness or accidental. Well, if you like their quality and somewhat uniqueness, try someplace like Bella Casa or Bedford Brown instead. This is a great place to find either great quality products or (if you can't afford to actually buy) a great store to generate ideas and inspirations for your home. They have "hardware" such as hooks, hinges, latches, etc, they carry bathwares (anything from tubs to towels and everything in between), lighting options, curtains, bedding, and even furniture. What sets Restoration Hardware apart from its competitors aside from its clean, classic line of products is that you can find the best in furniture and bedding, as well as in the real nuts & bolts of assembling a home or room to your exact specifications and style preference....After all if life is in the details, then the details really matter and no store seems to recognize that as well as Restoration Hardware. read more

We love the new gallery on 23rd, and even though they don't have any nursery furniture Katie-Lynn was very helpful, she showed us the swatches and helped us order a crib, dresser+topper, and a bookcase. This would have been a 5 Star review based on that experience. The problems started after that, first there was a problem with the RH ordering system which caused our order to be delayed a week. 2 weeks later the furniture was ready to be delivered, our 2 hour delivery window was between 5 and 7pm. The delivery guys were 30 minutes early, rung the door bell, but were gone already when I opened the door. There was no call ahead of time to say that they're on their way, so it took me a bit to get to the door. I called the operator who promised me that they'll deliver that day. They came back an hour later, upset with an excuse that they went to get lunch. They moved the furniture in without much care. Since the crib didn't fit through the door way they had to disassemble it in the truck. The result was a crib, with 2 screws that were not fastened, 2 screws missing, and damage on the corners. A drawer of the dresser didn't close. Their way of fixing it was to slam the drawer close a bunch times. That obviously didn't fix it. The topper was also not fastened to the dresser. They promised me someone would contact me to fix the furniture. Nobody did. I called RH myself, and while the person on the phone was nice she couldn't help me. Someone would contact me in a week to schedule a time to fix the issues. I called again the next week, that person ordered a replacement crib to fix the damage. 2 weeks later I was contacted to fix the dresser, by that time I already found the issue and fixed it myself. I was also contacted with a 2 hour delivery window to deliver the replacement crib. That crib never came, we waited at home for nothing. When I called the delivery company they said the replacement crib was damaged, when I called RH they told me that the crib was under extra quality review. Who knows whats true. At least the person on the phone ordered the crib hardware, which is now in transit. Nice furniture, but the "white glove" delivery is complete crap. No proactive communication. No support from them whatsoever. We are really disappointed and won't be buying RH furniture again. read more

We have been looking for a new couch for a few months and haven't been able to find anything, but today sparked some pretty high stoke and hope and it was all thanks to Laura. From the time we walked in the door to the last few seconds, we felt taken care of and guided on our search in the warmest, most noninvasive way. We needed a new sofa, rug, and coffee table for our living room. We shopped around for a few months at different furniture stores, before finally settling on the cloud modular set at Restoration Hardware. I had read the yelp reviews before visiting this location, and I place a premium on customer service. I was completely ready to walk out and give them the finger if I was treated poorly. Two other yelpers had commented on using Renato Radu to help them with their purchase. When our family walked into this location, we were greeted by a sales associate, who then expertly helped us design the perfect living room arrangement. As we were about to close the purchase, I asked him for his name. Who else but the aforementioned Renato Radu! Thanks to his experience, training, and level of service, we now have the perfect living room arrangement. Restoration Hardware, I truly hope that you realize how valuable an employee like Renato is worth. Crappy and/or elitist service to me means that I will take my business elsewhere. On the contrary, our excellent experience with Renato and his design expertise means that I will be back for future purchases. As for the furniture delivery, my only criticism is that they give you a very narrow window of delivery. For example, they call you on a Tuesday and let you know that you can receive the furniture on Wednesday between 3:30 to 5:30pm. If you tell them that you can't make this time work, then they say they will call you another day, and then give you another very narrow delivery window. It took a few tries, but we eventually got the furniture delivered. The two delivery men were courteous and respectful, and handled the furniture carefully. They were both very professional. Parking is limited, but they do have their own reserved parking lot which is a big plus. read more

You need only look at the store window to know that it will cost you a pretty penny when you enter. I still enter. Upon entering you are greeted with a friendly staff,. He/she hands you their catalog, tells you there's a sale and to enjoy your shopping. You almost feel 1M richer. Every thing is perfectly placed, the lighting strikes at the right items. I always feel like i'm daydreaming as I walk through this store. And it's paradise when they have a huge sale. Their sales are good! Don't get me wrong, the products here are expensive, and they don't apologize for it. You do get the quality you pay for, so keep that in mind. The bathroom items are off the roof, but you do get what you pay for. Very few sales ever occur for these items, so stick with the catalog for purchasing. Ironically, their hardware items are fairly reasonable and their designs will set your house a part from all the cookie cutters on your street. read more

This is one of the few businesses that still exist with excellent customer service. I just bought the St. James bedroom collection and a complete set of bedding to go with it. Twenty days later I received a 20% off friends and family email. I called the store to see if they do price adjustments (knowing it was a long shot with the way customer service is these days.) Much to my surprise, the young man I spoke with was cheerful and nice and said it was no problem at all. They asked if I would be available in an hour so the person who does the price adjustments could call me when her shift started. She called me exactly when the young man said she would. After deciding that my restoration hardware "802 gram turkish cotton towel" has finally been washed and probably had its weight halved through 7 years of washing, i decided that it was time to get a new pair. the lady at the store saw that i was looking at towels, and took out a huge swatch of different colors for towels. i had no idea they sold all these colors year round! turns out that it seems that they just put display towels that match the general color tone of the rest of the store's decor. the lady was very helpful, also gladly finding a replacement towel after the scrutinizing eyes of my mother saw a very small loose thread on the bath towel. if this store doesn't deserve 5 stars, the towels alone do! read more

Worst customer service I've experienced. We have been standing at the cash register for 20 minutes. The two employees at the store are with customers. I understand... but as they go get materials to show the customers. They don't even acknowledge our presence. I literally asked if they can please check us out. "Sorry I'm with a customer." I get it. I don't really shop at RH at all, but they had two items I wanted so I checked out the new store on 23rd. *Its NOT a "store"; and I couldn't handle the pretentious sales lady say "we are a GALLERY" one more time... whats the point?! They carry almost nothing in stock and then tell you they have to ship your items (and I mean small items, not furniture). After she told me "we don't have that *in the gallery*, she offered to 'show me the items on the computer screen'. *giant eye roll. I left immediately. Waited around for my daughters dresser. Box arrived damaged so no shock the dresser was damaged as well. The guy said well it's a small scratch do you want it? Not a scratch... a large hole. Really need to stay away from this company as a whole. I purchased a couched $5k. For $5k you think you would get a whole and working nice couch. WRONG! I'm on my 2nd couch and 8months later. Still no full couch. Not to mention they are charging my card for money not on the bill. They didn't do that once, they did it 3 times. I keep calling to get the money back, then the next day their system charges me again. I've spoken with managers at the store. HAYLEY - SO rude. Totally not empowered to help. Ordered an entire suite of bedroom furniture with accessories. There were so many quality problems with multiple pieces that we returned ALL of the furniture. Yes, there are homes in the West Hills, Lake Oswego, and West Linn large enough to accommodate RH's massive furniture, but for the typical beautiful "old" Oregon home, forget it. I long for the old RH, where you could buy items in the store (even cans of paint!) and take them home, and the furniture was more modestly sized to fit the homes most people live in. read more

Great customer service experience with Renato as well as the other associates. Similar to another reviewer I had an issue with an order that I was a bit worked up about. Renato was patient and solved the situation with a wonderful, calm, friendly manner. In addition, I have proved to be a client that needed support in ordering other pieces. Renato worked with me for hours to give me advice and help me through the choices. He is a pleasure to work with. Please note that the store has changed so I think if you know that this store is no longer similar to Pottery Barn in their model and you will have to order the items you will not be disappointed. read more

The other negative reviews here are CORRECT. There is no customer service, just sales. Once they have your money, they are done. I bought two items in the store and a third that was not available was "ordered" for me by the clerk. Needless to say, the charge for it came through on my credit card, but I never received it. And, like many others, my call asking about it has resulted in NOTHING. "I'll call you back and let you know" from Restoration Hardware means "I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear this." The only thing to do with this company is to escalate. Contact third-party regulatory agencies such as Consumer Protection, BBB etc. When you closely examine the merchandise, it's poorly-made stuff anyway. Don't buy it in the first place. read more
