We were expecting more smooth swift movements that applies pressure but also soothes. We've had our fair share of massages and I just had a prenatal massage at another place and it was a much more luxurious and typical massage. I had originally thought it was because I was getting a prenatal massage but my friend also felt the exact same way, so I think it's just the technique here. I did feel comfortable though. They gave me a pillow to grasp onto and also a leg pillow to give me pregnancy support. I was also leaning on my side the whole time. it is important to note that they don't have one of those contraptions that allows a pregnant woman to lay belly down where the belly hangs over this hole. The other prenatal massage place I went to had that contraption, but red moon wellness seems that unsafe. Overall it was a "safe" massage, so that they don't induce labor or something else but it didn't really feel like a massage.

The masseuse was either pouring huge amounts of oil on my body for some parts or just aggressively rubbing my skin for others. He was massaging painful joint points & areas most avoid. He even got oil in my eye. I do not believe these therapists are licensed or trained, avoid at ALL costs and save your money. WORST experience in nyc.

There was def miscommunication between the bookings, confirming appts, and the website. Basically if you're booking a couples massage don't use the site. It's more for single bookings in my opinion. However Bianca, was so nice--she was able to accommodate us for another date (which we were fine with) at no charge. She calmed me down a lot being that I'm 9 months pregnant. Super sweet and just went beyond. So upon arriving for our actual appts--Bianca greeted us right away. Took our coats and we were led upstairs within 5 mins. They offered tea or water. They provided us robes/slippers and our own little cubby with a lock and key. We waited maybe 5 more mins after we got dressed --then we got taken upstairs. Very calming inside for sure. Andrew was superb! The best. Abs book with him. He was great. For a prenatal massage I felt amazing afterwards. He informed me that there will be times he's going to ask about guidance specifically the hips since that's where I'm bothered the most being that pregnant people can really only sleep on their sides. Never had such a good foot and calf massage. $120 for everything before I tipped $40 on top. Even $160 all in for 105minute treatment is great value. While checking in I was able to browse the front space which is a storefront selling bags, decor, homeopathic remedies, incense and jewelry. I was then escorted to the back waiting room until my appointment started. The space is beautiful and I LOVE all the African decor. Anthony my acupuncturist was very thorough with my assessment prior to starting the treatment. It was not painful at all and I appreciate his constant communication throughout the treatment. After my appointment, I was invited back to the waiting area and given a delicious anti-inflammatory tea to drink while I sat and decompressed.
