I hate leaving bad reviews, but my experience at this place was so awful I feel like I need to - I have concerns about the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility. The scheduling was difficult & staff was very unprofessional & made you feel like you did something wrong. The room I received the IV in was very crowded and cluttered. It did not seem like a clean medical facility where you would get an IV. The nurse was very nervous and seemed inexperienced. There were issues with the IV functioning correctly, my arm was covered in blood and I felt liquid from the IV dripping down my arm so the IV had to be removed. When I questioned if I should come back another time. The nurse said well the bag's been open so we would have to charge you for it even though she was not able to successfully do the IV because of her lack of skill. Long story short - the whole situation was very concerning & unprofessional. Not the relaxing energy boost that you would expect from an IV service. Stay away.... read more

STAY FAR, FAR AWAY! I made an appointment and received both an email and text confirmation and reminder for my appointment but when I got there, they said they were closing soon and wouldn't take me. I showed them both confirmations and the lady unwillingly said fine she'll take me as the last one (the receptionist was also the aesthetician, should've knew it was a red flag). Why make an appointment with me for that time if you were closing soon?? The entire time, she told me she couldn't do it for me (a lash lift) since my lashes were short (isn't that the whole point of the lash lift though) but said she'll do me "a favor" and do it anyway and try because it "might" work. I noticed no difference after paying almost $100 for it. After the treatment she said to me, "see I told you it wouldn't work" and tried to blame it on me. If you knew, then why say you could do it anyway and charge me for something knowing it wouldn't do anything? A professional would not do something just to earn the money when they're aware it wouldn't help the customer. She kept trying to sell me this serum or whatever it and obviously at this point I was skeptical so I asked it I could take a picture of it or get the name of it so I can google it and she literally hid the bottle behind her back and said NO. Possibly the worst customer service experience I had in my entire life. They were closed so I called in. A woman who picked up the phone with a strong accent didn't seem to understand me so she decided to just hang up on me. I waited 5 min and called again. If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been getting botox regularly for 10 years, and was beyond shocked by the experience I had. She truly should not be in business. I felt uncomfortable the entire time, and should have listened to my gut. There were needles spread everywhere on her tray. I didn't know what was clean and what was dirty. The needle she used on me was bent, and continued using it. She gave me a welt on my forehead that lasted for two weeks, and a bruise I could not cover up for two weeks. I went in three weeks later, at the time she requested, and she said I had to wait 30 minutes. Again. I got my regular 80 units, after 6 weeks it looks like nothing was put in my face. Literally nothing. To her comment below, it's completely false and a lie. She did my forehead first. She also told me I bought too much and I didn't even need 80 units. I had to go somewhere else and get it done again. Another 80 units. What normally takes less than 5 minutes to inject took her around 45 minutes. Also, had to wait almost an hour for my apt. Office is small but cute. The orange couch was comfy, i signed in at 5:45pm for a 6pm. I had 3 appts, 2 of which were canceled so they called me to see if i could've made it today at 6 which was cool. I waited about 3 mins when rosa ( i think thats her name called me). I had the velashape which was good i just wished they would've explained the process to me at first. The lady was nice the procedure was easy n i was done in about 30mins. The only thing is the office seem to be disorganize and have a language barrier. I wanted to reschedule my 3rd appt but someone else interrupted me while i was dealing with the receptionist (she needed to reschedule as well) and the receptionist completely forgot why i was even standing there (she just spaced out n forgot i was there). after rescheduling the girl that interrupted me she asked me "hi can i help you? would u like to reschedule?" then another lady came in a heavy accent asked me to sign something on a board, and i asked her "what am i signing?" And she responded "ooh just sign that you got a Brazilian done" and i responded "ummmm i didnt get a brazilian done and ya need to get it together!" As i reschedule they were trying to figure out who was who and which one was next, etc etc After i complete my 2 other sessions i doubt ill come back. 1/26/19: (Original) I got along with the esthetician, Tanya, well. She was a bit scattered and didn't have all the steps ready. However the appointment took longer (1.5 hours) than I've had at other lash lift salons. She seemed to have forgotten about me and left the perm to cure for longer than the recommended time. My lash are only slightly lifted. Many people say that they hardly notice the difference. 2/10/19: (Update) I originally left a 3 star review. Howeveit has been approximately 2 weeks and my lift has faded completely. While this location is cheaper than others due to frequent promotions and coupons, it is not worth it. I would rather spend more money for a better lash lift. Typically, lash lifts for me last between 6-8 weeks however, this place had a mediocre lift for 15 days. In addition, I found that some of my lashes bend left or right rather than falling to its natural shape. I'm very disappointed in the appearance of my lashes. read more

AVOID THIS "SPA" AT ALL COSTS! Luba was the tech that performed the procedure. Long story short, this place REUSES the same tubing on each client. The same tubing that has feces. I went for a colon hydrotherapy session at Downtown City Spa 2 months ago located on 139 Fulton in Manhattan. After this procedure I asked the technician where she put the tubing from my procedure. She repeatedly told me she put it in the garbage can. Both her and I looked in garbage and it was not in there. There were 4 people before me meaning there should have been 4 tubes in garbage. The tech repeatedly lied and became defensive about putting the tubing in the garbage can, making up new excuses and lies each time. Out of the 2 garbage cans in the room there was absolutely no tubes in any garbage. I found my tubing, still wet and coiled up in the Same packaging. The package was placed back on the shelf and not in the garbage. The manager stated to me, "It's a groupon, you expect too much." She also stated that the tubing is very expensive for them. I called DOH and the police. Before the police arrived, they took the reused tubing and put it in the garbage can under the sink in their break room. read more

My friend & I decided to book a lash lift through Groupon and ran into Downtown City Spa. I naturally have long curled lashes, but I was looking for a dramatic look which I got before from a lash lift. Let me start off my saying it took forever to book an appointment, but after several calls they accommodated us with a Sun appt so we decided to give it a shot. I went in first... the girl who did the lash lift did seem friendly. Once she was done I did see a slight difference but not the dramatic results I was hoping for... My friend on the other hand had NO RESULTS whatsoever! The lady even noticed it herself and mentioned that she will bring it to the managers attention. We then left. By the time I got home, my lashes completely deflated! There were NO RESULTS at all. Highly disappointing! I took a picture and decided to reach out to them! After consulting another cosmetologist she explained that it most likely didn't work because THEIR PRODUCTS ARE EXPIRED! Let me start by saying that their manager clearly needs to find another career choice! She has terrible customer service and is clearly not fit to run a business, she seems very money centered. I reached out to her explaining the huge inconvenience we had to go through... According to her the results were good and that I should just put on some mascara. A total joke! The reason for the lash lift lady was so I don't have to put on mascara! She then continued to say that apparently I don't believe the technician deserves a salary... do I not deserve to get what I paid for? After continuous back and forth with the greedy unprofessional manager, she then agrees to issue the refund. She says that I need to contact Groupon and then they will issue it. I called Groupon and they actually said the complete opposite, that the merchant needs to reach out. I messaged the manager to do so several times & she then decided to ignore my messages. Worst Spa I have ever been to. I bought a groupon and when I called for Dysport they said they didn't have it but could call the woman and see if she would bring some when she showed up for work. Bring some from where? That should have been enough for me to cancel but I already had the groupon so I went. Its the sketchiest "spa" you've ever seen. Its filthy and disorganized with things all over the place that have nothing to do with their business. Its like they have used this as a crash pad + botox scam office. When they started my "treatment" the two women were arguing with one another which made me uneasy and then the "assistant" seemed she had never done this before and Nana had to keep giving her instruction over and over. She then said she was going to give me extra botox for my eyes for $35. When I went to check out, she said it would be $75 for the extra botox. When I objected, she said OK "55 dollars". Since I was now thoroughly terrified they were going to cut out my organs, I paid and left. They definitely dilute the botox and I have seen no change to my skin whatsoever. DO NOT GO HERE. This place is the worst!! Every time I come here I regret it, I am just waiting to finish my last couple of pre paid services and I will never return. They never answer the phone and even when I have emailed them, I had to email at least 3 times before getting a response after putting URGENT in the subject. Whenever I come I either wait 30 minutes for my appointment, never acknowledged, they have lost my file numerous times- tip: look for it BEFORE I come in so it's ready. The women are rude and hardly talk to you, it's obvious they are talking about you in Russian and even when running late they take their time. Is this place a joke? I purchased a Lifebooker deal for one year of laser hair removal and tried for days to set up an appointment. Nobody picked up the two phones they had for DAYS. No worries - I left several messages asking them to call me back. Yep, no callbacks. When someone finally picked up, I was on hold for 20 fucking minutes before finally hanging up. You'd think that when someone calls your failing business (which already has 1 star on Yelp) for a procedure, you'd get off your ass and cater to the client who's willing to fork over her cash. The one time they picked up, nobody even asked me which day I was available - they only kept putting me on hold in between talking to each other in Russian. Overall, the service here could be handled better by monkeys. I don't know which Russian oligarch gave his wife this salon, but she clearly doesn't care about making a profit. I only trust Nana with my skin. I've always had acne-prone skin and she knows how to get it under control. I go to her for facials, microdermabrasion and IPL laser -- shes the best! I've been seeing her for years now and she's the only person I trust with my skin and has 100% healed my acne. You just have to listen to what she recommends for how to take care of your skin and follow through! Kept an open mind, despite the bad reviews. It took a day to get through to a receptionist (email never returned) which is shorter than others' experiences in wait time. I was able to book my appointment the following day, and to their credit they accommodated a time change day of. That said, you are not given an option in the gender of the masseuse. I had a male who was using his phone the entire time, sprawled on the couch, and barely greeted me. He said "hi" and continued on with his mobile phone. My massage was so bizarre. He only massaged my backside. I asked if he could use both oil and lotion and grumbled and used only oil. I asked him to go softer and he chuckled. This was after he was pinching my skin in an incredibly strange and painful way. After an hour, he said "finished" and left like a bat out of hell. I was so stunned that I thought he was coming back because his departure was so sudden and abrupt. Realized he wasn't coming back, and my back was still drenched with oil (no lotion)! I have read all the recent reviews and before I post mine I want to point out to the Groupon gripers that many spas on Groupon inflate their prices to then give an apparent discount. This place does not do that. You can buy via Groupon or directly from their site which is linked from Groupon. Nothing is hidden. Up to you. Do your research. Their prices are incredibily reasonable. And there is no first customer only limits. As to everyone who complains about the phone not being answered or appointments being messed up, their website is where you make, change or cancel appointments. They say this clearly on the site. It is a very simple and reliable system. They don't charge you for changes or cancellations like many places. As to those who refer to poor English or speaking in a 'foreign' language, shame on you. FYI the USA does not actually have an official language. They can speak Russian to each other if they want. Finally there is no upselling here. They provide professional advice. If they think an alternative or additional treatment would be better for you they tell you. You don't have to accept their advice. Yes they can be disorganised but I've never been to any spa or salon that runs like clockwork. (My hairdresser kept me waiting 30 minutes today with no apology. Does it annoy me? Only if I let it and I don't as it achieves nothing). I've had several IPL treatments here and they were professionally done. And that is the most important thing. read more

I basically hate this place. The people are nice enough, but they are not accommodating and it probably isn't their fault. They always have deals, but if they had less deals or dealt with the deal people better, they might have a few regulars. This is supposed to be a spa, not a burger joint. There is the possibility of repeat, full-price paying clients. Before making my purchase, I called them, asked about availability and then bought my Lifebooker Loot. I then tried to call back over and over and over again over weeks to book the appt (I couldn't book before without my Loot info). I'd planned this out so that I could get my facials a couple of days before traveling. This was in February. I finally contacted Lifebooker for a refund and was called back by someone at this "spa". Previously, I was told someone would call me back, but no one actually did it until I reached out to Lifebooker. Magically, they suddenly have room for me. This is on March 23rd. I get an appointment that they somehow forget about. When I show up, I'm not actually booked. But they take me anyway. They're nearby, so I consider making this a place where I have a standing appointment. When my 15 minutes of treatment is over, they schedule me for a date in May. I call back today to move my appointment by a couple of days since I now have a business trip to go on. This is 29 days before my scheduled appointment for a service that takes like 20 minutes. They have no availability. I've been there before. How is it possible that they have no availability. So, I am now scheduled for May 19th. Never. Again. read more

I've been getting laser hair removal at DCS for two years now. They are awesome. They are a no-BS kind of place. They offer extremely great deals and consequently are going to get you in and out quickly and get the job done right. I've recommended friends and they also love it. Let me start off by saying I have gotten Microneedling done over 5 times at a different spa so I know what the steps and processes are. I made the mistake of getting a groupon to save some money on microneedling and you truly get what you pay for. I decided I wanted to purchase the numbing cream because where I usually get my microneedling its included, so I wanted to stick with what I knew. She put the numbing cream on and then went ahead and put plastic over my face, mind you she's not even concerned about my eye, nose and lips area where this numbing cream can spread too SPECIFICALLY MY EYES. Then after putting this plastic over my face, she proceeds to cut holes with a rusted scissor for my eyes nose and lips. JESUS CHRIST I WAS SCREAMING ON THE INSIDE. I was trying to make conversation and asked how long has she had experience with microneedling, I didn't get a direct answer, she went from 5 to 3 to 2 years??????? Oh also let me mention she put the numbing cream on after she had put rubbing alcohol all over my face. HELLO?! SKIN CARE 101 who the hell uses rubbing alcohol on someones face?!!. After only 15 minutes of having this numb cream and plastic over my face, she proceeds to only take half of the plastic wrap off and wipes the numbing cream off. I told her I don't feel numb. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE POINT OF ME BUYING NUMBING CREAM IF MY FACE ISN'T NUMB?!. now my face is dry and she's about to start the procedure. From MY experience, an aesthecian usually will put something on your face so the pen can glide .... I also understand people have different levels and tolerance for pain, I will say my pain tolerance is very high having piercings and tattoos, but this wasn't normal. In the beginning she put the pen on dry and I was trying to just be a tough cookie and take it but I couldn't and I explained to her that she should put a serum on my face or something to glide the pen, and I proceeded to ask her if she actually knew what she was doing, because it truly didn't seem like it at all. she then put hyaluronic acid serum to glide the pen, but of course this as after I had to tell her. I literally cannot believe that I bought this groupon, bought the numb cream for nothing, and tipped this person. Usually when you get microneedling you have to glide and she wasn't doing that. this is absolutely insane. just from start to finish. oh and she then cleaned my face with rubbing alcohol after the microneedling session. like what is my life right now?!?!! can you imagine?! she also put a scrunched up wet napkin over my eyes during this entire process. They burned and scared my face. I came in one year ago for an IPL facial and they burned my face. Leaving me with inch wide dark stripes on my face and neck. Even after I said that it felt too hot and uncomfortable the woman assured me that there wasn't a reaction. After they insisted that I come back for micro needling. During the sessions another worker would insist that I purchase prescription creams from her for an additional $100 each. When I asked what the creams were so I could have my dermatologist prescribe the creams to me and I use my health insurance since now my face was badly wounded and scared it's covered by my insurance as a medical necessity. But no she said "if you get those creams somewhere else we can't treat you". And rudely asked why I didn't tip the worker who SCARD my face. With the help of my licensed dermatologist my skin has cleared up a lot. Still one year later my cheeks and neck are scared. And it's still hard to look at myself in the mirror. read more
