The short story of a very intense and time-sucking battle. We had to go all the way to small claims court before they adjusted their $12, 000+ bill back to the $5000+K the insurance company deemed correct. They charged for items that were never there, attempted to charge covid cleaning fees that equated to $1000/hr., and to charge for a job that was for a space much larger than the square footage they worked on. When we called them on it they reorganized the bill, increasing other items to compensate for their corrected items, changing the line price on items TWICE. Javier S. was very helpful, caring, resourceful and went beyond the call of duty from beginning to end to help with my Mom's bathroom due to water damage. He made sure our family was safe by making sure to test for asbestos, and when we found out there was asbestos in the walls, he had an asbestos abatement Team remove the bottom of the walls and the tiles since they were affected by the water damage. Manuel and Javier R also helped remove the cabinet due to water damage. Lots of fans and dehumidifiers were set up to ensure everything was fully dried out. Restorerz completed a very small job at my condo (just drying up water with equipment for a week); The bill was expected between $2-3k based on local market rates for this type of the work. The bill I received was nearly $15,000. While a worked to dispute the bill, their team threatened to file a Contractor's Lien on my property. I learned later this was not even a legal threat as they did not have a CA Contractor's License at time of the work but acquired it months later. Their tone was very aggressive and intimidating as they tried to get me to move quickly and settle at a high cost. It took me nearly 4 months and threats of legal action to get their pricing down to about $5,500 (still out of market but something I could stomach).
