Restorerz breached the contract. Our belongings were effectively held hostage and subject to conversion. On 12/31/24, our home suffered a water leak and flood. After shutting off the water, we contacted a plumbing company that recommended Restorerz. They arrived for mitigation and proposed an all-inclusive package: packing out our belongings, storing them in climate-controlled units, and returning them when the house was ready. Restorerz began removing items from the home to start mitigation. It soon became clear they sought ongoing control over our belongings, emptying additional rooms under the guise of "mitigation." They billed our homeowners insurance, K76, for mitigation only, with charges grossly inflated. Our insurer itemized the bill, showing more than a 50% overcharge. The policy clearly states there should be no such overcharges to the insured. When we realized we were being scammed, we hired a lawyer. The owner told us, "We can make your life difficult for hiring an attorney without asking us" From that point, Restorerz intensified pressure: allegedly billing the insurance, threatening to impose a lien on our house, and demanding that we pay the remaining balance. The insurance paid approximately K40 to Restorerz for mitigation, and about K50 separately for packing out, storage, and return of belongings. Since July 2025, there have been numerous attempts by Attorney and adjuster to obtain the return of our belongings, but Restorerz has not complied. Instead, they have demanded that we pick up our items at our own expense and sign a letter waiving risk of loss or damage--claims they allegedly advised at the time of pack-out. This is not true; they had assured our belongings would be kept in climate-controlled storage, but actually we learned they were keeping in their warehouse. The house is ready for occupancy, but we have no essential living items, and none of our belongings have been returned. BBB reviews indicate similar complaints from other customers. read more

This place is a scam. I recommend that you stay away from this place. They come to your place and then tell you that you have mold, and then before any work gets done, they tell you that there is a 50% chance that insurance will cover the repairs. We asked them that we would move forward if and only if insurance would cover us. They took advantage of my elderly parents and assured them that they had experience dealing with insurance companies, and claimed to take care of my parents. My parents trusted them, and they started doing work and ripped up their flooring when it was not necessary. When my parents asked for scope of work before it began, they did not provide this and told them to "trust them" and gave us the "we'll take good care of you". They kept on telling my parents they wouldn't start work unless they signed the paperwork without an estimated scope. When we received the itemized bill that was submitted to the insurance companies, they overbilled for hours they did not work, and for dumb things like hepa filters, tape and paper? Really? When insurance denied the claim they submitted for my parents, my parents approached them and told them we would pay out of pocket for what was actually done. They overbilled hours and damaged things. When we were discussing the payment, they literally packed their stuff up and left and told them they would not complete the work until they paid, and they would put a lien on my parents house. When they approached them about the hours, they played the "we're being nice so we'll skim a little off the price". We even have video footage of them lying about the hours they worked. from our security guard gate. Don't use them and be cautious. They are shady and that's an understatement and being nice. These guys seem like con artists. I had a flood in my bathroom. These guys came in and immediately were saying I needed a whole new bathroom and they needed to start immediately. I got a second opinion. The second guy told me to wait a few days to see if the bathroom dried out. It did. I had my home insurance come check things out and they told me Retorerz is known for always trying to oversell people on damage. They tried telling me if I didn't start work immediately my insurance would probably not cover due to negligence. I just got a bad vibe from them. read more

I used Restorerz last month when my neighbor's broken shower pan caused a leak into our laundry room. As a responsible homeowner, I take pride in proper maintenance and upkeep. In a bazillion (is that a word?) years, I would have never fathomed having to hire a "clean up crew" to help at my house. But then in November of 2022, the "unthinkable" happened and it all started with a little hissing sound that I had never heard before. Needless to say, I discovered the sound just before bedtime and couldn't determine an immediate culprit so I decided to go to bed and deal with it in the morning. Boy, was that a mistake. Let me explain why... The next day, I was like a rabid dog trying to find the source of that weird little hissing noise. After exhausting all of my "common sense" ideas, I decided to get on my hands and knees and put my ear to the hardwood floor. Eureka! I could tell it was definitely something water related, and I could also tell it was happening under my house. Needless to say, I contacted a "leak detector" who came right out. He investigated and determined that yup, a teeny little pinhole had burst through my hot water pipe and water spewed under my house all night!! The Leak Detector told me that I needed a good plumber to fix the pipe, and he also explained that I would need a Restoration company, and he suggested Restorerz. Of course, I immediately contacted a plumber who repaired the pipe lickety split. I also contacted Restorerz and they sent a project manager named Javier who was kind, patient and thorough. He explained that the underbelly of my house was soaked, muddy, and quite troublesome. My subfloor was also soaked and my insulation was destroyed. I asked him for an estimate and he let me know that the incident was quite significant and that I'd likely have to get my Home Insurer involved. He set up a second appointment with an entire crew for the next day to get started on the clean up. The next day, as promised, a whole crew showed up in hazmat suits. Industrial drying fans were strewn inside my house to help my hardwood floors dry out from any possible water intrusion. The crew vacuumed-out as much of the water as they could, and they filled countless bags with muddy/soaked/ruined insulation. this was a multi-day cleanup with an entire crew of dedicated, knowledgeable, compassionate staff. I couldn't believe the debris that they had collected. I simply have never seen anything like it. I praised one of the young men as my eyes welled up with tears and he was so sweet when he replied that "Helping people like me makes it all worthwhile. He likes helping people". That's exactly what o needed in that moment. At some point, I had a total meltdown and Javier was right there offering up his shoulder and a hug as I grasped the enormity of the situation. My toilet overflowed creating a pretty severe sewage flood on the lower floor of my house. I called Restorez and was pleasantly surprised when they showed up immediately on site. Nick walked me through understanding the damage in a factual, professional way - it must have been difficult because I was in shock. For example he told me that I would have to remove the lower 3 feet of sheetrock from the walls. When I asked him about this he patiently showed me how he made that assessment. Showed me the instrument he used. Pointed it at a known wet area, then a known dry area so I could get it calibrated mentally, then used it to show me the damage to the drywall which was not visible to the naked eye. Nick also helped me immediately with the insurance claim - based on his experience working with my specific insurer. He knew exactly what they would want in terms of documentation, and Restorez collected it and filed it all on my behalf. He walked me through how much, at max, I could expect to pay out of pocket (although in the end I paid $0 out of pocket) before starting any work. The Restorez team was on site the day after I called to do the demolition and drying out. They hauled away all the ripped out carpets and walls. It took a week but when they left my house no longer smelled like a sewer. In that time the Restorez team was responsive to my many texts. In the end, they were knowledgeable, professional, very straight to the point but yet were able to hold my hand through the process. I hope to never need their services again!
