This was a…read moredifficut visit for me because I have a condition called Macular Dystrophy and I've experienced some vision issues. I was in meltdown leading up to the appointment and I have to say I loved Dr. Amini. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and concerned. I really liked my previous specialist, but after meeting Dr. Amini, I'm actually happy with the change. While most of the news was not necessarily good, he talked to me and actually educated me about some things, offered some suggestions that may help and made me aware of a genetic study that he was aware of and that he would see if I might be able to participate in and get free genetic testing. There was definitely more discussion about options than I had before and the delivery was really nice. The ONLY negative was I was there like THREE hours. It was 40 minutes before I was dilated, then over an hour before I was called back and another 15 minute wait to even see him. On the one hand, this is frustrating. On the other hand, I appreciate his thoroughness with his patients and I'm sure taking time to really get to know me and talk to me is why it takes so long as I could hear him with another patient before me and I'm guessing he spent time with them just like he did with me. Life is too short to be in a rush and I had nowhere to be anyway, but maybe they need to schedule less patients? I could see how some people might be angry with that experience. I'm just happy to have this new doctor and hope that he is able to help me get some answers and help me through this experience.

Dr. Frank Hwang does not play around and he's straight to the point. He's thorough and consistently gives me updates on my eye health. I especially appreciate that he conducts mapping tests and eye exams all in one day! Dr. Hwang is a true professional, and Loma Linda is lucky to have him. I also wanted to shoutout Jessica (the office coordinator) she's always super supportive, friendly and caring. I had to get a Corneal Cross-linking done here and she helped me find the necessary resources to ensure I got the procedure rolling. Dr, Hwang and his staff seriously care about people's health! The facility is always clean and easy to find. As soon as you walk into the Loma Linda Clinic/Office building it's a slight curve to the right and straight ahead. I highly recommend this office as they have up-to-date imaging and advanced technology. There's satellite clinics for the Eye Institute, but I recommend booking here as this is where all the main imaging and tests are ran.

After two days of continued irritation I was concerned enough to call and inquire about an appointment before the long Thanksgiving weekend, and was fortunate to get one same day. I must confess that I was a little apprehensive as I had never heard of the available doctor, but I was experiencing enough discomfort to give it a shot. Enter Dr. Marina Awadalla, O.D. I could not have had a more positive experience! Dr. Awadalla is congenial, knowledgeable, extremely kind, and very thorough. I am thankful (pun intended!) on this Thanksgiving Eve that I was fortunate enough to receive care from such a consummate professional. I would be remiss if I did not mention Jackie, a simply amazing assistant with the requisite personality and all of the professional qualities of anyone dedicated to medical care. Today I took my favorite reading glasses in to see if they could repair the nose piece or reproduce the exact prescription. I was greeted by friendly people at the front desk who looked at my glasses and with a smile said we can fix this in a flash. They did and bonus, didn't charge me because I was a returning customer. I was willing to pay whatever and I am so appreciative that my favorite glasses are as good as new.
