Did not intend to come, but still felt compelled to step in and join - even if there was no place left to sit when we came at peak time. Was able to sit down as the night grew later. Normally a busy small space would have me walking away, but the energy said come in. I'm so glad we did. I had drinks and danced to those singing, and it was easy to make friends. This place vibrates with good vibes and comradery.

A friend asked me to join him at Retro for karaoke. Sure - why not?! My 1st time here so no expectations. Small place with plenty of tables. All customers were having a fun time and cheering each other own - fun vibe. Mark served up some great cocktails and awesome customer service. You have to go to hear Monica sing. I'll be back!

This wonderful joyous karaoke bar is the perfect little escape from reality. The mood is uplifting and everyone is there to have a great time celebrating music and the friendships. The DJ is excellent and has a nice voice. The drinks have solid pours, and on par price wise.

UPDATE Response to owners: I have to argue that- My husband was never told he needed one & we saw young group of bar patrons coming in, standing by us & we didn't see any wristbands on their wrists. Why was I targeted? What criteria did I meet being judged? I sat at the bar whole time, never walked through to use restroom & out? Anyhow I'm over it & thank you kindly for addressing this but I'll stick to where they treated me fair & respectfully - middle aged, minority & orientation (my family/bffs are LGBTQ+ whom I love for who they are) Hate having to post negative reviews but establishments need to do better & respect all people including aging. Review reflects night of 8/25/24. Tried posting to other popular search engine "G" reviews but apparently was removed-filtered out of the reviews. I'm old AF & yet got scolded by another old person -bartender to go get a wristband before I sat at the bar- they waited till my husband left me alone to use the restroom to inform me. We walked from the casino up the street & had a few drinks so I didn't think to show ID & didn't want to ruin his birthday arguing, so I told the bouncer what was said & he said "they told you that?" shaking head w/a wtf expression, looked like he didn't want to deal with it & humored both of us putting wristband on. Honestly that's the only reason I rated this bar so low. And why I felt insulted & puzzled why they told me that & just didn't ask for my ID? And yes, why didn't I just show it to them!? My husband said they were rude & my take is that they were probably having a bad night & just end it here. Note to owner, please have your employees ID people instead of scolding them if they can't properly judge a person's age.

It's a cute space with the greenery, twinkle lights, and plenty of 20th century artwork & photographs. To be honest, I did expect more from the food but I would return to try other menu items. The bread was served piping hot, which is great, but the outer crust was a little too crunchy and hard. The halibut lacked any real flavor while the cacio e pepe had way too much pepper. Naturally the pasta is supposed to have pepper but this was an overwhelming amount and took away from the overall enjoyment of the dish. The mixed salad was fresh and well done though and the deviled eggs were solidly enjoyable. The burger was novelty and juicy. Fries were also fresh and tasted like McDonald's to me (which is a good thing by the way!!). I tried the Garden of the Gods which is a newer gin cocktail on the menu and it was rather refreshing. Of course we had to give the $50 martini a try and it was a kick alright. Turns out, if you order it on 10 occasions then you get your name on a plaque. For $50 x 10 I'd sure hope so! To end the night we finished with a yummy pavlova. Nothing like a little fruit, merengue, and sugar all together. Bar Cecil sent me on a deep dive of Anna Pavlova after that (if you know, you know). While we had higher expectations for the food, this is a cute, trendy place and I'd say, very Palm Springs.

CUSTOMER SERVICE Ongina was served as the MC and was great! The servers were pretty cool too. Good banter, pretty friendly and a good flow. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good flavors, great entertainment, and good energy! Whether you're visiting Palm Springs or you're a local looking for a fun Sunday outing or some fun LGBTQIA+ drag brunch entertainment, check this spot out. TIPS * Make reservations for drag brunch--they fill up quickly. * Bring cash to tip the performers.

Walked in feeling great, walked out with duct tape residue on my shorts. Bold choice, Chill Bar…read more The good stuff first & there are many good things: strong drinks, a genuinely fun and friendly crowd, and a patio that's beautiful under the string lights at night. No complaints on vibe or service. But we need to talk about the furniture. I sat down on a booth that crackled like it was held together by a single roll of duct tape and sheer optimism. The patio chairs are in the same boat; wobbly stools held together by a prayer, and what looks like clearance-rack lawn furniture. This is Palm Springs, a town famous for its mid-century modern design, and the seating currently looks like it lost a fight with a garage sale. I'll absolutely keep coming back and recommending this place. The atmosphere and people are worth it, but the furniture needs an upgrade to match everything else this place has going for it. Would come back, might bring a cushion just in case.
