Did not intend to come, but still felt compelled to step in and join - even if there was no place left to sit when we came at peak time. Was able to sit down as the night grew later. Normally a busy small space would have me walking away, but the energy said come in. I'm so glad we did. I had drinks and danced to those singing, and it was easy to make friends. This place vibrates with good vibes and comradery.

A friend asked me to join him at Retro for karaoke. Sure - why not?! My 1st time here so no expectations. Small place with plenty of tables. All customers were having a fun time and cheering each other own - fun vibe. Mark served up some great cocktails and awesome customer service. You have to go to hear Monica sing. I'll be back!

This wonderful joyous karaoke bar is the perfect little escape from reality. The mood is uplifting and everyone is there to have a great time celebrating music and the friendships. The DJ is excellent and has a nice voice. The drinks have solid pours, and on par price wise.

UPDATE Response to owners: I have to argue that- My husband was never told he needed one & we saw young group of bar patrons coming in, standing by us & we didn't see any wristbands on their wrists. Why was I targeted? What criteria did I meet being judged? I sat at the bar whole time, never walked through to use restroom & out? Anyhow I'm over it & thank you kindly for addressing this but I'll stick to where they treated me fair & respectfully - middle aged, minority & orientation (my family/bffs are LGBTQ+ whom I love for who they are) Hate having to post negative reviews but establishments need to do better & respect all people including aging. Review reflects night of 8/25/24. Tried posting to other popular search engine "G" reviews but apparently was removed-filtered out of the reviews. I'm old AF & yet got scolded by another old person -bartender to go get a wristband before I sat at the bar- they waited till my husband left me alone to use the restroom to inform me. We walked from the casino up the street & had a few drinks so I didn't think to show ID & didn't want to ruin his birthday arguing, so I told the bouncer what was said & he said "they told you that?" shaking head w/a wtf expression, looked like he didn't want to deal with it & humored both of us putting wristband on. Honestly that's the only reason I rated this bar so low. And why I felt insulted & puzzled why they told me that & just didn't ask for my ID? And yes, why didn't I just show it to them!? My husband said they were rude & my take is that they were probably having a bad night & just end it here. Note to owner, please have your employees ID people instead of scolding them if they can't properly judge a person's age.

If you didn't know better you'd think you were in LA in the summer, excepty for the bocce ball. They have an excellent selection of spirits, cocktails. Maybe a little varied, but decently creative. The only thing that gets me is pricing. Sure you pay for everything for decor, glassware and not just spritis, but I recall wondering how they price their drinks becuase not everything is equal or standard mark up when some things aren't house made it's easy to cost out becuase you stop paying for creativity after a certain point. It feels like they took alot of Mr. Lyons business model and use that for pricing rather than a sole entity with their own margins. The service makes up for it, the ambiance makes up for it. The crowd makes up for it. Far less wrinkled and aging snowbirds and retirees circling the drain in their waning days. People dressing up and celebrating, genuine convivialness abounds with most guests. It's not somewhere else trying bring that vibe here, it's pretty authentic. It's separate from nextdoor other than shared bathrooms, so don't be surprised when you feel like your in a different world. Most people who wander between the 2 take pause and awe for a few seconds before their mood shifts to match the room. Not a place to get sloppy and party that way unless it's a closed event. It's a great, classic PS lounge for when you have 2 groups of friends who you can entertain, the steakhouse crowd for dinner and the loungers beforehand. One of the reasons I keep coming back is the availability of private dining rooms that are conveniently located near the main dining area. If you're planning a group dinner meeting, just be aware that the sliding doors don't completely block out the noise from the dining room, so conversations may not be as secluded as you'd expect. That said, the food is consistently outstanding. The heirloom tomato salad is an absolute must-order. The crème fraîche dressing is incredible. Pro tip: save some bread to soak up every last bit of it. For the main course, the mesquite-smoked carne asada is exceptional. The meat is cooked perfectly, and the combination of pinto beans, ranchera sauce, and slightly sweet corn pudding creates a balanced and memorable dish. The portions are thoughtfully sized! Satisfying without leaving you feeling overly full. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert. They're all worth trying, but the macchiato cake is the standout and the perfect way to end the meal. Whether you're meeting clients, celebrating a special occasion, or simply enjoying a night out, Eight4Nine delivers excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a dining experience that keeps me coming back.

Our server was wonderful, he was attentive all night and had a great positive attitude. Three of us ordered the sea bass which was absolutely amazing. Full of flavor, and a delicious sauce to go with the meal. One person ordered the fried chicken, and she felt the chicken was pretty flavorless but the side was good. A couple girls ordered the carne asada, and really enjoyed that as well. I'd say the biggest miss for our group was with the drinks. One gal ordered a vodka soda with lots of lemons. She recieved a literal glass of vodka, full, with a whole bottle of sparkling water on the side. This was so odd, but we're not the type to send things back so she went with it. Another lady ordered the manhattan and the server noticed immediately that it didn't look quite right, and had that fixed. It had come with an orange slice and no vermouth originally. I ordered the cucumber cocktail and that was decent. A few others ordered cocktails that they enjoyed. I'd definitely be back as it was a fun place with great service, and my dish was excellent.

I have been to Zaldas nightclub years ago and it was a fun place. Anyway, looked up on Yelp and found this gem and my friend and I got excited, took an Uber and went straight to the club. We didn't have this much fun in a long time. David was very nice, kind and attentive. Since we had already eaten, we only ordered drinks. We both opted for Coconut Margarita (blended) didn't want to cross the line and get drunk. That is why we took the Uber down there. Smart idea right? Right! They have a dance floor, DJ, and live music. Also a cover charge for entrance. $10.00 which is not bad at all. Other places charge way more..Can't comment on the food, since we didn't eat there. The minute I came back from the restroom to my seat, this lovely elderly gentlemen invited me to dance. Since he was more like my friend's age, she thought that he was about to ask her to dance.. Place was very clean, David checked on us twice, and the feeling/vibe along with the atmosphere was just PERFECT!! The song that the band was playing was "Besame Mucho". I am sure most of you have heard of that song, if you haven't, it's never too late. If I happen to be in Palm Springs again, I will definitely go back to this club. You are never too old to have fun. You can also hold events for your special occasions. Thank you David, Copa Night Club and management.Established back in 2013, restrooms for both men and women, street and metered parking only..business hours are from 9pm till 2am. We were immediately whisked away into a night of unrivaled service and culinary perfection. Tucked away in one of Palm Springs' most charming shopping plazas, this meal was easily the highlight of my week. The menu is brilliantly varied, but a few dishes truly stole the show. The grilled artichoke is a classic, but their execution of it is completely elite. The Halibut main was a revelation--hands down the best I've ever tasted. And you must save room for dessert because the Berries and Cream was worth every single bite. Absolutely delectable. Reservations are notoriously hard to get, but we got lucky with a last-minute walk-in and were seated after 15-20 min wait. There's plenty of parking, and if you do have to wait, they have a cute little covered outdoor seating area with chairs and tables where you can relax. We sat on the patio, which was surprisingly cool and comfortable, so don't let the Palm Springs heat scare you away. The whole restaurant has such a sexy, colorful, candlelit vibe that somehow feels both lively and intimate. We kept the drinks simple and ordered Hugo Spritzes, which were refreshing and perfectly made for a hot afternoon. What we ordered: * Caramelized Onion Tart (Puff pastry, chive, Comté) - This was recommended by our server and I can see why. It reminded me of French onion soup wrapped in a flaky puff pastry. Rich, savory, and definitely shareable since it is a bit on the heavier side. * Red Thai Curry Mussels (PEI mussels, ginger, garlic, lemongrass, red chile, coconut milk) - WOW. This was hands down my favorite dish. The broth was incredible, rich and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. I was worried the lemongrass might overpower everything, but it was perfectly balanced. It comes with toasted bread and trust me, you'll want every last drop of that broth. I'd honestly come back just for this dish. * Steak Frites - The steak was cooked perfectly medium and was delicious. The fries were crispy and seasoned well, making it a classic done right. * Broccolini - Simple but really good with a nice char that added great flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere is one of the best parts..beautiful, moody, and full of personality..but the food absolutely held its own. Service was friendly, the patio was comfortable, and now I completely understand why it's one of Palm Springs' hardest reservations to get. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.
