I'm by no means a drag show expert, but I've been to three different shows in SoCal (Long Beach, San Diego, and now Palm Springs), and this one really stood out. I really enjoyed the intimate venue. Everything felt up close and personal, and you could tell the performers were genuinely having fun and going all out on stage. What stood out the most was the friendly staff and the overall atmosphere. It didn't feel corporate or like you were being price gouged, which made the experience much more enjoyable. The Kickxy Vixen "Stars of the Desert" show was amazing. So much talent throughout the night, and Violetta and Kickxy were definitely my favorites . Highly recommend going with friends. We went for a bachelorette tonight and the experience was the worse drag show I've been to. One of the bridesmaids had been in contact with an employee that took her credit card number over the phone and told her we'd have a great bottle service and be seated in the booths. However none of that's was true and no one knew about the bottle service and it was clear it was thrown together quickly. The drag show was not impressive. The queens did subpar dances and mostly just walked around collecting money with very little performance. It was just a huge money grab for the queens and they put no effort in. read more

Well, our Palm Springs weekend kinda stumbled out of the gate (pardon the pun) when our flight was delayed by three hours. Jamie W and I were planning to grab a bite once we checked into our hotel, but the only place that was open nearby was this gay tiki bar. That was a nice hybrid concept that appealed to us, a gay bar with a tiki theme, or is it a tiki bar that was gay-friendly? It turned out to be more the latter than the former as a loud bachelorette party was in full swing as a trio of drag performers were wrapping up their lip-sync performance of, what else?..."Lady Marmalade". I'm sure you can imagine the shenanigans that were unfolding on their little stage. No one would be mistaken for Xtina. Jamie and I just sat at the bar keeping our snarky comments to ourselves. We sipped our slightly watery $15 Pina Coladas with discretion (Photo 10). Perhaps I'll try one of their signature cocktails next time like the Pineapple Coconut Martini or the Texas Ranger. The rest of the patrons were male, relatively quiet, and waiting for the ladies...and I use the term loosely... to leave. So my first drag show experience is for my bachelorette party. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I left wondering why I haven't been to a drag show earlier because it was so goddamn fun! The energy is high, music is blasting with the best sing-a-longs, and it's a full night of entertainment. The performances were incredible and it was just so amazing to watch. Of course there's plenty of people celebrating their bachelorette here, so get the VIP seat in the front for the best view and interaction with the queens. As someone who didn't like attention, dancing, nor singing --I can't believe how much I enjoyed my time here. Definitely recommend for bachelorettes! During the show, bartenders also come around to bring you drinks. You can also exchange your $1 bills here, so no need to stop by a bank beforehand. This was our group's first drag show experience and we had a blast! We booked the front-row seats next to the stage to celebrate a bachelorette party during Coachella weekend. We got lucky since it was rather empty but it also meant that the energy of the room was a bit more tame. Our group enjoyed the throwback songs and were singing our hearts out. Kickxxy Vixen was a hilarious host and was very interactive with the guests that night. She brought up those who were celebrating and gave them all a shot. The drag queens for the night were entertaining, especially Nebuer with the Titanic skit she performed. We particularly loved Victoria Mateo! She had the best consistent performances and she gave us her all even with the lack of sleep from coming all the way from Las Vegas. She also came up to our bride-to-be to chat with her during the break. She was so beautiful and sweet! I ordered the Nolet's Black Cherry Spritz, which was sweet but a bit watered-down. The tequila shot was more like two and that got me buzzed. This was a great experience but my only gripe was that for some performances, it felt like they spent way more time collecting from the crowd than performing. read more

Had a quick girl trip to Palm Springs from Whittier Calif. Did a whole lot of day shopping this being our last night my girlfriend suggested a drag show. I haven't been to a performance in ages. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G S-H-O-W !!!! We just got back from our first ever visit to Toucans and I'm still reeling from the experience. I mean, what took us so long? We were next door on a 4-day mini vacation, trying to find something to do, and our friend Vinnie (aka ENVI) was like, 'Hey, you guys should totally check out the show at Toucans!' So we booked online last minute, scored VIP tickets for like $25.00, and were super stoked. We rolled up at 7, grabbed our front and center seats, ordered some drinks, and waited patiently for the show to start. As someone who's into photography for the drag scene in Long Beach, specifically ENVI, I knew the show would start late, so we ordered another round. The bartender hooked me up with a strawberry daiquiri over ice since they didn't have a blender - nice save! The show finally starts, and out come these three gorgeous women. One of them looked super familiar... and then it hit me - it was Chad Michaels!! I freaked out, I haven't seen her perform in years, and she's my absolute fave. I've been following her since the beginning, and the last time I saw her was at Hamburger Mary's in Long Beach, like, eons ago. And then, to our surprise, Elliott with 2Ts and April Carríon from RuPaul's Drag Race showed up. And Chevelle Brooks and Trinna Modelle? We hit the drag jackpot!!! Bachelorette Party Headquarters? Came here to see some drag performers, but saw mostly groups of drunk straight girls having the time of their lives. For you homophobes whom are hesitant to visit a drag show, just know that there will be a lot of drunk straight girls there, like 90%+ is the crowd. I've seen A LOT of Drag shows, but Queens here were just okay. They're all beautiful, but only "performed" on stage for 30-60 seconds before heading down to the audience to collect some dollar bills. I didn't have a reservation and was charged a $10 Cover, and a Gin & Tonic and a club soda costed $11 for both. Seems reasonable for an entertaining way to end the night. read more

Terrible Experience - Would Not Recommend We were really excited to check this place out for the first time as part of my sister's bachelorette weekend. Unfortunately, it turned into a horrible experience. No one told us ahead of time that we needed to bring cash to tip during the show, and when we didn't, we were publicly called out and disrespected--called "hoes" and "bitches" by the performer. My sister, the bride-to-be, ended up leaving the show in tears. This was meant to be a fun and memorable night, and instead, it was embarrassing and upsetting. First-time guests should not be treated this way, especially over something we weren't even informed about. Definitely would not recommend this place to others. read more

Catch a drag show in the tiki tiki tiki tiki room. I hosted a bachelorette party this past weekend and one of the first stops on our agenda was Toucans Tiki Lounge for a drag show! Their Friday night performance was led by the fabulous Jazmyn Simone and her crew: Fontasia L'Amour, Xavier Valentino, and Khalil Valentino! The girls absolutely adored the show and it was really fun to see the variety of performances. I was personally obsessed with Xavier and their quirky/fun energy. Toucans was filled with bridal parties, so consider booking in advance. I also highly recommend the VIP seating, which includes a spot directly in front of the stage. While there's no bad seat in the house (the venue has a camera man that helps give full visuals throughout the performance) I still think it's worth it to splurge to be front and center. The bar also hosts cheap drinks, including pitchers of margaritas and a diverse menu of mocktails. Be sure to bring cash so you can tip the queens! read more

I've been to places like Hamburger Mary's in Long Beach and had a great experience, however with my first time visiting Toucans Tiki Lounge in Palms Springs I was simply blown away. The musical acts are very engaging and you can help by getting immersed in the vib going on. Everyone is having a great time and me and my wife did as well. We sat through two shows and were amazed; however that final show to close out the night took things to a whole new level. By the end of the night I'm belting the songs alongside everyone else and my wife thinks I'm losing my mind (in a good way). The drinks definitely hit the spot and are priced great. If you stay the final show, afterwards it turns into a mini club environment where everyone is dancing and simply having a great time. I can't wait until our next trip to Palms Springs. we will definitely be stopping here again. read more

A stop here was a fun way to end the night after dinner across the street, but it's not a good place for drinks. We paid $10 cover for the drag show, which was pretty fun once it started, although since we came randomly without a reservation we were squished against the bar. The staff was nice. The place was full of bachelorette parties and the scantily clad male dancers(?) were entertaining. But it's a bar, and the drink were not good. I got a margarita which was probably the 2nd worst margarita I've ever had (after one in, surprisingly, Mexico City). I'm not sure if there was alcohol in it. Then my friend bought jello shots-- they were pretty gross, not because of a lot of alcohol but because of a random cinnamon taste to make them seem strong. I learned my lesson and got a wine for my second drink-- somehow this was terrible as well. Then I saw how many people were drinking bottled beer and decided that this is what I should have done in the first place. Also not sure what's "tiki" about this place-- didn't really see many tiki drinks on the menu (and I'd be too afraid to try if there were). read more

if i could rate the queens on their own 5/5 every time. we have been here a few times and have enjoyed the energy more than other drag shows we have attended in the valley. that being said for drinks id rate 2/5. prices are as expected to be in palm springs but why a Moscow mule taste like straight simple syrup and lime juice I will not understand. Why the bartender got so defensive after I work up the courage to return our fourth bad drink in a row while still being charged for the return is also something that made me uneasy. I can't really speak for the drinks here as I was the designated driver, but my friends and I came on a Saturday night (during Coachella weekend, so it was a more mellow night) celebrating our friend's bachelorette! We pre-booked a front row seat to the stage. It seems like a popular spot to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and bachelorettes! It was all 9 of our first times and we had a really good time at Toucan's! Plentiful parking that night and only one other party outside so we got in pretty quickly. The ambiance is really great! I loved the music playing, the lighting, and everyone inside was so friendly, open, and just having a good time. Bathrooms were clean and accessible. Bartenders were nice. Our drag queen hostess and the other dancers were absolutely AMAZING and very much talented. We weren't sure what to expect, but they are kind enough to kind of show us the way and we settled in quite easily with the culture of a drag show. The music choices that night were superb, we all sang so much that I lost my voice for a few days. Very entertaining show (definitely not a place for kids with those jokes!) and the queens are beautiful! They also brought up guests who were celebrating something that day and made sure they were celebrated! They also are very sweet and kind. We had one queen, I think her name was Victoria or Veronica (both names were said that night so I can't remember which one now), who came such a long way, barely had sleep, and really gave it her all despite being sleep deprived! She also came down after the first show during an intermission to talk to people sitting the crowd which was unexpected and quite heartwarming.
