We live in the area and wanted to give Rooftop 262 a try. The service was very good and our waitress was sweet. We ordered the shrimp tacos and the 12 inch hot dog with fries. The tacos were decent, however, they were smothered in Chipotle sauce ( too much). Overall, they were good. When the 12 inch hot dog came we laughed because it was no more than 8 inches. It kinda got lost in the longer bun. While it tasted good, we missed out on 4 inches. If you say the hot dod is 12 inches, you should provide 12 inches. Just saying!! Overall our experience was good the food was ok. Not memorable and I'm sure Rooftop 262 will not be on our repeat restaurant list. read more

We were in town for a friends 40th and we were excited to try this place out after reading reviews. I had called three weeks prior and made a reservation. The gentleman on the phone asked if we preferred inside or outside and I said inside because it was supposed to be 105+ that week. I called a few days prior to check on reservation and all seemed fine. When we arrived, the hostess very nonchalantly said, "follow me. You're sitting outside because that's all we have," to which I replied, "Well I made a reservation for inside three weeks ago." She said, "Well, sorry. All we have is outside." She did not seem phased that we had made reservations and this isn't what we requested. She brought us up to our table, outside on the patio. There were zero other people out there because, well, it was 108 degrees out. She then said, when we went inside to see if we could talk to anyone, that she could squeeze us into a booth and add some chairs at the end. We sat there thinking it would be fine, but in the end, her attitude made us all irritated, and we left to find somewhere we were more welcome. Would not return. read more

It kinda bummed me out that no one wanted to dance and the misters are currently broken due to a filter issue. It was my main reason for wanting to go. I got the 3 burger sliders since I wasn't as hungry and they were pretty good! Fries are good too. My brother and dad both seemed to like their burgers. The zucchini fries were an interesting menu item and everyone seemed to like them too! I tried one of the teriyaki boneless wings as well and was NOT a fan. I would not suggest getting wings here. Overall, I'm guessing the burgers are the best option here. I wouldn't recommend coming here just for dinner. We ate inside, as the chilly night air had moved in and I didn't feel that the warmers in the patio area were keeping it warm enough. Getting service from the bartender was not as simple. She seemed more intent on watching the UFC fight while chit-chatting with a coworker, all the while with her back to us. When she did finally turn around, she focused mainly on the "regulars" while we sat with empty drink glasses. Eventually we were able to get her attention to order another round, and we also ordered the Teriyaki Wings and Salt and Pepper Wings to snack on. $11.50 per order of 4 on the happy hour menu. $1 extra for bleu cheese dressing. There were four of us so we each enjoyed two. The wings were excellent. Meaty and crispy with just the right amount of sauce. The teriyaki wings were flavorful and carried a nice heat. The salt and pepper were excellent as well. Very crispy and meaty. The bar itself was great. Tons of bar seating with TVs everywhere. A lot of tables scattered throughout as well. My wife and I always stop here when we drive to Palm Desert from our house in Altadena. The first time I came, it was because they allowed my two small dogs to come inside. That was awesome! But what keeps me coming back is the consistency of the fantastic food, service, drink selection, ambience and cleanliness. Hector and Gino were our latest heroes tonight. Such cool guys. Other employees also stopped at our table to say hi and to meet our pups. It's such a friendly place! Side note: We came on a Sunday night and happened to sit down next to one of their employee meetings with the owner. I can't even explain how cool it was to overhear that. Terrible "management" . They allow the security to make decisions on what games are being watched because there is no "manager on duty" per the staff. Wanted to watch The World Cup but despite having 20 screens, they only showed the Trump UFC fight and the Stanley Cup. Despite asking multiple times, the security walked around with remote and would not change at least 2 tvs to the popular Cup game. Finally after about 50 mins, a lovely female "acting" manager was able to switch a couple of the tvs to the World Cup. While we were just getting seated and preparing to order, our server brought up the topic of rape completely out of nowhere. It was highly inappropriate, unexpected, and made my partner and me feel extremely uneasy. The comment created such an awkward atmosphere that it immediately ruined the experience for us before it even began. To make matters worse, although a manager did attempt to reach out, it was at 11 o'clock at night, which felt very unprofessional. Not only that, but the repeated calls became excessive to the point where I had to block the number. Overall, the entire situation--from the inappropriate conversation to the way it was handled afterward--was disappointing and uncomfortable. Funny enough when we reached the rooftop the same music was playing as the other bar with the cover even though we did not have to pay anything to get into Rooftop 262! The Mexican Candy shots and cocktails were amazing - not too spicy or sweet. We arrived around nine, so it was early enough in the night to get a few rounds of drinks in a timely manner. As it got busier, it was more challenging to get a drink and I think I might have actually been rung up wrong due to how big the crowd was around the bar.
