Congratulations!! Good bread should only have three ingredients: Salt, Flour, and Water. A line on a Saturday as soon as the bakery opens at 8 am? Rock star status! Being discovered by no less than the editor of Bon Appétit then without knowing it in 2019. The editor visited the bakery three times! Later wrote about @reunionbread, and on Sept. 11, 2019, Reunion Bread was honored by Bon Appetit magazine as one of the top 50 new restaurants in the country! Guess which pastry put Ismael to Rock Star status? It's the sticky bun called Golfeado! The owner himself, Ismael, is soo nice! He has endless patience and dedication to his craft. Congrats to Ismael the owner who got nominated best pastry chef / baker in 2023 James beard award. This is a national recognition and only 20 pastry chefs get nominated each year. Wednesday 1400 close to their closing time of 1500 Reunion the bakery is located next to The Source Hotel (market #2) Parking garage is free for the 1st hour or $8 if you go over 1880's the original building (market #1) was used for blacksmithing making Valyrian Steel and what not until it fell vacant during the 2000s then the Zeppelin Development group purchased it in 2012 and turned it into Denver's first food hall marketplace. We use to visit our friends next door at Block32 apartments and frequented the Source often. Tenants have come and gone, and after 10 years of revitalizing they managed to rename 5points to hip capital RiNo. Alright enough gibberish onto the review about the bread. On Google they are listed as Reunion bread / sourdough bread. Sourdough is made by fermenting dough with lactic acid. Without going too deep into the rabbit hole of bread chemistry, the long fermentation leads to a lower glycemic index and reduces the amount of gluten. Since I was here on a Wednesday they didn't have any sourdough and they only had 6 pastry items available. The friendly staff said the Pastel de Nata (egg tarts) were sold out but come back on weekend. So we chose the next next two options: Golfeados and the Churro croissant. Pastel de Nata (is from Belém a district of Lisbon) nata translates to Cream so it's pastry of cream was voted to be one of Portugal's 7 wonders of gastronomy. Golfeados (Venezuelan sticky bun) looks like a cinnamon roll with cotija cheese sprinkles on top. The piloncillo syrup (sugar cane juice) was a bit too sweet for me but still good. Churro croissant was my favorite. I even went back and got two more to go. The croissant is coated in sugar and filled with Dulce de leche (sweet of the milk) on the inside. Sheer delight! We came here yesterday, late morning, and were lucky to avoid the line that formed right after we ordered. It's a tight space, but is warm and inviting and there is plenty of seating in the main area of the hall. This was going to be our early lunch so we ordered big: churro croissant, ham and gruyere croissant, the pastry of the day (an orange/creme anglaise/chocolate situation), their version of a chocolate chip cookie, AND the very nice man at the register gave us a pasteis de nata on the house. EVERYTHING was so good! Incredible, even. The savory ham and gruyere is one of the best that we've ever had and we loved the cinnamon churro one that had dulce de leche (we think that's what it was) in it. The chocolate chip "cookie" is also croissant-like, and the pastry of the day was out of this world: it essentially tasted like a canoli. We're not fans of custard tarts in general, so that wasn't our favorite, but we know a good one when we see it, and this was a good one. I thought only one bakery in Denver could win my heart, but it looks like I'll be two-timing. For nostalgia purposes, I got a lil Nata (Portuguese egg tart) to relive my Lisboa/Porto trip last summer and IT. DID. NOT. disappoint. WOW. I stumbled upon this place online (I don't live in Denver but I come here often) and I was ecstatic to learn the owners are Venezuelan . Super friendly staff and beyond delicious pastries. We came here Thanksgiving day since I ordered a Pavlova and couldn't help but to get a bunch of other stuff. Ended es up getting 6 natas () they are a must try! A golfeado, a pan eu chocolat, empanadas gallegas, 2 coffees, and an orange and chocolate gluten free cake. The place itself is super cute. It's located inside of what it looks like a cool warehouse. The locals definitely know about this hidden gem because there was a line, but it goes fast and DEFINI WORTH IT. I just found my new favorite bakery in Denver. This bread is amazing! That said, I want to comment about the "bread flight" that I ordered for Thanksgiving. I thought that ordering 3 days in advance would mean that bread would be reserved for me. The "bread flight" was supposed to come with 3 half loafs, various types, as well as some butter and jam. We were really looking forward to getting 3 types of bread. When I arrived, I was told that I got 2 full loafs of sourdough, instead of the flight. They said they were very busy and ran out of the other options. I assumed that placing the order 3 days(!!) in advance would mean that they would put bread aside for me and not run out of options. I was very surprised but couldn't do anything else since it was Thanksgiving Day. They might need to update their website because Rye was listed as an option in the "flight". I found out when I picked up that they have not been able to make Rye for a while now, due to an oven issue. I understand having oven issues, I just don't understand why Rye is still listed and also frustrated that I couldn't get 3 types of bread, as expected. FYI, don't order the flight if you want the butter and jam because they only gave me enough for one piece of bread (1 tiny ramekin of each). I thought I'd be getting enough to cover at least a portion of the bread order. I'm glad I had some butter and jam at home. The bread flight was pretty expensive, and I really don't think I got what I paid for. I still think their bread is awesome and I will probably buy it again. I couldn't help myself and I got too much. I got the Venezuelan bun of course and it was indeed worth getting to try that slightly savory cheese + sweet combo. Even more impressive though was the lox and cheese croissant - the croissant was so airy and the everything bagel seasoning was complementary. Only thing is that I wish the lox wasn't as overcooked as it seemed to be. I also got the Portuguese egg tart which had a super flaky pastry but the custard had a tad bit too much cinnamon for me. They told me they not gonna make my order after making me wait 10 minutes super rude staff!!

I showed up early first in line to grab the crookie. I had heard about it from Instagram and really wanted to try it out. I had plans at 10 am so I was hoping it wouldn't take too long. I got my order taken right at 8 am and the cashier told me it would be 10 minutes. 20 minutes later they started handing out crookies. One after another started going out without my name being called which was weird since I was the very first one to place my order. Me trying to be patient and polite figured these people had ordered online. I'm seeing the inventory dwindle down and they finally said, 30 minutes in might I add, they wouldn't have anymore until 20 more minutes later. I spoke up to one of the bakers and voiced my complaint that I had been the first one to order and had not received the TWO $7 crookies I ordered. To understand their system when you order a crookie they write down your name, and how many you want on a piece of paper and then as they give them to you, they cross your name off of the paper. As the guy said that they wouldn't have any more for the next 20 minutes, he has thrown that piece of paper away. When I voiced my concerns to him, he got that piece of paper out the trash and realized that my name was at the top of that list and he had skipped over me. Thankfully, there were literally only two more crookies left. The other bakers kind of gave him pushback on trying to give me the last two, but he just went ahead and gave them to me, because at the end of the day they were in the wrong for not giving them to me in the first place, and skipping over me. Now to get into the taste of them, the outer shell was very crisp and the sound that it made was like biting into a crispy heaven. The inside was like a decadent cookie, and I loved the chocolatiness of it all. Despite the taste, however, it doesn't feel right in my gut to give them a super high rating because of the service that I received. My favorite is their ham and cheese croissant but their loaves are stellar. They are very popular, so you definitely need to be smart about ordering from them. But they are popular for a reason. Holy cow this was delicious! I went in with my son the other day since he really wanted croissants. We finally found it a little after noon (there is free parking, but the lot is small and very busy. If I wasn't with my toddler I definitely would have found street parking and walked) and got in line behind a man who bought their last croissant. However, this was not a big deal because they had other delectable looking treats that my son was fine with substituting. We ended up choosing a sticky bun and a slice of Santiago cake. Both were amazing. I'm not usually a sticky bun fan but this one was really good. It managed to be sweet without having the normal overpowering sticky sickly sweet goo typical of sticky buns. As a result, the pastry part was outstanding too. I really liked the Santiago cake too, but my son, who originally chose it, mainly wanted to lick the powdered sugar off the top and leave the cake part for me. When I was playing tour guide with my friend and took him to The Source, I could smell freshly baked goods wafting towards me as I opened the door. I told my husband we had to get some breakfast here Sunday morning. We came back and everything looked just as good as it smelled. It was hard to narrow down the choices, but we ended up getting a plain croissant, almond croissant, pastel de nata, and a naturally leavened olive loaf. Everything was delicious, which is so dangerous knowing this place is less than 10 minutes from me! The croissants were tasty and not as heavy as some artisan croissants I've had. Pastel de Nata was great reheated later on to have as dessert for dinner. The olive loaf was absolutely delicious with a crumb that was airy but not too open so that spreads fell through. This bakery is located in the Source hotel's food hall, which is a trendy industrial place. I went when the hall just opened on a weekday so it wasn't super busy and there was plenty of seating. I heard it gets really packed though so if I were you I would go during non-peak times if you can to get a full selection. The shop itself was quaint and cute, fast transaction but less selection than I expected. I was excited to try this bakery because I am a croissant lover. I bought the classic croissant and it was a bit disappointing. It was not moist inside, lacked enough flavor for my taste, though the layers looked and felt flaky/crispy. Reunion has the best croissants and pastries I've had in a long, long time. We had the Croissants, Pastel De Nata, and Chocolate Babka Slice. And based on that they deserve a 5-star rating but I had to go for the one-star reduction because the Pain au Chocolat that I really wanted to try was missing when I got home with my box of treats. One of the best pastry shops I've been to in a while! We came on a Monday and grabbed these 3 pastries and the service was kind and prompt. Ended up being around 20 bucks but it was more than worth it. Every single croissant was amazingly flakey. The almond frangipane was excellent and the dulce de leche filling was unique and a nice textural complement to the crisp pastry. This is one of the best pastry shops I've ever been to and highly recommend visiting. There was only 30 minute parking outside but zeppelin station around the corner had free parking. I originally found them on a visit to the source hotel a few months ago and bought a couple item as it was later during the day. I stopped by this weekend after craving pasteis de nata and oh my gosh, it was so good! I bought their natas, golfeados, and their croissants. The natas and golfeados were an absolute 10/10. Coming from San Francisco, I had my fair share of great croissants, and pastries in general, and the ham & cheese croissant, sticky buns, and egg tart from Reunion Bread all exceeded my expectations! We are regulars at Reunion, both at the Cherry Creek Farmers Market and the brick and mortar location. There are a few items we get and devour with vigor, and I order my husband panettone for his birthday every year (wish this wasn't seasonal!). It's amazing. A few of their pastries are also on rotation for us. I will say there have been a few times where my pre-order was not ready when it was supposed to be or something was slightly off, so that could be improved upon. There is also the occasional sub-par bread loaf. These are minor complaints, but given the price tag and fact they've happened a few times I can't give full marks.
