Every meal we had was great, burgers, grill cheese, steak salad, chicken and Almond butter honey sandwich were all outstanding and the honey mustard is amazing. We will definitely return. This place is amazing! They are currently doing curbside pickup so don't pass up an opportunity to grab an amazing, gourmet lunch here. I got the Old Pestoment sandwich which was very refreshing and absolutely delicious. I got a side of their house made garlic lemon aioli for the sandwich and fries and it was so creamy and rich. Pretty good! Nothing amazing--ambiance was loud/lively. The organization was wanting. Waiting for a table was a confusing experience. I had the burger and my sister had the pesto sandwich. Revival is a perfect addition to the growing food scene in Waco, and several things place this new establishment at the top of the heap. First, food: tasty, fresh salads alongside a baller burger menu with other delicious sandwich options make this a perfect lunch spot or a go to dinner place on the weekends. I had the burger special with fresh mozzarella, red onions, and pesto with sweet potato fries and a hazy IPA, all of which made for a lunch that could not have been any better. Other folks that I was with and who have eaten there more regularly say it's the best burger in town. Second: service. There was quick, friendly service, and I didn't have to wait long at all for a gourmet burger even though there were plenty of other customers. Also, the owner continued to refill my water glass, which wasn't expected since it's a restaurant with counter service. Third: location. Revival is in East Waco, which is within walking distance to Brotherwell Brewing and within view of downtown Waco and McLane Stadium. Parking is not a problem either. Loved how fresh this place was! I was looking for a good salad in Waco and saw the Eve Salad from Revival was raved about by many reviews so I'd exuded to try. I changed out the cojita for goat cheese and added portobello (would rather have had chicken) and the server was happy to make the accommodations for me. I hate that they close at 2 because I've tried to go back for this salad but they've been closed when I was visiting. Service was great! The lady sitting behind me requested extra crispy bacon which ended up coming out burnt in her opinion in and the manager came out to help her find something else on the menu for her. The lady I'm assuming was manager ended up sitting down and writing down a ton of recommendations for other restaurants in town since the customers had just moved to Waco. The restaurant is in an older building that was renovated and I really liked what they did with the building and the overall vibe of the place. You order your meal at the counter, get a number and they bring the food to your table. All easy and straightforward with friendly service along the way. The food did not take long to come out, and oh my was it good. I had the daily special which was grilled cheese on sourdough with a pesto sauce (delicious) and also had a bowl of their tomato basil soup. My date had the signature dish which was called The Calf Burger, with sweet potato fries. In each case we felt the quality of food was outstanding. The chocolate mousse with peanut butter cups was the dessert and it was to die for. This place really exceeded expectations today and I do plan on coming back. read more
