Hmmm...have to say Revival did not meet the expectations created by the reviews...was a busy Saturday visit, staff was extremely friendly and busy, and space is pretty cool (but on the very loud side). But the food...just B- to C food. Nothing stood out, and frankly didnt finish the fries (soft and a bit oily). Waitperson recommended the burger, so did a build my own, and it was just OK...a burger. Meat was not flavorful, and the pattie was cooked to smaller than bun. Cant say I would recommend or visit again, but for Waco its obviously a place people enjoy in an area of trendy-to-be urban revitalization, and maybe I just expected too much. Wow. They're in the middle of street construction, but it's worth the trip. The Golden Calf is legit one of the best most creative burgers. Loved the Old Pestoment - light and delicious. Used to here all the time, their small menu is great for those who have a hard time choosing, their Golden burger and Ceasar salad were consistently great. The ingredients all seem to be extremely fresh and of high quality, such as the creamy goat cheese on the burgers and the smooth blend of dressing for the Ceasar Salad. They have great chocolate chip cookies, but I only had em a couple times since usually I was plenty full after the burger and salad. Such a cute restaurant serving up excellent burgers salads and grilled cheese, just off I-35. We had been sitting in traffic and decided to take a break and this spot popped up. They kids menu was great and everyone loved the burger, fries and grilled cheese sandwich. The salad was fresh with a great dressing as well. Highly recommend stopping for lunch or dinner. They also had a great selection of beer on tap but I was driving to Austin and could not try any. Definitely want to return! read more

Nestled inside the hippest neighborhood in East Waco, revival stands out as a beacon of hope for the local cafe scene. Every safety measure is being carefully attended to, and the place is always spotlessly clean. Extremely friendly personable staff is always ready to go above and beyond ,even for the pickiest customers . I like to think that I have had everything on the menu but my favorite is the golden calf burger, and the Rachel sandwich. (Liston up fellow health nuts . Sub the fries for broccoli slaw. We had the EVE salad today along with the Golden Calf burger and both were delish !! The young staff are both friendly, accommodating and professional in demeanor. The menu has loads of great options and besides the draft beer selections, they even have TOPO CHICO in bottles; something many other places have dropped due to Coca Cola's marketing tactics of mandating places take COKE inventory as well, now that they own the TopoC brand. One thing they could change is to stop using those cheap foil unit-of-use foil ketchup paks when serving their burgers. If they're trying to be more 'upscale' (and indeed the food is commensurate with that moniker), then drop the cheezie ketchup paks. read more

We were passing through and I looked this place up on Yelp and we decided to go for it. We were immediately greeted and brought waters and our orders were taken promptly. Our waitress heard we were from out of town and gave us recommendations of places to go see while we were here. My husband and I ordered the 8th day and he got sweet potato fries and I a cup of tomato soup. It was DELICIOUS! The bread was perfectly crisp and not heavy at all. I have avoided all things Waco due to the state of I-35. My son had a band competition in Midway so my family decided to eat before we went to see him play. We arrived to late to eat before the competition, so told our the waitresses that we would be back as soon as we saw him play. I AM SO glad we went back, we were a fairly big party of 6 with a 5 year old they seated us immediately upon our return and even inquired about how he performed at the competition. I had the Golden Calf burger and it was AHMAZING! Very flavorful, and the patty was actually seasoned which you don't see a lot of anymore. 10 out of 10 I highly recommend! I will return!! read more

Amazing, cheery service. We felt welcomed in. We didn't have our phones (because we were on a date), so the staff explained the menu highlighting favorites and bestsellers. Revival's menu items have clever names as an homage to the building's original use as a church. I enjoyed a fresh, tasty Spurgeon salad and my husband had The Prodigal Son sandwich and fries. He really liked the chimichurri spread and the steak was tender. They treated us to a taste of their mousse for dessert. Amazing food and experience. My son enjoyed his golden calf burger, my Leah roast beef sandwich with caramelized onions was just ok. Not sure if it was something with the caramelized onions being burnt. We got the last 2 chocolate chip cookies, and they were pretty good. The venue is nice, an old church building on the East side of Waco. The menu items are all Bible themed.
