Such a good ice cream shop - a bit of a line on Saturday afternoon but they move fast! We wanted to get their tasting flight since it's comparable to a triple scoop in price but it's only available M-F 12-5pm. They don't offer samples but said they will replace any flavors you dislike. There was a very long line when we arrived at 9:30pm but it moved at a good pace. I think it only took about 40 minutes to get to the front of the line. Thankfully it's a cute street with cute lights so it was a vibe. Sadly, they don't allow taste testing of flavors but they said that they would replace your order if you don't like what you ordered. Still, it would be nice to be able to test it, maybe limit it to 2-3 flavors per person? I really wouldn't want to get back in line. The flavors I got to try were quite good. The Bees knees is award winning, so we felt like we had to get that but it was very underwhelming. While in line they were playing a video showing how they made their ice cream from scratch, and there was this crunchy dessert they broke into smaller pieces and mixed in with this ice cream, but I could not taste it. Plus the honey was so subtle. It felt more like a vanilla ice cream for the majority of the time. It still is a nice clean light flavor, but it would have been nice to pull the honey flavor forward a bit more. We also tried the eucalyptus mint chip which also had a light crisp flavor, mint was not too overpowering and the eucalyptus scent hit your nose first before you finish with the cooling mint. Exactly as advertised. Good if you like this combo of scent and flavor. My mom got the cold brew coffee and wow was that really good. If you are a coffee lover, you will enjoy it. Not too bitter, very balanced. My sister, sister's husband and kids also got ice cream, but I can't recall which flavors. Well we found it, it's called Revival Ice Cream. Small shop nicely decorated with the information on the ingredients and methods of their unique blend of honey and other natural ingredients in photos on the walls. Bright colors on the interior mixed with photos of the different flavors catch your eyes as you wait to order. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced for specially made products, the waffle cone and waffle bowl are not your normal ingredients. I truly find the normal waffle cone can be too sweet. These both were not, great flavor baked into the waffle that I cannot pinpoint but very delicious. We sat in the two seats inside. By the time we left there was a line out the door in the rain. I can see why people were waiting. Several people asked for samples like most ice cream parlors offer. Revival does not provide samples. Instead they will replace your ice cream with another flavor if you don't like it. Honestly that seems like a poor business choice. The line goes slowly because people can't decide quickly and there are only two people working the counter. I'm sure the majority of the people asking to taste something will still buy something. Most of us also got this really delicious sweet/tart sorbet that had orange and mango and coconut and maybe pineapple? I don't know, but it was everybody's favorite. There was also a coffee chocolate flavor that was stunning. The ingredients are real (not artificial flavors) and fresh and often in-season. Service was good/friendly. Ambience was fun and cute (I loved the music they were playing)... But know that indoor seating is extremely limited to just about four or five barstools. Although they do have outside tables. This place was pretty busy because it's obviously popular (that's what happens when you make something that's unique and incredible), and although there was a line, everyone got served pretty quickly. We were in Monterey for three days and we ate at several fancy restaurants and a few casual dining... But this was definitely my favorite thing that I ate in Monterey, CA. Came here for dessert after dinner. I'm so glad we found this place. All their ice cream and cones are made in house. And it's delicious. We tried the salted caramel in a cup and the bee's knees in a waffle cone. The salted caramel was the perfect amount of sweet a d salty. The bee's knees is made with real honey and had bits of honey comb in the ice cream. They had some seating inside and a cute outdoor seating area. We were looking for a special ice cream treat. This place definitely fit the bill. Now if you have littles who have their traditional favorite flavors they may have to expend their pallet a bit. My son wanted strawberry, so he was disappointed to see they didn't have it, and was trying to find an alternative. I got the bees knees which was tasty and unique it was creamy with little bursts of deliciousness. My daughter got their version of cookies and cream. It was also nice and creamy and the cookie bits were soft. My son got a sorbet. I can't remember what it was called but he wasn't a fan as he was looking for something creamy and didn't get the concept of a sorbet. It was ok but was very tart and of course more icey. I love that their Ice cream menu changes and they provide unique, yet tasty flavors, while also making sure they have some traditional flavors. Stopped at Revival for some post-dinner sweets and was super stoked at the "organic and locally sourced ingredients". I ended up ordered a single split cup of Chocolate Nuts 'N Fluff and Bee's Knees. First: the servings are HUGE. The gallon in front of me had ordered a double in a bowl and kept saying "woah that's a lot!" (In a good way) so I took note and ordered down. The single split was the PERFECT size for one person. The chocolate nuts and fluff was okay. It's a dark chocolate ice cream, and I typically like dark chocolate, but this one tasted a little grainy. I did really enjoy the marshmallow fluff- it was indeed fluffy :-) I probably wouldn't order this flavor again. Now onto the award winning Bee's Knees. This was excellent! The crispy pieces of honeycomb candy took me back to my childhood. One of my fondest memories of Candy was eating imported Cadbury crunchies. They just hit different, and that's what this reminded me of eat time I bit into the crunchy honeycomb. The ice cream itself is a sweet honey vanilla and is done really well. My only complaint would be that the pieces of honeycomb were so big that I only got a few. I would prefer them a little smaller (just a little) and more integrated in each bite. Our server was super friendly! I didn't catch her name, but she was there on the night of October 1. She was patient and able to explain the menu flavors well. tldr; Classic ice cream stop in Monterey's downtown. Fast service, excellent ice cream. Revival is a staple in Monterey for ice cream. I've noticed a few more options pop up near the Aquarium, but this still feels like the de-facto option for most. Street parking can be a little difficult, but what I like about Monterey's downtown is the abundance of multi-story parking structures. If you're having difficulty, I recommend parking at "Lot 7" of the Calle Principal Garage. Monterey has excellent walkways between buildings that make access easy. If you can only choose one flavor, it should be the "Bees Knees", which is their signature. Otherwise, most of the flavors are pretty good. I had both Bees Knees and the Papaya Vanilla, both of which are excellent! There's some standing space next to the window inside the shop where you can stand to eat your ice cream, but I think most will use the outside seating in the day to enjoy their ice cream. There are a few metal grille tables and chairs - roughly about 4 or 5, so seating is limited, but if you're not there during peak period (there is usually a queue, but most don't stay to eat), you should be able to grab some seating. If it's your first time in Monterey, you should definitely visit this classic at least once for dessert! read more

If you're into coffee flavored ice cream, give it a try. - vanilla chai: another great flavor. More chai than vanilla, which is a good thing. Good cardamom flavor. If you like chai flavor, you'll like this one. - sundae: I had the mint chip and cookie dough in a sundae. If you're up for eating 2 scoops' worth of ice cream, then I'd suggest springing for a sundae. The toppings are good. We got brownies, torched marshmallow, and fudge sauce. And it was served in a waffle cup. I didn't ask for a sample but I'm pretty sure the people behind me were told that they don't offer samples but would give you a new scoop if you weren't satisfied with the flavor.
