We showed up a few moments early and called to let them know we were outside. They sent out a person to take our temperatures from our car and ask us questions. He said they would call us when they were ready for us. A few moments later the called us to go in. Once we entered they asked us to use the purely from their stand up dispenser, which of course we did. My husaband and I, dawning our masks waited a few moments. We were greeted by the doctor who told us they were cleaning the room. Now they clean the room with these ghost buster looking back packs. Very exceptional in my opinion. We were called back by the lovely assistant. My husband sat in the chair with my daughter in his lap. Soon Doctor Mackey came in and suited up. She was already wearing a mask and eye protection. She suited up in a new full body smock. She put her gloves on and greeted our baby. She was so wonderful with her. Taking her time to familiarize her with her gloves, letting her play with her hands and showing her some instruments. She got a few peaks into her mouth and from what she saw all was good. She provided me with great advice on how to get her used to teeth brushing (ok bad mom here, I've been using a wash cloth in the bath to try and wash her teeth). She recommended a toothpaste and then gave us a baby brush. She was so friendly and good with Veronica. I really can't recommend this practice enough. I have been before and their cleanings are so thorough! Dr. Mackey was able to spot an infection in my tooth and send me for a root canal. This infection has been there for years and other dentists had missed it. I'd spent countless money and time going to sinus specialists and migraine doctors. Since the root canal I haven't had a migraine or nearly as bad sinus issues. Can you imagine?! This practice doesn't take DMO which my employment offered for free. I upgraded my dental plan at work and pay $70 a month for my daughter and I to have the proper coverage to see this practice. It is absolutely worth it. Also if you don't have insurance they offer private plans as well. If you've had a bad experience at a dentist, you know how important a good dentist is. Dr. Mackey and staff are fantastic dentists. I would highly recommend them. They certainly help to make me smile

Extremely long wait after appointment time to be seen, and the administration is horribly managed. This place is terrible. I went to get my wisdom teeth removed. The consultation was standard and everything went fine. They verified that I was qualified for a loan and repayment plan but then I received a letter in the mail after my surgery saying that I did not qualify for the extended repayment plan despite being assured before my surgery that I was. They had me sign up for a plan that caused me financial stress under false pretenses. They called to reschedule my surgery twice which caused confusion with my job because I had to request time off for the surgery and then change it, twice. When I arrived for my surgery, I had to wait an hour and half to be seen by the surgeon whose assistant did not follow her instructions to x ray me while I waited, causing more of a delay. The guy before me had been waiting for two hours. The surgery itself went fine. They have very capable doctors. But so do A LOT of other dental offices. I received IV sedation and it was very fast. The big issue with this place is the management and administration. It is VERY poorly managed. They sent my scripts to the wrong pharmacy (TWICE!) and it took a few hours after my surgery to get them. Also, I requested an itemized receipt for my surgery both before and after my procedure. Was initially told hey can't give that to me until after the procedure. Then on 10/12 when I followed up I was told it would take a day to get to me. It's 10/17 and I still don't have my itemized receipt and they have not called me back. This is what I wonder: 1. I asked for an itemized receipt before my surgery and they said that they could not provide this until after the surgery because that's when they would be able to calculate the totals. 2. If that's the case why did they give me a solid price (the wording was, verbatim "the surgery will cost $2400". It was a definitive statement and not a quote) and have me sign up for a loan and repayment plan based on this amount if they can't actually calculate the totals until after the procedure? 3. Why are they unable to supply an itemized receipt when requested? Why don't they already have this information calculated and on file? Why won't they return my calls about this? Why are they being so shady about this? I am concerned that this place takes advantage of those who need dental work and who may be economically vulnerable, in a lot of pain, and who may be desperate to get this work done. I sincerely regret using Brooklyn Dental and besides my follow up, will never see them again.
