Since this space opened and has gotten a lot of great feedback on socials, I had to check it out. Result? Fabulous place! If you want an Arabic/Turkish coffee experience, then this is your spot in JoCo. A nondescript spot in a strip center belies the authentic bazaar-style decor inside. The space is great, with plenty of tables and even a couple of cozy corner spots for that face-to-face convo opportunity. They have even placed a big TV so that World Cup matches can be viewed. But then there's the coffee. Their brew is rich and flavorful and their drink menu features spices such as cardamom to create distinctive, artisanal drinks. My wife opted for the 'Knafeh', a lovely latte with pistachio cream and vanilla, topped with grated pistachio. And WOW! is that a great drink! The flavors of the smooth vanilla marry perfectly the pop of the spiced coffee. Even their house brew is sublime. It is nutty and dark and exceptionally robust. Pair a cup of coffee, with one of their pastries, such as baklava or a lotus cookie (think speculoo cookies) and you have a fine representation of Turath: strong presence with an exquisite finish. read more

I'm always excited to give new coffee places a try, and this one is exceptionally beautiful! It's a little noisy since there aren't any partitions - just a large room with lots of tables. I ordered a fig matcha which the barista initially made incorrectly (I can't have the cold foam), but the situation was quickly and kindly rectified. The fig flavor was so wonderful, especially for a fig fiend like me! The matcha tasted high quality. My only issue here was the price. It ended up being $10+ for an iced matcha with coconut milk. I continue to BEG cafes for the day when alternative milks don't come with a $1+ upcharge. Lactose intolerant girlies need their lattes as much as anyone and I tend to frequent places that don't upcharge for it, so alas, I don't see myself becoming a regular here. Went back on a Sunday (crowded and the line gets long, but moves quickly) and tried an iced decaf Baklava Latte, featuring pistachio cream and rose water... SO delicious! Also tried to Zaatar Manakeesh which was nice but the Cheese Manakeesh with haloumi is hands down my favorite! read more

Turath Coffee is a beautiful new coffee shop off College and 69. The inside is so clean and wonderfully decorated. It is very spacious, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is clear to read, though a lot of the offerings are new to most I assume. I had never had anything like it so I ordered a Knafeh Latte based on a previous positive review. It might just be the smoothest drink I've ever tasted. The cold foam on top was a perfect mixture of coffee and sweet. The pistachio toppings were a nice touch on top, and the drink itself was perfect. I am also a big fan of matchas so I will have to come back and try more. This place is very close to me and kept popping up for me to try, but honestly I was very intimidated by the menu when I looked online. I want to say that the barista was very friendly and helpful. She didn't judge me when I didn't know how to pronounce my drink, and she answered any questions I asked. If you are worried about trying a new type of coffee spot, just know that you are in good hands here! read more

Another beautiful (new) Arabic coffee place in Overland Park area. Ambiance is great, well designed with cute tables. Menu has different varieties of tea, coffee, lattes and refresher drinks. They also do have some delicious pastries and cakes. We ordered Iced Pistachio lattes. They have two different flavors. We ended up trying both of em. Knaffe latte (Pistachio latte, vanilla cream with Knaffe topping) & Iced Baklava latte (Pistachio latte, rose water with actual rose as topping) I really enjoyed Knaffe latte. Looking forward to trying their other drinks especially Adeni chai in my future visits. First timer who was truly impressed with the not only the aesthetic of this Arabic coffee shop. The name which means Heritage drives home the feel, coffee drinks and some of the food offerings. It reminded of cafe I'd seen in some of Middle Eastern countries I've been too. Warm neutral colors, "sultan tent draping & Filigree Lanterns on the ceiling, a lounge corner with a rug, couch and chairs. There was regional wooden art and bookshelves home to vases, dallahs, books, and other staple household items. Now the menu had different cafe options and I honestly wasn't sure what to try because I didn't know how some of the flavors might taste so I left it upto the barista. This place is great! From the relaxing and vibey atmosphere to the delicious taste of the coffee, this coffee shop is incredible. There is tons of seating on the inside including some couches with softer cushions, to regular chairs mostly. The menu offers lattes, matcha's, teas, etc. I thought the latte options were unique and diverse. I ordered the Knafeh latte which had pistachio, knafeh, and a foam on top. The staff was super friendly and were working so quickly to get orders out! Usually when coffee places are busy, it can sometimes take 10-15 min to get your order. But my coffee was out within 2-3 minutes with lots of other people in line! I have nothing bad to say about this place! I will be back. read more

Turath Coffee was absolutely packed when I stopped by, which honestly made complete sense after taking my first sip. Even with how busy they were, the service was friendly and my drink came out in a reasonable amount of time. The café itself was beautiful inside. It had a warm, inviting atmosphere that made it feel like somewhere you could easily spend a few hours relaxing, studying, or catching up with friends. I ordered the 20 oz Tiramisu Latte, and I can confidently say it was the best coffee I've ever had in my entire life. I'm not exaggerating when I say I finished the entire thing in about 2-3 minutes. It was that good. I seriously considered turning around to buy another one, but I had already gotten onto the highway by the time I realized how much I regretted not ordering two. The coffee itself was perfection. It had just the right amount of sweetness without tasting sugary, the mascarpone foam was unbelievably silky smooth, and the dusting of cocoa powder added a subtle nuttiness that tied everything together. Every sip was balanced, rich, and incredibly satisfying. This is the kind of coffee that instantly makes your day better. Turath Coffee is beautiful and their Arabic coffee menu feels very true to their roots. I ordered the Turath latte (Turath's Special Date & Spice Blend topped with Cold Foam). It's served with whole milk as the standard, but they also offer almond, oat, and coconut milk alternatives. I ordered it with almond milk and it was absolutely delicious. I also tried their cheese Manakeesh (Flatbread Topped with Halloumi Cheese), and it was delightful. The cafe has about 16-20 tables seating two to four people. Ample and easy parking lot. read more

So... I hate to be the only person to give a lower score... I ordered a fig matcha and I'm unsure if the fig is just VERY light, or if they forgot the fig. Because there was no hint of fig, nor was there any sweetness. They did have some bakery items that looked so good, and I didn't see them when I got the drink. I'll have to come back. Just checked out Turath Coffee that recently opened in OP, and overall it's a great addition to the area. The ambience is really nice--modern, aesthetic, and super inviting. The whole place smelled amazing, and their pastries and menu items all looked really interesting. I tried their signature Turath latte. It wasn't my absolute favorite latte I've ever had, but it was still solid and definitely worth trying. I noticed a lot of people ordering matcha, so I'd love to come back and try that along with some of their other latte options. I've had two visits to this coffee shop and the Knafeh iced latte & then the Levant iced latte. Both were outstanding drinks! The Knafeh had pistachio & Knafeh pieces on top & was my favorite of the two. The shop is beautifully decorated & had lots of seating available. It's $7 -$8 for my drinks. Clean and beautiful interior, and we visited during the World Cup, so there were also little flags to decorate which added a fun touch to the atmosphere. A lovely and new study spot in Overland Park! We got the fig matcha latte and baklava latte, both drinks were absolutely delicious. Another Middle Eastern themed coffee shop in OP, so must be revealing to the changing demographics here. We came here when the other middle eastern coffee shop that recently opened too disappointed with loud Middle Eastern music, and this place had it too but not as loud, and of course not surprising, sort of like when you go to Jerusalem Cafe, same thing, but it's an understandable feature, and I'm okay with it because it's after all it's an Arabic coffee shop. The place is nicely laid out and planned out. The pastries are delightful. I am sure the baklava here is great, but my husband and I had the dubai chocolate cookies, and they had a pistachio filing that was a very nice surprise. I had a Kanfeh latte, which had pistachio and my husband had a Tiramisu latte, and we went along with the barista who told us that they were both very sweet, and so we asked light on the sweetness, but wish that we hadn't because they aren't sweet at all, and the espresso shots in them? I couldn't honestly tell you they had any. My Kanfeh latte, which was the barista's recommendation over the baklava latte, had pieces of pistachio? I thought I was back in Italy. It harkened me back to the time I asked a barista there for a pistachio latte and it was hot milk with maybe a espresso shot, and pieces of pistachio---all lost in translation, and no pistachio syrup. This place doesn't have it either, so, there's that. I may try their brewed coffee next time or something else, but will perhaps skip a latte. Just a month or so after the areas first Yemini coffee shop opened 20 blocks south of here - Turath Coffee is open and billing itself as an Arabic coffee experience. The space is fairly large and open with a simple yet elegant design with pottery, drinking vessles and tapestry hung from the ceiling. Many unique beverages can be ordered along with basic espresso offerings. I went with theri signature Turath Latte - made with date syrup and spices and topped with a cold foam. A solid iced beverage that I would order again. The pastry case was a bit disappointing - at least in comparison to their competetion down the road. Nothing stood out to me and with the elevated prices, I skipped having a treat and splurged at a bakery later in the day. The accoustics could be better also; with multiple conversations trying to over-ride the constant buzz of the blenders during a busy lunch rush kept the decibles higher than I want for a cafe. Certainly worth another visit, but not near the top of my go-to list. read more

Super cool and unique coffee shop. Staff were super kind and quick to get everything made and ready despite being super busy! The great thing is they're open till 10/11pm for those late night coffee needs. Turkish/Arabic based! I tried the baklava latte which has little rose buds on top; a slight sweet flavor of pistachio in the cream but other than that, more of a coffee base. I also got to try their amazing matcha-misu which is a matcha based tiramisu. I think this is the best thing to ever be made and I'm so glad it comes in large slices; can be shared with another person. It was nice and moist, with a sweet cream in between the earthy matcha flavors. It's definitely good quality matcha, not anything super pink and less concentrated. I would definitely recommend for a nice study/work spot and for some tasty coffees. They even have 6 2-seater tables outside which is great for those nice cool mornings. read more

Brand new coffee spot! Ambiance is incredible, might be one of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shops around. I had the Yemeni latte, which has cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves- so delicious and perfect amount of spice without being too much. We came in for their soft opening and were immediately impressed! The ambiance was stunning - there was plenty of seating space and the decor was beautiful. There was a good line but it moved very quickly. The menu options were incredible, but we came a bit too early and didn't get to try their mankeesh quite yet (hope to do so in the future)!
