What can I say..but a fine surfboard shop...a fine surfboard shop…read more Been to many surfboard shops since the early 80's. Never encountered this kind of epic service. A friend and I chatted with Blinky for about 20 minutes. He broke down and explained a lot about board design. What a treat. He's been doing this so long and he's still stoked and friendly. The rest of the staff were also very friendly. Amazingly a yelper below complained because they don't have enough apparel and bikinis. How ironic is that? There are hardly any real surfboard shops left, since most shop floor rooms are covered with "apparel and bikinis", which carry higher profit margins than surfboards. That person should visit one of Socal's many fine mall surfboard shops and they'll find all the bikinis they need.

When we drove by we saw the sign that notified customers that there is parking in the back, so we did. When we walked into the store there was no one to greet us. My husband took my youngest son to use the bathroom at another establishment. I have no idea if this store has a bathroom because there was no one there to ask. My oldest son stayed with me. I looked at bathing suits for about 3 minutes. After I was done looking I heard a man ask if I needed help. I told him that I was looking for a bathing suit but I did not find anything I liked. He then told me that if I wasn't going to buy anything that I needed to leave his store. I was perplexed because the reason why I was in the store was to possibly buy something. I told him this and his reply was the same, if I wasn't going to spend any money that I needed to leave and that I needed to move my car. I told him that the sign in front says that there is parking in the back to which he said again that I needed to move my car. I told him that I would gather my family and leave his establishment. I am black, so my initial instinct told me that this guy is racist. I began to get really upset but throughout the day I second guessed my instincts. I kind of told myself that this guy is just a miserable jerk. When we arrived home I checked in with my oldest son so we could discuss what happened at the store. My son said that the guy at the store said something under his breath as he passed him. The guy said "What are these type of people doing here?". My heart just sank. My instincts were right. I called the store today to speak to the manager or owner. Turns out the guy who kicked me and my son out of the store is unfortunately the owner. He said that he thought I was going to go across the street to have breakfast for a couple of hours. If I was going to have breakfast across the street, wouldn't I be across the street having breakfast? I was in his store for several minutes looking at bathing suits. My oldest son was also looking around the store for something to buy. This experience has left me really sad and hurt. He said my son is lying about what he said under his breath as he passed him. Mr. Artie Anderson (the owner) said he isn't a racist but I implore him to stop acting like one. Before you kick someone out of your store, I suggest you ask before jumping to false conclusions.

From the start, she was rude, combative, sarcastic, and unnecessarily aggressive throughout the entire process. Instead of simply helping resolve the issue professionally, I was met with attitude, condescending remarks, and an overall hostile demeanor that made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism -- especially from a company that prides itself on customer service and brand values. The exchange itself was straightforward, yet Maddie handled it in a way that felt confrontational and unwelcoming from beginning to end. It honestly left a terrible impression of the store and the company overall. After being a customer for nearly 30 years and a brand ambassador for this company, I truly never expected to be treated this way. If this is the type of people Patagonia chooses to employ to represent their brand, I do not believe I will be moving forward with purchasing their products in the future. We appreciate being able to get a bicycle or surrey when away from home as it is a pain to bring…read morebicycles. First time only four person surrey was available so we took it. We had fun, got a workout and that machine is larger and heavy. Yesterday we got the two person surrey and it was better for the two of us. It is so fun riding along the little beach roads, and having a roof keeps the sun off us. We at first wanted two hours, but one hour was just right. Every time we come to the Ventura beach we will be back. Thanks to the employees and Wheel Fun Rentals for a fun time.

After an outstanding e-bike experience in Lake Tahoe (with Vista Trail Bikes) just a few weeks…read moreearlier, we decided to rent two e-bikes from Wheel Fun Rentals at the Ventura Pier. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. The problems started before we even left. The bikes had to be swapped out due to mechanical and maintenance issues while we stood waiting. Once we received functioning bikes, there was no safety briefing, no route guidance, no discussion of local riding conditions, and no meaningful instructions beyond handing us the bikes. What was most alarming was the complete lack of concern for customer safety. My wife's seat had been adjusted too high. Within approximately ten feet of leaving the rental area, and in full view of three employees, she lost balance and fell directly onto the pavement. Not one employee came over to check on her, offer assistance, or ask if she was injured. Nothing. Despite this, my wife wanted to continue riding, so we attempted to salvage the experience. The bikes themselves were poorly maintained, and our confidence in the equipment and operation was gone almost immediately. My bike kept changing E levels throughout the short ride. We returned the bikes in less than two hours despite paying for a four-hour rental. When asked how our experience was, I honestly replied that it was terrible. The response? "That's too bad." No concern. No questions. No apology. No attempt to understand what went wrong. From the condition of the bikes to the lack of safety procedures, customer service, and basic human concern, this operation felt careless and unprofessional from top to bottom. I would never rent from this location again, and I certainly would not feel comfortable bringing children or inexperienced riders here. There are plenty of places to rent bikes. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend choosing one of them instead.
