Attention to food detail, freshness and flavor is obvious. They've nailed the classic recipe for success: limit what you do to what you do exceedingly well and nail it every time. Caesar gets it's own line cuz it's that good. For those complaining about soggy middle, fine. I recommend you pop the oven on to 200 as you walk out the door to pick up your sweet ass dinner and give the pie another 4-7 minutes in the oven once home and you'll be the better for it. Starting with an order of their caeser salad with vibrant greens and tasty homemade dressing. Margherita and pepperoni pizza with fantastic quality from toppings to dough. So last week I left a review of a Margherita pie I had at Revolver. That pie was phenomenal! Go try one for yourself. Like I stated in the review of that pie, I was going to try a Pepperoni pie today. I did and It was the best pepperoni pie on the West Coast. I will debate this with anyone at any time, any where! You would have to travel to NYC to get a pizza to rival this one. My credibility is very important so I'm going to score today's pie fairly and accurately. Before I do this, I want to put out a disclaimer. I want everyone to know that I broke a cardinal rule when I picked up my pie. Earlier today When I called I asked that my pie be ready at 3:30.... I showed up at 3:15. I should have waited outside until it was 3:30. The interior of the restaurant is very small and the chefs noticed that I was waiting for my pie. As a matter of customer service, I'm sure my pie was removed from the oven and placed in the box and given to me. So, the rating for this pie is lower than what it would have been if the pie was left in the oven longer as I'm sure it would have been had I showed up at 3:30. Not their fault! I rate today's pie a 8.2.... still an extremely good score, but not reflective of what it should have been had I not ruined it for them. I'm going to order another pepperoni pie next week and rate it. I won't show up early to pick it up. All being said, this is the best pizza in Santa Barbara.... until next weekend. read more

I'm a little on the fence about this place. On the one hand I like the hipster feel and it's nice to have another option n this neighborhood, and on the other hand they are clearly taking advantage of an inflated economy and need for something in this neighborhood to go with the community that's forming here, and on my third hand it's a profitable business model. It's kind of like being a good divorce lawyer. We walked in an ordered a margherita pizza and Caesar salad and waited a half an hour to get our food. The previous comment about bad service is spot on. The guy taking our order had no personality, it was like he was doing us a favor by just being there but wasn't going to do us any other favors. He didn't offer any information about the menu and offered no suggestions at all, didn't even ask if we wanted something to drink. I do feel like this is the norm now, it's like less service is hip and then they flip the iPad around for payment and your supposed to tip the 25% like it's a frickin participation trophy and you're worried if you don't tip them that your order will suck. Every place does this now so they are just a player in that game - don't hate the player? I'm a gen Xer so I'm old, I'm still in the mode that I am tipping for good service. A walk up counter ordering food to go is not my idea of an 18-25% tipping situation, he's doing less than a bartista. So we finally get the margherita pizza and Caesar salad to go. There's only one size pizza and it's the size of a small pizza for $22-$26 that's a healthy profit margin. I had heard the sourdough crust was a must try so that's what tempted me to come here. The pizza was good, not great, heavy on the sauce, light on the cheese - again upping the profit margin, and it was verrrryyyy salty, I mean very salty. I'm still drinking water and I ate it yesterday. The crust was good but again it wasn't like over the top amazing, but good. The $10 Caesar salad came in a small to go box, small box. It was large pieces of lettuce, that's the new hip way to serve salads - no one has time to be cutting up the lettuce these days! And if you have to cut it yourself it feels like you're getting more food? I'm not sure the concept here but I find it just slightly irritating. Ok I digress, so the salad was a few large piece of lettuce with some grated parm and 4 croutons with dressing on the side. It was a side salad, it wasn't like a meal salad and there was nothing special about it - again I'm inclined to conclude this is part of the intentional new hip very profitable business model. Less work more money - this used to be the goal later down the road in business but it is now THE business model to start a business with the least amount of work for the most money. And I say this but I don't mean to disrespect the guy in the kitchen putting hard work into his pizza. So for playing the game I would give them 5 stars, but for overall food, value , horrible or no customer service and a very bad sodium hangover I give them 2 stars. I'm still thirsty - seriously. And to the guy at the counter last night taking orders - dude give me something - anything about what your business offers! Offer some information about items on your menu or about your pizza crust or offer me a $10 beer or something jeezus! You have bottles of wine in the fridge with the prices written on them so you don't even have to tell me how much they are and you didn't even point them out. You didn't even ask if we wanted a beer while we waited a half hour for our pizza - nothing. I just can't. I will pay stupid money for something that is great, this was not great and the entitled attitude is just a nope! read more

I work at a hotel and a guest dropped there left over pizza off for us to eat. It was so good me and my co-worker spent the next 15 minutes calling pizza places and asking them to describe what there take out boxes look like. We final found out it was this place and let me tell you it has change my life, it happened 2 minutes ago but it has changed my life. I can't even digest gluten or dairy properly and their pizzas cost more than what I make an hour but absolutely none of this will stop me from giving them my patronage. read more

Alright listen up guys! I have yet to write a review on my new page since moving to Santa Barbara primarily to the fact that I had yet to find that bit of brilliance and inspiration one needs to reflect. In Revolver Santa Barbara I have found it. The concoction of flavors and simplistic menu allow revolver to excel head and heals above the rest of the dwindling pizza cuisine in Santa Barbara. The service is chaotic at times but understandable due to the astounding response from the community of the west sides best new pizza parlor. Jazz is a gem and the rest of the staff is friendly as well. I will be stopping by at least three times a week in order to get my fix. The only reason I would have to advice one against trying this establishment; is if they are easily offended by quality, delicious, and ineffable food. Great job and see you soon. Nothing derails my good intentions of starting a diet like a Revolver Pizza craving! It's absolutely the BEST!! Beautifully handmade crust and fresh toppings. Not fancy just delicious. And the salads are incredible. Best Caesar with real anchovy dressing. Market salad has yummy dill ranch, shaved vegetables on yummy lettuce. I don't love the atmosphere, so we always get it to go. It's super popular so get your order in early! But it's definitely our favorite pizza in SB. read more

If you want the most expensive, cold, partly soggy, partly tough pizza then Revolver is the place for you. I asked for the Pepperoni pizza sans basil, with an add on of sausage. They did not have sausage, so then I asked what their seasonal veggies were; they were potatoes. I've never had potatoes on a pizza, but I can also say I never wanted any either. So going with my third choice for an add on, I went with mushrooms. And low and behold, a simple pepperoni and mushroom pizza was a grand total of 35 and change. That's the price of the pizza, $3 for the mushrooms, whatever sort of tax, and then the lowest tip option which was brazenly 18%. To say this was a poor experience was an understatement. Not to mention there is little to no parking in a several block radius, so if you want even a sliver of a shot at having your pizza warm, you'll have to park illegally. And I was there on time doing so, so who knows how likely a warm pizza really is. On the plus side, the pizza had a little kick of spice which I happened to like, but I doubt others would like to be surprised by such a thing. I was excited when I heard about this new pizzeria in Santa Barbara. I'm from New York, and they were advertising themselves as "a chef-driven New York style pizza shop." I even heard that the owners were from Brooklyn! However, I was greatly disappointed with our first order to find that it is far from anything I've ever experienced in New York. Full basil leaves on top of the cheese? Over-cooked, inedible outer crust? Medium size only? Two mediums for over $42? Where are we, in California? Oh, wait, yeah, we're in California. I guess that's ok for gluten-free, kale-based pizzas, with the option of pineapples as toppings (not that Revolver offers these things), but I'm still looking for a real New York pizza. read more

I have never written a review without actually being to an establishment or eating the food until now. So this is certainly not a review on the food at all. I have actually been dying to eat this pizza. However, I have tried numerous times to order pizza from them and every time they tell me over the phone "Sure, but I do have to tell you...we have a gigantic wait tonight". The first time, it was Labor Day weekend so I felt like good for you, glad you're busy as a new business. The second time (same response) was midweek. The third time I called right at 5 after they had just opened and thought to myself, wow I'm actually going to eat this pizza tonight. The same guy answered and his same opening response followed as "we do have a gigantic wait tonight and it's looking like 2.5 hours". After weeks of this, I got so frustrated and asked how this could be possible?! I mean I'm calling you when you open!! He then informed me that people actually start calling at 11am for orders...and their pizzas are so "special" it takes awhile to make with the oven blah blah blah. By the way, this guy lacks any sense of urgency or empathy. If you start taking orders at 11, then start telling your eager customers so they can plan accordingly!! Why was this the first I'm hearing of this?? Being from the east coast, I am just accustomed to better customer service. Places get busy all the time. It's about the way you handle it. Instead of saying "sure" and telling me about your stupid "gigantic" wait, you should say...."wow thanks so much for supporting a new business, we have actually been doing so well people are calling in really early to place their orders. I'd be happy to put it in for you now, but it'll be 2 hours but I promise it'll be worth the wait! If not, call tomorrow early and I promise we will get that cooking for you". We had been anticipating the opening of Revolver Pizza for weeks. Finally had a chance to try it last night. A couple of observations: -the pizza is 5 stars for sure - great crust, great ingredients, best pizza in town! -garden salad - 4 1/2 stars. The salad itself gets 5 starts - very fresh ingredients and pretty to boot. I'm not a big fan of ranch dressing so it would be nice to have another option for dressing, hence the 1/2 star ding. - business model - interesting....we tried to order a pizza the two previous Fridays and they were "sold out" at 6 pm. We got smart last night and called at 4:00 p.m. to reserve our pizza for a 6:30 p.m. pick up. We arrived at 6:30 but still had to wait another 15 minutes before the pizza was ready. True, it was a Friday night and good for them. The tables out side were filled with millenials enjoying the awesome pizza. Perhaps a mid-week order doesn't require the pre-order and wait time. The vibe is pretty cool (although the music inside was great but a bit loud - yes, we are "old" people) - love what they've done to the patio. Revolver does not play. If you thought you were ordering deluxe Dominos, you're not, if you expected fancy garbage Pizza Hut, it's not. This pizza is for the ones who don't care that the wait could be 2 hours. This isn't for the people who like pizza sometimes. This is for the ones who care, the east coasters that managed to escape the hustle, and head out west to this oasis by the sea in hopes of a proper pie one day. The crust is thin, the undercarriage toasty, and the peps perfectly peppy. Pay them, take your pizza, and go. As someone from the east coast I'm very picky about pizza and it's hard to find any of good caliber in SB. Revolver is a very close comparison to what you'd find in the tri state area.
