I had been researching various companies for a few months and at the same time trying to envision what I wanted in my front yard remodel. Once I met Omar, I knew I had found the right contractor for the job. He was extremely attentive and super detail oriented. We are extremely happy with the front yard full remodel project that Cali Landscaping did, which included all new landscaping, artificial turf, and hardscape (porch, walkway and driveway pavers). We get a ton of compliments from our neighbors, friends and family. From quote to completion, it was a smooth process. The crew was attentive, extremely responsive, worked fast (finished before the estimated deadline) and never compromised quality. We made minor tweaks during the process because things on paper don't always pan out in person, and they were very easy to work with address these items. Their prices are also very competitive. First and foremost, I would like to mention that I do not write negative reviews. However, after my experience with Cali Landscape, specify working with Omar JR and Omar SR, I felt the need to inform potential clients. I hired Cali Landscape in late March of 2025 to install pavers and to build a pergola. The project was scheduled for completion in mid-April and was completed in early August. Yes, you read that correctly. It took four months for Cali Landscaping to complete the project. Cali Landscaping did a solid job on the pavers. However, after the installation, sand started running throughout the pavers. After conducting research, I realized that the pavers required sealing. The self-proclaimed paver experts did not mention or offered to seal the pavers. The pergola had to be drastically adjusted as the initial installation lacked a slope. Additionally, the electrical work in the pergola had to be reconfigured. Cali Landscaping initially installed basic electrical wiring (120v with a 15amp breaker) for three electrical outdoor heaters. That's approximately 1500 watts maximum output for all three electrical heaters that required 1500 watts each! Please be aware that Cali Landscape's primary business is hard/landscaping (pavers and planting). Any other type of service or project will be sub-contracted and result in higher project costs. For example, if the cost to build a pergola is $10,000, Cali Landscape will hire a sub-contractor to do the work and charge the client $15,000. That's a $5,000 finder's fee! There were other issues that I will not mention as Cali Landscaping has already taken too much of my time and money. As I mentioned, I do not write negative reviews, but I felt it was appropriate since I recently had to pay to seal the pavers. Work that should have been completed by Cali Landscaping. I strongly recommend that you stay away from Cali Landscaping. Omar JR sings a good song, but once the project starts, he disappears. The only time you will see Omar SR is when he is proposing overly priced services or wants to collect a payment. Otherwise, both JR and SR will leave you to deal with inexperienced sub-contractors. I will never hire or recommend Cali Landscaping due to their poor project management and lack of professional experience with clients and projects. When my wife and I were first considering renovating our front and backyard, we were looking for a landscaping company that we could trust, have open communication with, is fair and reasonably priced, is professional, and is thorough and detailed from start to finish. Cali Landscaping checked every box and more than exceeded our expectations! When we first met with Omar and his team, we were looking to fix our entire driveway with pavers and redesign our entire backyard. For our backyard, we had no idea what to do with it and left it to Omar and his design team to help us create an open space where our kids could play and where we could entertain and host family and friends. With the design process, Omar and his designer, Joe, listened to all of our "must-haves" with the backyard space, took into consideration the overall look and feel that we were going for, and came back with an amazing rendering of the entire space. My wife and I were really impressed with how everything was presented. I truly appreciated how detailed everything was as well. For example, Omar was detailed about the specific plants he suggested to use, the type of material that would be used for the pavers, the timeline of when the project would be completed, and a breakdown of the cost of the entire project. Omar and his team also made sure to make any changes that we wanted with the entire design and never made us feel like anything could not be done or that it would be a "burden" to make any revisions. Omar made sure that we were 100% happy with the design and entire plan before proceeding forward. With regard to the actual execution of the entire project, I was totally impressed by the professionalism of Omar's team of workers. They always came on time and made sure to clean up after the end of the workday. Omar or his father (Omar Sr.) would show up multiple times per week to make sure work was being completed correctly and on a timely basis. Omar was also always available to discuss if I ever had any questions about any work being done or if I wanted to make any changes. Omar never made me feel like I could not have an open line communication with him. The entire project was completed right on time just like we were told. My wife and I could not be happier with how everything turned out! We absolutely love our entire outdoor space and would 100% recommend Cali Landscaping to anyone! read more

It took his team an entire week to complete the project because "the sod farm doesn't have the grass available". When they finally completed the project, the installation team said "if the new grass dies, reach back out and we'll replace it." To no surprise, the grass died and when I reached out to Omar, I received nothing but silence. Clearly, this is a company that values profits more than they do customer service.
